Some Web sites (sites of Gawker for example) will not hold back my settings or connection information even if I ask to save them. Most of the other sites are fine.

Last week I changed some of my passwords and now some of the sites that I changed the connection info to no longer keep connect even though I have asked to do. For example, I would ask Gawker sites remember I want to see their sites to view blog that I always, but after an hour, it will always return to the default settings. Other sites I sign in and 30 to 60 minutes later I come back and get disconnected.

There is a difference between remembering the name and the password in the password manager and a check box "remember me" on a web page to connect automatically.

The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and which is sent to the server.

If that "remember me" cookie is deleted or is corrupted or is not send to the server, then the server do you remember no more, and you must connect once more.

Clear the cache and cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > advanced > network > storage (Cache) offline: 'clear now '.

'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

If clearing cookies doesn't help, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other files to present as cookie cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

  • Some Web sites are displayed in Japanese.

I messed with my computer settings for a long time and since then, some sites Web will appear in Japanese. Currently, I'm trying to access https://squareup.com/

The Web site loads in English, but once I log in, it passed to Japanese. In my account settings, only two language options are English and Spanish, so it isn't that. I changed my language preference on Firefox to be English and cleared my cache and cookies from this site in particular, but not luck. I also checked the default location of my computer option in the region and language of my control panel. It had been set at the Japan, but I changed to the United States and restarted my computer. This has no effect on the site.

What other options do you think this could come from? I'm running out of things to tinker with.

Well, a solution has been found.

In the menu Options in Firefox, you can go to the content and choose your preferred language, right? I had mine set to English, but the Japanese was also in the list. Although being not marked as favorite, she apparently became favorite on some Web sites, maybe bad encoding, maybe lucky, I don't know. What I had to do was to remove entirely the Japanese in this list.

I thought that this could happen because there are a lot of Japanese users who also have English in their lists, and therefore Firefox guess I'm Japanese, learn English as a second language?

Anyway, if you have this problem, remove it from the list and it should be fine.

Recently, my Toshiba hard drive failed on my Satellite L500.  I replaced it with a new 500 GB hard drive.  And then used my Toshiba restore to out of the box, however, as stated in the subject, it shows most of the Microsoft Services do not work.  As suggested in another post, I ran MGADiag and here's what I copied.  What kind of help you can give is appreciated.

After reading through all the same problems here, I found a post that mentions a WD drive disc that I put in after the failure of my Toshiba HD.   I followed the link that took me to a page of HP but I installed the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver (IRRT) via the provided download link and hop, from this moment, things seem to be fixed.

  • Some Web sites will not load

Some websites will not load or partially charge and will be usually just load the site title and nothing else and will have a spinning wheel at the top which will not stop.
They tend to work on FF before, but no more.

Also, when I click on another link or something like that it will show the whole page as it is supposed to be for the duration it takes to switch the clicked link. I can, for example, (though I'm pretty fast) click on another link and then cancel it and I'll be able to see the page (in some really weird stuff).

I read something about Java Script doing this problem, I turned off Java script and I could see some of the sites, but Needless to say that certain features of the Web site are lost.
Happens on websites very little well but still enough to annoy me. I don't like not only 2 or 3 sites from switching browsers.

I'm sure it has something to do with Java Script, but was not able to understand that even after reading some of the questions here.

Here are 2 websites that no longer works:
    http://www.parkablogs.com/
    http://www.latest-hairstyles.com/

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

  • Some Web sites do not display the fonts in firefox.

For a while through a number of updates, I see that on some Web sites, rolling stone and cnbc are two example. If I go to the fonts in my computer and click on restore default settings for fonts, it solved that temporarily the problem. If I go to the settings and disable Web sites use their own fonts, it solves but fonts do not appear as sites intend to make them appear. This does not happen in other browsers, firefox only. I reinstalled windows fonts 7. I tried to disable hardware acceleration... Still has not solved the problem. How can I solve this problem in firefox?

Do you know if there is a model of policing does not work? If you right click on the text of the problem and choose inspect element (Q), Firefox should open the Inspector tool in the lower part of the tab. On the right side in front of the HTML source code is a box that can usually shows the style rules. Click small heading fonts to show the font used for the text of the problem.

When I visit the site, the text of the problem is in "Close Gotham" (with more than words displayed in the attached screenshots). These are downloadable fonts.

  • Some Web Sites display blue text on the left without images

It doesn't matter what browser I use, some web sites appear as single text in blue on the left without images in all. I am very frustrated and tried all sorts of things: empty my cache, my history of clearing installation of flash, shockwave, java installation, etc. Anyone know how to fix this?

Style sheets are the rules for the display of the items on the page. For example, change the list of links of chips in a horizontal row without underscore is done with style rules.

This page on worldnews.nbcnews.com gets most of its stylesheets to a completely different server, www.cdn.newsvine.com. If a filter is binding "third party" content (there may be other names for it) which could explain why the problem occurs on some sites and not others.

Try to disable all filters of content including the ad blockers.

  • Some Web sites do not show text correctly but only in Firefox

Firefox does not display text on some web sites, all I get are |, <>of arrows, points etc and yet I can see very well in Chrome or IE pages. IV removed my FF, disabled theme Add ons and check if everything is updated and still nothing.

Its really annoying, the main site, I have a problem with is http://www.three.co.uk but I just discovered this site well http://css-plus.com/examples/plugins/PlusSlider/ there has been others in the past, but I just ignored it for a while but now its annoying me! 99.99% of the sites are absolutely perfect and if I disabled style sheets I see the text very well, but of course, it's all left aligned etc.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Try the pref gfx.content.azure.enabled set to false or if this does not help disable Direct2D by setting the pref gfx.direct2d.disabled true on the subject: config page and leave hardware acceleration enabled otherwise.

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall the update of Windows KB2670838 if you have this update.

  • Cannot print from some Web sites. OK to print from IE.

2 updates ago I can't print from some Web sites, for example, print a coupon after an investigation, save... all places, check I used to be able to print from. Have Win7, HP PC and printer. Talked with HP, this problem with Firefox support as IE prints from these fine sites. Help, please!

Sorry, I don't know how or why an obsolete add-on would be installed on a new PC, probably related to the installation of the printer of HP on the new PC software. I doubt if she was transferred with Firefox data files, as the SWP HP add-on is not installed directly in Firefox - is installed when the Firefox profile is all first run after installing the HP software and Firefox see a 'new add-on"in the registry, it would be rejected by Firefox due to the lack of compatibility of version number. My guess is that the whole profile has been copied to the new PC to an existing installation of Firefox that already had this Add on SWP installed and not only the data files of Firefox.

Help Mozilla make sure your favorite add-ons get updated for upcoming Firefox releases by using this extension to report whether they still work or are having some issues with alpha and beta releases. Note: Recommended for alpha and beta users only!

The add-on Compatibility Reporter is intended to allow technically incompatible (internal version number is too low for the used version of Firefox on) modules so that the user can see if the add-on is or is not compatible and then report on the status at Mozilla. It does not solve an addition really incompatible or broken, it is the developer of each add-on to make the Fixin's. Yes, it is useful, when used as intended and not in anticipation of it being a 'magic wand' or an elixir. There is no "panacea" for the compatibility of modules.

But that will change with Firefox 10, who will assume that add-ons for Firefox 4.0 or more are "compatible" with 10 Firefox and not turn off these modules as does now because of the "apparent incompatibility" based on version numbers. On the surface, it seems like a good idea, but once users begin having problems with Firefox Add-ons that have previously been disabled (due to mismatch of version number) - it's going to be trying to figure what add-on, each user is at the origin of the problems - in many more we see now. I am a pessimist by nature, that's my prediction of what we could do with 10 Firefox and the 'assumption that all modules are really compatible'.

  • Safari crashes when you visit some Web sites.

Safari freezes when I visit certain websites. The sites include espn.go.com and www.nytimes.com. I think it might have something to do with the graphics on the page. I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed. The gel causes me to restart the computer by using the toggle switch, as my mouse pointer can move, but can't click on anything. Thanks for the help.

This seems to be the same problem that has affected particularly other Mac and PC users for the past two months, all over the world. Amazon sites especially behave badly in this regard, giving rise to not only the phenomenon of gel, but also the appearance of spinning beachball dreaded Mac. There has been lengthy discussions within these forums about this. Almost all browsers and all platforms are affected by this. Flash doesn't seem to be a factor, and the last three versions of Mac OS x - Mavericks and El Capitan, Yosemite - are also affected.

The problem seems to be caused by Javascript has changed to some Web sites, which now makes these sites less compatible with browsers. My own investigations have shown that, in the case of Safari, the problem was sensitive to the fontsize. Certainly, in the case of the iMac, if you went in the settings of Safari preferences, to the Advanced tab and set the browser fontsize on 14 or less, he avoided the question and subsequently, the site was stable. In your case, you use a MacBook, but nevertheless it might be useful to try the same thing.

This problem is widespread, but it will never be fixed unless and until Apple is enough complaints from users. So, complain! http://www.apple.com/feedback. Web sites have to say so, but it is not so easy to communicate with their developers, I found.

This question has become huge in its importance. Apple seems insensitive to this (or selfless), even after a few months.

My personal opinion is that, regardless of the implementation "upset" JavaScript on the Web sites, Safari itself has a few bugs in this area. I found the beachball appearing momentarily (with no adverse effect after) when switching back to using the Web to an embedded application or the GUI of my router, for example.

  • HP Officejet 4500 Wireless XP operating system fails to print a page of some web sites

For material when I go to a seondary screen from the main web site to get a hotel or motel confirmation number and I'll print the page it does not print. The printer icon in the taskbar (1) document ready to be printed. I tried all the steps in the HP Solution but the problem still persists. By trial and error I discovered a simple solution which is just stopping and restarting my PC and then the document mysteriously begins to print what is in the what it's always very aggravating. No quick fix would be useful instead of a bunch of steps which I already crossed.

Just to check, you are always able to print from your computer, but the specific issue that you are experiencing is the impression of some Web sites.

For this kind of problem, this is an issue involving the browser you use. My recommendation is to use a different web browser (if you are using Internet Explorer, try using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for example).

  • Gibberish, loading up on some Web sites

So, for some time now, some Web sites have been appearing as pretty much gibberish. Just a series of things of brand black diamond-question thoes. I thought it was a problem of encoding, but I couldn't fix it, so I just used chrome for the weird site, I needed. In any case, now it has began to appear in more and more Web sites, and now finally it appears when I try to access my google account, making access to my impossible Email (on firefox). Here's a screenshot.

I still think that it is a coding problem, but my infernal fiddeling doesn't seem to be changing anything at all.

Any help would be great. I do not like the idea of switching to Chrome.

Since the update to Firefox 6 I found that some Web sites a change upward to 5 minutes to load. The same websites load quickly on IE. I had hoped that Firefox 7 should solve this problem, but it happened. If there is no solution, I'll probably have to stop using Firefox.

Why this link does not go to the IANA, rather than this site?

Many people have found that setting the maximum number of connections to: config for a lower number has solved the problem of slow Firefox.

    Network.http.Max - connections - default value is now trying to 256 - 48

Oh yes, I also have a hotspot to verizon as a secondary ability that I can use without any problems.
