Songs slipped on e280!

Just got a great opportunity Sansa E280.  I use it for my most classic works. Today, I put a whole bunch of CD on it - not by using the method of synchronization, but not just by clicking on the music and saying "send to" Sansa.

All by listening to my Sansa and make scroll songs/songs, I noticed a few unconventional songs slipped on the drive.  I put them on, honest!  I plugged in the computer and couldn't find these songs on the My E-reader/computer (USB Sansa slot) to remove...  Where the hell are they?  I can't find them!  And how did they slip out there?

Christina

Sync means that you somehow in the mode MTP, leaving the device is controlled by the blind tyranny of Windows Media Player and Auto-Sync.

Return to PSG, delete them, he return to MSC (not Auto-Detect), and you'll be fine.

  • Sansa e280: songs disappear

Tonight, when I unplugged in my e280 from my PC after downloading a few songs, all the songs on the device disappeared.

When I disconnected my player from my computer, the screen popped up with a message "refresh data", and then after that he did all the songs (except those preloaded) I had on the player disappeared. Some of the files that disappeared were moved to the unknown artist folder and are corrupt (they freeze my player every time that I select them). The news on the device indicates that memory is 7634 MB, free space is 3432 MB and the number of songs is 289. But all I can see are the preloaded songs and corrupted files of music a little more than a hundred. When I plugged the drive into my computer, the computer can see all the files of music very well, but when the player is disconnected there is nothing.

I had this unit in October 2007. I already have the latest firmware version1 for my player. And this law which disappears once before. But the last time about 300 songs were removed and about 200 were left on the drive. This time, all the songs have disappeared.

I don't want to go get another sansa, because the only new with enough GBs are physically too big and the only small sansas do not have enough GBs. This player was perfect for me. I just fixed it! Could someone please help?

    Thank you!

Too bad! I Redid the disk check, and everything is fine now. When I made it last night, I did it in read-only mode and that has not worked. The second time I did it, I chose 'Automatically fix file system errors', but that no longer works. Then this morning, I chose "will search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" all the songs are back.

    Third time is the charm.

  • Delete songs from e280

Can someone help remove the songs from the device (as opposed to connect to the computer)?  I can't find an option 'Remove' on my player.

You should have posted this in the map of the e200 series. The Commission Questions frequently asked and suggested Stickies is NOT the place for all messages from 1st time! We want to keep things ON-TOPIC as much as we can.

Agreed, moved this thread to the FAQ and the Forum Stickies.  -µsansa

Now to your problem... The REMOVE feature is available models of v2, v1 not. Here is a link to a post to explain the differences.

Even if you do not have a v2, using embedded DELETION is OK to get rid of 1 or 2 songs, but if you want to delete an entire album (or several) for example, you're better to connect to your computer and delete them via Windows Explorer.

If you have a v1 unit, connecting & using this method is your only option.

  • How to add and remove songs to a 2nd ipod in iTunes

I have a 2nd ipod connected to my iTunes account however I'm having trouble to add and remove songs on this 2nd ipod.

FAQ says simply drag a song from the list of music on the playlist to add and song highlight and press Delete to delete however by dragging the song more did not work and I can't find a tab delete when I select a song to remove.

Thanks for any help and advice.

Select the relevant tracks, and then press delete or Backspace should be used to remove the device.

If files slipped and dropped to this topic does not transfer so it may be best to restore the device, then recharge it. In practice, making lists of reading with the content you want to sync to each device and then synchronize each device with its corresponding list may be easier to manage manually.

  • audio cd transfer to sansa e280

How can I transfer audio cd to sansa e280?

Yep, drag and drop them on the "rocket".

The subject line accidentally used a technical term.

Audio CD is used to designate the .wav files are commercially released CD.  An album on CD's often (like Audio CD) .cda files who run your computer for real songs .wav files.

"Rip" means convert (most often in .mp3). You already have mp3s. Someone has already pulled them.

When Windows Media Player asks you an Audio CD, this means a CD like those you buy in a store. When WMP asks you if you want to make an Audio CD, this means a CD of .wav files that will play on a portable CD player or home. Remember those? Current which will probably also play MP3s, but original CD players do not have.

  • Series E, how many MAX songs per folder?

Guys, my e280 made only about 250 songs per folder. Is this normal? I have around 1000 songs in the can but not only did I not find other folders, I prefer have everything in ONE folder.

    Thank you

    George

Sorry, but if the e200 has indeed a 250 per folder limit file, there is no way around it. You will have to create multiple folders, if you want to store more than 250 songs. If you do not want to bother with an organization of artist/album (or whatever it is structured in the same rigid way) as the tapeworm suggests, you might just name them folder1, folder2, folder3, etc..

To play your songs in a random order, simply turn on "Shuffle" in the settings and play together. The e200 will find your files in any folder, they are in.

  • Will not rewind the song

Hi, I have just mployment bought a Fuze + this past weekend and I have problems. When I got it, the songs would be rewing/fastfoward. Now, if I swipe to the screen, it ignores the song. Also, each time that I slipped, it would change the Equalizer on the song. In addition, no mattewe what file extension, I try to convert, nothing will add to the player. It's frustrating! And Yes, I did update the firmware.

Rewind is pressing and holding the left button bridge do not hit to swipe. If you try to convert the video make sure that it is not protected by DRM you you may also download a codec pack if the codecs are missing from your computer. K - Lite codec pack is a free good. If you use the SCM that could be a problem as well, but it is not required for Fuze +, so you can download any converter you like. a good that I use is "any video converter" it's free and works well. video conversion settings are displayed at the top of this map.

  • Sansa e280: problem bad track/formatting (screenshots included)

Hello, I have had my Sansa e280 for a little less than a year now, and have not had any problems. recently, however, I met a block that prevented me from using my Sansa.

first of all, I turned off my Sansa one afternoon while listening to a certain title. minutes later I turn it back on to finish listening to it, and it gives me a message "Bad Track" and refuses to play. This message appears for more than half of the music that was on my Sansa (no one who has ever had this problem). I tried a few things common sense, as the withdrawal and replacement of the music. that did not help, the message was the same on the same tracks. so I removed all my Sansa music and went to the internet to find the problem.

most of the people with this problem are being told to format the Sansa. I followed the same steps several times to deal with the "this device cannot complete the format" or some nonsense. so currently, I had the original problem can only be fixed with something I can't do. In addition, my Sansa is on my desk in two pieces (I took the case off voltage and battery, nothing major).

In addition, I can't delete the video files that I have on my Sansa when I tried to manually empty my Sansa, it gives me an error in the sense of "the device cannot complete the task because it has stopped responding / is not connected.

Finally, I tried to do the other way of formatting, by starting it upward in the recovery and as a result a FAQ that I found on this site, but when I enter the removable disk in my computer, there is nothing there but a text of the document which essentially lists the details of the product.

to drag more far, here some screenshots are accompanied by more questions.

in the first note above, there are three songs, two from Rancid and one named ' AV74B8 ~ 1.MP3 '. I have no idea what is the last of them, or why he says that there is music on there - especially when I can restart it and go into the music folder and it says . Also note that they have a 0:00:00 duration.

circled in red are a ton of the same file, that too, I don't know what they are or how they did it.

Blue Square at the top, the "MUSIC" folder When I walk into this folder, it brings me to the next image

    http://i91.Photobucket.com/albums/K298/Armageddon_04/sansaproblem2.jpg

who is concerned, the same as the record in the first photo, just to show that images and not in the details. If I get the 'MUSIC' folder into this folder, it keeps looping to several records 'MUSIC '. is this a problem? I just thought it was weird

and here is a picture of my Sansa connected in recovery, there is no hidden files, I checked.

I hope this is enough information to get a response, because that's all that I can provide - please help, all entries is appreciate

You have corrupted files. You must run the command Chkdsk before attempting to format. The instructions are under #9 in the FAQsection. Also read # 12 everything in you'e it. ChkDsk will look for corrupted files and repair them (with a bit of luck). As much as you seem to have, you will need to format it after.

The reason why you were not able to format up to now is 1.) your files are too corrupt. They need to be repaired to the point where they can be deleted by formatting and 2.) It seems that if your player is in MTP mode. You must switch to MSC mode to format.

Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. It's just that you'll have to re - load it all after formatting. If you have recently added a few songs just before this problem started, look in the ID3tags of songs with a program like MP3TAG before you put them on your player. If you have any strange characters or foreigners in here, especially in the COMMENTS section, delete them. The correct version of tag you want is ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1. There are other versions, but this is one (the only) who will work on the Sansas.

If you have corrupted ID3tags and not corrected before re - load these files on your drive, you're going to do this whole procedure all over again. Just take it step by step and you will be OK.

  • E280 No. list of music and much more

I can't see a list of the songs that are on the player e280 when I on my computer and Explore the files it contains.  There isn't any folder for them.  I have 6 GB charged thereon.  I want to Format the drive and then reload it. This will delete ALL the files that are on it to include all files of operation?  Does make a difference if the loaded songs in itunes or Windows format files?

Switch your USB mode. Files transferred in a mode (MTP or MSC) are not visible or accessible in the other. Also the MUSIC folder is hidden by default. You must indicate to Windows of UN-hide ' it.

I want to Format the drive and then reload it. This will delete ALL the files that are on it to include all files of operation?

Formatting will erase all the files installed by the user content, but not firmware or system.

Does make a difference if the loaded songs in itunes or Windows format files?

Perhaps. As long as the stuff of itunes is .mp3, .mp4, or .aac not this shit I have owner, they play. If they are, you will need to convert them.

  • Sansa e280: multiple paths to the devices during the synchronization and no MUSIC file

    Feature: Sandisk Sansa e280 8G

    version: 01.02.24A

I had a problem with my e280. A month ago, I started getting an error message during playback of my music files. The error says "Syncronize to continue music subscription" I have synced to my computer, nothing helps. Soon ALL my music files were giving me this error message. I went on the Sansa website, where I was directed to download and run the device Sansa Recovery Console. I did as instructed, and now when I join my e280, I get TWO paths of devices (E: / and F: /). I am only able to access one of them (E: /). F: / is noted as removable drive and not going anywhere. When I enter in E: / I can not find my music files. When I remove my camera, he did a restart of automatic system, as soon as the restart was successful, it updates the database for about 10 minutes. I synced the device and my computer prompted me to format the device. I formatted and I still no MUSIC file. The device has been wiped and I thought it would be best to seek professional help until I made the situation worse.

If there is any other information needed to tell me what it is and, in the worst case scenario, how to find and I'll post it as soon as POSSIBLE. I know it's a lot of problems for a single device, but any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you for your time,

    Dibbz

Unless you are dealing with the Rhapsody subscription service, the error message "sync" is probably due to problems, DRM , Windows Media Player created without your knowledge. It is turned on by default in WMP, & unless you know about it from the start, you can do it yourself untold headaches.

If you are ripping from CD to the .wma format, uncheck the option 'Copy protect' in the rip settings tab. It's the guy causing the problem. If you do not rip your own CD and downloading these songs instead, they have a DRM encryption. Try a different and/or source format. MP3 files don't have any crippling DRM.

You must delete the files on the drive and start over with new, best non - DRM. If RIP you to .mp3 format, it won't be a problem, more there are other benefits on the Microsoft/WMP .wma format.

When connected in MSC mode, your computer will detect your drive as just another flash storage device; actually 2 separate devices. 1 will be your drive (internal memory). In your case, E:. F: received the external memory card slot, if there is a card in it or not. If you have no card in the slot, that's why he 'not going anywhere '. Perfectly natural and nothing bad here.

The MUSIC folder (and others) are hidden by default. You have to display .

Formatting will erase all content, so this is only necessary performed as a last resort. It's a PITA to re - load it all so that you do not want to unless it is absolutely necessary. But now that yours is formatted, you can start over w/o of the DRM BS and your problems should go away.

  • E280 v2 plays a track and returns to the menu music

Hello.  I bought a v2 e280 a few weeks ago, and the unit worked fine until yesterday.  I use Windows Media Player 11, and XP v2 and WMP 11 both recognized my e280 each time, until yesterday.  The problems are many, but the main thing I notice is that when I select a playlist for playback, my e280 will play a track (usually the first one) and then he comes back to the music menu.  When I try to pass through the screens of reading to see the next song, I won't get it even the screen (it justs gives options Timer, EQ, and album art).  Forward > | button has stopped working properly as well.  I have the old firmware 03.01.11A and tried to update the firmware.  My PC stopped recognizing my e280 yesterday as well but I couldn't understand how to upgrade the firmware without this recognition.  Now the power button for 15-20 seconds just seems also to power on then off.  Oh, and I removed all the tracks in my GoList, thinking that maybe the problem.  But that solves nothing.

And when I say it worked fine until yesterday, I mean it sync with WMP11 as a breeze, addition of playlists and titles I had created in WMP11, read playlists with random and repetition, and had no problem with the music downloaded on Amazon or CD.  Until yesterday.

Did you add any music or do something different with the unit yesterday?

The 1st thing you'll want to do is update the firmware. This can solve the problem in its entirety, but even if it is not it will make it easier to deal with. In addition, the update adds a nice touch and bug fixes. You can read "what's new" in the post firmware.

Check out this post for instructions on upgrading your f/w. There is a link to the version firmware inside post. Let us know what has changed or is the same, after that, you (and also if you have said or done anything, just before this happened that could have caused the problem).

  • E280 dropped... now it does not work - HELP!

I dropped my e280 and now it does not start.  Here's the thing... I can always connect to my PC and can still transfer music, playlists and so on.  I have a car charger, and when it is connected, I can listen to the music and see the songs, etc..  The problem is if it is not connected to anything it does not illuminate.  I had plugged to the PC for 4 hours and looks like it is still loading the battery.  So... any advice on what I should do to get this thing working again?  I was going to communicate directly with SanDisk, but thought I would try here firsrt.  Thank you!!

    Tim

Maybe you hit the loose battery when you dropped it. Open the back (four small screws), remove the battery and put it again firmly.

  • E280 is dead!

Hi just post a few problems with my Sansa e280 8 gb. Worked fine in the morning, but when I turned on the afternoon that it froze right after playing a song and be reset. Played a video, it was very good, I went back to the music and froze again. Came home thinking I might need to update or delete music on it, but now, because it is in mode of MCP it impossible to update the database and therefore not will not come on my PC, and worse still when it freezes the fades to black screen and sounds pretty bad. Is it the battery or is it something else?

    See you soon

It is probably not the battery.

Try first a soft reset - press and hold the menu/power for 15 to 30 seconds.  This should force the unit to power off.  Turn it back on by pressing power menu again.

I don't know what is MCP mode.  You have options of the MTP or MSC mode to choose from with the players of e200 (or Auto).  On a v2 template, you can force MSC mode by putting the HOLD button on the locked position and holding down the | < button="" while="" connecting="" to="" the="" pc. ="" (one="" way="" to="" identify="" a="" v2="" is="" the="" sandisk="" logo="" will="" have="" a="" blue=""> Under Sandisk Sansa when unit comes on first.)  There is no way to force the MSC mode on a v1 model, but you do not have a Recovery Mode you can reach by engaging the HOLD switch as above, but keeps the RECORD button instead of the.<>

Assuming you have a v2 template, you can try to connect in MSC mode, bypassing the updating of the database.  If you turn off the player first, then try to manually force MSC mode, you may be able to connect to the computer in MSC mode until the player never gets to the place where it hangs on the update database process.  At this point, you can just format the drive by right clicking on the drive in my computer and select Format (FAT32).

If you have a model v1, you will need to format via the Recovery Mode.  Once connected in Recovery Mode, you'll have a 16 MB-FORMAT drive in my computer.  Open it and create a new folder named sansa.fmt in the root directory of the volume 16 MB-FORMAT.  Once you unplug the computer, the reader will see the sansa.fmt folder and start formatting itself.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DIRECTLY FORMAT VOLUME 16 MB-FORMAT!  IT IS VERY BAD KARMA TO TRY TO DO.  YOUR CROPS WILL ALL FAIL IN THE FIELDS AND WILL DRY YOUR PROPERTY!

Note that the format of your player will correct the problem of blocking of data refresh, but it will remove all your multimedia files.  It's a good idea to have a folder on your hard drive containing backups of all your media files.

Once you get the operational return player you must verify that you have the latest firmware for the last versions are more robust with respect to the issue of locking of the refresh database.

  • Why Windows Media Player plays the song wrong when I click it in a playlist?

I did a huge selection automatically (with 145 songs) with five-star is Windows Media Player 12 in Windows 7 on my Dell XPS L702X.

So, let's say that I want to hear "Everybody Hurts [edit]" r.e.m. I click on n, it starts WMP play "Slips through my fingers" by Agneta Fältskog!
He plays another song which is 24 positions above!
At first, it used only for touch me when I was sorting the songs in the playlist by Genre, Album, year, etc... But now, even with the contributing artist, he played another song!
The only way for her to play the song I want is with some navigation arrow keys or when I clicked on the playlist and I'd get a unsorted list. With the unsorted list, I find the song.
It's a difficult problem, but I have a temporary solution. But please try to find an answer!
EDIT: now at random. Unsorted perspective will give me wrong songs and the artist's view contributing sort will give me good music! What a mix! Say that it is a "re - Mix"!

  • When I drag files in WMP the sequence of songs is not because it is in the list of files. the first certain tracks are at the bottom of the playlist

When I drag music files in WMP and in the field of reading list, the sequence of songs is not as it should be determined in accordance with the list of files in Explorer windows, the first or the first few tracks are at the bottom of the playlis.
For example when I drag the track 1 to 10 in WMP playlist could end up with the 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,1,2,3 sequence. It ranges from which follow playlist starts with, but the first track (s) (rare) is at the bottom every time.

    PS. Shuffle is not lit.

Is not necessarily any indication of a fault as WMP does this, even when it is running correctly [he apparently gets files loaded in the order that they appear in the allocation table disk files].

    You can

1 after dragging in the playlist, drag files to the top or to the bottom of the playlist in the desired order before you save the playlist.

2 Allocate Index properties for each track before slipping as WMP then normally behave correctly when you drag them.

3 you can also drag the in WMP individually to achieve the same end result.
