Speakers XPS 1340 sTudio does not

Hi all,

I have a Studio xps 1340 laptop and initially was runing Vista 64 bit so I decided to switch to windows 7 64 bit and the problem started.

Laptop internal speaker stopped working. Before 3.5 mm port works if I connect speaker/headphone to it. I spent more than 6 hrs will of dell support and transfer to all kinds of different departments and even paid for out of warranty, but they DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. My speakers still don't work!

I tried all the drivers online but still nothing (R226903 and R214419) I tried to roll back the driver, all diagnostic tests were made.

Maybe I have drivers installed in the wrong order? is the driver of creative laboratory of good?

Please help and let me know what I can do to solve this problem.

It would have been good if you had listed the exact diagnostic tests and the test results - success or failure.

The order of installation with Windows 7 is not as important as it was in XP and Vista, at least for audio driver. And the fact that you have audio through the headphone jack means that the pilot did settle.

The application of Creative Labs audio enhancement software which, in itself, is not an audio driver for your laptop system. And it's a place where the order of installation is important. Software installation Creative before the audio driver can sometimes kill the audio completely, but the fact that you have audio through the headphone jack means which is not the case.

Here's my advice. First remove all files in the IDT pilot. Open Device Manager (type devmgmt.msc in the start search box and press ENTER) and expand ' audio, video and game controllers ".

Right-click on "IDT High Definition Audio Codec" to open the context menu, and then select uninstall. Put a checkmark in the option to delete files, click ok. Restart and return to the Device Manager and check for another driver IDT (whenever you delete one, Windows will install following the older that you downloaded and unzipped to the folder of driver dell).

Keep the uninstall & reboot until IDT no longer appears under controllers of noise and "High Definition Audio Device" appears in its place. Who will be the native Windows audio driver. Test the audio with the native driver. If it does not always come through the speakers then it is probably a hardware failure.

If no audio through the speakers with the native driver, run the PSA test if you already did. If you perform the test of ePSA look for the button "quick audio". If your version does not have the button, or if you have the initial PSA tests, follow the instructions to fail the color bar test. (The tests come with BIOS, so if you have followed the previous tips to update your BIOS revision you will have the most recent PSA or ePSA available for your model.)

If no sound to speakers during the test then the hardware failure is in the speakers or the speaker connections.

If you hear beeps or tones of the test then the question is probably in the impedance sensor in one of the headphone jacks - he is falsely detect a plug into the socket and cutting audio to the speakers.

    Looks like you have the default printer configured to be Microsoft XPS Document Writer.  Go to control panel > printers and devices and see which printer is enabled in a green circle.  If this is the XPS Document writer as I suspect, you can right click on your printer and then select "Set as default printer" after you do this, or if you cannot do this, answer with the brand and model of your printer and we are able to help if you have a driver problem.

  • Speakers XPS 9000: Internal or not?

    I recently set up my new XPS 9000.  I bought a dell with speakers monitor which is connected to the Tower via HDMI.  I tried to turn on the internal speakers, rather than using the monitor, but am not able to.  I went to the sound settings and see the "speakers/headphones" option listed as a playback device, but the activate option is grayed out when I right-click.  I can turn off the monitor as a reading device, but cannot activate the default speakers.  I wonder if this machine doesn't just have internal speakers?  Someone else have this machine and is able to hear playback through internal speakers?

    There are no internal speakers on the Studio XPS 9000 Tower.  You will have to use headphones or monitor speakers to get all the sounds outside a beep.

  • Impression on XPS Document Writer does not record anything

    When I try to print in XPS Document Writer, nothing is saved.  The dialog box appears asking you where I want to save it.  I select the folder, type a name and save it, but nothing is written.  There is no error message or anything. It is enough to save.  I tried several different applications (Firefox, IE, Word, Wordpad), but this does not seem to matter.

    One note, however, is that I can successfully print/save a test page to the printer (which makes it even more strange) properties.

    I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    After seeing your post, I decided to revisit this issue.  Apparently I've solved it.  My problem was that the files I tried to save to have full control to administrators, but not by my user explicitly.  To test this, I ran Firefox as an administrator, and I was able to save/print the XPS document.  This obviously isn't the most secure solution, so I just added my name explicitly under the Security tab for my home folder and propagate the changes down.  It seems that I can now save without problem (and run it as an administrator).

    It's not really make sense to me, since I belonged to the admin group.  It seems that the Windows UAC at least inspire you or something.  In any case, it's working for me now.  Hope that helps you.

  • 2013 redistributable Visual Studio does not install correctly

    After you install our program on a computer laptop users and attempt to run the application, we see this error message:

    "The procedure entry point? Bios_base@STD@@QBE_NXZ is not found in the MSVCP120.dll dynamic link library. "

    For the record:

    1. Our Installer includes the Redistributable 2013 package.
    2. The redistributable package has been executed and reported success
    3. The redistributable was for the good (vcredist_x86.exe) target for the Win32 application.
    4. A run the stand-alone redistributable package it reported success, but the same error message is displayed when you attempt to run the application.

    The corrective action that actually worked was:

    • delete MSVCP120.dll delinquency
    • run the uninstall of the redistributable
    • Re - install the redistributable

    The application worked.

    Now for the questions.

    1. What happened to install it? I seems to work but does not work.
    2. What should I change to ensure that it works for all customers?

    The question could arise if the redistributable is not installed correctly or corrupted package installed. If you get the number again, you can follow the steps provided below:

    Method 1:

    a. click Start, right-click computerand then click Properties.

    b. in the name computer, domain, and workgroup settings , click change settings.

    (If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click continue.)

    c. click change settings , and then select the Advanced tab click the environment variables button.

    d. the user variables area, click on TEMPand then click change.

    e. in the Variable value box, type C:\Temp, and then click OK twice.

    f. click applyand then click OK.

    g. follow steps 4 to 6 for the variable of environment TMP as well.

    h. confirm this folder C:\Temp exist, otherwise create a.

    i. restart the computer.

    j. attempt to install the application again.

    If the steps do not help, try the next method.

    Method 2:

    If you are comfortable in changing some registry settings, then follow the steps provided below.

    1. Click Start and type run in start search box, and then press enter.
    2. Type regedit and click OK.

    4. Right-click on this registry entry, and then click Rename.
    5. Rename F942F94A19C0F79468FD2B85E5E8677B to -F942F94A19C0F79468FD2B85E5E8677B.
    6. Close the registry editor.
    7. Restart the computer.
    8. Check if you are able to install the application.

    If the method does not resolve the problem, continue to the next method.

    Method 3:

    You can also reinstall Visual C++ Library Runtime components to solve the problem.

    You can uninstall all existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package 2013 and check if it helps.

    Step 1: To uninstall the package:

    1. Open programs and features, click Start > Control Panel >programs and features.
    2. In the list, find the Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ and click on it.
    3. Right-click on it and select Uninstall.
    4. Restart the computer.

    Step 2: Download and install the package and see if it helps.

    My BIOS version is the most recent: A19 (26/10/2012), I tried to load the BIOS default settings, but no change.

    The SATA in the BIOS mode is AHCI.

    Hi Kris,

    Traction test drive 1 and put the SSD in this slot. Then boot in the BIOS to see if the drive is detected.

  • Alienware M17xR4 speakers and the headphones does not

    Once I plugged headphones Apple (like those that come with iPhones) on the plug headset no longer works. Even after that I reconnected the headphones into the Jack, the headphones or the speakers do not work. I tried different headphones as well, but they don't always work.

    When I went in the sound control panel (windows 7) I see the "speakers" and "digital output" of Sound Blaster Recon3di. When I try to play some sounds he plays through the 'digital output' and not the speakers.     I am the owner of this laptop (M17x R4) and learned that there was some defect fundamental with the motherboard drivers and bios / Setup.

    I had my motherboard and charge cable and speakers replaced several times now with Dell and the problem comes back.

    Either the sound does not work (speakers / headphones etc.) or the cable from the charger (AC adapter) is not recognized as a valid cable and thus is will not charge the laptop.

    I wanted to share something that works 100% of the time for me now to solve this problem. Unfortunately, I consider that this defective equipment by Dell, but they do not recognize this.

    Keep the drivers card mother Bios A12 handy that Dell has for download on this model. At any time, this problem occurs, reinstall the drivers from the A12. When the computer reboots, the problem disappeared... at least for a while.  Give it a few days or a few weeks, but he'll be back.  When this is the case, re - install the A12 drivers... problems go back... temporarily.

    Something is corrupting the drivers or the MOBO config or something...

    Just re-installed A12 because there on the 15th time and boop, my speakers again, works as expected. This laptop price shouldn't have these horrible problems.

    I really hope that Dell realizes that inaction in the face of this root cause of the problem, will result in the loss of brand loyalty to their customers.

  • XPS 8700 Bluetooth does not

    I have a XPS 8700 bought in October and running Windows 7.  I have problems bluetooth works properly.  I downloaded and installed the latest driver, but when you look at Dell 1703 Bluetooth Wireless in the Device Manager, it has an error under device status of "this device cannot start. (Code 10) "I tried a few times to uninstall the driver, reboot, reinstall nothing doesn't.

    Any idea what I can do to get this working?

    Craig, you have to have, like me, received among the some 280 8700 XPS who left the factory without having drivers Bluetooth wireless Dell 1703 published... so your BT will not BT 4.0 update and so does not work. Go to Dell Support live chat and let guys try to solve your problem remotely, which they will not be able to do. When they did their thing, tell them you want a technician on-site, assuming you are still under warranty, to come to your home and install a half Mini Card Intell 6235 WLAN BT in the former location of 1703... install the two updates of 6235 Dell driver support and you will have a flawless Bluetooth program. No guarantee? Get a card for $25-30 6235 and install it your self takes about 20 minutes.

  • Dell XPS One 2710 does not start - should I all reasonable options?

    A few weeks ago, my 18 - month, Dell XPS One 2710 has started to act up.  Still not start correctly.

    Ran the Dell diagnostics on their Web site.  Everything was fine - no detected hardware problem.

    Yesterday, the computer completely stopped working.  It would be start, after a sweep of drive long, finally on the desktop, but can hang after 10 minutes.  I'm on Windows 8 (not 8.1).

    Today, I thought I would do a system restore to a point a month ago.   But today I can not get a startup complete, impossible to get on the desktop.  Therefore, can't do a system restore.  Instead, I see this screen.

    I have the options to continue?   I don't have a recovery disk.

    You can install 8.1 on top of what you have by a 16 GB or more usb flash drive as a bootable recovery media.

    If it does not recognize the key to your Bios, you can use a generic key for install but not activate.

    All the pre installed 8.x are 64-bit so make sure you download the correct version.

  • Dell XPS 13 (L322X) does not recognize Dell U2713HM

    Trying to connect my new laptop / monitor - but my toys will not play with me. Have connected each via supplied usb cables (most mini dp - DVI adapter + dvi cable). Received the error on usb install re failure / unknown device? When running Dell display manager error I get following:
    «This program requires a Dell monitor and driver support compatible display.»  If you think that your system meets these requirements, try power cycling the monitor and/or update the display driver. »
    I downloaded the drivers from the dell site, but when run Setup it does not recognize the monitor and thus used to install drivers
    -little a catch 22?  do I need or there at - there a way to force the installation of the driver? Assumed that these devices are compatible and if yes, can I someone help me?

    It seems that the problem is with your "mini dp - DVI adapter + dvi cable. Try a direct connection, without maps, and you should be all set.

    (Install the drivers manually is possible, but won't help here.)

  • XPS M1530 Audio does not...

    I use XPS M1530 with MS Windows Vista. I can not get any output audio-card. Volume-> Sound-> speakers (I use the Italian Vista version, it is "Volume->-> Altoparlanti Suoni") if I do 'Audio Test' I get an error with "can't play test sound" (Impossibile riprodurre suono di prova). I uninstall and reinstall the SigmaTel drivers, but nothing changes. I also try to install the latest SigmaTel drivivers (also XP drivers with compatibility mode) but I get the same error.

    I checked Windows for ' audio ' services and 'Point Audio Service endpoint'. They are ok: starts automatically.

    I start my PC using Linux (UbuntuLive 7.10) and my sound card works, I can hear all the sounds.

    How to restore my aoudio in Windows Vista? What can I do?

    Re-install it would be my advice.  Maybe uninstalling 'Card Factory 8' deleted something he should not have.

    Because I'm not sure of exact applications you speak of (there are to many 'card Studios' there)-that's the best advice general I can think to give.  Out of its media and install it over again and again, download patches, you need for it, etc..

    I have a Dell XPS 15 bought L501 end 2010. Still in great shape & very little used. It was running OK, maybe a little hot when it comes to leave. When I plug in the kernel of the slight external battery power and inside battery indicator on the dashboard light up, but the two turns off when I press the power button. The blue light on the power cord.

    Not exchanged the motherboard and processor with used ones I bought online - no change. Returned to original & delivered parts to the seller.

    Replace the power supply with new - no change.

  • CD/DVD in new XPS 630 players does not properly

    I'm swapping this XPS Forum I might have better luck here. :)

    Yesterday I received my new 630 and after installing all the updates of windows that I then tried to install software.  I have two drives and neither player would be autorun of the CD.  I said to the autorun in Windows Media Player when a CD is inserted and that works, but neither player will be autorun any software CD.  Then, I clicked on the drive (s) in my computer, where it shows that the discs are recognized and tempted to manually start the installation programs.  When I run the files setup.exe for programs either nothing happens or the Welcome screen appears but nothing happens when I click on the buttons of the installation.  I was able to get a couple of programs to install, like Civ IV and Sim City 4, but will not install games more former and other programs such as Adobe Acrobat Pro and Photoshop Elements, which ran on several other PCs, used to install.  The main reason I ordered this system was so I could have a new rig with XP and not Vista compatibility issues.

    I have downloaded and run a Windows utility that is supposed to solve the problems of the autorun.  The program has determined that there is a problem with both drives, but that the problem could not be fixed.

    Edited to add: I'm more concerned not be able to install the programs that I am on the problem of the autorun.

    Any help would be appreciated.
