Specified sample rate clock works do not

I hope that I was right to post on this forum. I have a problem that I had not previously in the acquisition of data on a chassis 9172 cDAQ using a 9234 for 2 analog inputs and a 9219 for four thermocouple inputs. The 9219 is obviously not ideal as it has a rate relatively low sample (and I have a 9213 on the way), so I'll have to use to HAVE. ADCTimingMode to isolate channels on this module for "high speed" mode if I can get an adequate sampling for my load. The question that arises is that no matter what I do to specify a sample rate, the actual sampling rate ends up being 1651,61 Hz, higher than the features of the 9219, if I get an error. I tried to use the DAQmx property node to set the calendar and the clock sampling VI but neither work. The only source that I can choose is on board, but when I check the source used is cDAQ1Mod1/AI/SampleClock, even if I get an error when I try to provide as a source of sample VI clock.

As it is, my VI runs despite this error and seems to produce accurate data, but the original problem is with long testing I will have unnecessarily large data sets unless I start to decimate my other data, and the secondary problem, it's that I can't get the program to run when I try to incorporate my task of counter. In this case, the error ends the execution and he acquires no data.

I have attached my VI under the task of counter (I'm on 8.5 and have the coming upgrade as well), but also an image of a simplified version of the VI only try to specify the settings of a channel of AI. I get the same result with it. I'm a bit of a loss here because I've never had this problem before, and it seems that there is something beyond rudimentary that I'm missing, so I would really appreciate any help anyone could provide. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks in advance.

    with minimum coding on the server side, you can detect the server time. and you can use flash to detect the local time of the user (assuming that their clock is set properly which is a big assumption).

    You can also use javascript to detect the time user, offset time zone using the js date object.

  • Buffer size different sampling rate.

    Hello

    I'm new to Labview and me has encountered a problem.

    I did some measurements using two Renault and continuous type used samples. One device was NI 9239 and this one has a sampling frequency possible other than the size of buffer that I put. I put the size of the buffer of 3000 and the rate of possible samples of the device were 2941 and 3125.

    From what I understand, this type (continuous type of samples) the size of the buffer is full and send it to the computer.

    My question is this: my device sample rate is 3000 or 3125?

    Why do you ask? You say that you know that a sampling rate of 3000 is not possible.

    Hello!

    I use DAQmx 9.8, win10 x 64, NI 6221 emulated Council, labview 2012 32 bits.

    I need to define the AO sample clock frequency, check the actual clock rate, calculation based on the new value of pulse rate and write it in the jury for the output. The code example is attached.

    Everything is ok, when I use the command as a timing (as people used to do) during the installation of the task, but when I am trying to set the clock frequency, then number of samples I get "error-50103 that is reserved for the specified resource. The operation could not be performed as indicated. The error occurs after DAQmx Write.vi. I tried to use two calendar controls or a combination of timing and order property node timing with the same result.

    Is that it has no idea how to solve this problem? Probably, there are some more convenient way to get real rates that I don't know.

    I him have not tested yet on real hardware, emulated alone on board.

    Finally, I dindn can't reveal the source of the prolem. It was certainly not related to the synchronisation screw. Just more simple configuration of analog output generated the same problem in this VI, but working without errors when copied to the new file.

    It takes a Windows setting and a setting of the hearing.

    You will need to go into your settings from Windows recording devices - if you see a speaker in the lower right of your screen, right-click on it and choose recording devices.  Find your audio input source, select Properties, go to advanced.  You should see a drop down menu with options for the quality and frequency of sampling, mono/stereo.  In general, you'll want to 44.1 kHz for audio; 48 Hz for the video.

    At the hearing, go to Edition/Preferences/Audio Hardware and select the same frequency of sampling for output.  I went through the same question a few months ago, and it worked for me.  Good luck!

    For example: if I enter the name of the channel "ONE" and "10" sampling frequency... and draw my program will be executed using previous information entered by the user. If I press the race a second time, then it will use the '10' sample rate and channel "ONE". Everyone can't see what I did wrong? I know that my code is absent, but she does everything that I need, except for the update.

  • Conflict to sample rate (specified real vs)

    I use NI 9234 to acquire my sensor data using labVIEW 8.6. I have been using labView for only the past two weeks, so please bear with me as my knowledge is so fundamental. I'm reading several channels over time. My problem is when I finished my VI, I discovered the whenever I change my bit in VI code rate, she even more fast (several sampling rate than what I said).

    I've never used a time base external with a data acquisition card, so it's a bit outside my field of knowledge. You may consult the manual to see if it's possible.

    Personally, I wouldn't bother. If you want a lower sampling rate 1,652 kHz, you could always decimating up to a lower rate. For example, if you enjoy at 1,652 kHz and then take each sample 16, you would then end up with an effective 103,25 Hz sampling rate.

    If you want to exactly 100 Hz you could make, because they suggest in the link and use the 'resample waveforms (continuous) .vi"to re - sample data.

  • Understand how to set up and use a sample FlexRIO clock

    Hello

    Following this discussion on inputs glitching, I learned that I need to use the area of the sampling clock to read nodes to HAVE it in my 5734 OR. So I right click 'FPGA Target'-> "New FPGA Base Clock" and selected "IO Module clock 0". In general, I followed the instructions at http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375653a.pdf

    Issues related to the:

    1. I noticed that, regardless of the value I put in "Compile single frequency", timed loops using this clock works at 120 MHz. Should it?

    2. I want to gain at 10 MHz, no 120 MHz. is there a way to create a clock derived from the sample clock? (Right click on the clock gives me not the option "New FPGA derived Clock")

    3. In the example of the FIDL, engine of CQI on 5734 SMU - 7962R.lvproj, 'IO Module 0 clock' is configured to be compiled to "100 MHz" instead of 120 MHz. is there a meaning behind this value? (# 1, I understand that the value is ignored)

    4. The code example below, I get "error-61046 occurred to read/write control" unless I have excluded the "Reset" of the VI host node. This problem does not occur if I use on-board 40 MHz clock instead of the clock of Module e/s 0, (although I'd get glitched data). Am I wrong configured something?

      1. In my current, more complex program, I get the same error even with disabled node, if I stop and restart the host VI - but the next attempt would succeed.

      2. I have attached the sample file project, the screw and bitfile, where they are useful.

    Hi FKSH,

    You are right that you must Access your e/s on the 5734 NOR in the area of sample clock:

    (this information is by using LabVIEW for the CLIP of 5734 OR)

    It is a clock Module e/s 0 or sample clock based on your version of the FlexRIO driver you have installed. Based on your statements, looks that you use LabVIEW 2014, so be sure to have FlexRIO 14.0 or FlexRIO installed 14.1. If you have FlexRIO 14.0 or earlier, the sample clock will be IO Module clock 0. If you have FlexRIO 14.1 or later, it will be the sample clock:

    (also of the documentation NOR 5734 CLIP in help)

    The only support for sampling rate is 120 MHz, unless you use an external clock CLK in and it must be between 50 and 120 MHz (see page 9 of the Manual). If you wish to purchase to 10 MHz, the best thing to do would be to sample the e/s to 120 MHz and then decimate the data by a factor of 12 (keep all 12 data points only and throw out the rest).

    Regarding the FIDL, I'm guessing that you're referring to the configuration in the properties of the clock:

    This configuration is not actually change the frequency of the clock. The compiler uses this value so that the logic can operate at the specified frequency, but the real clock is provided elsewhere (in this case, the FAM).

    Finally, I saw error-61046 occurs more often because of the configuration of the internal clock. Make sure you use the clock on the right as the only cycle timed loop source as I mentioned above. In general, I do not recommend write directly on a 120 MHz indicator, as there are a lot of other logic that needs to be done in order to update the indicator. The data are sent to a domain different clock under the hood, so you can actually update the data and I suspect that there are some conflicts with the clocks. You also lose data as the host won't be able to read all the data before it gets crushed. Instead, I would use DMA FIFOs if you need all the data you acquire or to send the data to a different loop which will be responsible for the update of the indicator in a slower clock domain.

    In general, I recommend always that the start-up of the examples in the Finder as a good place to check if the equipment works properly and as a reference for the correct configuration. Once you compile the code, you should be able to run it natively to acquire some data. "" "These examples will be under input and output hardware" FlexRIO "Modules e/s ' NI 573 X ' NI 5734.

  • DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming sampling rate for external sources

    I'm looking at the example of Synchronized_AIAO_Shared_Clock.c to http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/2352 .  This example creates a string of tension that HAVE streams at 10 kHz, and then creates a tension AO channel that is bound to the sample clock HAVE to synchronize channels.  I use this example to understand the use of DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming here.  This is the corresponding code (comments are mine):

    Create a channel of tension HAVE will work continuously at 10 kHz

    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateTask("",&taskHandleRead));

    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan(taskHandleRead,"Dev7/ai1","",DAQmx_Val_Cfg_Default,-10.0,10.0,DAQmx_Val_Volts,NULL));

    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming(taskHandleRead,"",10000.0,DAQmx_Val_Rising,DAQmx_Val_ContSamps,1000));

    Create a tension AO channel, and then attach the clock of the chain in tension of the AO for the sample clock HAVE
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateTask("",&taskHandleWrite));
    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateAOVoltageChan(taskHandleWrite,"Dev7/ao0","",-10.0,10.0,DAQmx_Val_Volts,NULL));

    DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming(taskHandleWrite,"ai/SampleClock",1000.0,DAQmx_Val_Rising,DAQmx_Val_ContSamps,1000));

    .. So what I'm trying to understand here is how to interpret (1000.0) sampling rate argument in the second call to DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming, where the canal AO is related to "AI/sampleClock.  It seems to me that this argument must be meaningless, other than perhaps to determine the size of the buffer, since by definition this AO channel will clock on a sample of every time that AI/SampleClock rises.  Then maybe someone can help me understand how this argument is used...

    But in all cases, the docs say "If you use an external source for the sample clock, set this value to the maximum expected rate of the clock."  In this case, the clock is set up a few lines earlier at 10 kHz, so is not this 'evil' in the second call to DAQmxCfgSampClkTiming, a sampling rate of 1 kHz is specified (much less than the maximum rate of sample expected)?  What is the consequence of this?

    Thank you!

    -Dan

    Hey Dan, some big questions you've got.

    You pretty much put the nail on the head with your guesses. The size of the buffer is based on the resolution of data acquisition in combination with the sampling frequency that you specify. Think of it as an implicit in the size of the buffer declaration (but it is certainly an explicitly define that, if you wish).

    As for your second question, which relates to new back to the size of the buffer, except that this time it is for the use of an external clock source. Given that the material has no implicit way to know the frequency of clock of this external source, it asks you to specify explicitly the maximum frequency so it can create a buffer of the right scale size.
