Sleebook A8 A10 CPU Upgrade CPU

Hello

I have a new 15.6-inch screen (portable) sleebook HP running an A8 4555 m CPU. Can I switch to an A10? The specifications are

HP Pavillion Pavillion Touchsmart 15 Sleekbook 15-b104au

Card mother 193b87.oc

Any advice would be appreciated.

A10 processors are not compatible with the motherboard as you ultrabook. Your already has the APU more powerful which is compatible with the installed sleekbook series.

    Hello

Usually the CPU upgrade is not possible on laptops because of several reasons.

Well, I put t know if the CPU was only connected or soldered onto the motherboard.

However, it s not advisable to change the CPU. It is possible that after CPU change the laptop overheating for example.

    Hello

As much as I know CPU upgrade is not possible because the processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package). It is a method of permanent connection and is used in the interest of miniaturization and heat dissipation.

The components you can upgrade are modules of RAM or HARD drive with more capacity.

    Dear Forum

I'm curious, if you please, on a Tecra A10, which, at the time of purchase, had installed Windows Vista business.
At the latest date the owner upgraded to Windows 7 (for free I think but I'm not sure).

Windows 7 installation has become corrupted and need a new facility, but a backup has not been made.

Please someone knows if the owner has a way of re - download Windows 7 free of charge, taking into account the existing Windows 7 installation is legal.

    Yours with thanks in advance

I put t know what previous owner did somehow but if possible install clean version of Win7 and not Vista Win7 upgrade. I did it on several machines Vista and now all the machines work perfectly with the clean version of Win7 32 bit.

    Hello

As far as I know that the Sat Pro A10 has been delivered with 3 different drives - 20 GB, 30 GB, 40 GB.
In my opinion the 40 GB is a maximum size of HARD drive support. It is possible that the BIOS could not acknowledge more large drives.

  • Satellite A10: Is it possible to upgrade the processor without changing all the other components

I wonder if anyone might know if it is possible to update by Satellite A10 CPU without changing other components. The laptop has CPU Celeron [R] 2.50 GHz 2.49 GHz, 752MB of RAM.

    Hello

If you look at the technical side, then it s surely possible.

But I can say such things why not:

-performance you earn is based on the costs you have marginal
-you lose your warranty if you open your machine and you want to dare the revocation of your warranty?
-the cooling system is aligned to your CPU, in addition, you will need to write such things as CPU microcode. If the tools to write this weird firmware are available for toshiba technicians and not us :(

I have tried several times with all my toshis and believe me: lose money and be disappointed is a very pleasant pastime :)

  • Satellite L50D-C-18J - two modules of RAM but single track only

    Hi all

A few days ago I got the Toshiba Satellite L50D-C-18J with A10 - 8700P AMD processor.

Factory 1 with 8 GB (DDR3L 1600 MHz) memory module are installed. According to various tools (AIDA64, HWInfo64, CPU - Z), the memory will operate at 668 MHz, that is to say 1333 MHz mode.

The free memory slot I have with another 8 GB DDR3L held at 1600 MHz (with the same memory timings, but other manufacturers). The Bank will continue to operate only in single channel mode and not in dual channel mode. The A10 CPU should support.

I have installed the latest version of the BIOS.

We have an idea of how I have the dual-channel mode and can set the frequency of the memory? In the BIOS, there is unfortunately almost no parameter or someone has the same laptop model and with it dual-channel mode is running?

    Thanks and greetings

    Mario

Hello. Another manufacturer is not a problem.
    You should check the following:
    (1) make sure that the two RAM modules operating at 1.35v. Search the Internet, what should be the supply voltage of the RAM you have installed. If this does not work at 1.35v then that's the problem.
    (2) whether these RAM modules supports ECC. If one of your RAM supports ECC and the other is not, that's the problem.

  • Installation of Windows 7 (64 bit) on a 500-089 Pavilion

    Hello...

The computer is a HP Pavilion 500-089 with an AMD A10 CPU, Radeon graphics card, card mother MSI MS-7778, containing the chipset AMD A75 and 8 GB of RAM. The vehicle is currently Windows 8 is installed on the hard drive.

I would like to install Windows 7 (x 64) on the partition where Windows 8. I would do this while keeping my recovery and other partitions intact, just as it has been partitioned at the factory. In other words, I want to keep the GPT partition table, it came with.

I want to be sure about the BIOS settings, that I needed to change to it. My view is: 1) disable Secure Boot in the BIOS (the UEFI firmware) under Secure Boot Configuration, 2) Enable Legacy Support

Then I'll be able to start the installation of Windows 7 (64 bit) of the DVD, and will my GPT recognized and uncompromising of the installation?

I know running Windows 7 does not have any support from HP. That's why I need to keep the GPT and all partitions intact original.

For what it's worth, I would also suggest HP seriously consider adding Windows 7 to their list of operating systems supported on other computers 'Windows 8 '.  W7 is a proven operating system.

    Hello

Yes, if you meet the two steps that you mentioned before installing Windows 7, it should work fine. But owning a www.hp.com and download the necessary drivers before installing Windows 7. So that you don't have to run around to download drivers once you install Windows 7. If you have problems during the installation, you can read back the same message.

  • Upgrade CPU on Satellite Pro A10

    Hello

I have a PSA15E A10-IN running a celeron 2.0 chip. Anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the processor and if what chips it would take? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

In most cases, the upgrade of the CPU is not possible because of the BIOS and chipset restrictions.
But sometimes it is possible to use a different CPU, which is supported by the chipset.
I have no idea what chipset supports your laptop, but you can check this in the Device Manager or you could install some hardware diagnostic such as Sisoft SANDRA or Everest Home Edition software.

Then, you can view properties chipset Intel ARK on page for a list of compatible processors.

However, Satellite Pro A10 is very old and I doubt its value to upgrade the processor because you won't see a great performance.

    Hello Steve

If you Google a bit you will find some A10 units come with Intel Celeron 2.5 GHz processor. Maybe you can use it to upgrade.
Speed of the bus on this unit is 400 MHz.

  • Satellite A10: Question CPU Upgrade

I want to improve my laptop with a new processor.
(Material) socket ist a 479. But when I ask about my current CPU Intel, he said my it's a 478.
The Chipset is an Intel 852/855 GM/GME, Intel ChipsetUtility.

I'm a bit confused on the different data on the socket.
    With processors will fit?

    Hello

I m not sure about the CPU socket in the Satellite A10 but I use the tool called Everest home edition and this tool provides all the necessary information on the type of socket and other important information from the CPU.

But as far as I know the Satellite A10 and Pro A10 has been bundled with hardware specifications different and different CPU's.
It seems the Pentium 4-M Intel and the Intel Mobile Celeron CPUS are compatible:

    Mobile Intel Pentium 4-M model
Basic operation a processor 1.80/1.90/2.00/2.20GHz Pentium 4 with clock internally 1.80/1.90/2.00/2.20/1.20GHz, 400 MHz bus, and 1.30/1.20V
    Mobile Intel Celeron model
Basic operation of bus 400 MHz, a 1.80/2.00/2.20GHz with a clock Celeron processor internal 1.80/2.00/2.20GHz and 1.30V

But I put really recommend t the upgrade of the CPU.
As far as I know the firmware must be updated after the replacement of the processor and motherboard. If you n updated microcode t the CPU will run only at 600 Mhz.

    Be careful!

  • Satellite A10-131 CPU upgrade

I want to change the CPU in my machine. I wonder if she would support PIV - M 2, 6 GHz with 512 KB L2 or PIV Centrino 2 GHz with 2 MB of L2 cache. Can someone help me? I know that I can swap the CPU in this machine, because I did it earlier. I just want to know if it supports these processors I mentioned.

    Thank you
    Marek

    Hello

As much as I know this device was delivered with an Intel Celeron 2.5 GHz 400 MHz FSB Processor
Usually it s not advisable to change the processor on the laptop because of an overheating issues and pre-installed software (ie. utility chipset). For most the CPU is fixed on the motherboard and you cannot remove the cpu.
He should also know that if you change the CPU or you open Notepad, you will lose the warranty.
In this case, you can do any replacement at your own risk!

  • Tecra A9 - after CPU fan upgrade works constantly at full power

    Hi all

I have 3 Tecra A9 notebook that came with a Core2Duo T7100 clocked at 1.8 Ghz with 2 MB of Cache. Updated every 3 to a T7700 clocked at 2.4 Ghz with 4 MB of Cache. According to Intel, these two processors TDP is 35W. Books don't get really hot and not hot. The CPU FAN starts right full power after the display of the BIOS with the Toshiba Logo screen. Under Bios Version 2.1 on all 3 systems, having the same behavior on all 3 systems. CPU properly recognized under Windows XP, Win7, and Win10. Is it possible to get the adjusted to normal CPU fan? The system isn t is hotter than upgrading the CPU, just for some reason any BIOS has now decided the fan must operate at full power. I even traded one of the CPU Fans with that of a Tecra A10 notebook but had the same effect as with the original fan. Having no idea what I could do. I hope for your help!

    Best regards
    Bornchiller

I think that needs calibration to be performed to configure the table of fan speed.
Toshiba Service Center to do this.

  • HP pavilion 15-p263ca: I can upgrade the CPU in my laptop, or is he doomed to have speeds(1.9-2.4gHz) low overclocking forever?

I want to upgrade the CPU on my laptop, but I don't know if this is possible or where to look to see if there is. This is hp Pavilion p263ca 15.

Processor AMD A10 is an APU, which means it's a graphic processor/card combination.

I believe that you are at the top of the mark on the hardware configuration of your model series.

Unfortunately, I do not know how the processor works.

Without a doubt, it's automatic and no user intervention is necessary or possible.
