• Sony VGN - CR220E Webcam does not work after installing windows 7

  I recently installed windows 7 (not updated, clean installation of windows 7 on my Sony VGN-CR220E, and now my webcam does not work.

  Have already tried the tricks I know and searched the web and there are many others having the same problem, and there are number of recommended suggest solutions. Have tried several of them and has not worked for me after 2 days. Can someone who has actually had this problem and managed to fix it, please let me know.

  Method 1.
  Interestingly, I found the drivers for Windows 7 for this particular model of Vaio. Here is link thye:

  I suggest updating all your drivers from the link above and drivers Realtek especially.

  Method 2. Set the default Microphone.

  Once the drivers installed to check if the microphone is the default value, here's how:

  Exercise the functions mentioned below to adjust the Microphone as default:
  1. Click Start and click on Control Panel.
  2. click on sound, then a new window will open.
  3. in the new windows, click on the 'Registration' tab and right click in the window and click Show disabled devices.
  4. now check if the Microphone is listed there and right-click on it and choose activate.
  5. turn highlighted that Microphone and click "set as default".

  If you've used windows update for drivers which was a mistake, then visit Sony support and reinstall all the drivers available.

  PC manufacturers are innovative and the drivers are specific to this machine to & the model, even more with a laptop. If Windows Update should never be used for drivers, unless the PC manufacturer said.

  There's an app to webcam on the Sony support site for your model

  If you still have problems, go back to the Sony Support and state that your two day old PC does not work and say that you need them to replace.

• Drive DVD Sony Vaio VGN - CR31S F: does not work

  Laptop is about 4-5 years, it was working fine until just recently, I tried to fix with Windows difficulty It Centre, but in vain. Drive (F) no longer recognizes no matter what media (CD of Scripture and other), or it will allow ripping/burning.  The drive from DVD (F) is an a Toshiba... If that's any help.

  I tried to run a cd that came with my sony walkman but the cd does not work
  I went to Device Manager and noticed that there is a yellow triangle of information to the: TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS - L632H ATA Device

  It has a messege when I try to update the driver
  (Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information for configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged (Code 19))

  Any suggestions please?

  The solution is very simple;
  First of all, remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD.
  Then start the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  After that reboot the device, wait that the OS has acknowledged again the STRANGE and finally test.

  It's funny you mention that, because I had the same problem with mine.

  I thought I was doing something wrong... Not that I use the HDMI to the camera, find it odd that it didn't work.

  Can connect the logic of tv on my hdmi from my computer, get a signal without problem, but out of my F55, same question you encounter.
