Slow performance HP Pavilion laptop problems

Very recently, I bought a laptop HP Pavilion. It has Windows 8 and arrived in the mail, no more than a week ago. The first thing I did after that the mandatory installation process was to restore the files from my old laptop (which broke) via ClickFree (currently I have 625 677 GB free) and once that was completed, I installed several programs (office, Vipre, Photoshop, etc.). Apart from that, I did very little about the real hard disk of the computer, since I save everything externally on my ClickFree.

My problems started occurring rather suddenly, Wednesday morning. In Firefox, I opened a tab for go on Facebook, and scroll the RSS seemed pretty gloomy. I closed the tab, but the slow pace continued in the other tabs, I had opened and then spread to the programs not involving is not the Internet. These problems have worsened gradually.

On the Internet, the performance is particularly slow. I gave up video players like Netflix, because they freeze the browser to the point of crashing. Page loading is very delayed, even typing this message experiences freeze, despite the fact that I have nothing else running in the browser. There is warning of frequent messages in scripts and plugins does not (although, ironically, these messages are often unresponsive until I finish the script or the offending plugin). It is difficult to do anything on the Internet, such as the loading of pages and tabs of switching may take several minutes. Just clicking can cause the browser to freeze for minutes at a time.

Off the Internet, programs load extremely slowly, often freezing. Opening files sometimes, with an increase in frequency, translates into a green loading bar at the top of the screen. Sometimes this bar gets stuck and cannot finish, and I can't access the contents of the file; This happened when I tried to open the Panel, to get more specific information about the computer to include in this message. Sometimes programs, such as video players, open without actually playing the video file, or they open at all. Often these programs freeze and sometimes hang; the desktop and the Explorer bar at the bottom of the screen (with the start menu, etc.) are not likely to freeze or disappear, for varying degrees of time. When I came to the computer, CPU utilization averaged about 4-6%, but now he's averaging 40 to 60%.

Start the computer became too long and hard. The last time that I restarted, I entered my password only to get a completely black screen for at least half an hour; My office and the icons have appeared when I pressed Ctrl-alt-delete. After that, I stopped to turn off the computer (it was not a long time ago). This morning, I opened the laptop to connect, but received only a "Please wait" while the computer has tried to load the login page. It took 10-15 minutes, and then I was finally able to enter my password.

These issues are getting worse, and I'm sure I'm forgetting several, but I think that what I've included enough to illustrate my problem. This is a new laptop, but it works almost as bad as my old laptop, which became unusable recently and had to be replaced with this one. I can't imagine what is the cause, but I really wish she was fixed. I installed a program called Fix - It Utilities (the installation disk supplied with the notebook) to try to improve the performance of the laptop, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello ValentineKills. I understand that the computer is slow. I will do my best to help you!

This can be caused by a hardware failure or a software/driver/virus conflict. However, we won't know until the diagnosis is made.

I'll provide a few official documents that provide information on how to speed up the computer. I want that you follow all the steps in all documents. In this way, if the problem exists, it will restrict the root cause. Here are the documents that I want you to try:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2746761

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03460887

Since you're under Windows 8, I have a further suggestion: complete all updates to Windows, and then upgrade the computer to Windows 8.1. While the operating system is upgraded, try to use the computer and see if the speed is any different.

Please reply when you have finished troubleshooting. I'm only here to help!

  • Satellite A205-S5864 - stop itself and the slow performance

I'm new to this forum, so help me out anyway you can.

I noticed that my Toshiba laptop showing odd behavior lately. She recently began to stop himself suddenly without warning. We arrived at the point where it is a regular occurrence. I don't know what it is, if the computer is starting to show it's age, or a hardware problem, etc.. I hope that's not die because this computer begins to happen over two years. The computer knows that he was arrested not because I get the message that this was not decommissioned and how I want to start in.
I also noticed that, even though I have a core 2 processor, the computer takes awhile to start. I don't know how to improve the performance, because I regularly clean the registry and trash. I have norton 360 along with spyware blaster.

any input would be appreciated. I will post more details that are necessary.

    Hello

I m not A205 owner but on my computer Toshiba laptop, I got the same problem it stops and the reason was a higher internal CPU temperature. So I ve looked in the forum and founded an interesting article on the cleaning of a Toshiba laptop. That's why you need compressed air and you can clean without disassembly.
    Check this box!

Your slow performance it of difficult to say something on this issue, but in most cases it s advisable to reinstall Windows.
In my opinion the Norton antivirus slows performance a little so I m using the software tool free AntiVir.

BTW, did you remove Toshiba TEMPRO?

  • Qosmio G30-126 (PQG32E) - very slow performance of HARD drive

I have improved my Qosmio G30 126 at 4 GB of Ram, SSD 64 HDD as windows7 boot partition and 500 GB 7200 64cache HARD drive as drive HARD secondary but I have a very slow HARD drive performance when working in windows7, but when I work on a virtual machine Windows XP, the disk HARD perforemance is fine.

I've upgraded all drivers from toshiba.com for windows7 ultimate 32-bit drivers including drivers from the chipset intel but my problem is not solved. I also check all other performance issues and its OK.

The same problem exsists on my old HARD drive on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.

I used HD tune software to check my HARD drive it accelerates gives about 100bps in windows 7 for my SSD and it gives 285mbps (this is the actual read speed) in the machine virtual Windows XP and the actual speed is significantly different.

Please tell me what to do because I suffer from my laptop very slow and spend a lot of mony on it without more.

    Hello

To be honest it is really hard to tell why you have slow HARD drive performance but especially it s associated with a large number of programs they are running in the background. How many processes are started after Windows starts?

Also, the antivirus program may affect the performance of the computer. I would recommend using the AntiVir freeware tool and the Windows Firewall. That's enough if keep you Windows up-to-date and use a new Internet browser.

Also check the other discussions of the forum on the slow performance. You can find a lot of useful tips to improve performance. For example:
    -Defragment HARD drive
-Disable the startup programs you don't need
    -Uninstall unnecessary programs
-Run the CCleaner tool to remove old registry keys

  • Satellite A200-1BP: very slow performance

I'm not completely satisfied with the performance of my laptop Satellite A200-1BP.
It is so slow that I expected although it has 2 GB of ram.

    What could be the problem?
It is thanks to Norton Antivirus what?

How can I configure my phone for maximum performance?

    Someone help please!

Maximum performance is fairly general term. I hope that you know very well that Vista needs far more resources than Windows XP Home edition and, in general, it might be a little more slowly. Of course, performance is dependent on all the background running processes.

To be honest, the first thing I did is to delete preinstalled Norton. I'm sure that without Norton System work better. Please also check all the tools and utilities that begin with OS (START > RUN > MSCONFIG) and disable all the stuff, you do not need.

What you can also do is to disable all hardware components, you must not like modem or PCMCIA slot. As you can see there are many ways to optimize the operating system and to run faster.

I use a Satellite T110-11U running windows 7 Home premium.

After having initially was very satisfied with its use, it now becomes more and more frustrating to use with wifi, with connections dropped and very slow performance.

I have updated the BIOS and think I have updated all drivers wirelss, but could be the problem. It seems that wireless, software of management is at fault because the networks are detected, but not clinging.

Any suggestion or tips to try will help save my sanity!

    Thanks for your help.

    > have updated the BIOS and think I have updated all drivers wirelss, but could be the problem.
If you need to make sure that you use the latest WLan driver.
The driver can be downloaded here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

The laptop uses the Realtek RTL8191SE of WLan card.
Please also reset the settings of the Wlan router. I had a lot of problems with my WLan and after the reset of the router, performance problems disappeared.

  • Very slow performance with Windows 7 on i7 Quad

I bought my wife a Lenovo E530 i7 quad with screen 1600 x 900 and running Win 7 in September 2012. Previously, she had an Asus Core 2 Duo also with Win 7. The laptop is used to picture (scanning, editing, cataloging) work, family, the navigation and email history.

The E530 was desperately slow at the beginning. Not better, not faster than the Asus. Performance seems to vary from slow to excruciatingly slow.

    Features include:

    -very slow to open programs

-slow to react to the choice of menus and clicks

-slow to react to the touchpad

-scrolling is not smooth, vibrates, much worse than Asus

-often distorts the sound and video, audio stutters

-IE9 make often video has properly - green band across the bottom with the rest of the colors shifted upward - change the video quality will fix it sometimes

-very slow internet response compared to the other machines on the same network of navigation.

However, startup speed seems to be OK.

I spent weeks (months?) through the forums, verification of updates, deletion and restoration of various programs and drivers looking for driver clashes. I tried the clean boot with only Windows drivers and various other combinations, and it made no difference.

For a long time wifi would be max 54 Mbps but somewhere through the process he begins to operate at up to 300Mbps.

Nothing seems to stand out in reports on health of the system and the event viewer. Windows experience scores seem to be everything I expected from my older i7.

Resources and performance monitor reports a problem with the hard drive:

The average disk queue length = Max 16 = 106

    %Idle = 0

    Disk read/s Ave = 0.093 Max = 3

    Disk sec/Transfer Ave = 0,067 Max = 1

    Disk s/write = 0.022 Ave

Even when the computer runs slower the CPU usage, and memory usage is not mounted and ceiling ever.

SFC report any breach of integrity.

FixIt MS - slow performance does not detect any problems.

The disk check is not a problem any.

It's so frustrating that my wife threatens to throw it in the trash and buy a Mac (the horrors :-)).

Any ideas on what I might have missed or what I should look at?

    Thank you

  • iPad Pro 9.7 "slow performance on wifi

Hi all - looking for Apple's brain trust land on this one.

I recently bought the new Pro peripheral 9.7 "iPad (wifi and cellular) and have noticed a lot of slow performance when you use it on a wifi network.

I also have an iPhone 6s so decided to compare the two head to head, both on the same wifi network. Going to the same sites, YouTube, download my diary, it's okay - 6 bulbs just with speed so that the iPad Pro chugs and takes significantly longer to download exactly the same content. The old iPad Air that I used to use never had this problem. The problem doesn't seem to be the same thing with WiFi cell, just the one. It connects to the wifi network is fast blisteringply so I exclude the network being the issue. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

I must say im very disappointed iPad pro account $ 1300 or so I paid for it. I am strongly considering to return.

    Details: iPad Pro 9.7 "128 gb Wifi + 4 G Gold

    running iOS 9.3.1

    All advice appreciated.

    Mike

Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by pressing the sleep/wake and Home buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with the Apple logo and then release the buttons?

    Good luck

  • Satellite A200-1TW - slow performance even with a SSD HARD drive

I replaced the HARD drive of 160 GB for a Seagate Momentus XT 500 GB and even a Samsun 830 256 GB SSD, but my HARD drive performance is very slow.

How can I increase the performance of my HARD drive?

I have 4 GB of RAM and I am using Windows 7 Home.

What do you mean exactly by the slow HARD drive performance.

As far as I know the laptop supports a SATA I (1.5 Gbit/s / 150 MB/s) the HARD disk controller.
Even if you would upgrade the laptop with a SSD drive that supports 3 Gbps, the controller could slow performance.

  • Satellite A60 (PSA60E): slow performance

    Hello
I have the laptop above. the performance of this laptop is terrible, when I start an application it takes up to 10 seconds before opening the windows of the app.
specs. family BIOS 1.90, win XP Edition version, 192 MB internal. It is a normal standard a60 with none of the exceptional items.
Someone at - it a trick to speed up performance.

    Hello

As you know there are several reasons why the laptop is running slowly.
Before any if multiple processes are running in the background for the operating system is running slowly. You should check the background processes in the Task Manager and try disabling no important processes.
Then it is possible that a virus will decrease the performance of your laptop.
In this case, you must update the antivirus application.
The antivirus application that runs on your laptop and monitor background processes may also be responsible for slow performance.

But the best way is to install fresh OS. The laptop runs always faster with the installation of claire. Alternatively, you can upgrade the memory to increase the performance of your laptop.

  • Freeze the satellites L850 (PSKDLV), slow performance

    Hello

I have a Toshiba L850-B120 with more than a year, works perfectly.
    WIN7 Home Basic, 640 G HDD, ci5 3210 M, 4 GB Ram, ATI 7670 M

As soon as the same day where its out of warranty, it started freezing and hang on any application or no navigation, search or regular work. IE blocks, blocks Chrome, wifi is not responding.

    very slow windows startup...

Note: BIOS has been updated 2 months in v6.7 under the EU for Win 7 update.
Intalled OS is Home Basic 7 via Toshiba temporomandibular.

I went back to the factory (out of the box) twice and again the same problem after a day or two.

How to check for hardware conflicts?

No new software installed, no. Windows Update turned on so I'm excluding the chances of any question of software!

    Toshiba...
    Help, please!

    > How to check for hardware conflicts?
Well, if you can exclude the problems of the (software) system (and I think you can do this because the laptop should run stable and properly after restoring the laptop) we assume that your laptop problems might be related to malfunction of the equipment.

What part of the material could go wrong function? Well, I m thinking on the HARD drive or memory.
I think you should check if the HARD drive is OK. For this, you can use some HARD drive diagnostic tools as for example disk HARD drive fitness test.

Of course, you could also swap the HARD drive and was able to recover the laptop using the new disc HARD just to check if the same question would never happen again.

  • Pavilion laptop g6-2200 CTO. Downloader driver AMD does not work

I have a Pavilion laptop g6-2200 CTO provided with Windows 8, I've upgraded to Windows 8.1.

I had a problem with the interface of the software for my HP OfficeJet 4500 All in One Wireless G510n-z which, when I tried to solve this problem, brought several others.

This led to my "reset" and going back to 8. I tried to reinstall 8.1 and had issues with this OS again, so reset again and right now, I'm still on Windows 8 because I'm afraid to go back to 8.1 when 8 seems to work fine... until now.

I posted a few questions on this web site and got a few good reviews... but... I was told I had to upgrade the drivers for the different parts of this computer AND programs, I installed.

I have an AMD processor and went to their web site and downloaded the driver AMD Downloader but it does not work. Is there a setting on this computer crashes or is this something else?

Sorry for the involved explanation but I worked on the overall situation for like a month now and I'm frustrated. Thanks to all those who can help you.

Get the number of the Service tag on the bottom of the laptop (can be under the battery) of your product how do I find my product number or model number once you have the info, use the button at the top of this page titled 'Support', then click on "Download drivers" in the menu. Enter your product number. After you enter the PN, click "Go". On the next page, use the drop-down menu to select your operating system, click Next. A list will populate with the drivers/software.
