Software all-in-one HP Photosmart C5240 freezes computer?

When you try to print a PDF to my hard drive, the computer crashes from the 1st page is sent to the printer.

When scanning photos and fact scannig button is clicked, the computer crashes as scanner begins to transfer images on hard drive.

Computer = DellOptiplex gx270s

Intel Pentium 4, 3.2gig processor

Memory = 4 GB

All the drivers are up to date.

Uninstalled and reinstalled all Adobe and HP software with the latest versions.

Preformed all steps provided by Windows, HP and Adobe of troubleshooting. In the end, each manufacturing accuses other software for the problem.

1. the problem occurs only when you print PDF files?
2 have you tried to print from word or notepad document?

3. during how long have you had this problem?

Method 1 :
You can check if using diagnostic tools provided in the utility section help solve you the problem.

Method 2:

You can check if you are facing the same question in a clean boot state. To perform the clean boot follow step 1 mentioned in the article below, and then try again check in the clean boot state -

If the problem is resolved check which service non-Microsoft is the source of the problem; referring to article and following the other steps.
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

a. Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

b. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option and then click OK.

c. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    All-in-one HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m we recently had to ge to a new Westell router for the wireless. the printer connects when we put the password but anytime the commection to the router go out it will not reconnect until the password is released. He seems to forget the password.  System indicates that the software is up to date for the printer.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you have recently changed your wireless router and now when he loses the connection, you must enter the password on your HP Photosmart C309g to reconnect to the wireless network.     I scanned documents with the bank details, social security numbers, etc. on the device, and want to be sure, that it is perfectly clean before giving. (That, or I guess I'll take a hammer to the old fashioned way!)

After I installed SP3 and update the HP software to the latest version (installed by using the full version downloaded from the HP website), these two icons and software are missing by HP Director and as well as the PC.

    I ask that the method to get the software from the HP website and install these software only while the HP Director will fill up with these two icons of software and definition for these two software options can be provided free of charge. Or, please provide me the solution so that these two software installed on my PC.

    I bought the printer HP Photosmart Premium e-all-in-one C310 series yesterday night and desperately need to print today.  However, the installation disc is not supported by my Mac happening on v10.7 Lion OSX.   I read on a site that I should be able to access a software upgrade via the Apple website, but could not find the last night.  Help, please!

    Also, I loved the easy set-up using the touch screen and my wireless mode.  No cables needed!   Now, if I can get any software updated today, that will be great!

    Your printer works perfectly in Leo.  Indeed, pilots are probably aready in your operating system.  Get the installation program and be able to use it.  We have a doc that will guide you through the process.  (It's pretty simple)  OS X 10.7 Lion: install and use the printer with Lion

    I understand that when you print from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Photosmart e-all-in-one printer D110a print jobs are coming in white. I would like to help you today with this printing problem. When you print from your computer, some files are sent to your printer as "image" files If your printer 'think' it prints an image, color ink may be used to enrich or to 'do' the dark. This can be misleading because your machine can really be confronted a black ink, problem of print, but you may think that your machine works great as always black appears in print. While in reality, it's just the ink to mix color to black. Therefore, at the beginning troubleshooting I'll have print you a standalone report diagnosis on the quality of your printer. This report will help us determine if this printing of the blank page problem is caused by your printers ink system or your computer. Can I please you follow the steps below.

    How to print a report of quality diagnostic:

    1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.
    2. Tap the button of the ATM () next to the icon of configuration () in the lower left corner of the control panel.
    3. Press arrow right () and select Tools, and then tap OK.
    4. Press arrow right () to select Print Quality Report, then tap OK. The printer prints the report.

    • If this report prints perfectly: Only the blank page printing problem isn't be caused by your printer. On the contrary, there may be a driver or a conflicts between your computer and your HP Photosmart camera setting. Can I have it please click here to download and run the HP print and scan of the doctor tool. Once the tool downloads, please run the tool to the "difficulty of printing."     S s s s today, there is no drivers for printing or scanning of the utilities on the HP site. I was able to get to join the TRIOUX printer, butttttnosaninfunctions work with the push button on the machine. Also, because I lost the original CD that came with it, I can't scan utilities to work. I don't know that the same CD would work with Windows 10. In any case, HP will be an upgrade of Windows 10 for this printer include the scanning of the functions? Thank you

    I see you want to use the features of printing and scanning of your HP Photosmart C4280 all-in-One Printer on your computer Windows 10. I want to help you with this today. I'm happy to announce that the full feature software and drivers are available for your printer!  Just pilots have not yet been added under Windows 10 drop-down list on our Web site. However, I will you link to the driver package to install your printer. Please follow the steps below.

    If you use a USB connection between your computer and the printer please unplug this cable now.

    Step 1: Remove the printer:

    We want a clean slate to install your printer on the computer Windows 10. Therefore, I will you ensure that no trace of your HP Photosmart camera does not currently installed on your computer.

    1. click on the Start button

    2. type programs and features. If a search does not start automatically, you will need to type programs and features in the area of "Ask Me anything".

    3. click on programs and features to launch the window.

    4. in programs and features, will populate a list of the programs installed on your computer. Please scroll down and find your Camera HP Photosmart. If you see your HP Photosmart listed, click on it and choose Uninstall.

    5 follow the prompts on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete successfully please close programs and features.

    6. then, click on the menu start of new

    7. this time type devices

    8 click on devices and printers to launch the window.

    3. If you use a USB cable connection, leave the disconnected cable until the installation program prompts you to connect

    Once installation is complete, please try printing and scanning.
