SOLVED: PC Windows 7 cannot access remote shares or the

Head, meet wall. Wall, meet the leader.

I have a W7/64 PC that cannot access network shares. He has been installed from the original CD (simple installation) but never worked. Resettlement is not a preferred option because the client already has tons of data and applications on it.

Other machines can access the local shares of this PC, but it can access any remote shares (on any other PC W7) or his own - in short customer service around file sharing does not work properly, although this machine can see all available actions... She just can't access. Other PC can access machines that cannot do this. Ping works fine in all cases.

"Remote machines appear in the list of"Network"in Windows Explorer, but trying to access them produces an error: the specified network provider name is invalid.

No software anti-virus or firewall is currently installed or running.

Troubleshooting output (the local computer is named GARRYDMK-PC):

I'm trying to access here to all actions are available to all other machines of W7 in the network. (All machines are W7 boxes).

Note how the workstation service is said not having started, but in fact has already started summer (which I checked in the list of services). In short, this does not appear be related to a service does not...

I went through all the standard movements as posted on the Interwebs, including the verification of services, local policies, home groups, convenience stores, and which do not. Note that I tried to start the workstation service via a DOS box as an administrator; If I'm not I get a "system error 5 has occurred" and and "access denied".

In short, I am completely puzzled. I start the troubleshooting of this PC, but now I want to just pull it. Please help before something bad happens... :-)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Windows 8, cannot access NAs shares

I have a NAS QNAP TS-212, I see the shares on the Windows 7 computer, however, I do not see the same share of Machine in Windows 8.

    \\192.168.1.6

gives me the error message below.

\\192.168.1.6 is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The account is not authorized to login from this station.

The interesting part is that I don't know where the message is generated by. I see the same actions and Windows 7 drive machine formed using the same connection id. I even turned off the firewall of Windows 8 to test. It really looks like a problem of Windows 8.

Ha ha--just buy another device Windows8 (Surface) and had the same problem. Had to look it up in this post to remember how to solve. This time, I add the name (rather than the ip address) and it worked. Happy days :)

I have a Win 7 laptop with work and customer Win 7 VPN set up, and through it that I can access everything allowed resources on the remote network.

    Win 7 64 bit SP 1

I did research online and suggestions have already had reason of my new set up.  In addition, I have a second computer that I've set up the VPN client, and I'm having the same problem.  VPN connects successfully, but is unable to access the resources.

Tested with firewall off the coast.

Troubleshooting Diagnostic reports: your computer seems to be configured correctly, distance resources detected, but not answered do not.

I created another VPN client on the new computer to another remote network and everything works perfectly.

Remember the old VPN connection to the remote network that does not work on the new computer works perfectly on Win 7 64 bit laptop computer.

So, what do I find also different between identical configurations "should be" where we work and two new machines is not?

  • Ent of Windows 7. Apart from 2012 - Windows cannot access \\server\share$

I have a treatment of strange problem with part of 2012 R2.  We have a lab with 30 workstations Windows 7 Enterprise.  They all have the same office via a redirection of folder GPO applied to a share on the server of 2012 R2 mentioned above.  All but 4 of them can connect and pull on the desktop the appropriate shortcuts, network folders, etc.

The share permissions so no denies explicit.  In an effort to solve this problem, I added everyone and authenticated users, with read permissions on top of the appropriate ad group object that already had read permissions and, of course, SYSTEM and with full control Domain Admins.  NTFS permissions have, of course, CREATOR OWNER, SYSTEM and with full control Domain Admins.  Also, the appropriate ad group has read permissions.  No NTFS clear or rejects the request.

Using the same account that belongs to the appropriate group or my domain administrator account (which has no office redirected) I can connect to all the workstations and all, but the four mentioned above get the redirected folder desktop.  When I authenticate my account with DA and try to connect to the share on these four computers I get the same error to the user:

    Network error

    Windows cannot access \\SERVER\Share$

You are not allowed to access \\SERVER\Share$.  Contact your network administrator to request access.

I think we've all seen this error before.  But I only saw him associated with NTFS permission issues or sharing.  Frankly I'm perplexed.  Any ideas on what's going on?

Edited to add: I don't think it's a problem with sharing.  Clearly, it's a matter of workstation since 26 of 30 machines Win 7 can be connected without difficulty.  And I don't think it's a matter of profile either since I've never authenticated on these workstations with my domain account.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

Cannot access Pathname you have the appropriate permissions. Cannot download updates gives error code 643 and error code 5. Always gives access denied. You do not have the appropriate permissions. I am the administrator. Change all the complete control. Any other suggestions? Possible virus?

    Hello

You are unable to download the updates?

Try the following steps to resolve the problem:

Method 1: Temporarily disable any security (including firewalls) software and check if the problem persists.

    Check out these links:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

If disabling the security software solves the problem, then contact the manufacturer of the specific security software to fix the problem.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable
your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are
connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:
See the article mentioned below and run the Fixit diagnostic tool to fix the error 643.

You receive error code 80070643 0 x or 0 x 643, code error when you use the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates:

  • Set security on 'Decline' for users of Windows/object, cannot access a drive C and d. 'Access denied'-[[problem solved]]

    last updated *.

Problem is SOLVED. Read my response at the bottom of this thread.

    * Update *.

Solved for drive D as now but it is still not accessible. Help the Microsoft Experts kindly. By clicking on the C drive, I got "access denied."

    Hello world.

I need help. I have windows 8, 64 bit computer laptop.  This system has 3 active accounts now. Account_One that is my administrator account. I have another

"limited account" created on my machine Account_two and the third one is "Guest account" account that is enabled.

Before you lend my cell phone to a friend in Account_two login I tried to restrict access to drives C and D of this Account_two which is a limited account.

While I was doing it, I put approval for object 'Windows users' 'decline '. This object is usually the last in the list of objects on the window that appears when we sail to click with the right button on C drive > properties > Security. I realized that instead of

for Account_two I did for Windows users / which means maybe Windows/users / * which covered my admin account too and that too on the drive root C.

When I connected to my Account_one account that is an administrator account, I'm not able to access drive C and D where I put the authorization of 'decline' for all the attributes as shown above to object/Windows users.

One of the folder that was on my desktop allows me to go inside the d drive as I kept this shortcut for easy access, but there is no way to navigate from c or d ' training on domestic issues. Not just me even Windows can not access important services such as 'Restore' and many others built in utilities of windows which simply will not charge blinking message windows has no access to it!

Please help how to access drive C and D for my administrator account. I am connected to this account now, but can not access drive C or d. when I go to the Security tab in the drive C and D right click Properties I get the screen it as: you must have read allowed to view the properties of this object. Click Advanced to continue. When I click on advanced, I see the "advanced security settings for local disk (d :)), where the owner is presented as: unable to display current owner."  Exchange (Link) when I click on 'Change' I get the error message: cannot open access control editor access is denied.

So I put the Windows/user object to "deny" on the tab security for all read and writes, and I'm not able to access anything whatsoever since my administrator account.

Please let me know how to change access to 'allow' for c and D drive for the object user/Windows. From now there is no way to access this object by result cannot set permissions there.

    Help, please.

    Thank you very much.

    Thank you very much.

    Problem is SOLVED!

After three days of effort I was finally able to fix this mess.  It took me three days after going through many similar positions as mine but no final answer or fix, so I kept

through the 'access denied' messages on this community and won an idea on what

had happened and what needed to be done. What I found that there are several hundred people

like me, who have faced this problem and there is no final official help file to explain how to fix

He IS but he MICROSFT official 'support chat' where they ask for $149 to connect remotely and difficulty

    the problem!

in any case, here's how I solved my problem for people who need to fix it in case it happens to you.

How the problem began; Read my original post above on top. In short, I set the security setting to refuse to

Users of Windows/under the Security tab that comes after a right click drive then properties > Security. I put it and lost access to all readers!

    How I fixed it.

Thanks to some nice people on this page of the community who have posted knowledge. A man had displayed the creation of "Administrator" "guest account of orders that I did now, I could sign out of my account and get on the 'Administrator' account with admin privileges so that I could fix it the mess on my account problem. So if you have similar problem first create the command prompt administrator account. However this only solved the problem partially as I could reverse the problem only on drive D and not on the drive C. I was able to go to security settings and set the properties 'allow' for drive D, but I was not able to read the page of security for drive C as he said I haven't read privilege he even newly created admin account.

Now if I needed the "Access denied" problem on drive C. I continued through messages of so many "access denied" here and discovered about utilities like SFC, TAKEOWN, ICACLS, but none of them worked from the command prompt I always said "access denied."

Thing was to take the mouse to the right of the screen and get this blue bar, then settings > change PC settings > General - Advanced startup-press the button -. Then he made up the blue screen, where you have the option called troubleshooting... go there and then advanced setting > look to start Windows from the command prompt. Do you have a command prompt with C:\windows\system32 on the command prompt. Here, my order was accepted both takeown and icacls. If I shot a command there: TAKEOWN /F /R C:\/a and I also tried icacls to give permissions after checking using the syntax on the command line itself. All commands ran successfully this time, but be careful what you give in the command. It's under a lien high built based on the account of Windows 8.

Takeown command executed successfully and it solved my problem. I leave the command prompt then connected to this administrator account. This time, I could go to the Security tab of the C drive and set allow it for users here. Still on some issues, I was getting no access permission, but I was asked to change it to allow me to access to and I was able to do.

For access to the C drive on the Security tab, you need to go to the 'Advanced' and change the owner too.

in any case I'm happy this is finally resolved even if I wasn't getting much help responds I used the previous positions of other threads to solve.

Since he was not an official help of WINDOWS or MICROSOFT on that page, I'm sure I did the security setting while making the methods of trial and error on my machine which may not be the right setting from the point of view of security in general, so I'll try to reset the default state machine as my problem is now solved.

So I fixed it. If you need help let me know and I'll try to help you, and I do not charge $149 or $99.  ;-)

  • Windows 7 cannot access shared MacBook

Now, I understand the ads this whole Networking Wireless is a new feature in Windows 7, but I have my MacBook put in place to share folders and it has set up to share with the computers in the window, on some occasions, they appear on my Windows 7 computer, but I have not changed anything about computers and my MacBook is not appear in the network window Although since the MacBook I can access the Windows 7 computer, even if I need for Windows 7 access the MacBook. So no idea on why Windows 7 cannot see my MacBook?

Alos if you need to know the MacBook is under Snow Leopard.

In fact, Windows 7 done a much better job of sharing with OS X, Vista did. No change to the registry is required. On my network, it's almost as easy as the networking on the Mac side.

On OS X, make sure you have checked in the file sharing system preferences > sharing. Click the Options button, and then select "share files and folders using SMB." Add the shared directories as you wish.

You must create accounts/passwords user on the Mac and Windows 7. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY the MOST SIMPLE . If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop in Win7 (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this.

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

You can find options to logon automatically for OS X in system preferences > accounts.

On Win7, go to control panel > all items in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You do not want to use Homegroup.

    Turn on WE network discovery
Turn ON file and sharing printers
Put IT in the section sharing public folder
    Turn ON password protected sharing

Configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, Configuration File and Printer Sharing ON will take care of that for these machines, and if you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. Don't STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE them PROPERLY.

OS X Firewall is done in System Preferences > Security. Click the lock to make changes, and then click the Advanced button to ensure that SMB sharing is allowed. If you set up in the share pod, it will be.

On Win7, create shares as desired. I usually just share the Public, users desktop folder and all hard drives of additional data in the system. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Cannot access internet after installing the latest Windows Update

    * Original title: Question access to the internet after you have installed the latest update

Last week, I installed the latest update of Windows 8, however once installed, I was no longer able to access the internet and became a message saying that the page cannot be displayed. Below it there is a button to click to solve the problem of connection but I did and it came back with no connection problem.

I reset my router, but there was no question that I could access the internet on my phone and my roommates laptop. The only way that I could access the internet again was to restore my pc and remove install.

I was then forced to install the update tonight and it's the same thing so I had to uninstall these updates again to access the internet.

Can you please tell how can I install the update it will affect my ability to access the internet?
