  I am currently using a free version of the AVG software.  I tried to find something that is a good choice for my MacBook Pro running ElCapitan.  So much are really made for PC (according to ME) and I don't know, I get the best bang for my buck.  Can someone do some recommendations (free and paid) for Mac security software dedicated and, if there is a big reason of your choice, please let me know.

  I put the master password for the peripheral Secutiry Kaspersky software on the tools, tab options and have now forgotten the password.  I tried every possible password, and that you do not.

  Here's how my Avtivirus Norton (NAV) has been hurt since early November:

  Norton (NAV) Avtivirus auto Live Update fails on a regular basis in order to properly install the incremental updates of definition of Virus X 64 (usually less than 1 MB in size), as a result of the awakening of the PC of periods of hibernation / sleep and when you start the PC from a complete stop.

  I'm going to run, then Manual Live Update immediately after the updates of definitions of Virus X 64 failed, and manual Live Update downloads / installs a complete definition of Virus X 64 file of 160 MB!

  NAV must sometimes update the very large Virus X 64 full definition file, maybe once every month or 2, but not 2 times / day for me sometimes and 20 + times / month for me since November.

  Members of the Symantec forum suggested I check with Dell for the latest drivers, which I noticed that Dell has new BIOS (15/10/2013 Release Date), which I have not yet installed.

  My Norton Antivirus Version 21.1.0.18 (which is the latest version, comes out in October) should work using the original BIOS, shouldn't it?

  Other than this problem for 2 months with my NAV, the Dell Inspiron 17R 2013 5720 bought in January has worked with no other issues to talk about.

  What is confusing to me is how/why my NAV worked perfectly, from January to November with the original BIOS, and now it is defective, bad.

  So, my question is, will update my PC with the latest BIOS (15/10/2013 Release Date), treat this dysfunction of current Norton Antivirus? Or is there an other driver update that could solve this problem?

  It is not uncommon for an anti-virus update several times a day. As long as you meet any other internet connection problems, outside Live updates from Symantec, I can't how your problem can be attributed to drivers of Dell. As ky331 says:

  This should have nothing to do with the BIOS.   I would not be updated the BIOS unless you are having a problem specifically identified as being fixed by this particular BIOS update.

  If I were you, I would like to uninstall Live Update, followed by uninstalling Norton and run the removal tool according to the instructions. After the reboot, I would like to install Microsoft Security Essentials. I used it for several years on several computers running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit... If you have not installed Malwarebytes Anti-Malware , it would be good to add. The Pro version along well MSE and the option to automatically resize the image and real time updated. If you prefer the free version, which can be manually updated and run manually.

  I got the HP Client Security software installed and running under microsoft Windows 10. It will install is no longer under Windows Version 1511 10.

• Impossible to install security software 1603,0, 0 x 000 errors

  For the last 3 weeks I tried to install Trend Micro Internet Security software. Initially the 1603 error is out of my attempt to upgrade my version 3.51 to the latest version 5. Software Trend Micro uninstalled my old version then threw a 1603 error when you try to install the latest version. I tried this site and had a broad Trend Micro remote support. The last attempt to remedy the situation failed after 2 1/2 hours of support away from the Hungary and about 5 trying to clean my registry windows and re install my deep security software. Their developers (Tren Micro) came to the conclusion that the fault lies with the installer of windows on my pc. Even if I ran sfc/scannow and no error was detected, I can't get any software security at all to install not only Trend Micro.

  As I mentioned briefly earlier that I did everything what to do in what concerns the cleanup of registry entries and temporary directories that is the first step to try to resolve these problems

  I need options. Windows reports under its security suite that Trend Micro is installed, but not in a format it recognizes. This is misleading and does not allow me to make one installs clean

  This is just to inform everyone that this problem has been resolved. Extended support Trend Micro resolved after suspending system restore facilities which I think affected the file access permissions. My security software is now installed, updated and working properly
