Slow printing with HP printer wireless

I am trying to print on a HP B210a printer wireless (via Airport Extreme). The print dialog box indicates that I'm «connected to HPD8F456.local...» "but then it takes forever (sometimes days) for the actual document printing.

After having reinstalled the latest HP drivers, the printer worked fine and then (possibly after a reboot or two) came back to the same problem, which seems to persist if my Mac is connected to the network via Ethernet or Airport.

I'm using OS 10.5.8 with Aiport 5.6.1 and Airport Extreme utility 2nd gen.

Open the Console in utilities & see if there are clues or from recurring when messages occurs.

  • Extremely slow printing wireless with HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m

I see extremely slow print speeds when printing from a Mac or a Windows XP system on a new printer HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m wireless. The printer starts printing immediately when I request a print, but it only prints one line. It will take about 15 minutes then to print the rest of the page, each print after a very long break line. Print demo page doesn't exhibit this problem, only documents of programs such as Word 2008, Safari, and Firefox (I tried firefox on PC and Mac) are affected.

If I connect to the printer via a USB connection it prints very well, so this problem seems to be the only wireless printing.

    Printer: HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m
Computer: Mac mini (late 2009 model) (also tried a Windows XP laptop, by comparison using the latest drivers from the HP website)
OS: Mac OS X 10.6.2 with all available updates installed
Method of connection: cable Ethernet connection to the router wireless
Printer drivers: version 2.2.1 (Apple provided, drivers HP never installed as system comes with 10.6)
Wireless router: Apple TimeCapsule (early 2009) 1 TB, honing a/d and modes of b/g on 2.4 and 5 GHz. TimeCapsule is in transition as the DSL modem handles DHCP service mode
Encryption: WPA2 Personal, no MAC filtering or hide the SSID.

IP addressing scheme: all addresses are distributed by the server DHCP without reservation of any kind

The TimeCapsule is sitting three inches from the printer and the printer indicates the complete signal. Connecting the printer to the wireless network and setup of the printer on the Mac went off without a hitch. Only when you print a test document discover us the problem. The wireless network will behave as expected when you access Internet from Mac and Windows devices (tested with a laptop computer Dell XP and a MacBook with OS X 10.6.2), so I don't see any problem with the wireless network together.

    Attempt to use:
1 reboot and power off, wait, restart the computer
2 reset the print subsystem, the printer off and on again and reinstall the printer

    3. disconnect the power to the printer and let it sit for several minutes before trying to print wireless.

    None of them worked.

I don't know exactly what is happening... I'll have to think about.

Looks like you're running with the current configuration.

    Can we call this resolved?

  • Very slow printing wireless Photosmart 5524 or do not print

I bought a HP 5524 (CX047B) yesterday and downloaded the drivers from HP (Photosmart-5520 - series_v12.23.0). Today, it seems that the latest drivers are available for OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.3, so now I use HewlettPackardPrint2.13. I used the uninstall HP program before loading the drivers in both cases. Signal Wi - fi is good (Time Capsule from Apple 4th gen). The printer is intended for use by Mac users on a home network. At the moment it does not work properly.

I have not tried yet photo printing... I tried to print an e-mail I received (with diagram) using the USB connection, the results are very good. If I feel like using a WiFi print job shows 'print file accepted' in the queue... but nothing happens for 2-3 minutes, and then if I'm lucky the printer produces the header of the email. The printer then displays a message "Cancel" and ends by becoming free.

So for now, I have a wi - fi network printer that cannot be used f you walk your laptop up to it and use USB.

(FYI I used an HP B209a-m as a network printer wi - fi for 3 years without problem, until he decides for does not wotk earlier this week). Suggestions please. Clive Parfitt

    Reset the printing system:

-Go to System Preferences > print & Scan
-Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
-Select the sign more to add a printer. Select the default tab on the top of the window. Search for the printer, select it, and then beside the dropdown 'Use', select the model of the printer (not AirPrint). Wait for the 'Add' button becomes available. Until it clicks.

Hi, I'm the owner of a new computer laptop asus stealth bomber with windows 7 installed. I feel very slow download speed (50 KB/s - 100 kb/s). My wireless adapter is an Atheros AR9825 came with the laptop. I also tested my ping is the path up to 375. On the other hand, my laptop computer sony Vaio downloads usually at a speed of 1 Mbps. I checked and I'm on the same network it. I use a wireless connection and mistaken by my router and the modem. I have comcast with increase in power and a cisco/linksys wireless N Router and a modem. Any help is appreciated. I also tried the troubleshooter from the wireless network and unplugged then replugged but nothing seems to help. Also, I have the trial of trend Antivirus installed and also took down windows firewall.  I also have the latest drivers installed.

    Hello

Watch Windows Advanced Power Management and make sure that the wireless adapter is configured for maximum performance.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/adv_power-sav.jpg

Try to connect to the wireless router and change the operation of the radio channel.  Ch.1, or 11 are good choices. But you can try them all one at a time and choose the best.

If you don't use WEP security, switch to WPA or WPA2. A lot of maps N work well with WEP.

  • Need help with printing wireless and Air of printing

I have a Xerox printer connected to an Airport Express station and I was able to print wireless from my Mac. I just replaced the Xerox with a Brother printer which has built in WiFi and Air feel, although I can't get anything to work. I entered my password WiFi network directly on the printer. The instructions had me download the drivers that I did and I download a wireless configuration program that asked more than about nothing if I already entered my password of the WiFi network of the printer.

    1. I do not remember how I already had the Xerox facility to print wireless from my Mac. I just plugged a USB cable directly linking the Airport Express to the Brother printer to bypass the built in Brother WiFi and use the Airport Express for internet.

    2. any thoughts on the use of construction vs the Airport Express WiFi?

    3. what should I do do AirPrinting work?

    Thank you.

I use an Epson printer set up as AirPrint rather than as a brother, but I expect the two similar configurations.

All I had to do first was installing the printer on my network domestic wi - fi.

Then in system preferences > printers & Scanners

    Select Add printer

Select the printer and set its AirPrint and add

What printer model is Brother and in fact specifies that it is compatible AirPrint, or just a Wi - Fi connection?

How to set the printer wireless ad Hoc mode to CP1025nw with automatic stop is off? IE never automatic.

Thank you very much for your help, if necessary.

Quite a few questions, send, but I will do what I can to answer them.

I recommend first to buy a router, even if it's one you won't connect to internet and it network with others your PC and printer. This will give you the best features and the results of what you're trying to do.

In addition, the automatic stop of the printer function can be disabled and is not affected by the type of connection. Usually, you can go through the configuration Menu and select tools to change the options there on the energy saving features.

Finally, the auto off function on your computer is a Windows question, but one easy answer. If you're on a laptop, you can right click on the battery in the tray (lower right corner) and change the settings for energy conservation.

You might be better off installing the printer via the USB cord and alternately inspiring when you use it, but which is not optimal if you are printing only a few documents on an irregular basis. A network connection is the easiest to manage across multiple computers, honesty, but you have certain requirements for this connection and limits as well.

I hope this information is useful!

  • Cannot use our new HP Photosmart B210e printer wireless with HP ePrint server.

We bought a new printer HP B210e for our House to be able to print wireless smartphones, laptops and desktop. The first problem was that our main office, which is about 3 years old and under XP would not find the wireless printer. I contacted HP and after several hours, they changed my desktop to be able to see the printer. Alongside this, they configure the printer to have a fixed ip address.

It worked well, but I still cannot print from the photo tray. My wife's office has also had the same problem, but we will stop using this office. Not something we want, but she has a laptop computer.

The main feature that we wanted to use had to be able to send an e-mail to our printer through the HP eprint center. Who has worked on the first day, we have signed, but has not worked since. It seems that our printer cannot connect to the HP eprint center at all. We can send e-mail to our printer through the eprint server. We can see that the e-mail message has reached the server, but the server cannot transfer the email of the printer. We check the Setup wireless on our printer and it is correctly connected to our home network and I can print wireless from my office.

We're fast approaching the decision of the printer to where we bought it. We do not want to, but have no choice unless we can understand how to print from our smart phones.

So I ask for help with the printer or a recommendation on which printer you can buy that actually work on our network wireless home. I tried to find what printer is best for this purpose on the Internet but find that there, the information is just too complicated for us to make a decision.

PS: I see too many complaints about the HP ePrint Center, but very little about HP trying to fix or even acknowledge that they have a problem. I think they do!

I can't comment on the ePrintCenter (maybe it's temporarily down?) but I know that your printer is capable of printing from an iPhone or an iPad... your smartphone you happens to be an iPhone 3GS or 4? If so, you can use the last iOS4.2 that supports AirPrint and print directly to your printer. As long as your iPhone and your printer are both connected to the same network, that is. I hope this helps.

  • Printer does not print wireless with a laptop

I just got the B210A Photosmart more for Christmas and it is all set to print wireless from all the computers in my house except my Dell laptop running Windows Vista home Edition.  Everything says it connects and work, but I'm unable to print.  I just get an error message.

The only thing I am able to print wireless is when I open the Web page the printer by typing the IP address and choosing to print a test page.

All the diagnostic tools, I downloaded everything that the printer is connected and works well.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall again.  Nothing works.  I also have one Mac and a Dell desktop that so many very good wireless printing.

    Help, please!

Have you tried to disable the firewall of your security system?  Have you deleted and added the printer in Control Panel?  If this is not the case, do it in this way:

    1. make sure the printer is on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address before continuing.
    2. click on > start > Control Panel > printers.
    3. click on add a printer
    4. Select local printer
    5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
    6. under device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under the name of host or IP address, enter the host name of the printer (found on the network printer configuration report the generated above). Click Next.
If you get a message about required additional Port information, then the printer is not found using the host name. You can go back and start over or using the IP address of the printer instead of the host name.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard in the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model is not in the list, then select disk provided, browse the CD that came with your HP printer and select the first file begins with hp and ending with INF. click Open, then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If prompted, use the driver that is currently installed.
    9. He will ask the name of the printer - enter a new name or use the one existing. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. we may ask you to share the printer. Make a choice and click Next.
    11. the printing area of Test Page is displayed. Go ahead and print it out.
    12. click on finish.

  • Problems when printing with USB or wireless - offline message

    Hello world

I use a HP ENVY 4500 with a laptop Acer Aspire laptop and a desktop computer HP Pavilion 500, both with an Intel i7 and Windows 8.1. Initially, I configured the printer to work with both PCs wireless. The wireless network is provided by the modem of my provider (Telenet), so it is not very strong I increased it with Devolo powerline adapters. Print is fine, only when I want to print more pages then 3 print job is stopped in the middle of page 4. I get a message that the printer could not print the document, and the page comes out half print. I connected my printer with a USB cable and configured to work with USB, but also wireless. But that Don t always works, today, I tried to print a document from Mozilla Firefox and it would not start. The printer can be used on both sides without choosing the connection?  Also I get the message that the printer is offline and cannot print the document, even if it's actually printing.

When I open the doctor print & scanning everything seems to be ok wth the printer, no defects are detected. Wrong me?

Hello @DenOuwe and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you run into connectivity errors.  I would like to help.

  • print wirelessly with HP Deskjet 3845?

I have a MS Surface Pro under Windows 8 OS. I also have a router with internet connection AT & T Wireless. I would like to be able to print wireless. Is this possible?

    Hi gay,

Your printer has only a USB connector, so it will not directly support wireless.  Some routers may have a USB shared on the network connected printer.

  • HP Envy 4507: Problems with printing wirelessly to my iMac

The printer worked fine without thread when implemented since January 2015. But this week (early May) I can't print wireless. The printer is on my network. I can access it from the iMac using the ip address in the browser, and it seems OK. I uninstalled the HP utility software and it - redownloaded, but when automatic running connect it does not locate the printer. Printers and fax settings I have deleted the printer and tried to readd it. It locates the printer, but it does not automatically select the driver. I manually select and click Add and I tells me that it cannot connect to the printer. When I try and add it via the IP (even tried with a static IP address) I tells me that the printer is not on my network. As I said before this week, it was fine. I tried most of the things on the forums - even at zero complete remission of the printing system on the printer restore to the factory settings and the system prefs and resettign of the printer itself. My OS is 10.10.3 and I use a BT home Hub 5.

    Hi @DrChops,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I'd love to help you with your envy 4507. We'll leave the router and unplug the power cable (NOTE: do not reset the router.), and then do the same with the printer and shut down the computer. After a minute, plug in the router, wait to fully turn on, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light become solid. Once the router and the printer are on, go ahead and re - turn on the computer. This will refresh the network connection.

If please remove and re-add the printer now and let me know if the feeding cycle solves the problem.
