Sorry, but I'm confused! Z61T card slot

Could someone please tell me what the card slot is for certain, above two USB ports on the left side of the machine?

I try to add an ExpressCard 34mm (firewire 1394b (800) with a stabilizer of 34mm - 54 mm) and do not know if the card is faulty or I have the wrong card or place. No sign of what appears in the Device Manager and "new hardware not listed do not when it is attached.

I told you, I was confused.

Help, please!

In the details on the Lenovo site, it refers to: -.

PC card

  • Conforms to the Standard 95 PC card
  • Type II interface
  • Both card 32-bit CardBus card 16 - bit Release 2.1 standard are supported.

Type II - BUT, under the 'Expansion', it refers to

Berries

  • A built-in, easy to load modular Ultrabay Slim
  • Type II PC Card slot
  • One ExpressCard/54 slot

Hi solariski,

It's a PC card slot, and according to personal lenovo reference book you can use Type I or Type II card. There is no ExpressCard on Z61t card as it appears. Was also a thread on this subject:- http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=35769&start=0

ExpressCard and PC card are two different technologies.

I hope this helps.

  • Re: Map Satellite M60-104 PCI Slot or Express Card Slot?

    Hello
I'm confused about what type of adapter should I buy for my expansion slot, on the button, it says that my laptop have card PCI II type: type: express card slot.

So far what I've read, it's the type of card PCI II differ from Express card. I just need to know what my machine supports, a card 54mm or 34 mm card, 16-bit or 32-bit, I don't know, I need to buy an adapter for esata interface to connect my NAS via esata to my laptop for more speed.

Can someone enlighten me on this point, please?
    concerning

Did you look in the user manual?
There are details on the M60 Series.

But AFAIK the M60-104 unit supports the Cardbus 32-bit/PC-Card 16-Bit interface.
For example, you can use 1 x PCMCIA Type II only and 1 x ExpressCard.

  • Re: Can I start on my Satellite L650 SD card slot?

    Hello everyone,

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L650 laptop computer and I am satisfied with this laptop. I use Ubuntu 10.10 and his works fine... no problem with built-in hardware like WiFi, Ethernet etc...

But now I just tried to boot from an SD card in the SD card in the right slot, but it does not work.
At the time of startup, I pressed F12 for the Boot menu, but I tried: floppy drive, USB, etc... all, but it does not boot from the SD card.

The SD card is already formatted as bootable. Is there a way to boot from the SD card slot? My old netbook (Aspire One D-150) could boot from SD card with no problems...

    My BIOS has Version: 1.90

I'm sorry for my bad English and I hope you could understand my problem :-).

    Best wishes

    kneecap!

I m afraid card SD is not provided as a bootable device on this model of laptop.

  • Express card slot models?

I'm hoping to buy a ThinkPad notebook (to replace a previous ThinkPad), but one of my requirements is a Firewire port or an Express Card slot.

So far I can only find an option Express Card in the current range of W.

Is it really the case that no other models have an Express Card slot (or an option for one)?

(Sorry to post this question here but I don't know where else to post it.)

I now noticed one or two other models have a slot for express as a value card by default (although none appear to have a Firewire port). So please ignore my previous post.

  • memory card slot problems

The memory card slot reads 'no photos on memory card' when it is inserted into the slot... He used to work very well... it just started it a month or two it y a. I have a HP psc 2175 all-in-one printer. Is - fixable? Thank you

    Have you tried another card?

If the card used to work have tried in any other device to see if it will read it?

If you buy another card SD Please note

New memory cards are SD HC card, if they are greater than 2 GB.

This printer will not read SD HC, that they were not avalible when this printer was designed originally.

The printer will show 1 GB and 2 GB cards very well that these are not the high capacity cards, there are some 4 GB not HC cards around, but they are very rare.

Sorry it's a physical restraint of an older printer.

  • Express card slot new dv7

I am awaiting delivery of a new dv7. My old laptop (old and still under Windows 98) had a PCMCIA slot I have a couple of cards for. My question is quite simple, the old PCMCIA cards will fall into the new Express card slot?

No, I'm sorry to say that they will not. Although most of the features that people used to use pcmcia cards is attended the computers internal laptop is still a rude awakening for a lot of people when they can use the old card mobile broadband on this new laptop and they must spend more money to get a usb or expresscard version.

  • Satellite R630-155 - no express card slot

    Hello

I have a R630 155 and I have a PC card / Express card slot as far as I know. Toshiba manual shows that it would be just below the optical drive [cd] on the right side of the laptop, but I do not have such a slot. Anyone know if it is possible to run a 'real' serial port using the usb ports. I have hardware installed on the field that requires a real serial port and will not work with normal cable converter usb to serial port that can be purchased. I have an another Toshiba that I use the pc card slot and I did not notice that the new laptop does not seem to have this facility. Maybe someone can help / advise?

    Best regards, peter jones.

    Hi Peter,.

Ist point R630 hat not all models are equipped with a PC card and express card slot. As you can read in the manual that only some models are fitted with this slot machine.

On Amazon and other online shopping, I found a few USB-adapters series so I think that this should be the correct part for you but I n t understand what you mean with real serial port.

In your case I would just test it and if it doesn't work, you can send it back ;)

  • Satellite P200-1FZ: how to insert the smart media card into the card slot

    Hello

I have read the slim manual, and I can't find any info on the card slot. (other than where he lives on the laptop)

Could someone tell me please how to insert my card SmartMedia? the slot is huge and I'm worried about losing the card inside the laptop! I assume that the smart media will be automatically run?...

    Thanks in advance!

It would be good to know what model of laptop you have.
But, normally, for the smaller cards, you will need an adapter that is often included, as for the memory stick pro duo.
I think it's just normal size and you have to put in the middle of the card reader slot until you hear a click.

If you have not changed the AutoPlay settings, you must get a new window with the files on your card, when you put it on your laptop.

  • SD card slot does not work on Windows Vista

I just installed Windows Vista RC1, which has just been published

Just about everything works except the secure digital memory card slot.

Until I installed Vista I ran the Compatibility Wizard and he said a few things that may not work, but the one that stood out was "SD Memory Card Format Utility.

I guess that's why the memory card slot is not working?

Anyone know how to operate? This isn't the end of the world because I can use the docking station, but his practice which he just work directly at the exit.

    Any help would be great.

    Thank you

Maybe the new operating system Vista doesn t include the compatible driver for the SD card controller.
Right now the Vista is not supported by Toshiba because this OS is not official on the market.

  • SD card slot

Im not very tech savvy and it may seem a bit of a silly question. Can anyone tell me if theres a secret at the opening of the SD card on my new spectrum of HP X 2 card reader... I tried to open it with a clip, etc, but without success. Thank you adv lying.

    Hi there @Jooolzz,

Welcome! You have come to the right place to ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! Your question is not silly at all! Infact, there are probably others out there wondering the same question. In this case, remember to mark this message as one Solution that is acceptable for others to find these steps also.

I found documentation which may be interesting for you in this situation or for future reference: use and troubleshooting of memory card readers.

To open the SD card slot on your laptop of HP spectrum X 2, follow the instructions of the Manual:

    • To insert, press and hold the side label card with connectors in the face of the slot, then push the card until it is in place.
    • To remove, press the card and release it quickly. The card comes out.

You can also show your appreciation by clicking thumbs-up.

If you need assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. If please re-post and let me know how these steps happened for you.

    Have a great day!

  • Satellite A100 - how to remove the Memory Stick Pro DUO card slot

    Hey,.

I really need help with how to remove my Memory Stick Pro DUO card slot.

The laptop read the stick very well and I can see all the files into it but I can't seem to get out. I tried to push a little to get out, but it does not work and it's also pretty far in so I can't get out.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello

To my knowledge there is no extra help for Memory Stick Pro DUO removing as on the PCMCIA port.
You should try to get him out. If you n t manage to pull him out with you fingers, you can use a pair of tweezers.
    But be careful.

  • Satellite L30 - how to open the Wireless card slot to upgrade the Wlan card

Y at - it a special way to open the card slot on a Satellite L30 wireless or should I just use a USB adapter wireless... because the crack is there but I can't open it and USB we're boring.

    Thanks for the help...

    GMC

There is no special way. Just 2 screws...
So, if you have a wireless mini-pci network card, then you can open the lid, insert it and use it. But be sure to unscrew the screw more than necessary. :)

And if you´re not able to open it, then you will need to use your boring usb adapter. ;)

  • Is satellite L505 - 10 p - really an Express card slot?

    Hello

In the features of the Toshiba L505 - 10 p, an Express card slot is mentioned. I feel a little stupid for asking this, but where is this slot machine? I see something that looks like this above the entrance to Esata, but it is closed. How to open the slot?

    Thank you very much

    Anaon

    Hello

This laptop doesn't support Slot for Express card.
There is only the bridge Media Slot available that allows you to use these cards: SD Card, SDHC Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMediaCard

  • Satellite 1900-803: what are the specs of the PC card slot?

I have a 1900-803 satellite. can someone tell me where to look whether its pc card slot is a 32-bit or otherwise?

    Hello

I think that information that you might find in the manual of Toshiba which must be preinstalled on the laptop.
On my laptop, I found manual and there is lots of useful information about my unit.
But as far as I know this laptop supports 32-bit/PC-Card 16-Bit interface Cardbus and PCMCIA Type II (x 2) or Type III (1 x)

    Additional information:
In the BIOS, it should be possible to change the settings of PC card.
