SMS alerts using a Modem

Is someone can please tell me if its possible for the installer warns be sent through a modem instead of send it. If our smtp server is stopped then alerts obviously would not work so it would be good to be able to send alerts via a modem.

Thank you

Hello

If you check the failover to SMTP server monitoring, it will relay your messages with our server, in which case your breaks down. The options we have for notifications are email and text.

Thank you

  • Satellite L500-1WG - how to use the modem internal?

I am new to computers and laptops and that you just bought the Toshiba Satellite L500-1WG. I was told, in the shop, he has an internal modem?

What should I do to activiate/get connected to the internet? Do I need an external modem wired or wireless as well? No difficult language or abbreviations please, I am a total novice with very limited on this subject knowledge. Have only to learn how to start and run the basic set up.

    HEY buddy,

    > Told me, in the shop, he has an internal modem?
It seems that this shop doesn't know what they are selling or they wanted kid a small round little

It turns out satellite L500 is not equipped with modem and it doesn t have a modem (RJ12) port.

So if you want to use the modem connection, you must purchase an external. But for now he s not advised to use a modem, the majority of the pages are not designed for modem more.

  • COM/LPT ports on Satellite A10 lost and can't use the modem

My Satellite A10 lost ports, and I can't use my modem.
    What can I do?

    Hello

I think you should remove the modem from Device Manager. Restart the machine and the operating system should recognize the modem again. Then you can reinstall the modem driver.
All this should be done automatically and you need t to add all ports.
The properties must be enabled if you have administrator rights.

    Thanks and good luck

  • After you install Windows XP SP3, I am unable to use my modem.

I had Windows XP2 on two of my computers and one day he came with an update for XP3 it says that you can download now so I asked data doctors on this issue and they said yes go before I did. But now I can't use my modem that I paid for new install when I bought them. When I tried to put in place my fax modem it askes me to insert the CD XP3, but I do not because I upgarded to line. How can I remove XP3 and reinstall my XP2 I still have my cd, s on both computers.

original title: I got Windows XP2

I guess you could uninstall service pack 3 (using the control panel > Add / Remove Programs), then install Services of Fax and then reinstall the service pack 3, but I do not know the consequences of doing this on all the updates post-sp3 installed.

(If you really want to do it this way, I suggest seeking advice from experts in the Windows Update forum posting asking "is it safe to uninstall and reinstall xp sp3".  Include in the body of your message a question on post-sp3 updates).

Because you have a Windows XP sp2 CD, the best thing for you to do is to create a CD of XP sp3 using the process known as "slipstreaming."  If you have a CD burner on your computer (i.e., a CD player that can write as well as to read the CD), it is a relatively easy thing to do - and it's always good to have a handy day XP installation CD.

There are many websites that explain how to do this.  Here are 3:

This isn't a problem of version of Windows. Must see with what software
you are running. Yes, if you use a program that has this feature, you
    can do.

I can't install my US Robotics modem, because there only drivers under VISTA 32 bit.  My current operating system is 64-bit.

Is there an easy way to change my 32-bit system in order to install and use this modem/fax?

    Hello

You cannot change your system of 64-bit to 32-bit

they are completely different operating systems

You must purchase the 32 bit OS and do a clean install of it

Contact support with their product, USRobotics

they write drivers for their products, not from microsoft

  • Can I use my modem wifi re-large up my internet 64-bit of Windows Vista

My laptop has a wireless modem, my access to the internet through the LAN. can I use my modem wifi re-large up my internet, so my other computers can us the internet.  I guess what im saying is my card wifi as a hub.   im sorry new to this.

    I use win vista 64-bit
    Thank you

    Hey, I can't install Win7 64 bit...

Let's get back to a productive tone. You can use the Wi - Fi card on your laptop to create a wireless network for other computers. It is to create an 'ad hoc' network. While going through the installation wizard you can choose to make the ad hoc network, permanent or not.

Note: You can always remove/delete a permanent ad hoc network at a later date. The permanent setting will allow the ad hoc network to stay open even if no other computers/devices are connected on it.

To set up the ad hoc network, please follow the steps 1 to 3 as described here:
Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network

Once created the ad hoc network, you need to enable Internet connection sharing for the network. To enable Internet connection sharing, please read carefully the information / the steps here:
    Using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing)

Note: In the long term, you will experience better performance/stability using a device dedicated to broadcast your network without wire (such as a wireless router). For any future reference the link below will allow you to check to see what hardware is compatible with Windows Vista, so that you can be sure that it will work properly with your computer:
Windows Vista - wireless routers Compatibility Center

    Hope that helps.

  • SMS alerts by using the local GSM modem and smstools v2

    Hello

I know there have been some discussions (ish) similar to this before, but I can't find the answer I'm looking for.

I have Hyperic HQ installed 4.0.3 on a computer with a connected GSM modem and smstools installed. I know the SMS feature works because I tested sending a message using smstools and I am also able to receive messages.

My question is this, how do I change the sms_email.gsp file send it an email to smstools so smstools can use the email2sms script.

If someone managed to get this to work already?

    Kind regards

    Andrew

  • No SMS alert

Hello! Since I connected my in my IMessages on my Macbook Air, my IPhone 6 does not have a noise as it should when it receives an SMS even when I'm not on my Macbook. I tried signing out of IMessages and change the preferences, but so far none of this has worked. I've rechecked; my phone is not on silent and I did not I receive a sound alert when a message comes through. What should I do? Thank you in advance.

    Hello JazlynR,

From what I understand, you enabled iMessage on your Mac, and since that, you cannot receive alerts on your iPhone for new messages. I know that this may be about ask you because I rely on my iPhone for all types of communication. I'll be more than happy to help.

Given that you have checked your settings and could not find anything wrong, we can try to reset the settings of the iPhone. This will help to understand if there are rogue settings, that we do not see.

On the iPhone, we will complete this step: go to settings > general > reset > reset all settings.

Note: This will not delete the data, but it will ask you to reach your WiFi network as needed. It will do the following:

Reloads all the default settings: forget your Wi - Fi networks, removes changes made to the alert notifications Styles, disables the site Services for third-party applications, sets the sound, brightness and wallpaper back to the original configurations, removes the battery usage statistics, turns off Wi - Fi sync, defines the Autolock to 1 minute and disables all accessibility options.

    What it does not:

This option does NOT delete anything - photos, contacts, music, apps, nothing. All content and media will remain after resets the phone.

    See you soon

  • My verse ATT modem (non apple devices to use this modem} is connected to the ATT line, Time Capsule (iPhones, Macs Time Capsule use) via ethernet Uverse.) Non apple devices can collect data from iPhones or Mac using the time Capsule?

My verse ATT modem ({use of devices not apple wifi of this modem} is connected to the ATT line, Time Capsule (iPhones, Macs use the wifi of the time Capsule) and connect to the Uverse modem via ethernet.)

Both devices are set to the highest security and each uses separate passwords.

Non apple devices can collect data from iPhones or Mac using the time Capsule?

With a bit of work by someone who knows how to do such things, not Apple computers could read some files on the Mac if file sharing is configured on the network... devices non-Apple and... He knew the device passwords or administrator for Macs.

Mac could also play the files on other Macs if file sharing has been implemented and the device password or admin was known.

If you ask if a PC can read the files on the Time Capsule, the answer is Yes, without doubt, assuming that the PC knew the password of device for the time Capsule.

  • When I want to use the modem 711 error messages or 1068 appear

Everything was going well on my new L series with windows 7. Then after a few months, I tried to connect to the modem to check my email. He won t connect.
Fortunately, I still have my old computer, so I tried it worked. I googled Error 711 and as was suggested on other sites in windows. Nothing has worked.

S so here is what I got: Error 711, go to services and change it to manual startup.
He was already on manual start. Error 1068 same thing. What they said to do has already been done in management programs. So why doesn't it work?

Modem is installed, I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that made no difference. It of been a week now and nothing I will fix it. I only have the drive for laptop recovery, so it works with all that Toshiba put on it at the factory.

I also tried the system restore, but when it restarts, I get the message of this system restore could not perform the full restore. Any additional programs are approved windows and works well. With the exception of iTunes that keeps telling me to change the compatibility mode that doesn't even go as far as windows7 and ivolume who won t recognize iTunes 9.0.2.

Another problem I have is this iTunes update no longer far as 11,90 MB download before stalling in the process.

    Hello

To be honest your ad is a bit confusing and not clear enough...

I m not one expert with Modems but if errors occur even after using the Toshiba Recovery Disc I think that it s a hardware malfunction, and you should contact a service provider for help.

If your recovery disk doesn't work, you can get a new from an authorized service or a new, you can order online but it s based on your laptop.
Moreover, why you didn't post the information on your laptop?

Sorry, but everything that s what I can say at the moment.
