Slow right click with after Windows update

Hi all, I have an annoying problem. He has been doing progressively worse in recent weeks. Since the update to Windows 8.1, I had little other than problems. She added a few features useful, but other than that made things worse in general.

Initially, the problem was barely perceptible at all. I give you right click on a media file and sometimes, perhaps a second longer than usual to bring up the contextual menu. During the last two weeks, he has me longer and longer. Initially, it was mainly only when the right on a multimedia file. I noticed a big change when I tried to rename songs and movies last weekend. When it took 5 seconds to bring up the menu. Since yesterday, who went up to 8 seconds and I also started seeing it when right-clicking on any files, applications or games. Anything really. Another weird thing, every now and then after I right click, he would wait for 8 seconds, the screen would be off almost as if it refreshes and nothing would happen. Sometimes he would even move icons return to their 'default' places before moved me to them. That is an another annoyance. This has NEVER happened before I updated to 8.1.

I have the HP Eny 15-j063ei

8.1 Windows 64-bit

8 GB RAM

1 TB HARD DRIVE

17 - basic 4700MQ 2.4 GHz

740M 2 GB GeForce

I've seen a few people mention when Googling for options, but before I tried something important, that I just wanted to know here if anyone has it or knows how to solve this problem. Brief cool down the laptop everything and starting from scratch.

Hi Gan_Javi,

I understand that you have a problem with a slow right click on your HP Eny 15-j063ei. I'll try my best to help you with this problem.

Here is a document for troubleshoot slow right click context Menu in Windows 7/8 (the steps will be the same for 8.1), which deal with the problems you are having.

I hope this information can help, please let me know how it goes or if you need further assistance.

Take care and have a nice day!

  • Problems after Windows Update on Vista wireless

It seems that other people have a similar problem, but I'll post this new...
I've been running Windows Vista Ultimate on my Toshiba laptop for years without any problems.  Earlier this year, I started seeing issues after Windows updates.  The main problem is that after updates Windows, my wireless network is is more noticed and the wireless card (which was installed on the computer, and never had problems before) is not recognized.  I manually installed updated drivers with no luck.  The only thing that has worked is to do a system restore to a point before the updates.  The problem seems to be related to an update in general, I can't uninstall.

I find it extremely ironic that I have no problems with Vista until Windows 7 is launched. First of all, it's the wireless card, then a problem with a driver graphics card (apparently... which seems to be fixed now) and return to the wireless card.  Should I expect to continue to have problems unless I upgrade to Windows 7?  I can't continue to spend half of my day trying to fix my computer after an update that is supposed to fix the errors, but I don't like the feeling that I am forced to upgrade.

    Hi dabaum77,

From your post, it seems that the issue was occurring when Windows updates are installed automatically again even after the restoration of the system and that is why I suggest to restore the system again to a point before the updates and download and install Windows updates manually.

    Access the link below
Follow these steps to disable the automatic updates:

    1. open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
    2. in the left pane, click on change settings.
    3. under important updates, choose the option you want.
    4. under recommended updates, select the Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates check box, and then click OK. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Install the updates one by one and check the update is causing the problem to occur. If the problem persists due to a particular update, repeat the process and refrain from settling the problem causing the update to.

You can also check the update problem in Windows Update history.

Follow the steps to check which day caused the issue:

    1. open the control panel (all items view), and click the Windows Update icon.

    2. click on the link to view update history.

    3. to view the details of a single Windows Update-
    (A) select and right-click on a Windows Update list, and then click details.

    (B) click on close when finished.

You can also uninstall the update that is causing the problem to occur, although it is not recommended.

    1. to uninstall a Windows Update, you must go to programs and features. There are several ways to find it. One of the simplest is to use the search box on the start menu.

    2. in the programs and features, click the link updates installed.

    3. after a few seconds, Windows Vista will load the list of installed updates. Scroll down the page until you find the update you want to delete, select it with the mouse and then click on uninstall.

    4. Windows Vista will ask you to confirm that you want to uninstall the update you selected. Click Yes and the uninstall process will begin.

5 depending on the size of the update, the uninstall process may take from several seconds to several minutes.

    6. wait for the window above will disappear and, if necessary, restart your PC. The update is now deleted.

  • Vista wireless slowed after Windows update

The operation wireless computer laptop HP Pavilion of my wife was slower than fishing for a month of October or November Vista update.  He was always pretty slow but now is horrible.  I tried many fixes, updates to the wireless card, hit the Max performance and played with several ideas for changing the configuration.  None have seemed help so I reset the settings before configuration changes.  I have no option to reset to get back before the update.

    Hello

Sorry for the late reply. From your description, it seems that your wireless network connection is too slow since the installation of Windows updates. It is difficult to manage when things do not work as expected.

    • Do you know what update has been installed?

Since you've already tried to fix the problem, I think can help to uninstall and reinstall the wireless network drivers. To do this, follow these steps.

    1. Click Start and then type devmgmt.mscand press enter. The Device Manager window opens.
    2. Expand network adapter.
    3. Right-click on the wireless network card, and then select Uninstall.
    4. Restart the computer.
    5. Download and install the latest drivers wireless on the manufacturer's Web site.

Also, see this article for your reference. If the problem persists, please respond so we can search for other opportunities.

    1. If you are using Norton, you should disable Norton inviolable Protection before using the system restore.

And some information for you about Windows updates:

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

'Remove an update - Windows 7'

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/remove-update#1TC=Windows-7

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

    See you soon.

    Hello

What operating system do you use? XP or Vista?

Satellite P100 PSPA3E must use a sound chip Intel high definition audio Conexant CX20551-22.

I recommend to remove the sound card in Device Manager after installing Windows updates.
Then restart the computer and install the latest audio drivers available that support the sound chip HD Conexant CX20551-22.

First of all, you should try to use the driver for the Toshiba page. If this does not work, check the Intel page!
Please don t forget to restart the laptop after windows update finished.

You are correct George: whenever you access the site Windows or Microsoft Update, Windows Update will take care of updating itself. that is, it looks for updates available from the Windows Update Agent or the customer allows you to update your system.

    Since June 21, 2012 a WUA new version 7. 6. 7600. 256 aired by WU to automatically update itself its version now aged 7. 4. 7600. 226 .

The problem you see may occur when there is a version mismatch of the file with the Windows Update Agent files, which is a mixture of old files with the new files. This is due to an installation "or damaged."

You can take a look at your windowsupdate.log file located in your WINDOWS directory, to check the error codes - missing files or failling updated files (especially c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll, wups2.dll, c:\windows\system32\wups.dll or wuweb.dll).
