  Click the icon for your profile and scroll down to the tip. Then select the profile you want to edit. You will see then a whole list of things that you can change the alert for. For example, click on "phone". Your first setting is "off the case". This means that you don't have the phone mode "sleep" or in an approved Holster BB. You can change this voice against zero which means no warning at all. Tone would be your choice of ringtone. Vibe and ring would vibrate THEN ring. Vibrate is vibrate. Next option is tune. You can select a preloaded ringtone, or if you want to choose a song that you downloaded browse choose music, and song. Then is volume. Low medium high climbing or none. Then repeat the notification is none or flashing LED. When turned on your status light flashes red for a long time after you have missed a call. This works for other alerts as well. Then there is the number of vibrations before the song starts 1, 2 or 3. But you do not consider that if you do not use vibrate. So you want to change the setting for in case as well.   Here's my own weird solution that has work for me if someone else has this problem.

  Power off, power.

  I've renamed the PDF file that I have emalied me to something simple like test.pdf > as fine opend.

  Then re-sent me a longer name PDF it was initially & then which seemed to open ok.

  Now I really like my "BOLD" even better.

  I have five different e-mail accounts.

  I just upgraded to a "8000" 3 years Blackberry (w / wheel side spin) for the 9000 "BOLD". (14 hours only!)

  I have my 5 emails on the 9000 through its Portal of creation of electronic mail without problem.

  As email is entered in the 5 respective mailboxes, a 'brand' Red/White appears in the Inbox.  the 'Hand' Message box would all gather data email 5, as well as text and phone message data.

  Excellent so far.

  Then, I launched a transfer of my contacts from my old 8000 series Blackberry.  Contacts transferred correctly.  HOWEVER, subsequently, e-mail in the box 'Message' of collection - will never appear in the separate respective email boxes.

  All emails and messages will always go in the "main" messages folder You can not change this.

  Your specific folder of the individial email should still work as before. You may need to remove the Service books (Options > advanced > Service books and remove each).

  The return Service directories from your BIS site where you have enabled e-mail accounts.

  My blackberry 9700 suspended began quiet often.

  Some good advice from prince2012, but let me add a question: what OS are you running?  The "BOLD" originally shipped with OS 4 and can be updated to OS 5 (I think that these figures are correct).  However, many people have decided to spend in addition to OS 6, which is not a good idea on a 9700.  If you are currently running OS 6, I recommend you go back to OS 5.

  Unlike older battery technologies, they do not run out. This has been known to damage, including making them useless. Since you solved your problems with a new battery, but exhausted while the problems returned, I would assume that your new battery was also damaged, and yet another replacement is your next step (and not allowing it to exhaust).

I used the transfer to a new Blackberry device option and I thought everything was fine until I looked in my address book and I saw all my contacts where gone. I don t care that there wasn t good number of them and I can easily replace them, but what bothers me is his email address appears on the screen when I switch e-mail message box and its top of page e-mail. I get my emails not his s so it's just the header changed in need so if someone could help that would be great.

  Instructions for installation on ANY carrier 9700:

  1 download the BONES above files to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
  2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Users of Vista/Win7: in the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the Vendor.xml file. Once you have that - just delete the vendor.xml file here (even if you have deleted or think that you have previously deleted in the folder) and voila, it will allow you to update the newly installed operating system!
  3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the amount of data you need to back up and restore during the process. Once he did load the new OS, it will reboot (it may do it twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
