Slow connections to the internet wireless

I have problems with my wireless with my brand new Dell laptop running Vista 32 bit.  I spent a lot of time to read about it online but have not been able to solve my problem.  Here are my steps, I took so far

D/led drivers Dell Wireless
-J' uninstalled McAfee Security Center
-disabled autotuning, rss, tcp/ip v6
-Flashed the firmware newest on the router (netgear WGR614 v5)
-set levels of power for maximum performance on battery

Wired product than the internet very fast speeds so it's a wireless issue.  My other laptop running XP THAT works well on wireless so I think it must be related to Vista SP2(even ran the same virus scan programs on both computers).  Some pages load more quickly, but as soon as I'm lulled into a false sense of security on the internet speed, I get hit with a page very slow loading Web or the connection is lost (although I am still connected to my wireless network).

Any suggestions?  This has been a very frustrating and aggravating, issue especially with a brand new computer.

Thank you.

Hello

You can check your connection Wireless at a library or other WiFi spot just to rule out any problem between
your router and the new system. Have you tried to assign security to WPA and make sure that you broadcast
SSID that some routers and systems have problems. If disable you (OFF) the system XP is there a difference in the way
the new system works with the WiFi connection?

Security/antivirus/antispyware products could also play a role here, even if the same as those on XP seem to
work well. Were there more of them on this system even if you have uninstalled them when they leave often remains
which may cause strange problems.

Try actually updated your driver on the site of the manufacturer of the device if possible, and by disabling the network logon.

It's the generic drivers up to date, and you did the part at Dell.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

I have a wireless internet connection for my laptop. Connect the ethernet cable from your computer to any other ETHERNET port on your router. Finally turn the monitor for your router.

If you do not do so in this order, the router can not connect properly to the internet because it doesn't have the correct IP address of your modem.

    Hello

    Okay, so my situation here.

I can not connect to internet on my Dell Inspiron running Vista. It happened about two weeks ago. I have an Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN.

I know for sure, is not my router or my wireless laptops. I can run Linux (on a flash drive, no dual boot) just fine and it recognizes everything perfectly. It doesn't matter if I'm at home or on campus. I can not connect anything.

I suspect I've changed some settings, like all the it started happening shortly after that I was playing with the Linux CLI. When I booted into Vista, I could not connect.

I tried Googling and can't find a clear answer. Maybe my DHCP or IP settings are confusing? I think I have to delete some registry keys, or something... not too sure.

  • My laptop does not connect to the Internet wireless or Ethernet.

Hi my laptop does not connect to Internet via Wi - Fi or Ethernet connection. He previously connected the two. The model is a portable HDX-18 1201 and runs the Windows Vista 64-bit operating system. I have had the laptop for a while now and this is the first time that this has happened. I tried to locate the network drivers but can't find them on the Device Manager. To my knowledge, I have not changed anything on the computer that may have caused this. If someone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Richard

    Hi Richard,

Search for the latest drivers for your model laptop from the HP site and then try if operate you, install it, for the wireless and Ethernet cards

just download the drivers from the HP website through another computer, copy it to MemoryStick and install the drivers on your laptop and see if it detects it fine, and then it should work Fine.

If you try to connect your printer to the router, you should make sure that wireless Direct is trurned to offshore. Direct wireless is a feature that allows you to connect a device directly to your printer without router (the printer generates its own wifi)

Hello guys! I recently bought a Toshiba laptop - Satellite L300-1DN and I can't connect to the internet wirelessly or by cable.

I tried to turn on the wireless button and my laptop recognized my network without wire from my house, but he just not able to connect. Then I tried to connect the cable, but my laptop itself connected to an 'unidentified network' and the internet still does not not :(

The internet works perfectly fine for my old laptop and my other roommates. So I guess that is not a problem with my router itself.

Are there devices listed as "other"?

If there is, run as 'Administrator' Device Manager and do a right click, properties, [pilot tab] and try to "roll back driver" (I guess the update driver will not work if the PC is not connected to the internet, but it can also be worth a try)

If this does not work, try to force the hardware detection - http://www.pctips3000.com/how-to-scan-windows-7-computer-for-newly-attached-hardware/

If still no joy, use another PC to go to the support site for the brand/model PC and download the latest driver available for your PC and the operating system network card (32/64 bit, etc.) and transfer it to the PC via a USB or SD card. Then try to install it.

BIOS - how you access the BIOS will depend on the brand / model of the PC and the BIOS itself, but it gives an example: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/accessbios.htm give it a read and see if you can follow. Ensure that you change and not change things randomly.

    Help, please.

    Hi Phil,

To answer your questions in full, it would be quite a task but here is my simple guide: -.

    1. connect to the internet

1.1 choose an ISP (provider of Internet Sertvice) and get a CD with the software and the connection information.

1.2 load the CD and follow the onscreen instructions to set up your login information.

1.3 If you use dial-up connect your cable modem to your laptop and the other end to your telephone line.

1.4 If you are using broadband services to connect your CODEC to your USB port and the other cable to your microfilter attached to your telephone line.

1.5 DO NOT START YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION UNLESS YOU HAVE ANTIVIRUS RUNNING ON YOUR LAPTOP.

1.6 Click START-> CONNECT TO-> the connection created in 1.2 above

For the wireless connection, the procedure is similar braodly but you need a router or wireless modem connected to your telephone line and properly configured in Notepad you.

Follow step 1.5 with a lot of attention. If you connect to the internet without anit-virus software and firewall appropriate, it will be only a few seconds before your laptop computer will be infected with a form of virus. Please be careful.
