SP4320... Faulty RAM - Bank B?

Hello! ;)
I have a SP4320 with 128 MB of RAM (64 MB + 64 MB Module aboard).
I wanted to update the RAM with a 2nd module of RAM (64 MB).
but I discovered that each memory module that I insert in the slot B (the black in my case) is not working properly.
for example: when I put the crack A 64 MB Module in the slot B is f * ed up. (win2k-> bluescreens, Doc memory RAM Diag V2.0-> check memory fails) :(
but in the slot has the same module works without problem.
is this a defect of material known on this type of laptop?
and is there a solution for this problem without changing the motherboard?
It's a little annoying because a 256 MB SO - DIMM SD - RAM costs about 40 euros :(
and I don't even know if the NB accepts these great modules...

Pascal

Edit: Sorry for my English 'strange'... ;)

Hello

Your device can handle with 320 MB RAM maximum. The compatible RAM modules are:
PA3003U - 1 M 03 32MB MEMORY KIT
PA3004U - 1 M 06 64 MB MEMORY KIT
PA3005U - 1 M 12 KIT MEMORY OF 128 MB.

According to the specification, you can use two 128 MB module.

Yes, the MBP will work with a single module of RAM installed, but there will be a slight performance decrease.  A MBP 2012 will accept a module of 8 GB RAM.

Is there a way to test if the top housing is faulty or just dirty?

Install each RAM module individually in each slot, leaving the other empty.  If the two RAM modules work in a slot and not the other, the slot is faulty.  Sometimes the adjustment screw can resuscitate the slot.  If this is not the case, make an appointment at an Apple store for a FREE evaluation.

I think that Don t, they're broken, but is there a way to activate the second Bank? The active bank ist of black color, the inactive Bank is white in color. I tested all banks on each laptop, but it's the same on the second laptop.

    Hi Dieter

As much as I know there is no option to turn RAM slots. If the RAM is the right of a y (compatible) shouldn't be a problem.

I don't know that you are trying to use but is a module that is compatible with this unit:

  • iMac G3 Rev a faulty Ram?

Hello, I have a G3 Rev A iMac that will refuse to start when the ram is improved.

    The specifications are:
    G3 233 Mhz
Hard drive 32 GB with OS X 10.3
    96 MB of Ram (1 32MB and 1 64MB)

The machine will start and run fine but when I replace the 64MB stick with a 256 MB stick and try to start, it will just play the chime start and do nothing. The screen never kicks on and it won't start. If I put the old 64 MB stick in it will start normally.

I don't know if the ram of 256 MB stick is incompatible or defective. The 256 MB stick is shown below.

  • How to replace inside the faulty RAM on Satellite M40X 141?

    Hello world
I strongly suspect a main RAM failure. It is possible to replace it by removing a slot or is it is soldered to the motherboard?
In this case is the only way to fix Board replacement?
Like the RAM to be located under the keyboard, which is the best way to proceed for replacement?

Thank you much for the help.

    apipop

    Hey Popy

The laptop has 2 slots, but only one is scalable user.
I think the a slot is located under the keyboard and the expandable slot, you will find at the bottom of the unit.

I think you n t a lot of experience with these replacements. Am I wrong?
I think that these replacement or controls are not very easy for someone who doesn't have enough experience.
So I think you should ask a technician or help!

  • Suspect, I have a SGE2010 with faulty RAM, no matter who wants to look at my logs and confirm, or alternative sugest

    Good afternoon all

    I have a 24port SGE2000P and a 48 SGE2010 port.

    My SGE2000P works brilliantly.

However, my SGE2010 is very bad.  When turned on all the lights of the port rest for awhile.  Then they turn off very briefly and a battery lights before the power clique and it reboots and starts the cycle again.

I connected it to a cable from the console and reports a variety of decompression errors.

    Most common are: -.

    LZMA: Decompression of file failed!

    HOSTG_rscode_file_load: cannot load the file

% OS-A-MEMORY: main system memory Pool overflow

% ERHG-E-SEND: return to the DEFAULT size of the TABLEs

    % ERHG-E-SEND: RSP_INIT: fatal error

    Error fatal file 20d0001.SW loaded error;

Depending on which firmware the switch is on and which mode (stacking or stand-alone), it is.

I tried to change the firmware for: -.

    3.0.0.17

    3.0.0.18

    3.0.1.0

    3.0.2.0

using both Console cable (sigh 25mins) and through TFTP server (on rare occasions I managed to enter).  And I tried the two image of sw 1 and 2 where one of them was defective.

As all 4 of these use the same firmware start the 2.0.0.03 software, which I don't think is replaced as part of the process of the firmware if it's the same thing.  I thought that perhaps it was corrupted.  I tried to install 2.0.7.5 (I think) who has an older startup software.  But it would not downgrade from 3 to 2 allow me.  And it wouldn't make sense that it runs the software before initialization it unpacks the firmware.

I managed to get away from the switch upwards in stand-alone mode, maybe twice 80-100 cycles of power.  But when I tried to make a change, he crashed and restarted.

Finally, I realized if I use my SGE2000P as master of the battery, I could get the SGE2010 to start much more regularly than the unit 3.  Still not 100% but maybe 50% of success.

If I put as unit 2 seems to power cycle and not go up.

Also, when I set up the stack the stack Master network cable on the SGE2000P SGE2000P IP it gave errors on the console of the SGE2010 port, but did not restart.

If I tried to access the master IP SGE2000P Stack WebGui interface, while the cable network plugged on the SGE2010 he crashed and restarted the switch when I entered the admin password.

My theory about the RAM, it's initialization software runs to put me in the debug console menu.  The firmware is OK, as I have replaced it like 20 times and it's calculated PASS.  When he unpacks the firmware in the memory live there defective segments where the errors to decompress.  And as most of the administration is on the master ones why it can impede the long mode battery.

Anyone got help, ideas or suggestions?

    I would be really grateful!

I'm a little at my wits end.

Hi Ewan, these errors are showing no errors loading and table files. Unless there is a serious component failure through xmodem firmware reload should fix this.

Since you already xmodem box I would say based on the main system of the pool error, it is probably a failure of a component.

  • Start stopped Equium A110-276 - seems less RAM slot is defective

    Hey there.

I am trying to sort my latop comrades. He just stopped start one day, when the power button was pushed the power light light up, the DVD - RW would scan for a disc and the brief of HDD LED illuminated. The screen never showed any output, remains black.

After a call to Toshiba, I decided to take a look at the RAM. It seems that the lower slot is faulty. The 2 sticks of RAM work well in the first slot, bringing the machine at the STATION and the shoe, like three other sticks, I tried.
None of those tested work sticks worked in the lower slot, either by themselves or with the top slot filled.

In addition, unlike most chess slot of RAM I saw, instead of the slot has been 'dead' (that is to say memory not recognized and begin with only the location of work), it seems that the POST sequence is interrupted as soon as the HARD drive is questioned (the sequence of work is the HARD drive light flashes, then the monitor active) which would lead me to believe that the post is the gel as he tries to question the faulty RAM Bank.

Yes, is there one option, other than a new motherboard, which can help get this slot machine working again? I've already thoroughly cleaned, t no effect and does someone has an idea why this would happen? The laptop has a life very easy, rarely used, always stored in her purse and enough dust, not hard fall or shocks either. Today was the first time the access panel RAM had even opened, it was factory-equipped memory.

For now, he can run with the RAM one module, and at least he has the opportunity to get a 2 GB module to make up for the shortfall.

    The BIOS version is 1.20

    Hello

My book of 8 years had the same problem. One of the slots was defective.
I put t don't know why, but after a long period of use, it did not work.
So I had two options; either replace the motherboard (not possible because the mobo would cost as much as the entire notebook) or not to use only one bank of memory.

I bought a 1 GB of RAM instead of 2 x 512 MB, and now the laptop runs to search using a single module of RAM.

It may be an option for you. If this isn't the case, then a replacement of the motherboard would be required.

    Good bye

About two days ago a RAM Bank broke out.
If I put the RAM in the FIRST Bank that works, but if I put the RAM in the second Bank - laptop won't start.
I have 256 MB (2 x 128) and winxp little worked slowly... but it worked... now... with 128 MB system starts at 3 minutes... and windows runs VERY very VERY slowly...

How do you think... If I change the smaller motherboard (part with CPU / graphics card / RAM Bank) it can be running? Will this work?

    THX for the help!
    Chris

    Hello Chris

I put t see alternative to use more RAM in the first place. Otherwise, you must exchange the main card to use the two memory slots. If I were you, I would buy a module of compatible RAM (PC133 512 MB-PA3108U - 1 M 51, or PC133 256 MB-PA3086U - 1. 25 M) and unit will go much quicker. You can find these modules on eBay as used one and it will cost you probably not much.

    Main card is expensive.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 after adding RAM does not work, if the serial number on the hard drive doesn't go to Microsoft?

The serial number of the hard drive go to microsoft, I went to reintall my windows after it kept crashing, updated my hard drive, memory, ram.  I think because the serial number is different on the hard drive, it will not be installed.

System becomes inadmissible has nothing to do with the product activation.

The probable cause is faulty RAM or loose, make sure that the memory modules are firmly fixed and mounted in banks of memory on the motherboard.

  • Satellite 1800-100 - is RAM slot B broken?

Due to the poor system performance 256 MB of RAM to put in with the the laptop 128 MB, I bought came with. When I opened the hood to the RAM slots I realized that the two slots were already in use. I got my brother's cell phone and he told me that he had bought 256 MB, a few years back and he says they worked and the laptop ran with 384 MB.

The laptop has an A slot and a slot B. When I put all 3 Rams (128,256,256) into A slot they are recognized by the BIOS and notebooks works very well. However, if I put one of them in the slot B I turn on the laptop and noting happens, I can´t even not to enter the BIOS.

When I put 2x256MB (A and B) the laptop only works with 256 MB. So I guess the slot B is somehow broken? This hypothesis is correct? How do I go about solving this problem?

Thank you for a ton for all the comments / responses

    Hello

Yes it looks like there is a faulty RAM slot. This doesn't happen often, but sometimes I read about sound.
There is no way to fix it. The only way I know is to exchange the complete motherboard. Maybe you can get a second hand motherboard from eBay.

    Good luck!

  • [DV6-3140SL] Problem in my laptop after upgrading RAM

    Hi all,

I want to upgrade the memory of my laptop HP DV6-3140SL model.

Original RAM installed is a Micron 16JSF51264HZ-1G4D1, size 4GB.

    Then I bought 2 modules of the model Corsair CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9 (4 GB x 2 = 8 GB total)

    but when I installed this 2 cylinders in my notebook, start windows crashes;

Sometimes I see Loading icon of progress, but immediately laptop restarts.

BIOS recognizes correctly 8 GB and memory (the utility in the BIOS) test is OK.

CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9 should has the same features as the original model of 16JSF51264HZ-1G4D1:

    SODIMM DDR3 PC3-10600 (1333 Mhz)

What could be the problem? Incompatibility? Or faulty RAM memory?

Note: NA is 8 64-bit Windows (W8 is an upgrade to Windows 7 original)

    Thank you for the support.

You must use the Configurator of Corsair compatibility on their Web site.

See if you can return the modules. The modules seen in the image below are the only guaranteed compatible modules by Corsair. Unfortunately, they are not modules of 4 GB compatible to your laptop.

Memory of Kingston, on the other hand, is it guaranteed compatible 2 GB and 4 GB modules of memory for your laptop. With Kingston, bars of memory, you can upgrade to 8 GB and do work correctly the first time you start it back up after the upgrade.

  • Cannot increase the RAM in end-15 27 "iMac, retina

    This question drove me crazy.

End of last year, I bought an iMac 27 "new retina (17.1 model) with 16 GB of RAM of factory. I have since decided to upgrade to 32 GB myself - but apparently not.

I tried both levels of separate module of Crucial (both sticks 2x8GB, configured by using memory widget Crucial own the latter, so I think it was the 'right' RAM). Both times, after the installation, my iMac would not start. I get the kernel panic, then reboot after reboot goes no further than the Apple logo.

Conjecturing that it must be a problem with Crucial RAM, I ordered two modules from OWC. This time, I realized an online chat with a Counsellor OWC just to make sure that the triple, I was getting the right modules.

Result: same kernel panics, same inability to start. After you have uninstalled the aftermarket RAM my iMac works fine.

And, Yes, I want to install RAM correctly (I did several times with previous computers that are much more difficult to upgrade). I also tried the papillotes in different slots (lots of combinations), switch reset PRAM, etc. etc. Nothing works.

I wonder... all the stories of 'success' on Amazon and Crucial and OWC come people who completely REPLACE their factory in RAM with spare sticks? Seriously, I think that the issue is an incompatibility with the aftermarket RAM and the factory stuff. On the other hand, I am reluctant to throw 16 GB of perfectly good 'Apple' RAM just to open the four slots for 32 GB OWC.

I know that Crucial has been (or is still) a provider of RAM to Apple, so this is really surprising.

It is interesting to try to pick up sticks 'factory' (which will be costly, of course)? I believe that my 'Apple' RAM made by Samsung. Is there a reliable source for this?

Or I'm doing something completely wrong? (Can't imagine what it would be. I've even been through a chat tech with OWC has nothing to help).

In fact, I wonder if I now won't be able to max out my RAM (assuming I decide to eBay my Apple sticks and just go all new).

Difficult for me to believe that the iMac is that picky about RAM...

    Thanks for the ideas.

I do not have a 2015 end iMac, so I don't know if the problem which arose with iMac 2010 might be similar; before connecting a couple of these very long old threads, most of the problems was: the iMac 27 "would go happily with factory all the RAM, or with less of a mix of OEM and third party RAM (12 GB) max, but would have problems with 16 GB of third party RAM maxed out. I used to have a such 2010 and stayed with a total of 12 GB of RAM (OEM 4 GB and 8 GB of RAM from OWC) worked well.

    Problem with 16 GB on 2010 iMac 27 "i5 & i7.

    I7 memory issues new iMac 27 "2010

Other than the usual suspects such as faulty RAM, RAM slot, or not seated correctly, if you have time, you might want to try to install unless the maximum - it is a shot in the dark, but...

  • Satellite L35 - crashes with 2 GB of ram installed.

A back of months I posted with [problems about upgrading ram | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=33029]. Eldorado was great with helping me, I appreciate it.

I couldn't find another 1 GB which was exactly the same as the 1 GB that had been installed a few months back. So I just got 2 new sound. I installed one about 3 weeks ago, the computer works great since (1 GB OCZ + 512 MB Stock). I installed the 1 GB 2nd Sunday and I'm back to having problems. (just to clarify, they are the same exact brand, speed, model, I bought them a week and a half hand because of the discount that was on them).

After installation of the memory so that I got 2 x 1 GB in the computer, it starts fine, but then we try to play a game and it crashes, one of the highlights being BSODS, that time it was a black screen. We tried with 2 different games, counter-strike source, and an old not very intensive game called painkiller.
I don't know where to go from here, the memory is this - 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 PC2-5400 200 PINS OCZ - CL 5-5-5-15
I try to research as much as I can before you post, and the only conclusion I can come to is that it is because she is at 667 MHz.
The two sticks were the previous 1 gb 667, but they both installed at the same time, stock stick either, if I remember correctly, 533 MHz.

    Thank you guys

I had a similar problem of memory on my laptop to 7 years.
I've updated with modules of 2 x 512 MB of RAM, and after a short period a BSOD appeared.

I thought that it s a faulty RAM or a compatibility issue and so I bought a second modules. It was exactly the same. But the BSOD appeared again.
Finally, I tested the two memory slots using the modules unique and found out that the BSOD appears only with a second location of memory in connection to high temperature.

Simply said the high internal temperature hit my second memory slot, and this led to a BSOD. Now I can use only one memory slot.

I don t think that your second slot memory may be defective due to the fact that you have already used the module 512 MB in the second block memory. in my opinion, the question must be linked to the new module installed memory either TI s really a compatibility issue or the second module is malfunctioning.

Please help me solve the very question that the bios screen slows the blue green screen is a software or a hardware problen or is it all possible means tried ram problem

    karthik2949

If the PC worked OK with the old RAM and you give only a screen green with the new RAM, as banhien suggested, it is more likely incompatible RAM, or maybe faulty RAM.

What you need to do, is remove all the RAM in the computer and then restart with one stick at a time, this will tell you what stick is faulty.

IF the PC starts ONLY with either the old or the new RAM, then the new RAM RAM is incompatible with the old RAM and you can not use them together.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.
