Software called 'Update Driver' deleted most of my saved emails.

An update of the pilot program showed on my pc and update files, causing the majority of my messages disappear automatically.  Now he wants me to sign up and buy his service to replace the missing files.  The company presents itself as a partner of Microsoft.  Can I get my messages without registering for this service?  I'm stoned suspicious of any software that updates my system without my permission.

Thanks for your help!

During the installation of software, you could make custom installations and installed at D:\Program files instead of C:\Program files. Or probably the simplest is to move the My Documents folder to the D drive, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310147. Or maybe both!

  • I called the driver robot that comes up constantly with required updates and it asks me to download this for my epson printer and dell touchpad.

What is the driver robot, and how did get on my computor. Is it safe to download updates and will be charged. Not sure how this me on my computor. If not necessary and it is a scam, so how do I get off this icon my computor. Please help because it's driving crazy me!

    Hello gabby6,

driver robot is a control software from your PC for outdated drivers. It is a commercial software similar to "Driver Detective" or similar. You can use it to scan your PC for updates of pilot. It shows where to find the latest updates and if you pay the cost, you can update all of your drivers. You must have downloaded by yourself once without realizing it.

You don't need this! You can use the 'Device Manager' of windows to search for updates of driver by yourself.

You can remove this program in "Start-online Control Panel-online programs". Search for "driver robot", mark it and select "Uninstall".

    Hello

Where did you buy this model?

Usually, Toshiba notebooks European can use the Tempro.
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/generic/TEMPRO_W7_RELEASE/

It monitors the system and automatically checks for updates to the driver.
But to be honest; I wouldn't update the drivers if everything is ok.
If a part of the system would not properly work, then I would update the driver manually; mean I download Toshiba page driver and then install this driver.

  • Acer Aspire 8943 G Touchpad does not, the updated driver is installed

I instaled and uninstalled it a dozen times, used system restore and cannot get the touchpad to work Acer Aspire 8943 G, please can any one help?

Something strange happened. It would not work no matter what I tried. I was watching a movie on KODI formerly XBMC. I accidentally hit the keyboard and the mouse moved. I pressed the video button and it lit up. The only thing I can find is that it took several hours for updated driver to work, or the video triggered the Touchpad.

I uninstalled and deleted all instances of the driver including the reserved system created by a MS Tech backup when my Windows Ultimate has become corrupt. Initially, it was Win-7 Edition Home Premium and when it would not install IE10 when MS gave me a free upgrade to Ultimate.Even then it took a week to finally get installed IE10 because the computer did not have Service Pack 1. Congratulations to MS Techs, they called me several times and worked on my computer. Him spoke excellent English and are based in India. Computer laptop is out of warranty and Acer said enough so be it, I have to pay. MS did not charge me a dime.

  • How to contact Microsoft to ask whether there is an updated driver for "Microsoft Virtual WiFi MiniPort adapter"

When I checked the driver on this issue, I found this is version 6.1.7600.16385, dated 21/06/2006.After do a search, he started to download a replacement driver, but as it was not signed I cancelled the download. Then advised to contact Microsoft, which gave the pilot current, to see if there is a subsequent update. My system is Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, 64-bit on a Toshiba laptop.

I do not pretend that you are worrying.  This is just the beginning post of this thread 'read' other posts from other users who have problems caused by those "fake" like most people 'all in one' driver updating software.  These never really find good "signed" drivers because there are "hundreds" of sites that can "host" similar named driver packages.  These packages can be 'false' or completely "valid" but usually "never verified."   Microsoft "allows us" to use their software and they officially publish the signed drivers on the Windows Update site.

As a general rule, always get the driver on the web site of the official "publishers' support.  Anywhere else, 'we' need to be 'worried' about 'integrity' of the person who posted the package update driver.

Microsoft Virtual WiFi MiniPort Adapter is a driver that Microsoft seems to use so 'of interface' with wireless network adapters.  It allow windows 'WLan' system to manage wireless network connections.

  • Updated driver support page on...

First of all, let me apologize if I posted this to the wrong group forum. This seemed the best choice.

I used the support page for my machine to determine if there were updates driver I need to install it.

I used the analysis of system function and it came with 4 driver updates and an update of the BIOS. I chose to let automatically download and install updates (I disabled the BIOS updated since I have to do it manually). This process seems to work without a hitch, although the Intel ME FW Recovery Agent that opened and tried to call home to check the updates could not do - my internet connection is fine - I think that Intel has problems with / update of its support page.

I left the recovery agent and restarted my machine. Everything seems to work properly. I went back to the support page to check the version of the BIOS update and download it. I used the new system analysis feature and the same 4 updates, I thought I had installed appeared. I tried to check to see if the pilots were actually installed, but I don't know where to find them all. I noticed when looking through the system information window that the RealTek PCIe GBE Family Controller driver showed today's date and a time that coincides with my attempt to install the drivers.

I just noticed that there is a Dell downloads folder in My Documents. I looked real newspapers quickly. They have all successfully completed. So now I'm pretty confident that they are actually updated.

I want to be sure before I flashed the BIOS. Why they appear again on the support page if they have already been installed?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Jim Hamilton

    Dell XPS 8700 (mid-2013)

The Device Manager will have this info on the drivers. See what drivers are now installed for the hardware. Unless you have difficulties, you should not update drivers at all. Update of drivers that don't require not it can cause problems.

The bios update can be installed. The most recent for your model is A10. Check your current bios to see if you need to update. (F2 as soon as you restart will come Setup that will have your bios info) You have this bios already. BIOS updates that can brick your computer. It is good to have a backup battery (UPS) unit to the office in order to avoid the outages or surges cause outages.

The driver download page will have all the drivers for your model, in which case you must reinstall them. It does not suggest that you need updates. The list will remain the same even after the update.

  • Should I update driver wireless or not?

I got a HP Pavillion Dv6-6c43cl Win 7 Home Premium 2012 running with an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 map.

Two or three times a day, stalls of the Wi - Fi and drops, forcing me to unplug and then reconnect the wireless signal, then it seems to work fine (for a while).

And even when it is running, the Dv6 wireless speed is only about half of a 2016 model HP Pavilion 15 t I sat right next to her.

So it seems that I have either a defective wireless card or I need latest drivers, right?

Assuming it's true, the safest and easiest bet is probably to try to update the drivers first to see if this resolves connection problems.

The problem is, HP Support Assistant says he has no drivers updated to for my Dv6. Yet, when I go on site software and the driver from HP for my Dv6 model, it offers what, in my view, is a driver updated for my laptop.

"My WiFi for Microsoft Windows 7 version 15.1.0.18 Intel, Intel PROSet and Intel wireless drivers" (August 31, 2016).

Is, in fact, the driver update for my Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 card?

    Or is it something else?

And why HP Support Assistant tells me that there are no updated drivers for my card?

Finally, if it's a better bet to forget the drivers and simply update the map instead, do I need to order a new Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1030 or get a new card faster - and if so, which?

Your opinion is that very much appreciated here.

    Thank you!

I agree with you. I have uninstall ALL the bloatware programs loaded by HP and other vendors as soon as I buy a machine. I also unload everything except on or two programs loading at startup.

The reason why I have re-installed HP Support Assistant was to see if she could tell me whatever it is my wireless card problems.

And I would never have let Windows (or tune) automatically installs the updates. Let me know about them? Sure. But I decide to settle or not, which is how I've avoided Windows to force Windows 10 on me through these two windows updates kept pushing (it was KB2952664, the other was 303 KB something or other). And that's how I avoided a lot of other problems as well.

For example, on my HP Envy, recommended Support Assistant that I install an update of the bios I did a quick search on Google and found a number of people desperate to go back.

    So, I'm here with you.

Thanks again for your help today. I'll mark this thread resolved.

  • HP Color Laser Jet Pro M452dw: no automatic duplexing after update driver

Installed the updated driver and software M452dw.  I can't print any documents usng the automatic duplex function.  I changed the printer properties from one side of 2 sides, but the feature screen always manual duplex printing.  I have been using automatic duplex printing since I bought the printer in November 2015.  Something must have gone wrong with the update or it does not update correctly.  Suggestions are welcome and/or corrective action to fix the configuration.

You will need to go to devices and printers and right click on the printer icon and scroll first and left click Properties. Now at the top of the page click on device settings and then scroll down to the duplex of change not installed and installable options at installed and apply and save the settings and it should now work as you wish.

  • Digital Memory Card Reader - updated driver required

Where and when can I get an updated driver for the internal memory card reader?
I just tried to format a 8 GB Sony Memory Stick, but can only 3.5 GB format - after discussions with Sony and re-formatting on a Toshiba laptop not quite new, I reached the full format of 8 GB.

However the Satellite cannot read the card :-(

    Published by: ADMIN

    Hi Martin

Compatibility with memory cards depends on the available hardware and not software!
This means that a update driver card reader won't help you!

First of all, you should check your user manual to see which cards are compatible with your internal card reader!
Generally, these details can be found in the manual pre-installed.

Model of laptop you know me not, but I doubt you'd be able to use the 8 GB Sony Memory Stick. Perhaps the size didn't is simply not supported.

  • HP 430 notebook PC: How can I get all the updates driver for my hp 430 PC laptop?

    Hello

Windows 10 requires the updated driver for my laptop in order to take the updates to the latest version of Windows is supported. Can I get help on this issue?

    Thank you

    Cyberkhan

Sorry, but there is no HP Win10 driver for your machine.  HP only provides drivers upward through Win7.

You can try searching for them using Windows Update, but MS has provided only the most basic drivers, and if those who do not work correctly, the only way you will get back to full functionality restores your Win7 machine using HP recovery media.

  • I had a problem with Outlook express for about two weeks I canoe delete most messages

I have outlook express do not know which edition, but I have family xp I can't delete most messages for about Patrick weeks could have been the last automatic update, how do I fix this I tried to use a recent patch, and he said: I didn't need it im guessing that I need to cancel the update

It wasn't the update. You have corruption of dbx files.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox (if you can) and move the messages you want to record off deleted items, and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

Compact all folders as described below.

To avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:
