It saved me forking out good money for buying again the likes of office etc because I had lost the key of product from the purchase.

• Satellite P850-12Z: keys FN No. after upgrade to Windows 8

  Seems that the function keys, to control the volumen, the wireless and bluetooth switch, touch on/off voltage and so on seem to not work in Windows 8.

  I have installed new drivers, used the upgrade Toshiba utiliity but seems not work.

  Does anyone knoe how to solve this problem?
  It's quite annoying that, now, I can't control devices with the F keys.

  I have a problem since I factoryresetted my HP DV6-1240eo. It's original is Windows Vista, so first I installed as first of the factory (after the factory reset) and then used the HP disks for a Windows 7 upgrade.

  Everything I did to get rid of a bunch of * beep * which makes the computer slower.

  At the moment I can't use these buttons that I took a photo of (the volume bar and mute button, on the left. Symbol wireless works), because I don't really know what they are called or how I managed to get them back to work with Windows 7. They worked before the factory reset, so it's a complete mystery, why they do not work now.

  When I bought my Acer Aspire E1 - 510P it came with windows 8 pre installed and there is no CD-ROM/dvd-rom in this laptop. Well, I installed Win 10 and it has messed up the windows 8 recovery drive, it installs the win10 whenever you get back so I lost my windows 8. Is not a big problem because I like window 10 now my problem is the windows 10 is to be free with the first year of sales, but because I don't have my pre installed win 8 that everything would be more I still get the 10 free victory.   The only way to get the rear windows 8 is buying for $50.00 acer recovery media, that I won't buy unless I absolutely have to.

  So I still would be able to get the win 10 free?

  (1) the instructions about test Windows preview 10 said he would remove your ability to restore to the factory. Please ensure that you read the instructions more carefully.

  (2) you don't need to buy recovery for Windows 8 to Asus.  This would have all your drivers, but you can also just get the Microsoft recovery files directly, then go get the drivers from the Asus site.  This way you can make a free complete restoration.

  Uninstall, reboot and reinstall the VMware Tools normally solve this type of problem.

  Tip: Take a snapshot before uninstalling so that you have a known state to return.
