Smart failure predicted hard disk. Code 0:ST9250315AS

My laptop continues to send me the message above

Looks like you can contact the manufacturer of the laptop and let them know about the problem.  I guess that the laptop/HD computer is still under warranty?

    Hey, @sumukhreddy!

I'm really sorry to hear about your WD drive problems. However, I recommend you to use Data LifeGuard Diagnostics from WD (DOS version) to test again and check on the health and the SMART State it. The DOS version of the utility will allow you to perform diagnostics without having to boot into any operating system. You should be able to find under downloads by product once you select WD Caviar Blue.  You can extend the WD software link and follow the instructions.

The drive is OEM and most likely came with your laptop, so I recommend you to contact the manufacturer and check the warranty of your laptop. It is always covered, you can RMA and they should be able to provide a repair and the implementation of the defective material.

Good luck! I hope I've been helpful! :)

  • SMART failure on hard drive

    Hi friends,
I have a Sony Vaio VPCCW190X model, which is 2 years old.

Last week, he crashed with a blue screen. I tried to restore it with the CD of recovery for some time, but in vain. It did not work. A few times when the recovery came through, the windows update would break with a blue screen. Sometimes even the recovery did not work and gave me the message that some of the files on the CD were corrupt.

Today, I get a message "SMART failure predicted hard disk. Replace your hard drive. A failure may be imminent.

Please guide me the steps to replace the drive hard if it is the only option.

  • Satellite P215 get SMART failure on hard drive

    Hello

I've had my laptop for a year now, and just recently, I noticed everything using that everything has become much slower and more something else that I couldn't run as much multitasking I could before without the screen freeze and have to wait until he gets treated. The level of multitasking is not serious, I mean that a laptop of this caliber should be able to have a streaming of youtube video play without problem as both messenger and Microsoft Word have. Recently, it has been quite frustrating and makes me want to throw computer laptop in the room, but I persevere. Moreover, I also realized that the game I used to play works is no longer (I wonder if it's the same question)

I formatted the hard drive and installed windows vista (with the CD that was given to me when I bought the computer) and the first time he had actually installation problems I had to do it twice. The second time it has installed fine and it worked for a week and then it started to slow down terribly again.

After restart the computer message popped up indicating SMART: failure on hard drive Hitachi-(s1) 4, so I followed the instructions given by another thread with a similar problem. I tried the hitachi Drive Fitness Test and the program would not even load, it would get to the point where it says «Loading DFT»... ' and he would just stay there... I guess that is not compatible with Vista or something.

What can I do in addition to evidence of the replacement of the hard drive? The cause of the downturn from the computer to the bass and the game does not work because of the HD about to fail? If there is a way to solve this problem, I would like to know

    Thank you
    Michael

In my view the HARD disk, you should be exchanged and Yes, it could be the reason why the computer slows down, and some games do not work.
I had the same problem a few years ago on my desktop PC computer is very slow and I can t install a game. Whenever I tried it, I got a BSOD. Then I switched the HARD drive and everything worked very well.

I put t know why the Drive Fitness Test does not start on your computer, but if you get a SMART error HARD drive should be exchanged permanently.

If your laptop is under warranty, you must contact an ASP. Then the repair should be free.

    Good luck!

  • failure of hard disk drive necessary to reinstall WinXP Home on replacement HARD drive

I have an of Western Digital HARD drive with my system of operating XP Home 32-bit installed on my primary C: drive.

I have run the Diagnostics tool online to WD for the reader who found intractable errors on the disc, which indicates an imminent drive failure and an email their technical support confirms the disk needs to be replaced SOON before she completely fails.

I copied all personal off the drive failed on another drive good files and am now ready to remove the failed drive and install a new replacement main primary HDD and then reinstall my XP Home on it - so - until I started to do this thinking, I would ask for tips in anticipation of a smooth, re - install on the new drive.

I got a 25 character key and proof of 8-character license key. There is a Microsoft sticker on the back of the pc (that I do not see to read right now, but its there).

So, I remove the old drive and fit the replacement drive and this format and then install my XP Home - can we see a particular problem with activation?

    concerning

Depending on whether you have a recovery CD suitable for activation key for your sticker or not, there are three possible courses of action. Each activation of the path should not be a problem unless this procedure has been done several times or your 25-character key fell into the wrong hands.

If you have a recovery CD

Make the re-installation, follow the control points in my first post in this thread...

If you do not have a recovery CD

I hope that your original drive will have a recovery partition or the means to create a recovery CD. If you can create recovery media do now. In the contrary case and the original disc has a recovery partition make a clone of the original hard disk sector by sector to your new car now. If the clone is successful, i.e., that there are no unreadable sectors, is perhaps the best way to proceed in any case, especially if your PC is in good health other than the imminent failure of your HARD drive. If the clone does not work out, you can always fall back on the new installation. The advantage of a clone is that there is no re-setup software to (updates Windows or Office to give just two examples) and didn't need to be restored. I paid for the partitioning/cloning software and have no experience of all freebies out there to make recommendations, perhaps 10crackers can help with this.

If you have managed to create a recovery media, you can use it instead of cloning.

If you clone successfully you can just use it as is, or use the built-in recovery partition that you just cloned to do a clean install.

If you don't have a recovery media and cannot create an and is unable to successfully clone

You will have to contact the manufacturer of your PC to see if they can provide recovery media.

Looks like your drive HARD 0 is having some problems.

You can read S.M.A.R.T. in the following link, and there are a few other links to tools for free (like Speedfan) diagnostics at the bottom of the page:

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/self-monitoring, _Analysis, _and_Reporting_Technology

There may be some diagnosis available for your computer HARD drive against the manufacturers World Wide Web site (what it is... Seagate?), but usually the diagnosis confirmed the warning and the tests fail and it would be prudent to anticipate a HARD drive failure imminent and start making a plan for backing up your data, get a new HARD drive installed and running until it was too late.  What a perfect excuse for a grand/more faster HARD drive.  Make your HDD suspect a disk slave control or something, so that when it fails subsequently, it won't be a big deal (it isn't if it fails, it's when it fails).  Alternatively, give to an enemy.

Sometimes when this error starts to mount the HARD drive will be seem to be going very well for the hours/days/weeks/months, but it seems that there is something to worry about. There are so many parameters S.M.A.R.T. and values (could be your torque Amplification count), you need to start some tools to see exactly which ones are defective, but failure is cause for concern, unless you can explain it.

You can perform a Google search using your message, read what other people in the world have to say about the message.

Please vote my posts as helpful so I can get a lot of points. I'm saving for a pony! Everybody don't like Raymond.

    Hello

    My problem is the computer freezes often and has problems with windows Explorer. Also, it will freeze when in games. I don't know if the issues are related, but after freezing when it starts to reboot, it will come with a black screen reading;

PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of

When I press on no matter what happens with the same message. If I turn off the laptop by the power button and give it some time before turning on it gives me the option to start windows in safe mode or normal if I choose Safe mode, it does not start. Also when I run the toshiba PC diagnostic tool, the hard drive failed the test. It gives me no explanation.

This problem has happened several times in recent weeks.

    The model is:
    Qosmio F60 / 05 M PQF65A-05M02W

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you
    Mick

    Hi mick,.

    > Also when I run the toshiba PC diagnostic tool, the hard drive failed the test.
It would be also my staff believes that something is wrong with the HARD drive itself, I mean if the computer attempts to boot the HARD internal access and Windows boot disk, but if the computer can't find the HARD internal disk, it tries to boot from LAN

According to me, please contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys should check your HARD drive and replace it if necessary.
In addition to backup all your data if you didn t it yet. Therefore, you can use an external USB HDD.

The toshiba Recovery Disc Creator can not be started".

Pls help how can I solve this problem...

    Thank you...

    Hello

How did you install the system? You said you did it using the backup drive is a Toshiba drive recover?

I guess the recovery disk creator error reports area No. HDD Recovery! because no image file found on the new HARD drive.

  • Smart check for hard disk

My computer is a Pavilion dv7 - 6123cl.  My operating system is windows 7.  I get an error message indicating intelligently check that my hard drive is about to fail.  When I use the tests diagnostic to check HP short and long check, it says that my drive is check.  It seems to be something in Windows 7 that is running the Smart check that produces the error message.  When I try to use the windows diagnostics program, it says failed.  When I try to any control using windows check, it says failed.

Heck, Toshiba is one of the few that does not offer its own hard drive diagnostic tool.

You can download, run CrystalDiskInfo, see what is the smart data shows, this is a portable version that does not install anything on your PC, just past in the folder you unzip it to.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 on new SSD after failure of hard disk, damaged, incomplete product key

I have a HP Pavilion.  The HARD drive recently failed completely, no possibility to recover data at the moment.  I ordered a set of HP recovery disks, but they seek the recovery on the HARD drive partition; There is no such partition that I replaced the HARD original with a new SSD drive.  To make things worse, the place that HP has chosen to put the Microsoft product key sticker resulted in the product being partially faded key.

So, to summarize: HP not Pavilion with a corrupt OEM HDD and so far no data recovery possible. a new SSD with no partitions on this subject; a set of recovery disks from HP that don't just work; a sticker with the product key with the first two digits of the product key (as well as some of the barcode, etc.) rubbed off because they have chosen to place the sticker on the bottom of a working computer instead of, say, under the battery, it can be protected.

If someone in the community has a suggestion as to how to install Win 7 (must be 7 on this system, cannot be an iteration of 8 or 10) from scratch, without having to buy it and with a corrupt OEM disc and a partial product key, I'd love to hear it.  Maybe it's time to install Debian on it?

Ahh, this is the crux of the problem... the bootmgr is missing.

To restore the windows off the factory restore DVD, you must configure the BIOS to use the DVD drive as the primary boot device. The machine will then start on the first DVD, and you will not get the above message.

  • Smart fauilure on hard drive 2

I tried to boot my laptop but it gives an error "smart failure predicted hard disk 2. It asks me to press F1, but when I do doesn't matter, SO I pressed F2 and it checks the system errors. Results of which was "need replacing hard drive." When I pressed F10 to escape the system booted normally. But now it is stuck at the 'Welcome' screen after that I logged.

What should I do and is not blocked RTA welcome screen is there anything and that I should wait, if so how long. If it does nothing then what should I do? I don't have with me recovery disks.

Also, if I restore settings I lose all my data? I have tons of data that I need to back up.

I have windows vista 32 bit.

    Help, please! URGENT

If you are restoring, you will lose your data.  I hope that you have been using a program to backup or storage of your files online in a service like Microsoft OneDrive.

But restoration alone will not solve the problem.  Your hard drive has failed.  The average hard drive dies after 5 years.  You need get the replacement of the hard disk from the manufacturer, which has made the laptop, or buy one in a store.

You may be able to connect with safe mode, but since the drive hard didn't which is not likely.  Keep trying to use the drive can cause more damage to your data.

  • Failure SMART hard disk with Satellite M30X

A problem with my hard drive has suddenly popped up. Whenever I try to start the computer, the following message appears:
SMART failure provided on hard disk 0: toshiba mk6025GAS-(PM) WARNING: immediately back up your data and replace your hard drive. A failure may be imminent, press f1 to continue...

When I press f1 it just shows the window of windows xp with a black background and stays like that.

So, today, that I inserted dvd products recovery, which took about 3 hours to restart. Once this is done, I could go to the windows menu start and tried checking errors c drive of my computer. To be able to do that I had to reboot the computer.

When the computer has restarted the same error message above SMART failure predicted etc. had sprung up again. After pressing f1 computer started chkdsk. When he reached 4/5 which was chkdsk varifying data file he said a cluster of file message replaced 5518 name pagerfile/sys and just froze.

I manually restarted the computer and when I went at the start menu windows an other error message pops up saying: windows could not save the data for the file c:\ data has been lost. This error may be due to your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

Finally I tried to restart the computer once more and a blue screen dark this time appeared saying something in the sense of: it has detected a problem with your hard drive and it may have been caused in what concerns some hardware and something in the message was referring to the BIOS.

I buy a new battery for laptop a couple of weeks, but it worked perfectly. So someone could shed light on, you can the problem. At the time the laptop is freezing on the black windows xp screen.

    Thank you

For me, it looks like a HARD drive failure.

The S.M.A.R.T (self-monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) is an industry standard that is used in hard drives. This feature watches and monitors the important parameters of the HARD disk and allows you to recognize the HARD drive problems.

In my opinion the HDD doesn't work properly and you must replace it as far as possible.

Sorry for this bad news but I think that there is no other solution as a replacement of HARD drive

    Bye and greetings
