Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft community. Sorry for the delay in responding. What version of the Windows operating system is installed? It's Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or Windows 10? How many accounts user are there in the computer? What was any recent change in hardware or software on the computer?

    Hello

Well, there is nothing to see. I guess the camera asking BIOS password and it of not possible to remove the BIOS password without knowing the old.
If you n t know the password the only way to remove it is to contact the Toshiba service partner in your country. Only the ASP can remove this password.

  • Portege M400: Why am I not asked a password at startup?

    Hello

I have a Portege M400 and I used the Toshiba security software help put in place a the BIOS boot password, but also a protection of HARD drive password. This software, as well as the true BIOS (Esc + F1 at startup) show that the password I set is recorded or recognized.

However, I'm not really asked any of these passwords when I start the computer.

I have a system to dual-boot with the original WinXP for Tablet PC on one of the partitions and one Feisty Ubuntu on another. My boot loader is GRUB, but I do not understand why this should affect the behavior of the BIOS which should arrive before calling the bootstrapper...

Can someone help me with this? It would be really important for me to protect my BIOS and the hard drive.

    Thanks in advance,
    dsokus

    1. check your security settings with password for Toshiba utility. Are these these configured correctly?
2 you have the user or supervisor password? If you only set the supervisor password that you are not prompted for the password.
    3. try to put the HDD and user pw in the initial bios setup (press ESC when prowering on).

  • Ask for password at startup pc?

Given that I uninstalled avg and install essentials microsoft my firewall is to stay. But I still have this problem. When I turn on pc there is a box just asking admins name and password, but I just click ok, then he continues to open the office. This box comes in a blue screen. It was not always there. I have windows xp, Internet ex8 [sp3]. I tried restoreing but he says he can't do that. I ran ms fix it also made the disk check. None of these permits.

    Hello

It's probably the BIOS password that gets the permit. I suggest you to turn it off, or may also contact the manufacturer of the computer to turn off.

  • 15 Firefox asks the password at startup

Variants of this problem are found in closed discussions, but this problem is new to me and I used FF since Netscape folded. After update FF15, I get this on 3 different machines. When I open FF I am, before opening a page, invited to enter the password. If I click on a protected page password too fast, the box "enter the master password" appears twice and a half of the password goes in a box and the other half in the other. I find it very irritating. After the opening of FF, the only solution is to wait anything from 10 seconds to a minute for the box to appear.

Acting on a suggestion of a poster on the site of "La FAQ de Netscape", I went to create a new Firefox profile. There I was told first to reset Firefox. I did, and the problem seems to be resolved. I didn't have this control, which is clearly useful to be able to fall back on.

  • Satellite C660-15r - restore Windows 7 without password

I bought Toshiba Satellite C660-15r off someone, but the problem is that there is a password at startup upward.
It's very well because I was about to restore it somehow but when I go to the restoration of windows you need a password to access.

Is it possible to reinstall windows with using windows restore. I really hope that someone can help you.

    My advice is to follow:
When you buy used laptop install OS again to have the own operating system preinstalled. Use the Toshiba recovery image, if possible.
Just a question: do you mean password BIOS or Windows login password?

If the previous user has put a password, you need and without that password, you can do nothing.
If the pre-installed OS is locked with password login, you can install OS using recovery DVDs and you don't need any password for it. I just hope that the previous owner has created this recovery DVDs.

  • Windows 7 fingerprint "password required"

On my Elitebook 2760p, I have given my fingerprints successfully in the console HP protect tools.  It recognizes my fingerprints and allows me to use them to change the forest of schooling of fingerprints for any other purpose.

When it comes to logging on Windows 7, it will not work.

I am asked to swipe an enrolled finger and seems to agree - she then gives a message: "the system cannot open session. Your required password"

I saw a post that suggests that the BIOS settings might be the problem ("Rigorous security Disable" and "Ask the password at startup") but if slippery fingerprints is not allowed on the device, so I guess that the machine requires you to slide a finger... I can't access the BIOS settings to verify what the values are.

Can someone suggest another cause? What setting is there that requires a fingerprint scan and shows that you are not allowed to swipe?

    Hello

    The following worked for me:

-Go to the HP ProtectTools Security Manager

    -Administration (bottom left)-> administration Console

    -Develop "powers".

    -Select "footprints."

-Click on the button "delete all data"-> Apply

    -Close the "Management Console".

    -Go to "Manager of credentials.

-Select "Footprints" and carry on the registration of finger.

Worked immediately after I did it.

  • Pavilion p6641f: password at startup before windows opens

My PC seems to have been hacked and asks for a password at startup until I get even on windos 10 screen.  I don't know what to short of a system restore... I have upgraded to Windows 10 last year, but my computer came with Windows 7 when I bought it.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

    Rafael57

    Rafael

    Rafael.

    It has been hacked.

    It is the SYSKEY password.

You should try to restore to an earlier date before you start.

Most of the time, they remove all restore date to prevent you from doing this.

If this is the case, then you will need to do a full system restore.

    Sorry Rafael.

  • Windows 8 Remote Desktop keeps asking for password wifi

recently I reset my wifi network id and password.  After this "implementation of windows remote desktop 8" keeps poping up asking wifi password. It happens like every five seconds when I'm connected to the internet. After you enter the password and click ok, it happens again! I can't really do anything like pages Web surfing or watching youtube videos.  The only way to stop it is to disconnect from the internet.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jing,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience you encounter with guests Remote Office for password. I will certainly help you in this matter.

Sometimes, this problem occurs if you don't have a password set for your local administrative user account. To set a password, you can press the key combination CTRL + ALT + DELETE on the screen, click change password, type and confirm the password.

Login again and try to enter the WiFi password. Check if the number is reproduced.

Alternatively, if you do use Remote Desktop, you can try to disable the remote desktop in system properties and check if it helps.

    1. Press Windows key + R.
    2. In the Run dialog box, type SystemPropertiesRemote.exe , and then press ENTER.
    3. Unlike what allows the connection, select don't allow connections to this computer remotely.
    4. Click OK.

NOTE: You can always activate the setting by clicking on the option allow in step 3.

See the screenshot below for assistance.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Why Windows asked for a password to steam?

I have install parental control in Windows 8 on the laptop of my children.  It will solve so many problems, and help me to monitor my children.  They have standard user accounts and access to all applications and games to 10 +.  However, at the opening of steam (to execute terrariums) they ask an administrator password.  Steam has been set to run as administrator (rt click, properties, advanced, run as administrator) both shortcuts and program.  Help, please!

    Hi Cheryl,

Given that you have activated parental control programs, please try to run the program without using the administrator level. This should run the program using the current account balance and would prevent asking administrator password. Please follow these steps:

    1. right click on the shortcut or menu item.

    2. Select Properties.

    3. go to the compatibility tab.

    4. click on the change settings for all users.

    5. uncheck the run this program as an administrator.

6 do it again to the program itself.

Please let us know if that would work.

    Thank you!
