Specify the device during the scan over network (HP1212nf MFP)

Hello

We are a small business owner and newly installed 3 HP1212nf MFP printer on the network, all my clients PC have at least two printers installed as backup to another. All is well as far as printing is concerned, but I have a problem with scanning. There is no other choice, I could well to select the specific device when scanning the document. the HP software named "scan to" default is by scanning the 1st device installed on any PC. is it possible to select a specific device during the scan on the network?

OS: Win 7 and XP

Thank you in advance.

Hi Aquariens,

After test, I found that the scan to application doesn't have the ability to designate between same model printers. This is normal on this printer laserjet consumer software.

    Hi EdgeCS,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that you want to save the scan to a specific folder.

I'll be happy to help you.

I have provided a document for How to digitize.  This will allow you to create a location for your scans.

Select the following text in the document to select a backup location:

    • How to scan with the HP software.
    • How to scan a document or a general picture.
    • To change the advanced settings of scanning.
    • You can specify the location to send saved scans the computer.

I think that this will provide a solution to your problem. Thank you.

  • LaserJet professional M1217 nf: cannot scan over network with a printer laserjet 1217 on a Mac

    Hello

    My set up:

    Mac with Yosemite

    LaserJet M1217 more wireless

    Description of the problem:

I can't scan. Preview, the control panel or image capture, I get the same error saying "cannot open a session.

I have installed and reinstalled the drivers/printer about 100 times.

I tried to add the printer/scanner like airprint, or with the name of the printer as a proposed post.

Just what causes the same error.

I have the 2.0 version of the driver installed right now. Tried with 1.7, same result.

I can print without problem since my Mac and my iPad.

Tried it with an ethernet cable and have the same problem in case someone ask.

I looked all over google and doesn't seem like someone else has the same problem? Many people have problems printing over wireless, but it's ok for me. Is the scan, I can't go to work.

Pages of HP does not offer any other driver which has of the Yosemite. HP offers no additional program for Mac and scan.

Don't know what else to try.

    Little help? Anyone?

    Thanks Geminy02,

Unfortunately, your suggestions did not help, and I have a few comments about them.
First of all, your suggestion about the router was the problem is quite impossible, as you will need to check if the ports are open only in the case we're talking about two different network segments. If you have your printer and your computer in the same segment you will have problems of ports.
Second: if I would have chosen IP protocol to add my printer, I wouldn't take the option scan, as you said, which means I could not done any tests that I mentioned in my original post, and I would never have had to the point of getting the error message.
Thirdly: the drivers that you MENTION for download are exactly the same as you get with yosemite, so, this could help to reinstall the driver, it's kind of a long shot (and yes I tried).

In fact, I managed to solve my problem by doing a factory reset of the printer, any sign of a printer in my computer, cleaning and reinstall the printer using the airprint driver suggested by yosemite where to find my bounjur printer.

I tried ro think what could be the reason, or to see all what I had changed, and the only thing I've seen different in the configuration before and after he started to work was the name of the printer. When it did not work my printer was called simply "printer", when he was working he was the full name that comes by default. It would be very strange, that this is the reason, but I just mention it here just in case someone read. I believe that the factory reset was the difficulty, not the configuration itself.

Just for the other readers, I can confirm that this unit can print and scan over my wiresless and cable network on yosemite, with the help of preview, capture image or scan property in the control panel. It took me several hours to make it work, but it does, and my best friend was all the time the printers web page, where you can change the configuration of the printer.

  • Specify the network during the creation of the VM...

    Hello

My apologies in advance if this is a question well beaten, but I did some research on Google and not find the answer to this day...

I'm creating a number of virtual machines based on the opinions of a CSV file and want to specify the network that must be the new virtual machine. This command works...

    $vm = New-VM-Name $_. Name - model $_. Model-host $_. Home - Datastore $_. Data store - OSCustomizationSpec $_. CustomSpec-confirm: $true - RunAsync

But when I try to specify a network to attach to, with the addition of -NetworkName $_.Network I see the error...

New-VM: all parameters can be resolved by using the specified named parameters.

    C:\PowerCLI\deploy.ps1:18 char: 9

    + $vm = New-VM-Name $_. Name - NetworkName $.network-model _ $_. Temp...

    + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    + CategoryInfo: InvalidArgument: (:)) [new-VM], ParameterBindingException)

    + FullyQualifiedErrorId: AmbiguousParameterSet, VMware.VimAutomation.ViCore.Cmdlets.Commands.NewVM

If I create the virtual machine and then run the following command, the network is OK for the virtual machine.

    Get-NetworkAdapter $_. Name | Together-NetworkAdapter NetworkName-$_.Network - StartConnected: $true

I believe that it is not possible to specify - NetworkName when you also specify a customization specification.

How could I go on create virtual machine and the specification of its network in this scenario (and within the same VM creation script)? Is it possible to use PowerCLI to make the same changes as those available in hardware virtual machine (experimental) 'customize' user interface that allows the user to select a network during a deployment based on a model?

Thanks in advance and I hope you can help.

    Matt

The parameters of Model & OSCustomizationSpec and Networkname belong to different parametersets on the New-VM cmdlet.

You don't have them together on an invocation of New - VM.

As you have already discovered, you can make game-NetworkAdapter after the virtual machine has been created.

    New-VM-name $_. Name - model $_. Model-host $_. Home - Datastore $_. Data store.

    -OSCustomizationSpec $_. CustomSpec-confirm: $true |

    Get-NetworkAdapter | Together-NetworkAdapter NetworkName-$_.Network - StartConnected: $true

But the drawback here is that you cannot use the RunAsync switch on the New - VM cmdlet.

An alternative is to create virtual machines with switch RunAsync, wait until the virtual machines are created and the customization complete, before changing the portgroup.

There is a good method described on the PowerCLI blog waiting for the customization of the OS to complete

And Yes, you can create an OSCustomizationSpecs with PowerCLI, take a look at the New-OSCustomizationSpec cmdlet.

  • Specifying the NIC Public private network cards during the Installation of the grid

    Version: 11.2
    Operating system: Solaris

We will install the 11.2 grid.
These are IP addresses, we will allocate for the Public sector and private Interfaces
    bge0--->10.80.143.214 ---- for public network (Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 )

    bge1--->172.132.116.81 ----- for private Interconnect (Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 )
But, during the Installation of the grid, the grid Setup will ask only those IPs with the last byte 0 as shown below url
    bge0--->10.80.143.0 ---- for public network

    bge1--->172.132.116.0 ----- for private Interconnect
    http://4.BP.blogspot.com/_0ut-UEg1S3k/SqI3w1QgVLI/AAAAAAAAA1w/Zq6jwWWh_48/S1600-h/8.PNG

The installer actually displays the "subnet". But Public and private NIC of the subnet is 255.255.255.0
Is this really? Why the installer of the grid is not inviting the real IPs allocated to networks of Public and private?

    Hello
    Litte Note:

Why the installer of the grid is not inviting the real IPs allocated to networks of Public and private?

The cluster runs under Network (e.g. 10.80.143.0) under any one or two IP, because several IP addresses of the network in question can be used (it is about scalability and availability), you install a cluster it show the networks used, not used IP (this occurs in any system of cluster, you must specify the network).
    Kind regards

  • LasetJet Pro M475dn: Impossible to scan over the network after upgrade to El Capitan

After that I upgraded to El Capitan I no longer use HP Scan or HP Easy Scan to scan the network more. I can print to the printer, but analysis always results in the page being pulled by the document feeder, but applications just to lock-up without the document showing. Everything worked fine on Yosemite.

I found a workaround solution that once worked before after a update of Mac OS X (but had to change the name of file, much like the original file has disappeared). Just download the next file on HP (no matter that it is not for your printer; it's not mine either (OfficeJet Pro L7680) but it works).

    FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub//softlib/software12/COL51752/OJ-125213-3/HP-inkjet-SW-OSX-Mavericks_v12.34.37.dmg

Disable SIP for this installation and when you run the installation program (do not know if you need to do, but I did anyway). To do this, the instructions are here:

    https://forums.developer.Apple.com/thread/3981

When you run the Setup program, make sure you hold the CTRL key when you right-click on it, then click Open in the menu.

Run the Setup program. Be sure to select the HP scanning software and install it. When you get to the configuration of the printer, just skip this step (unless you are using the printer in question). The parser components are what you really want from the printer drivers are already in El Capitan, if you have a HP supported printer. The scanning software will have already installed to the moment you arrive at this screen.

Install the HP Easy Scan on the App Store app (if you get the latest version of the software your front-end). You should be able to run the scanner and scans without restart. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but certainly, it worked for me and keep me until they find what went wrong in El Capitan to disable scanning and scanning capabilities.

SIP turn on again so that your Mac is better protected. We should all work after that. After doing the above, I found that I was able to not only use the HP software, I was able to use Image Capture, preview, etc, to get images from the scanner. Your mileage may vary, but if all goes well it will work again for you all.

  • LaserJet MFP M177fw Pro: M177fw can scan over the network

    Hello

I would like to know if the printer permissions 'M177fw' to use the scanner to a pc connected via LAN. (based on analysis of the computer or send the scan from the printer to a network folder)

I found this information on the manual.

    Thank you

    Hey @mariwf,

Yes, if you have the printer connected to your wireless network, you can scan all the same that you would be using a USB connection. You don't have to use the built-in Web server, you can open and use the HP scanning software.
