Someone from the Tristate MJ (not sure of the name), called, saying that it represents the widows team of Microsoft Support. They had followed my computer (Windows 7) and noticed problems with it because it was very slow at startup (TRUE). He said that my computer has been hacked. He gave me my product windows (OK) key and me had discovered my event log that have trouble with my printer. Then he asked permission to take over my computer and fix the problem. At this point, I hesitated.
The question is done Microsoft outsource monitoring Windows 7 computer in trouble. It seems very likely.

Hello
I was going to replace some of my old text, parsing code with these 2 functions (that I guess they are more effective and more elegant than my code), but I'll probably wait a while... at least until that specified. I wonder how these functions manage colones and if there are any other 'special' characters which has escaped or replaced. I can't find anywhere in the documentation that these two functions are supposed to escape from anything, so the behavior is quite surprising.
Here is the code:
DECLARE v_vc_arr2 apex_application_global.vc_arr2; v_vc2 VARCHAR2(100); BEGIN v_vc_arr2(1) := 'abc:123'; v_vc_arr2(2) := 'def:456'; --convert to string v_vc2 := apex_util.table_to_string(v_vc_arr2,','); dbms_output.put_line(v_vc2); --returns abc:123,def:456 (both colons are being escaped) but expected output would be abc:123,def:456 --convert back to an array v_vc_arr2 := apex_util.string_to_table (v_vc2, ','); FOR i IN 1..v_vc_arr2.count LOOP DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(v_vc_arr2(i)); /* --output is (: is unescaped only in one case) abc:123 def:456 --expected output would be abc:123 def:456 */ END LOOP; END;
Please, everyone has no explanation why semicolons sometimes are unescaped, sometimes not and why they escaped even? It would be really nice to read the source code for these two functions, because the behavior is a complete mystery to me.
Thank you very much
Pavel
Hi Pavel,
Sorry, I haven't read the entire thread. The string_to_table function does not cancel the replacement ":" in the last element. There is no other (UN-) escape. It has been like that since the beginning, and this is probably the reason why there are several string_to_table % and table_to_string % functions in wwv_flow_utilities, with a slightly different behavior. I added the functions split/join wwv_flow_utilities and we use these in the new code. We should really do new audiences in a press release, because they are healthier and more powerful.
Unfortunately, I have to repeat that any change to the existing public API functions could cause regressions, so we can not do this.
Kind regards
Christian

Original title: scams?
I continue to receive calls from numbers not available with an Indian accent saying that they are from the Technical Department of windows and I have a problem with my computer. Normally, I just say that I don't have and hung up. Today, I took a little further and he said that they discovered that I had loads of malware/viruses etc and that they could identify with them. I was obviously very suspicious because he seemed to have my correct Windows ID number and with care on 'Run' he told me to type things like cmd eventviewer and inf where he referred to a file 1394.pnf. I stopped while he asked remotely to access my computer. However, I got a phone number 01916450337 and his P786000 id I noticed that many people are posting on your forum-is this another one of those scams?
Continue to put the phone down. They are all crooks.
They get you to open Event Viewer, because there are words such as 'critical' and 'error' along the this.

Microsoft has none of the unsolicited telephone calls to help you fix your computer
In this type of scam cybercriminals are calling you and claim to be of Support technique Microsoft. They offer help with your computer problems. Once scammers have earned your trust, they try to steal and damage your computer with malicious software, including viruses and spyware.
Although the law enforcement can trace phone numbers, often authors use pay telephones, disposable cell phones or stolen cellular phone numbers. Better avoid fooling themselves rather than try to repair the damage afterwards.
Treat all unsolicited sceptically telephone calls. Don't provide personal information.
If you receive an unsolicited call from someone who claims to be from Technical Support Microsoft, hang up. We do not have such calls.
If you think you might be a victim of fraud, you can report it. For more information, see: what to do if you think you have been scammed.

There are two select statement, which are as follows: 1) select project id, the name of ppm.pm_projects project_name and request_id 2) select id, name from request_type_name to kcrt_request_details. There is a column called entity that can store a value i.e. project or request. I want to write a select statement containing a condition that is if the entity name is project and then run the select statement 1 otherwise, if the name of the entity's request, then run the select statement 2. All this must be written in a select statement. Can someone help me how to write this select statement type.

In which table is this column? Assuming that it is in a table called entity_table, you can do something like this:
SELECT project AS id
project name AS the name
OF ppm.pm_projects
WHEN THERE IS)
SELECT 1
Of entity_table
Entity WHERE = "Project".
)
UNION ALL
SELECT request_id ID
request_type_name AS name
OF kcrt_request_details
WHEN THERE IS)
SELECT 1
Of entity_table
Entity WHERE = 'ask '.
)
;
This does not have anything on the number of lines is entity_table, or what are the values in the column of the entity. In other words, the query works in all cases. If any line in entity_table entity = 'Project', then the pm_projects data will be included in the result set. If any line in entity_table entity = 'Request', kcrt_request_details data will be included.
I hope that answers your question.
If this isn't the case, please post a small example data (CREATE TABLE and only relevant columns, INSERT statements) for all of the tables involved and the results desired from these data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get these results from these data.

Phone call claiming to be from the Windows team
I just received a phone call claiming to be from the Windows team in Ontario (Canada) saying that my computer was downloading tons of things on the web, and it had infected and it was my computer. I'm guessing it's a scam?
Fake phone calls to technical support
Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.
Please see:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/online-privacy/msname.aspx .
Microsoft issues never not solicited for phone calls of support or security.
These types of callers can use completely fictitious names or bogusly claim to be of real companies other than Microsoft as well.

someone calls saying that I got error reports to the CSM of hacker in my computer
someone calls saying that I got error reports to the CSM of hacker in my computer
they had me hold the windows key and r for program box run then type eventwr to show me message error and warning because of pirates, the top of the cookie type show I have no files to delete all cookies in the folder, then certmgrmsc to show my windows is not certified, then iexplore. support.me to check on the warning and error messages. they wanted me to enter a code 789470 in the last 'iexplore. support.me. I told him how I know that it is that they say it is tec /msc / he gave me his name to John Maher higher tech and Roger Williams first calling me an another tech with a 1-818-572-1445 number to call him back to. I told her that I had no money in my account right now to pay for 5 years @ 199.00 or life 119.00. I don't think these guys are for real. I didn't call back and they are supposed to call me tomorrow if I don't call them all first for money to pay for. We can get them or?
It's a scam. Just ignore it - they are just trying to make you pay for fake support services, or trying to access your computer to steal information.
If you let their distance in, do a full scan and change your passwords on your important accounts.
