Smartphones blackBerry freeze / hang screen - Curve 8900

Hi, I have a Curve 8900 which works fine since I bought it 3 years ago. Recently, the screeen began to crash and freeze and its driving me crazy! The usual routine to take out the battery when the unit is on solves the problem temporarily, but then after a short while the problem comes back... Please help... I have zero apps on the device. I have put some photos on the device recently but the memory card still shows 75% of free space! Thank you very much.

The first thing I recommend is to check what I said in my first reply you above... Make sure you have a solid backup. Given what you describe, your situation may worsen, and data loss is without a doubt a high risk to you now.

Assuming you're all good in this regard, then then I recommend a full WIPE on the device:

But before you do anything about restoring data or reinstallation of applications, make sure that the problem re-no appears not at 100%. If it is not the case, then you can restore/reinstall. But if so, then more drastic measures are needed, starting with a refill of BONE.

At the top of each forum device, there should be some 'sticky' threads dealing with the level of the OS available for many models. If they understand your model, please use those as a reference as you go along. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the download portal official for packages of OS for your model:

  • Curve Smartphones blackBerry freezes when used Facebook app used

    BB messenger, email and browser will freeze on my curve once I have upload a photo on Facebook.  It has been upgrading the FB app.  (At least that is when I noticed this).  I get an "uncaught exception error" and the battery must be pulled to reset the phone.  It is certainly a problem of software, as Verizon already sent me a replacement phone and the same problem persists!  I've updated all my BB applications to the latest version, btw.  Anyone know what is happening?

    It's here. I know that this seems to be a link shady, but I promise you there is nothing wrong with it. It is a perfectly clean OTA installation of Facebook 1.8 and I have used (and still use) myself.

    (1) make sure that you remove Facebook from your Blackberry.

    (A) options > Applications

    (B) the drop down menu and change it to "Modules". This menu is on the upper right.

    (C) scroll down and find Facebook, select it and the button Delete is there.

    Alternatively, you can simply scroll over the icon in the applications menu, press menu again and go to delete. But I do not trust in this way.

    (3) follow the installation as usual.

    This should help clear up.

    * For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (more than 3 for the country code). You must enter '8 '.

    3. you probably have "Content Protection" located on your address book.
    OS5 devices: look at the Options > Security > General settings. Scroll down to the content Protection > include addresses = no
    OS6 devices: Home screen > Options > Security > encryption > uncheck encrypt.

    4. go to Options on your device > Security Options > encryption > include contacts the value 'No '.

    What model of BB?

    If it was two hours, too long.

    Unplug the USB cable and if the application loader asks you if you want to cancel the upgrade, say Yes. Try everything again.

    If the BB is running, you might want to pull the battery and restart the BB before trying again.

    If when remove the USB and restart, the device restarts, you will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the BB and start fee.

    Security wipe returns the bb to when you first pulled out of the box. Basically, factory restore. This is why u should do a backup first. If you don't lose your data.
