I am using windows 7 on my laptop (not a touchscreen)... Today morning, I turned on my laptop and I saw from my speakers muted. What could possibly be the reason?
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you.
According to the description issue your speaker get cut automatically and you noticed that after having turned on the laptop. There might be a chance that, then closing the laptop is based on speaker (if not available) due to what speaker button get muted.
I would like to confirm things before troubleshooting.
- Are you able to activate the sound or not?
- You experience this problem on a regular basis or is it the first time?
- Did recent changes (hardware or software) on your computer?
If you are unable to activate the sound, try to follow the steps below and see if it helps.
First of all, I suggest you try to use the Audio playback problems troubleshooting to solve the problem.

Laptop quick launch mute my computer Pavilion dv6-1050us button does not work properly. He puts the speakers muted, but does not change color. It's still orange, not mater if your speakers are on or off. His other (white) State works because it is white to start windows, but then goes to orange and does not change when selected but by selecting the button speaker turn the speakers on and outside as it should.
I've loaded and reinstalled the quick launch driver software (sp46731.exe), but the problem is still there. The problem is about 2 weeks old. Have not added any new software that I know. But computer installs updates as received.Simon
First download the audio driver by using the links below and save the installer to your desktop.
Once the download is complete, right-click on the Setup program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation - ignore the warnings that you can see everything that is an earlier version. Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

Hello everyone. This is my first post on this forum.
I have a Pavilion dv7. Since the beginning (Vista) the QL Mute button wouldn't change to orange when the speakers muted. I've upgraded to Windows 7 and it still doesn't work. At one point HP automatically suggested an update of a certain type. Installed and the button worked. My hard drive crashed and I just installed a new updated one, day of Vista to W7 once again, done all updates offered.
But the same problem is back!
Does anyone know what I need to update to make it work?
Thanks DP - K,.
I solved it by installing ' HP full support ", ran the" Tune up"and by installing recommended drivers." The problem has been fixed, but there was no mention of the QLB' in one of the names of driver updated!
Sorry, I don't have to try your solution, I'm sure this would have worked too.
Thanks again for your response.
What is the cause?
My Lenovo Thinkpad X220T making sounds very strange, treble when Skype starts - even if I cut the speakers. The model of the sound is always the same, indicating that Skype should do whenever he starts.
This video was filmed with a Samsung Galaxy S, and you may need headphones/good speakers to hear the sound. Despite a lot of noise (fan of the computer), there is no other loud sounds to break your hearing with - then turn up the volume.
Very likely groan of CPU. Workaround is to disable CPU power management, which significantly increases the consumption and production of heat.
When I plug in my Hi-Fi cable to the line out of the speakers still continue to play the sound.
How can I set the speakers muted but still have sound that crosses the line of connection?
Default setting is when you connect the headphones or external speakers using audio output as speaker port will be switched off automatically. So I'm really confused why this doesn t work with your laptop. Maybe you have changed some settings.
In any case, check read settings in the properties of sound and all thet settings Audio Manager, you can find in the Panel.
My kaptop is an Asus G53sx running windows 7 premium 64-bit. It has a generic realtek built into the sound card with the latest drivers.
Currently, no sound from my speakers if no headset is plugged into the headphone jack. However, audio comes from the speakers and the headphones if headphones are connected. In addition, audio workstation inhibition translates the speakers muted, but the headset remains reactivated.
Things I've tried:
Disable/re-enabling sound devices.
Play with audio devices by default.
Play with sound priority application settings.
Reinstall the drivers.
Uninstalling the drivers, let windows install generic drivers, reinstall the drivers.
Resettlement of former drivers from the manufacturer of the disk.
Using the generic windows drivers.
All these have resulted in the same symptoms; No sound when no helmet, not his from the two devices when Yes headphones.
I see from the description of the model, he has Creative EAX supported sound card and not from Realtek. If you have installed the Realtek drivers, there may be problems of work. Make sure you install the correct driver, reboot the PC and then check.
I recently bought a HP Pavilion DV7t-2000 and it came with windows vista edition Home premium and I've upgraded to Windows 7 ultimate and now I can't get the touch buttons to work over my speakers, muting work and made the wireless button but the volume to turn upwards or downwards does not work or play , rewind or on the fast track.
Another problem that I have my fingerprint reader does not work, I went to install the driver from hp.com but him reader is saying that it is not installed or not detected, what can I do on these two problems? Thanks for the tips it's frustrating!
You can download the launch bar quick button software compatible with Windows 7 from the following link:
These are the buttons on the top of the keyboard...
However, in order to help others, I need product number to suggest the proper drivers.
I have 10 computers Windows and I got DC Acrobat from Adobe reader, where I used the read aloud feature much. He worked for a long time until that one day all of a sudden it stopped working. I can set the read-aloud, then click on play and it acts as if it will work, but I can't hear anything. I tried everything I know. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it, I even installed an older version to see if this is the problem and nothing works. Y at - it an update that happened to one of the adobe or my computer that would cause the reading loud feature to stop or what could be the problem, please help!
I corrected I updated the Trust Manager and I have also disabled allow increased security and it started working again.
I made sure it wasn't a mistake of the user as speakers muted.
Nevertheless, it works now and I'm happy.
Sent from my Verizon, the Samsung Galaxy smartphone
I have a desktop HP win7. Somehow its got cut.
When I clicked on the arrow 'up' (end of the right side of the taskbar) to display the icons hidden, & then click on 'Customize' I had (among other things) "Volume: speakers muted." This is the "Notification area icons" screen & doesn't seem to be the place to turn the speakers. How/where can I activate them?
Try the following.
Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar, and then select Properties. By the 'Area of Notification' section click the Customize button. In the next window, scroll down until you find the Volume icon in the drop-down list beside him box, select "Show icon and Notifications" and then click on OK at the bottom of the window. You should now see the Volume icon showing on the right side of your taskbar - left click once to display the cursor (Blender) and then click on the the speaker icon with the red X (just below the current cursor) and it should turn back on.

The built-in speakers put muted when headphones are connected.
I had the same problem recently with the urge of 23 I use at work, so I plugged the headphones in the speaker to the back of the computer. The music now plays only through the headphones.
When the computer is seen from behind, the speaker on your desire output jack is probably close to the lower right. It looks like your headphone output, but it has a small icon that looks a bit like this:
In addition, a member of the forum named emmarose has had the same problem; That's how she solved: "the problem was solved when I deleted and reloaded the sound driver," she wrote.
Is there a setting to allow an appellant to be heard through the car speakers all do not cut the microphone?
The reason why I ask is when I connect the Photon to the vehicle navigation anchor defaults the calls to speaker (not the speakers of the vehicle) and if I turn the speaker calling can be heard through the speakers of the car, BUT the caller can't hear me.
I hope that there is a simple parameter / fix!
The update OTA (45.3.6.MB855. Sprint.en.US) I received yesterday fixed the problem with the microphone. The MIC is muted is no longer just by listening to the appellant through the car speakers and I think that it fixes some problems of Bluetooth, I had as well.
I tried to play audio of my microphone in my speakers, it works for a while, but after a while the microphone muffles just itself.
The microphone is 2 - multichannel USB Audio Device, and the default communications device, under the Properties tab to listen to I checked listen them this peripheral area. Playback through speakers, an audio multi-channel 2 - USB and is my default device. Tab properties of listening to the speakers, I adjusted the volume control and microphone levels of balances, but it will be random intervals the microphone mute. It's usually after a minute or so of use, but it happened as short as 5 seconds and as long as approximately 6 minutes after without inhibition.
I don't see any other way the microphone can be muted and had this problem when I started reading through the speakers.
You need software to process the audio comeing in the PC. Most
software micro Windows is limited to a few minutes... Try windows
I tried after an option provided in other post but does not solve my problem in windows 10
Try the following steps to see if they solve your problem.
1 right-click on the icon sound in playback devices select system tray
2. click on speakers (no helmet) so no default device makes your default device
3. click on the recording tab
4. click on mix stereo click right properties
5. go to the listening tab
6 playback through this device make sure that your headset is not selected
7. repeat the process for your headphones by ensuring that the reading is not through speakers so
Thanks for the reply with more details. It is similar in appearance to me that help me in another forum. But all the measures I mentioned it solve my problem and now I don't see any problem between audio switching between the built-in speaker or headphones.
This morning my Satellite Pro C50-A-1E4 suddenly stopped, put Mute speakers when headphones are inserted. Previous messages solved this through a Realtek Control Panel that is not on my particular system.
Hoping that the fix is easier just cannot find where to put the right parameters.
Usually when you connect earphones in sound properties > speakers of reading should be turned off and headphones must be listed as active.
Just plug in the headphones and try to change these settings manually. Does not work properly when you do this?
I have satelite M100 PSMAAA-02006 with XP. I just updated the Bios on V3.0. Speakers do not work after update but the audio jack works so with headphones I can listen to but not through Laptop speakers and the keys to media on top of keyboard play, pause, stop, next, back, etc. homepage react too much.
Someone knows the solution to this issue. Or is it possible to get the old BIOS? Although I not sure aboutt previous version.
need quick help. Please answer as soon as possible.
Thanks & best regards...
I doubt that this was due the update of the BIOS. Is that what you have loaded default settings after updating the BIOS?
Have you chosen the correct BIOS update?
Normally you can hear the sound on the speakers laptop if you disconnect the headset. Make sure that the sound is not muted, you can do this with the FN + ESC key combination.
