Windows xp sp2 Setup error: Setup cannot copy the file: usrshuta.exe.
I want to install windows xp sp2 on the new hard drive and got the following error: Setup cannot copy the file: usrshuta.exe. How to do this?
Hi grant561,
Usrshuta.exe is a process belonging to the family of US Robotics communications hardware and provides additional support to the US Robotics modems.
I suggest that you disconnect all external devices connect to the computer except the keyboard and mouse and proceed with the installation.

I tried to go to windows update but redirected to micrsoft support page, which offers no SP2 and SP3 for windows XP Pro, and yet I don't have a network of computers running windows XP Pro download the SPs would be a disater as it is intended for more than one PC.
It does not give the notice to go to the windows update page, but I can't get there because I do not have windows XP SP 3 installed on my pc, and even if I have it on a disc I couldn't install it anyway because SP 2 is not installed on this pc.
So this pc seems to be thrown into a sort of limbo XP, does anyone know a way I can get these much needed without breaking service packs?

Try to XP Professional Service Pack 2 update for... SP3, with "The Wizard software update Installation" through "automatic Microsoft updates.
Everything is going very well until a "Copy error" window saying:
"Setup cannot copy the file ntldr.
It gives 3 options
1: "Retry" (does not work)
2nd: 'Cancel' ('do you want continue Setup without copying this file?' by clicking 'Yes' gives 'Warning', "" If you cancel copying this file Windows might not work correctly. "") "Are you sure?) and

Hello
I doubt that you can get 64-bit drivers for Windows XP for this laptop from the Toshiba driver page.
I didn t find drivers for Windows XP 64 bits for Toshiba laptops.
Why? I think the Win XP 64 bit was not so popular like Win XP 32 bit and most of the applications have been designed for XP 32 bit OS.If install you XP 64-bit on this computer, you will have to look in the various 3rd party Web sites for the compatible drivers
Good luck
