Sony DCR-TRV740 camcorder

You will need to transfer loads of old family videotapes of Sony DCR-TRV740 for Dell XPS430 running Vista 32 bit.

Transfer is OK with the older laptop (Dell Inspiron 8500 running XP) using the USB connection.  Can also change (slowly, poor quality) with Windows Moviemaker.

But Sony says no USB driver available for Vista. Sony suggested Firewire iLink from camera to the PC, but the camera is not recognized in the Device Manager and therefore can not transfer them to PC. Tried to import Sony Movie Studio 9 Platinum ProPack and VS Video Recorder software - recognizes neither the camera.

My question - is anyone have solution?

Would upgrading to Windows 7 works? (Professional and ultimate edition both include an XP Mode)... Fees - but who let me use the driver XP Sony? or Firewire?

Get desperate - have spent days on this skin.

You have an analog source and a system that recognizes digital.

If you happen also has a DV camera... the following articles may be the answer.

Another solution would be to buy an analog video capture device:

Where to download the free driver for sony dcr-ip220 camcorder?

Home premium to Windows 7 64 bit.

    Hello Roberta,.

According to the news located here (http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support-info.pl?template=&info_id=549&mdl=DCRIP220), the drivers you need "to connect your Sony camcorder to a computer and transfer files are already in the operating system.".

However, some software do not work under Windows 7, but at least you can transfer your files from camcorder to computer. You can use Windows Movie Maker or an app 3rd - party to do the work of the Sony software that no longer works.

Let me know if this helps you.

    Kind regards

  • What software is good for the SONY DCR-DVD201 camcorder?

I have a SONY DCR-DVD201 camcorder, that work very well on my old Windows XP, but I hated the ImageMixer software. For my new Windows should 7 (HP p6280t), I look for new drivers at Microsoft? SONY is a for Windows 7 yet.

Can I buy another software (except ImageMixer) which would work on Windows 7 and can access/modify my DVDs of camcorder?

When you plug it in Windows install drivers for it?  If, then you can use Windows Live Movie Maker, otherwise you will have to wait for Sony to release a Win7 driver for it.

How can I get rid of the e:31.00 error code in my Sony DCR sr68 camcorder

    Hello, axel028!

If I'm not mistaken, the E:31:00 error code can occur on hard drive camcorders and indicates there is a format error on the hard disk of the camcorder. A kind of data corruption occurred.

If possible, try to first back up all the data saved on the disk hard camcorder to a computer. It will try to reformat the hard drive in the camcorder.

Try resetting the camcorder. How to reset the camcorder is in this link below:

    https://us.en.KB.Sony.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/39511

If you have tried to reformat the hard drive in the camcorder or you have reset the camera (or both), and the problem is not resolved, then the service may be required.

    Sorry for the inconvenience!

    Best regards

  • Sony DCR-SR85 will look grainy in first elements 7

I was using a Sony DCR-SR85 camcorder with a 60 GB hard drive. Latey I noticed that when I save my wife's horse in the arena the video seems a bit grainy when I down load it into prime Elements 7. I say grainy, but maybe it's not the right word. The pens have conducted horizontal and the pixels with the pipes to almost make a wave in the background. The horse looks very well in the video, I am shooting in standard mode, but is planning to go to high quality mode to see if that helps. I give work area in the calendar after I downloaded the video pre 7. He always looks a little weird every time you move anything with near multiple horizontal lines. (as a kind of enclosure)

    HI -.

Your camcorder is what we called a 'hybrid' and can shoot in a variety of standard definition modes and levels of quality. It is difficult to advise you without knowing a few details.

What mode are you? If you go to edit your video in Premiere Elements, you can shoot in HQ mode.

When you set up your project first Elements, that project settings did you use? You must use the disc hard/Flash Memory Camcorder Project / Standard definition preset for this type of camcorder.

How did you get the video from your camcorder to your computer? In version 7, you should be attaching the camcorder to your computer via USB, and then use the Media Downloader items first (tab organize, go to get media / AVCHD or other hard drive camcorder) to import the video into your project.

Although, by nature, your computer will focus on your camcorder interlacing (which appear as horizontal lines) and these are not issues when you play your video on your TV, there are certainly graphic problems that are inevitable. As all videographers, know you should never shoot video of a person wearing a striped shirt or a person standing in front of Venetian blinds. Narrow lines produce a distortion called a moire - and if that's what you see, there is not much that can be done on that, with the exception, do not shoot, unfortunately.

  • Sony Mini DV DCR-TRV18E camcorder to my computer laptop 64 bit Windows 7. The camera is not compatible with this version of Windows.

I can't connect my Sony Mini DV DCR-TRV18E camcorder to my computer laptop 64 bit Windows 7. The camera is not compatible with this version of Windows. Does this mean that I can't import my old videos? Thank you.

Yes, this says it's not compatible. So I don't think it'll work in Win7. There a firewire connection? If this is the case you can use it if the laptop has firewire top. All you need is a cable

  • I can move video from Sony DCR-SR42 files to a memory stick?

Please show me how to move a movie from a disk file to a memory stick Sony DCR-SR42 hard. Thank you.

Location Memory Stick of the DCR-SR42 is used to record images and so it is not directly the camcorder can transfer files from the hard drive to a Memory Stick. However, once you have the camcorder connected to your computer, you can then move the files using your computer.

  • Video camera Sony DCR-SR68

I bought a Sony DCR - SR 68 camcorder opportunity, taking nice videos. The problems started when I tried to connect the camera to my computer to download videos; the computer does not recognize the camera. I bought a new power cord patch directly to parts of Sony, but it made no difference. My question is this; It had to be a software CD provided with the camera when it was purchased new one would download on your computer so that the computer will 'see' the recorded video when you plugged into the computer? Any info anyone could send me would be GREATLY appreciated! Don

So, I tried all the suggestions that have been given and; did not work. Unable to download Sony's suggested reading memories because my computer is Windows XP and download requires Vista 7 or more recent system. Have you tried the camera to the computer of a friend who is much more recent than mine but he has the last iteneration of Windows XP for the operating system, and it opened fine on his office, then that may of little help... Don

  • Unable to capture video from digital camera Sony DCR-HC26

I replaced a PC under Windows XP with a new PC running Windows 7 Home Premium and I was not able to connect my Sony Handycam DCR-HC26 digital tape camera to the new PC.  I use an I-link (firewire) cable.  The camera seems to be recognized by the PC as a Sony DCR-HC26E, but trying to capture the video, the following message appears: "failed to find the camcorder (band). Check the i.LINK to the Handycam. "I suspect a problem driver type is the cause but I'm running out of ideas on how to solve this problem.  Any ideas?

    Curry,

    I don't understand your suggestion.

    1. When you say "entry for firewire (IEEE1394)", do you mean "entry for controllers Host Bus IEEE 1394"?
    2. When you say "pilot LEGACY", what is it and where can I get a "LEGACY driver"?  (I clicked on properties for the Texas Instrument 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller and did not find anything on "LEGACY").

    Bruce

Hey, maybe I can answer this question.
1 double-click on controllers Host Bus IEEE 1394 you will find the appeal of device 'compatible OHCI 1394 host controller ".
    2. highlight the 'compatible OHCI 1394 host controller' right click on "update driver software".
    3. Select 'Browse my computer for driver software ".
    4. at the bottom of the window, select "Let Me pick from a list of device driver on my computer.
    5. you can select "1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (legacy)" as the driver and then click "Next".
