  I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 bicoeur vista Home premium.

  I have just re installed windows and installed a few games of children. They work well in fullscreen without problems. But after doing a Windows update that they are only now working in a small windowed screen surrounded by black.
  I tried to resize resloution you name and still nothing. But I can't work on it all can help me?

  My computer's resolution is 1280 x 800.
  When I opened a play on 640 x 480 or 1024 x 768 it opens in a small end its surrounded by a black screen screen.

  If I put my computer on 1024 x 768 resolution I can run games on any resolution without problems.
  If anyone has the same problem as me or can help me please write me.

  I think that's not a problem or computer failure.

  As I said, I could read them before fullscreen, I added the external monitor. They were a bit blurry, but I liked better. Kyodai Mahjongg always play at 1024 X 768, but no Tetris 4000 or Atari Arcade.

  I put t think directx will help to run these very old games using the full screen.
  In addition, you should always use the Toshiba graphics driver and not the original manufacturer s driver. The Toshiba driver is a slim original graphic driver version and includes a graphics card, protection against overheating.
  I think that this problem occurs only on some games and other games works ok so I n c ELA think other drivers will solve this problem.

  Three options.
   
  1: take the corners of the window and drag it to the format full screen. Do not use to expand. Close all other windows first via the taskbar and the latter. Windows will remember the size of the last closed window the next time that you open the program.

  Did you recently clean reinstall of the operating system, no malware present, all drivers up to date, no media questions before you reinstall, now, when playing video files in any format, on any media player, full-screen doesn't "stick", but she climbs to view more small window for no apparent reason.  I tried to temporarily turn off anything that might interfere: malware apps, anti-virus, auto updaters, etc., even all the processes which seemed sure to stop temporarily, but after about 20 to 30 minutes to play any video format (mpeg4, avi, DVD disc, etc., full screen will jump to the small window for no apparent reason. When the problem persisted I even downloaded fresh copies of WMP 11, WMP Classic and VLC, but no joy, screen size change continues to happen with all the players, all types of video files. I'm out of ideas. What could possibly be the cause?

  Thank you for your response. I tried your suggestions but they do not solve the problem.  You did, however, lead me to looking at my system settings instead of the settings for the media players - behavior was going on with WMP 11, Media Player Classic and VLC.  I found that, I hope, will prove to be the solution: in Device Manager > Sound, video & Game Controllers > media Remotes > properties I found my video controller (mciavi32.dll) opened its properties > settings > watch the video of 'window' or 'full screen '.  I selected "full screen" and for extra measure of value WMP 11 always open it in full screen. I have not done a test yet further with these three players, but I hope that these parameters will cure the problem. Oh yes, I went to SiS, I already had the latest display driver, but I have downloaded/installed a new copy anyway, just to be certain that my old one was not corrupted in a non-obvious way.

• NtBackup opens small window snd crashes with no Wizard in XP

  

  NTBackup on Windows XP will open a small window with the words header backup utility but no Wizard starts. Not found in the task except to the process manager. x when you try to start!

  A ran chkdsk. Removed all scheduled jobs (Roxio). No oleau32.dll.  No vssui.dll.

  Finally solved!

  Finally able to coordinate with the user to enter in safe mode. Attempt to start ntbackup in Windows in safe mode given the message "Removable Storage Service does not" (or equivalent). AHA!

  Restart in normal mode, see services. Yes, he was arrested. Try to start - it stops immediately with nothing in Event Viewer. Googling that points to the RSM database.

  Then, went to % SystemRoot%\System32\NtmsData, copied all the files to a different folder and deleted the folder. Now the service begins and stay alive. Ntbackup now works. He has lost all the info of the band and the newspapers, but that can be recovered.

  Very happy to put this to bed finally. Thanks to everyone for their help.

• Explore Microsoft windows problem

  Most of the time I use my computer, so im on the internet or do anything, the taskbar suddenly stops working.  Volume stops working, I can not open anything I've minimized in the taskbar. virtually the entire taskbar stops working.  However, I have no problem putting online or using the desktop computer, I am able to do everything except using the taskbar.

  When this happens I usually just keep clicking the taskbar frozen to see if something pops up that can help me and a pop of small windows saying "Microsoft Windows Explorer has stopped working" and then it gives me 3 options:

  (1) close the program and restart windows Explorer

  (2) close the program

  (3) wait for the program to respond

  I clicked on the arrow of additional details and this is what you see:

  It seems that explorer.exe does not respond because it is waiting for svchost.exe:AudioClientRpc.  What I've read, the most likely problem is a problem with your audio drivers, software or firmware.  I don't know why it affects the taskbar, but you're not the first person to have this problem.

  Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.  If you can get in front of the problem, it is perhaps the easiest way to solve the problem.

  If this does not work, go to Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get the drivers, software or firmware (and you should be for all of your audio devices), get the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  Be sure to get the right ones for your specific device and your specific version of Vista.  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. (I suggest you do that now while you think about it so you don't forget to do it later - it can make you save a lot of headaches down the road).   Incidentally (and this is not a complaint) by clicking on desktop icons now open full-screen windows, which suits me very well, but when I hit the screen button "reduced" on a window then all windows to open in reduced format, but ALL are EVEN smaller.  I'll play a little more but thanks again. • CS5.1 opens in a small window of LR4.1RC

  When I send a picture of LR4.1RC to CS5.1 (64-bit), CS5 opens in a small window instead of full screen. If I open CS5 directly from the desktop, it opens full screen. I am running Vista. Is this a bug or something with my OS? Thank you.

  I have thought of it. I changed the properties of the shortcut on my desktop to ' Run: Normal ' to ' run: maximized "and it seems to have cured my problem... Never mind!

• When I open FirefoxI get a small window to sync list drop-down which is empty and crashes firefox.

  Firefox opens ok, but has quickly fall down, small window focused on the top that says "Sync", but quickly empties and reduces the right at the top of the wind. When this happens, it freezes Firefox and the only way out is to leave Firefox. I installed Firefox to the latest version on a Mac OS 10.9.3 of an earlier version.
