SlimType dvd a ds8a2l ata device only reads CD/DVD
I have a laptop HP g60-120em with slimtype dvd a ds8a2l ata device dvdrom.
When I try to read some discs (Sims3 for example) the drive sounds like it works and keeps going, but never shows anything.
Ive tried to do a regedit and there are no upperfilters or low filters in the destination: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Ive also has run the diagnostics tool FixIt from microsoft, who could not solve the problem and said that the media were illegible.
Ive tried the CD in another computer and it is readable, even if TI coulds not install
Please please help me, Ive spent the last 6 hours trying to fix and continue to flock to the top with the same methods, which do not work for me!
up to date and im the driver does not receive error messages. the drive will read other CDs but does not read certain DVD or CD.
I'm about to snap and throw my laptop out the window! Help, please
Try the following to see if they help you (you've already tried this, but I doubt you checked everything (and there are two Mr. Fixits so I know there are new things that you can try)).
When you insert a CD or a DVD, Windows Vista may not recognize the disc

Well that drivers is "up-to-date", I'd like to try to go to the web site of the manufacturer for the most recent (even if it is the same version) and download and install to exclude the possibility that it has become corrupt - but just enough to cause this problem and not enough to turn off the player or be recognized by the Device Manager. If she need also of firmware or software, download and install it as well.
If none of this works, then we can do a more thorough diagnosis or you can take it to a computer for the service repair workshop. If you want to try some generic troubleshooting, then return and I'll post the procedures (they are long enough). You can always take it to a computer repair shop if none of these solves the problem (but there is a chance that one of them will work and then it's just the time and effort instead of money).
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Hello
First of all, I would like to thank you in advance for your help.
I had the problem of my HL - DT - ST DVDRAM GSA - T40N ATA Device not reading anything into the drive and removed the filters. It is still not working properly, and it's the rare occasions when he did (after hitting enough lol) and I needed it to work again. I disabled the device and rebooted before her reactivation. Although it works now it has unfortunately fizzled. It is now only installed as a CD player and it used to be a DVD player. Before it stopped working TI played DVD 100% fine as well so it should be good.
Here is some info on my laptop:

CD/DVGW TSSTcorp TS-L632M ATA Device is not reading DVD
Original title: TSSTcorp TS-L632M ATA Device CD/DVGW
I have a HP laptop and have a problem with the DVD device. It doesn't read the DVD - RW. It shows me that the DVD is empty. I tried with DVD which worked without any week issue two or three, but now they are unable to read. I tried to use a Microsoft Fix it on the site, but it could not solve the problem.
Hello
You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly.Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.
CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.Several good info here:

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!
Ideas:
- You have problems with programs
- Error messages
- Recent changes to your computer
- What you have already tried to solve the problem
Always do a job - even in a first time? If so, pilots may have been replaced by a Microsoft Update and maybe that's why it doesn't work anymore. Check the drivers and see if there is an option to restore the drivers to a previous version (which may be supplied with the system when he worked). If so, try the restore and see if that solves the problem. Make sure that it not only reads blu ray disks but can read and burn CDs and DVDs as it should. If not you can always just reinstall the drivers by unscrewing the restore and restore the drivers who were there before you started this effort and again to confirm that it still works except for playing blu ray discs.
I don't see the point in HP brake a blu ray player that has no driver available for it - I have never actually heard of what happens with a manufacturer or the device installed on the computers they sell. Someone at HP left dropped the ball big time on this one. Maybe HP will give you a free exchange to another blu ray player they may have available for your computer making the drivers for it and who actually works like the one bought you is not - it can't hurt to ask. Check the options first then you can ask to him who is of at least equal quality and is the same price, or maybe a bit more expensive - they can always be arranged because of the problem, they know exists. I guess that it's still under warranty, so that shouldn't be a problem. It's an option-, but the decision is yours.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Question: I noticed some time I could NOT the DVD RW drive to write anything onto a CD - RW, which I try toput some of the 2000 and the saw scroll patterns I have on a CD - RW, I could take the files that I have with me to attend art shows, I have not found a way of not only getting the player to work If I go to my computer, open the file it does not show the E drive or the DVD - RW drive anywhere, I have the entry four for removable disk and J for a flash,
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you

Read this link which has also a few solutions:
Description of errors related to the 10 Code that generates the Device Manager in Windows on computers
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/943104/--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Hello
Norton is known to cause slow downs and other issues. Uninstall and then running
the Norton Removal Tool to stop the remains (even those will interrupt the strange) to load.
Use the recommendations below when testing, even better would be permanently.Norton Removal Tool

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)
Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
Operation of the network.Prevx - Home - free
Windows Firewall
Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)
Protected IE - mode
IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)
I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
right of IE)Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x
Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
disabled - click OK
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-downloadAvast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
Finish those you don't use).
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast
Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.
http://www.prevx.com/ <-->-->
http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp <-->-->PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.aspAlso get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.I hope this helps.

Satellite A300-1ME does not read that DVD only reads CD - R
HY,
My Satellite A300 - 1st Don t read CD - R and CD - RW worse or unburned, it only read´s DVD´s.
Please can you give me a helping hand for this problem.Thank you
Hello
First of all, you should check if are some registry issues.
Go to the register a remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Then restart the device and check if you could read the CD.
I had a lot of problems with different discs (CDs and DVDs) as well
I could solve the problem. the problem is that my CD/DVD drive is not compatible with some CD and DVD from different manufacturersFinally, I bought some TDK CD - R and my CD/DVD player has been able to manage these disks
I think you should check the different discs from different manufacturers too!Last but not least check if there is an update of the firmware of CD/DVD for you, CD/DVD player.
To do this, you should visit checking page European driver Toshiba details more details.
You will find the info if the firmware has been published for you CD/DVD drive.Welcome them

Satellite A300 - search driver for Pioneer DVD - RW DVRKD08A ATA Device
Hello
I have a Satellite A300.
My problem is that the driver for the Pioneer DVD - RW DVRKD08A ATA Device does not work. I have research the Toshiba site for a new driver, but I can't find. Can someone help me?
I put t understand why you need this driver?
What do you mean by player don t work? The Windows operating system contains such driver! It s an own drivers from Microsoft and the ODD should be recognized automatically.
In your case, you should first check if the CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS.
If it s not the case then your new ODD is not compatible or there is a hardware failure. If the BIOS recognizes the drive CD/DVD correctly, but if the ODD is not correctly in the Windows Device Manager (yellow exclamation point) then this could be the problem of registry.
In this case, you should remove the reader of CD/DVD from the list of devices and must restart the new laptop
