Solutions of workaround for missing Officejet 6500 a (E710a-f) features?

I recently bought an Officejet 6500 a (E710a-f) and found out that the driver does not have two important elements, I had supposed wrong would be included, as they have been available on Deskjet printers for many years: print preview and manual duplex printing. Manual States simply to print the odd and even pages separately - has a challenge at best when I'm printing that does not offer as an option and it doesn't seem to be an option to preview before printing at all.

First (manual duplex printing): I've seen ads for the 6500 has more (E710n) which include a manual double-sided printing, so I wonder if the 6500 is able to use this driver if I install it without causing other problems. If not, anyone know of other alternatives for double-sided printing?

Second (print preview): unless my work application has a preview feature before automated printing, other than printing to a pdf (such as CutePDF) creator and the review of the layout in a viewer (like Adobe Reader) PDF, is there a simple way to get a preview of the text before printing?

Finally, I believe there is a good reason why these features - available on Deskjet printers for many years - were left out of the Officejet 6500, but I have not yet found. If someone who understands print drivers can explain it to me, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

( Updated 26/07/11: 1) Re duplex printing: I found a video on the HP support Web site, which offers a solution in two steps for double-sided printing: first, print the odd pages and even pages (a two-step process). It would be great, however, if there is a driver who would do this in one step, as there has been on SEVERAL HP Deskjet of printers in the past. Is there an existing printer driver that makes manual duplex printing it will work with the Officejet 6500 a?

(2) re print preview: no luck at all with "Print preview." Still, any suggestion would be appreciated. If personal HP monitors this forum, please let me know if it is a futile effort, or is there a solution to this problem. I lose a LOT of paper by not being able to check what the final provision of the documents will look like before you print!

@ drbb01

I've been looking for a solution for several hours and finally found one!

I have a tutorial that explains how to install an alternate driver that can handle manual duplex printing.

The driver being used is the driver for the Officejet Pro K550 Series printer. But I don't know if you follow each of the steps in the tutorial to make it work. Unfortunately, the tutorial is in German...

If you still need information informed me an I'll try to translate the tutorial in English.

My regards, Marc

  • OfficeJet 6500 E710a-f: how to download the latest firmware and the BASE driver for my Officejet 6500 on Windows 7

I'm looking for a way to download the latest driver and firmware base packages for my Officejet 6500 E710a-f for Windows 7, x 64 (latest patches and service packs applied).

Regardless of the road I take (including the link called "Download drivers"), finding drivers inevitably leads me to the same page that contains the vertical tabs named 'Troubleshooting', 'How to' and so on and none of the links - not even under 'options to support more' - led to a Basic downloadable driver package. In fact, none of them leads to a downloadable driver package of all kinds. The most that I could find is that package Wizard driver installation that attempts to download the package that I am not interested in-oh and a few mentions in the KB articles downloadable driver packages.

I also tried "Printer Setup, Installation" & Setup and then variously "Installation, install & connect printer ' and 'Software updates' & Firmware, which none offer a downloadable package.

This used to work perfectly fine a few months ago, but now I'm getting round on the same page over and over again. I can not find the basic driver or the software for the printer more.

Where can I find the basic driver package (used about 30 MB in size) in order to avoid the crapware included in the package (130MO) "full feature" more great who gets automatically downloaded to an unknown destination on my hard drive using this driver installation wizard. It's my PC and I want to be the one who decides in which runs when and how. Now I can try to track down the location of download using ProcMon and what not, but it would give me is this package 'feature complete' with a bunch of crapware added on strictly necessary. How to get the base driver package?

    Thank you!

Never mind. Fascinating, the "Download drivers" link under the Support tab at the top leads to a different page that the link "search for drivers' next to my question posted .

Both methods require enter the name of the model (after picking "Printers" in the first case) in a similar way, but the former led in circles on the same page with no possibility to download, while the latter one immediately takes me to the downloads, I was looking for.

    Hello

Press on copy on the front panel of the printer, then press the settings button.

Quality faucet and quick selection / project.

Press on set as the new default settings, and then click Yes to confirm the changes.

Later draft quality will be used for the copy unless any other quality is selected.

The file is a library of links necessary for HP printers. If you are worried about the validity of the file from this link. They give a good description of the file and its attributes of text is faith. Hope this helps.

  • Support for HP Officejet 6500 is stuck to the right

My HP Officejet 6500 cartridge cradle is stuck to the right and won't spend. It also reports a paper jam, although there is no jam. I use Windows 7.

I tried the tips in the videos of support, but it does not help.

    Please notify.

    Hello Kristen,

Sorry for the late response - I see your message until now.

I hope that you have already found a solution now, but in case you haven't:

As I remember, I just searched the Web for HP authorized service providers.

In my country (Israel), there were only 2, so it was not difficult to choose :-) and then I just called them.

Moreover, in my case the repair cost about half the price of a new printer, a newer model, which comes with ink cartridges and arrives at your House. Because I needed the printer of emergency for commercial purposes, I chose to fix the damaged, but if I didn't need it right now, I would probably chose to order a new, rather to bother with going to the service provider with the printer, and then goes again to pick up the printer fixed.

    Hope that helps.

  • Apple Airprint for HP Officejet 6500 has more via a wired connection to the router

    Hello

So I did a considerable amount of research in this through the internet and this forum and I still struggle to find a satisfactory solution.

I have a HP Officejet 6500 a more connected by ethernet to my BT Homehub 3.

It is I understand that even if there is a wired connection, as long as my iOS device (iPad 2 or iPhone 5) is connected to the same router, I should still be able to see this Officejet thanks to ease of airprint.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. I get the message "No Airprint Printers Found" on both devices. The only way I managed to get my Mac Pro (Mavericks) to connect has been add to mannualy by using the IP address of the printer.

Can anyone provide guidance on what I might hurt? Certainly, the printer must connect internet I can print from my iOS devices using HP ePrint app for iOS.

Some might say, well, what's the problem, just use the HP application, but is not the point. I think that if something has been set up to make things easier, then use it. I chose this printer specifically for this feature is a bit frustrating for her so difficult to get the desired results.

Hope it is something simple and anyone can help you.

    Thank you

    Steve

Following this request and reading the many more similar questions, I think I may have solved this.

I'm not 100% sure but I read a few threads suggests that there are issues around BT Homehub 3 and Hello so this can be a problem.

I tried the following in the past two days...

    (1) completely don't reset my router (wiped all settings and started)-no luck!

    (2) I tried changing to WPA2 to just WPA security - no luck!

    (3) tried to convey the Hello to the printer ports - no luck!

    (4) turn off the router, printer and all the devices iOS then fed back router, printer, then iOS devices - printer appears on iOS devices, but when printing was selected iOS device returned on several occasions not connected printer error.

Finally, what seems to have made (at least for now) has been...

    (1) disconnected the Officejet ethernet and set up as wireless.

    (2) off voltage router, printer and all iOS devices then propelled upward in the order listed previously.

    (3) so far, I tried to print a mail and a web page of my iOS devices, and both have been successful.

By the way I've been struggling also to airplay from my iPhone / iPad until I started messing around with the settings above, and now this question also seems to be resolved.

Due to the variety of combinations (different printers, routers, etc.) people will have, it seems to be quite difficult to find a solution that solves a single problem but I hope some of my experiences and findings could help others in some way.

  • Wireless for HP OfficeJet 6500 a configuration more all-in-One on Ubuntu 10.04

I bought a HP OfficeJet 6500 has more all-in-One CN557A, I want to use with ubuntu 10.04 64 bits as a wireless network printer.
Before, I bought, I checked the compatibility on www.hplipopensource.org and www.openprinting.org, and everything was in order.
The machine is detected automatically and fully functional when connected with a usb cable, but I failed to operate as a wireless printer.
    That's what I did:

I configured the printer on the network (through the interface of the printer), and it connects. It prints a 'Wireless Network Test report', and everything works. I can ping the local ip address and access it via the browser. HP eprint also works.

I installed hplip 3.11.10 and dependencies manually. I did this because the default hplip in ubuntu 10.04 did not recognize the device.

I ran 'hp-check', who gave without errors or warnings:

  • How do to transfer article Microsoft Word for HP Officejet 6500 has more to print

Could not find a way to print an article in Microsoft Word using my HPOfficejet 6500 has more. How can I transfer the article to print it directly from Word Microspft?

What operating system? What version of Word?

Generally, you need to select file, print, and then make sure the Officejet 6500 a is selected (not the fax device), select the appropriate properties and then select print.

  • OfficeJet 6500 A +: how to write bitmap for HP Officejet 6500 a

On a previous HP laserjet, I used to be able to open up the printer as a file LPT1 and write a bitmap of the screen using MS Basic (Quick Basic) professional development system.  I do something similar on the Officejet 6500 of?

The OfficeJet 6500 A printer models include only the PCL3GUI Language of Description of Page, so your Basic program must convert your bitmap image into the equivalent object in this language.

But (as far as I know) HP do not publish this PDLspecifications, so it would be very difficult without the use of a supplied driver.

There may be features that your basic program can call which would be "hook" in the driver, as well as common applications (Word, Paint, etc.)?

  • I have problems to install the software for my Officejet 6500 has more on my Win XP machine.

Follow instructions for 'clear' all the stuff of temp and started around. Much to my surprise I had the same problems all over again. I can't understand this update of the player from Nvidia. But your suggestions led to a workaround. Once I was allowed to leave the area temporary and tried to re install I went back after my problem continued to search for anything I might have missed. I was able to locate the new Temp directory that had just been created via the HP software. I have this opening was able to directly run the installation from this directory and he did not get given wrong directions to the Nvidia. Installation was successful
  • Can not reinstall the software/driver for the Officejet 6500 all-in-one

I tried to 'day' the pilot on my all-in-one e710n-z printer 6500, and now I have no printer to work at all.  Installation stops at about 80% complete giving the error: Network Installation fails.  I followed all the procedures including online uninstall them, winsock reset, reinstall, install HP utility failure, disabled anti-anti-virus/firewall... nothing works.   My printer is detected by the computer and he "wants" install, but nothing works!  Wi - fi is on, and the only thing that I miss is the driver.  What is the secret of installing the HP online support site?  With the help of Windows OS 8.1.  Thanks for any help!

Thank you so much for offering to help... This has been a very frustrating experience where I felt like I more, more was wrong.   It turns out that I solved the problem myself with a lot of trial and error and perseverance.  The location of the printer and our computers would not have allowed practical USB or ethernet connection tests.

The computer has been grateful to the printer, but few of the functions of the printer did not work.  I kept getting notices that I need to be connected to Internet... and yet I was.   Instead, I followed every remedies proposed, and finally met and installed the HP Print & Scan Dr.   The full program would not even install, but I did use uninstall and reinstall the feature on the Dr. P & S and I noticed several MB difference between program he installed and which had been installed until then.

The error kept showing a network connection problem, but I had already restarted the router several times.  When I got to the printer, I had loaded it a stable and permanent address through the router, so every time I "uninstalled and reinstalled then" software, it always by default the preset number on the router... that has been a blessing!  Finally, I got on the Web site of the real, connected and re-configured router the network connection on the printer using the PIN # that was generated (the WPS buttons had failed earlier) However, it happened, the resumed printer connected and I was able to print a test page.  All is well again.

  • Error 1053 of the print spooler for HP Officejet 6500 a Plus All in One printer

I get this error every time I try to install this printer. When I try to start the spooler in Services file, this error pops up. I ran a diagnostic and found that there may be errors of registry key in some files, but I don't kn Ow how to get rid of them. I tried every way start the print spooler, but he won't let me. Other diagnostic tools do not work because I can't even install the printer of dam. Help!

The print spooler is a Microsoft services so that they would be the best people to talk to.  Most likely, the registry keys for the print spooler has not installed right.  My advice would be to format and reinstall the OS, but you can see what Microsoft has to say before doing this.  They may know a solution for this specific error.  Here is a link to a discussion I found on Microsoft Community on this issue.  I hope this helps.

  • UNABLE TO COMPLETE REINSTALLATION OF THE SOFTWARE STARTER FOR HP OFFICEJET 6500 WIRELESS PRINTER-E709n

After uninstalling printer of subject and try to reinstall using the start for printer software, I was not able to complete the installation.  After reaching step 4 on 4 set up your product 96%, the message "Fatal error during Installation" appeared. I tried the diagnosis not recommended and used the doctor printing & scanning without success.  I uninstalled and reinstalled several times.  I also tried to download the software to install it on the HP website.  I can do basic printing, but I can't scan or use HP solutions and cannot use some Quicken printing features.  I have not had any problems with the printer before you uninstall.  I uninstalled because I was experimenting with a new software of greeting.  My operating system is Windows Vista-32 bit.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z: how to get the hardware support for HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z

I'm probably in the wrong forum, but I'm not anywhere else to go.  Just throw it out there and I hope someone has the answer.

My very reliable Officejet printer has lost the ability to feed paper from the paper tray.  It is that decend on top of paper rolls and are believed to feed the paper until the collection of wheels.  The rolls go down, but they don't happen, and therefore no paper feed.  I can gently push the individual sheets until the collection of wheels and printing works very well.

Has anyone dealt with this kind of problem.  Of course, it's hardware related and I'll probably have to bring somewhere for repairs.  It's a great printer for several years and I look forward to replace themselves.

    Thank you.

I bought a new printer because the cost to fix this little problem is higher than the purchase of a new machine.
