  Recently, I ran a windows update and leave my computer turned off.  When you turn it on, the were (are) of the internet and the printer does not.  I went into Device Manager via Control Panel to see if I could turn them on and there is nothing pulling up in the Device Manager.  All documents and are accessible, but I can't even start a new internet connection and cannot print.   I am currently using another computer (more modern) in another room.  I even tried the SafeMode (f8 in the middle) from the model and go to Device Manager and nothing was there.  I just tried to go through the f8 option and beginning to a previous state that worked and I have the same result...  Everything is saved on that on a 350g portable hard drive.  It would just be easier to wipe the hard drive and start over? If so how would I do this reformatting?  Thanks for any advice.

  Before you destroy by formatting the hard drive on your computer, I suggest that you do a restore of the system on the computer by choosing a restore point when it was working fine. You can check the link that will give you information about how to restore the system on the computer below:

  Tip: Never, EVER to use system restore to 'Cancel' an update, Service Pack, or upgrade of IE!  Instead, uninstall the update, Service Pack, or updated IE & restart.  If that does not resolve the problem, then try System Restore.

  Restore to before the update was installed check Windows updates and hide the update so it would not automatically reinstall and the program works.

  I use an envy TouchSmart 15 and I just launched an update of Windows based on the automatic system update 8.1 (he ran 5 updates).

  I would firstly you welcome on the HP Forums!

  Thanks for sharing the troubleshooting steps that you already have, and I say you are right that the issue is not with the HDMI cable or the 27 "monitor. From what you described in your post, it sounds as if he is with the drivers, maybe a conflict.

  I would like to begin with the installation of the original video drivers supplied with your laptop. I've included the document "using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 8)". Please follow the steps to reinstall everything video original drivers. After you have installed the original drivers, restart your computer.

  Now, once the computer is restarted, you will need to install the updates that are available for HP and Windows. You can install both of them through the HP Support Assistant. I've included the document 'using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8)'. Scroll to the bottom of the page on to Midway, and you should see an option for the updates and the updates. Please follow the options for HP and Windows updates.

  If you are still having the same problem after the above troubleshooting steps, please let me know the model number full of your envy TouchSmart 15.   I prsume your keyboard is USB?  If you can find a friend who has an older keyboard with a PS/2 connector, you can try this, F8 again and select last last known good configuration.

  There is no updates yesterday in itself, because I have them on my PC (I hate the 2nd Tuesday of the month because I run around the House like a crazy woman by ensuring that 1 Vista 64-bit, 2 Server 2008 R2 64-bit, 2 Windows 7 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit 4 are all downloading correctly and restart if necessary.) All keyboards and mice are works well here.

  After a windows update in March/April 2012 all my usb ports stop working. The single port works now is the SATA USB combo.

  Which has been updated by windows update is specific to your individual system, and if the USB failed in April you seem to have left ror a long enough period.

  Windows Update > history will show what has been installed.

  In a first time visit your manufacturers of PC and update or reinstall your chipset drivers.

  I've updated my gateway GT5404 Vista machine to Windows 7. Everything went well, but however I can't get updates to install via windows update. Right now it is showing 21 important updates, but all fail repeatedly. I get the error message 80070539. I have reinstalled (via the upgrade option), checked for malware and nothing software solves the problem. I'd appreciate any help.

  A few days ago that I have updated Windows 8.1 evaluation to the full version 8.1 and since then my audio doesn't work. In Control Panel, "Digital Audio display (AMD high definition Audio Device)" is listed as disconnected. The audio icon on the taskbar is XE out and clicking on it works the finder error in vain. Speakers no longer appear in the list of devices well now that nothing works I don't know if they have ever or if the audio comes through display Digital Audio. Headphones do not present as playback device and the volume on the keyboard controls and the taskbar are not accessible. I've never used external speakers.
  
  Windows 8.1 update seemed to wipe all my software HP and AMD came with the laptop so I reinstalled the HP support center and looked for a driver updated and all that jive, but all also shows to date. I don't know what else to look for because most of the forums I've seen seem to speak of their output HDMI sound does not work when it is connected to a TV and I just try to have sound, period.

  Hi Chris,

  Try the following.

  Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  If you see a very similar entry for (or entry of IDT) IDT HD Audio , right click on the device and select uninstall - you should also get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.  If there is no input IDT, go just below.

  When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

  Looking at the page drivers and software Webcam HD - 3100 HP, there are not any drivers for Windows 10 or 8.x Windows at all. You could try to load the driver of Windows 7 by using compatibility mode in Windows 10. How: install and update drivers in Windows 10 -answers.microsoft.com

  U beat me to the punch. Came from work and started messing around my laptop after the execution of windows 7 and lost my wifi and bluetooth. I was able to stop, press the one key ke recovery, that allows me to reinstall vista 64-bit. After you play with the BIOS, activation and deactivation of the material I finally use the default value of the restoration. reboot and now I'm back in business. Bluetooth, Wifi works.   Not having received a response to my follow-up question/information, I decided to "Just Do It" on mine.

  I deleted the printer listed as the wireless HP6300 and added back, once again as a network printer.  Not "Uninstall".  (I did on each computer using this printer.  Everything worked perfectly.  Both printers still coexist on the same network and works perfectly.

  As far as I know that something like an update of Windows, change the IP address of the "network printer" at the same IP address as my printer 'Wireless '.  When I deleted and added the HP6300, he returned with the correct IP address.  If anyone has another explanation, I'd be interested to hear.  This problem has also affected two of my friends systems.
