Slightly broken headphone jack

Its got very loose over time, and now the sound a little cut if any small amount of pressure is put on the card. Its really annoying when I plug it into my sound system and it comes all together Cup but not so much with the headphones. It seems that the part of the plug (welded internally to the Board of Directors) is loose. This same thing happened to me years ago with a CD player, except that finally it's just broken off. It is while I've learned to unplug my headphones when I put it on. But anyway, this kind of thing covered by my warranty buy better? If not, whether, its not awkward...

If not the Best Buy (you will need to check or ask them), then certainly 1 year of SanDisk warranty covers it. It takes a little more time to get a replacement, but they do, and it will cover 100% (sometimes more).

I have a Studio XPS 1645, which has two outlets of output for headphones, fortunately.  One of the damaged, by a rough out of the helmet I think.  The plug is loose and always think there are headphones, so my speakers will not play.  Since I have some headphones, I can even plug my speakers in my computer and listen to music etc, but it is inconvenient.  What possible fixes are there that will allow me to reuse my laptop speakers?

Your model has a circuit made replaceable helmet that you can replace. See section lV of the Headphone Jack FAQ for more information on getting the part. You can download a service from Dell manual that shows how to disassemble the laptop to do the repair.

Section V of the FAQ has a software solution that should work for your model.

  • Headphone Jack is broken, no sound from speakers.

I have a HP ProBook 6560 b.  Recently, due to my fault, the audio jack where we could plug headphones stopped working.  That's all fine and dandy with me, except for the fact that the computer audio will not play through the speakers.  I tried looking through the properties of the speakers, and they show that they play sound.  However, no sound from the speakers.  I tried to install the drivers RealTek HD Audio such as suggested by other sites, but nothing seems to work.  Of what I collect, with the way that the headphone jack is damaged, he still reads the helmet as occupied by a 3.5 mm for the record.  I would like be able to disable the headphone jack and be able to hear the sound on the speakers by default once more.

    Hope this helps

  • Fixing headphone jack, or use another thing?

    1. Compaq CQ2014 desktop computer; 2 Win7 Home Premium 64; 3. no; 4. transfer data (not Windows system) to old hard drive.

Our front headphone jack seems to be broken or defective. Several headphones connected that barely register in the Realtek HD Audio Manager included console, or not at all; When they work, the sound is either in the left ear only, or mono. Before USB plugs and connections in the back seem OK.

Saw the Microphone/headset combos which plug into USB (~ $ 22)... that would be compatible with the Realtek system? Alternative seems to be the entire Tower shipped for warranty service in another State that would take days, after we have already lost some weeks that followed the disaster with the old computer which requires obtaining of it.

    Hello

In my view, the replacement of the FRONT plug is a piece of cake. BACK is sloldered to the motherboard, but the front is not just the cables and the plug itself (unless the case is a fantasy).

  • the iPad headphone jack fault

HI, I own an iPad iPad 4 mini and an iPad2

There is a week iPad headphone plug 4 went in one channel and was sent for repair.

last night, taken to mini helmet iPad went extremely crunchy before a few hours later the iPad died completely.

Headphone Jack even night iPad 2 does not recognize a put jack in and goes to the headset mode.

I like to use iPads for Djaying but cant help thinking that the helmet in all iPads is lower

advise please because I can not continue to pay for repairs and lose the job because of this problem.

    Thanks in advance

You can try to check the ports for any debris as well as the verification of the other end of your equipment. It is rare that the iPads fail together so by chance in order to check the other end of this cable.

  • Portege R100 - defective headphone jack

Headphone 3.5 mm on my R100 hole seems to be defective (I tried it with another helmet and with them the sound is distorted unless I managed to get the plug in the right position).

I will provide Toshiba on this subject shortly, but I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this component replacement is a simple procedure?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Dan,.

The headphone jack is a pretty basic device that can usually be bought quite cheaply from most electrical spare outlets. The real problem is to find a repairman that will repair to the component level. Nowadays, the trend is to replace a whole PCB rather than simply weld on a new component.

According your description of the problem as it sounds as if we spring metal tags is either loose or bent and therefore does not sufficiently wityh contact the helmet when it is inserted.

If your laptop is still under warranty, then it should be replaced at no charge.

If your warranty has expired, it may be useful to check for repairers of local PC that quote ' component-level) repair services.

    Good luck

    > I tried searching the Web to find a replacement headphone jack card, but still I had no chance.
You want to replace the headphone jack online?
I doubt that you will be able to do this because something like that does not exist.
Microphone and headset is part of the motherboard, and if something was wrong with the ports/Sockets then in most cases you will need to replace the motherboard.

  • Helps the headphone jack!

    Welcome.

So about 4-5 months ago, I bought a brand new HP Pavilion PC g6.
A few months later (2-3) I started to have problems with the sound. Whenever I plugged the headphones, the sound would not come to her. First of all, I thought it was the helmet that I was using. It turns out that it wasn't. Then I thought it was something with audio players or anything else. (Control Panel-> hardware and sound-> manage audio devices). It turns out that it wasn't.

The problem started as my helmet is sound but cut wide in some places. I have to play with the headphone jack and move it a bit to get the sound. At that time, portable headphone plug was already loose. Then, for about 5-10 minutes, something really strange happened. His was no more. I couldn't not all the sounds if it was for my headphones or speakers of my laptop.

After about 10 minutes, the sound is back after a reboot. However, the sound was weird and glitch. I mean, is that whenever I plug in the headphones, 55% of the sound would come through them, but the other 45% would come out of my laptop speakerks.
Yet once again, I thought it was the helmet, but no. Even with multiple changes of helmet and try them on different computers, the headphones were great. I started thinking that it was the helmet being loose which caused all these problems. I started to look for solutions. I came across a post of aid for the same issue: being loose headphone jack.
Most of them said that if the helmet was not directly related to the motherboard, that the issue would be fixed easly.

    My question is:
    (1) how will I know if the headset is connected to the motherboard directly?
    (2) how can I fix the problem if;
    (a) it is directly connected.

    (b) if it is not connected to it directly.
    (3) the headphone plug is loose have EVERYTHING link to my sound works does not correctly.

Thank you and more information will be provided on request.

Additional information: I know that HP laptop computers have a 1 year warranty, however, how do I check for mine?

    Hi kamel.

    1. with the hardware problems, it is best to contact support for your options before going inside the laptop.

    2. If you notice that you are not covered by your phones warranty, if you provide me with your laptop model number, I'll see if there is a maintenance and service guide. (another workaround of the guarantee is to get a USB headset connected)

< How can I find my laptop model number >: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

    3. Yes, he seems to have everything to do with the question.

It may have something to do with the upgrade of the Microsoft Vista?

    Hello

Have you tried plugging a headset to the headset jack to see if it would work?

This external sound card is not only known to me and I ve no experience with this device, but using the helmet you could check if this problem is related to the headphone jack or another part.

On the other hand if you use Win XP then you can check the settings in device-> Realtek HD audio Manager manager.
There is a tab called Audio i/o.

Plug in headphones and see if they would be activated it.

You can use a headphone jack as a Mic In on iPhone? I need an external MIC for video production...

N ° however, headphones with microphone and the proper plug on the headphones provided with it, then you can use this microphone. You might associate your own plug, taking care to use tape appropriate to connect the microphone during the deactivation of one for the headphones. Don't forget the microphone you are using matches the impedance of the microphone of the device.

    Hello

As a result of obvious negligence, I broke the hack of headset plastic on the front of my A100 until still accept a but is barely staying in there.

Anyone know if its easy to replace by myself with a soldering iron and the part? How it is connected to the card?

    Thank you

    Hello!

Normally the headphone jack is soldered/fixed on the motherboard, and this means that you need to replace the motherboard together. In addition, the laptop must be disassembled full and it's a little tricky.

In your case, I would go to an authorized service provider. Speak with the technician and then you'll see what they can do for you and how much it costs. I think this would be the best option.
