What should I do or download to transfer a 2 minute video of my Sony Handycam camcorder to my computer or USB?

Hello

Follow the steps mentioned below to move video files from the camcorder to the computer.

(2) turn on the camcorder and open the articulated screen. Select USB screen. Tap on computer on the screen.

(3) double-click on the icon my computer on the desktop of your PC. The my computer window opens to reveal the camcorder as a new storage device. If the camcorder is does not appear as an icon, try it turn on and off and on the flip-out computer selection screen once more.

  • Sony Handycam/HP Pavilion laptop g6

    I have a HP Pavilion g6 (C6S45EA #ABU) with Windows 8.1

I also own a Sony Handycam DCR-HC44E. Unfortunately, my laptop does not recognize my camcorder and tells me that I have to download a missing driver. Of course, for the moment, I have no way transfer info since the strips to the laptop. Sony said that the Handycam USB driver is not supported by Windows 8 so I can't use a USB connection. Moreover, they say that I can use a connection i.Link (FireWire) using PMB as a content transfer software. However, if the laptop doesn't have an i.Link port, which I think it didn't, I will need to get either an i-link to a converter cable USB which does not always, or should I buy a FireWire PCI card for laptop / FireWire PCMCIA card port, if the laptop has a port PCMCIA. the g6's and if so it will work?

If anyone has a clues how I can solve this problem?

    ewg46,

According to the specifications of your computer, it does not resemble your willing of a PCMCIA port, which today is not surprising.

Looks like you need to try one of the alternatives that you suggested.

    Good luck with it,

  • Setting of an old Sony Handycam Video 8

I have this old Sony Handycam Video 8 1990, I remember playing with as a kid. And I still remember worked up to a point where it just wouldn't read videos (for no reason) when I turn it on the black player a few trips and none of the playback buttons work (except eject) it charges thin strips and I even clicked on file and it worked (he was shooting and not errors) I plug into my TV (camera mode works it shows on the TV) but the player is not at all. Someone please help

    Thank you

    Hi iLeet,

From your description of the problem, it seems that the leader of band and record head seems to be the problem, the internal switches also seem to have malfunctioned. This unit would need to service; However, since it is a very old camcorder, we recommend you to buy a new camcorder with advanced features rather than fix it.

  • Not able to connect Sony HandyCam via USB

I have a Sony HandyCam DCR-DVD905E, which was acquired a few years back.  I've never had a problem plug it into my laptop Vista 32 via a USB cable.  However, recently, my computer stopped recognizing the camcorder and tell me that the driver installation failed and I have to contact the manufacturer of the device.  But according to Sony, the driver of this model USB device should be included in the operating system, which I believe because it allows to work perfectly.  In any case, can someone help me find the device driver so that I can reinstall it.  Thank you.

    Hi Cyyl,

You should be able to download the driver from the Web site below. Try and let me know.

  • Camera Sony HandyCam DCR-TRV280 is not recognized by Windows 7

I have a Sony HandyCam DCR-TRV280, a Toshiba L505D-S5963 running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - bit.  My PC does not recognize the camera.  I loaded all drivers and updates to date mentioned above, but when you say to "go into the Device Manager and find the entry for the firewire (IEEE1394) change the driver for the IEEE1394 driver LEGACY and now your camcorder will be able to speak correctly on your PC.", my device driver does not list an IEEE 1394 device.   However, I tried to load the copy and save the 1394bus.sys to C:\Windows\system32\drivers file, but it will not accept a .inf, .sys not file.  I really appreciate all the information below, but would appreciate a little more help.   Thank you

    Hello Softail1015,

In addition to the response of Amrita M, please relay exact model number and type of the Sony camcorder.  You can also view the link below, provided by the manufacturer of the device that contains compatibility information and pilot for the Handycam from Sony DCR-TRV280 Digital8 camcorder:

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/us/Perl/SWU-list.pl?MDL=DCRTRV280&SelectOS=46#div_pos_124

In addition, it seems that the Sony DCR-TRV280 may require an IEEE 1394 connection to transfer the video from the camcorder to the computer. You can also check with the manufacturer of the device to check if the Sony DCR-TRV280 supports the transfer of DV via USB or USB streaming.

You can also view the link below, provided by the manufacturer of the device that describes the steps to know how to transfer video to a computer using an i.LINK (IEEE 1394) connection using the digital camcorder:

I hope this information is useful.

  • Sony Handycam DCR-SR68

    Hello
About six months ago I bought a Sony Handycam DCR-SR68. It displays the message: can't access HARD drive. How to eliminate this problem?
    Thank you!

Hello. If you experience a problem where the camcorder is not able to access the HARD disk, it would mean that there is an underlying problem with the HARD drive. Try to run MEDIA FORMAT, but take note that this will delete all files. If it does not solve the problem, RESET the camcorder (press the tiny reset button located in the lower part of the Panel where the LCD is going). If it still does not work, unit may require service. BTW, 6 months would mean that your still in warranty for the parts, but not for work. I hope this helps.
