Something I did accidentally (I think) caused the tabs in the window at the bottom of the screen to move to a sidebar arrangement. How can I restore it?

How can I reset these tabs to appear at the bottom of the screen? I noticed that when I develop the width of the sidebar, all my desktop icons get scrambled to different places and I have to manually put them back where they were.

You should be able to drag the Windows taskbar to its position at the bottom of the screen.
Better is to lock the taskbar via the context menu to avoid such accidental movement.
