Spectrum xt Touchsmart 4000th 15: laptop back to factory State: clean install Windows 10?

Tried to upgrade from 8.1 to win to win 10 via Windows Update and got BSOD/reboot cycle with error on page iastorav.sys. Envoy for HP laptop and it has been recreated to win 8.0 State of origin to the 2 years ago. The best way to proceed from here?  My main options appear to be:

1. download and install updates Windows 188. I don't like that it take ages and a large number of concurrent updates may cause problems (in my experience).

2. restore the System Image which I saved before you perform the upgrade to win 10 previously. I fear that this may make me just back from the problem that caused the failure in the first place.

3. update the drivers and do a clean 10 Windows Installer from USB. I think it would probably be the best option. I have all my old documents backed up elsewhere.

I am especially looking forward to having good drivers Intel rapid storage (iastorav.sys) and also the right drivers and Setup to start quickly in Intel technology.  My laptop has a hybrid SSD/HDD.

My key to win 8 is integrated on the motherboard. The new Windows 10 threshold Update will automatically validate on my HP laptop? This laptop only has not already been upgraded to Windows 10 (the upgrade failed).

I would appreciate your help to find good drivers and also advice on installation and activation Windows 10.

Thanks for your help!

Hi SDJL,
Thank you for taking the time to answer for me.
I was hoping to use the update in the fall for a simple installation and activation, but now MS are removed it their MCT.
I bit the bullet and started hp updated driver installation and updates of Windows to get to win 8.1.
It took 9 hours to 254 Windows updates for 8.21 Windows running. I installed the updates of the hp driver 9 such as recommended by hp support assistant. Unfortunately, the Intel driver fast storage SP63642 failed to install twice using the HPSA. What should I do? I'll try the direct download from the hp site. any other suggestions?
Thank you

can someone help me on how to put my laptop back to factory settings

    Hello

It would help if you told us your laptop brand and operating system.

This is general information on how to do it:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall using the recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery on the hard drive Partition reinstall back to how you bought your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

    See you soon.

I'm really sick of my 2008 Dell Inspiron being so slow, whenever I play minecraft... It is not intended to be a portable game, but that's all I have. I want to know how to put my computer laptop back to factory settings, like when you start it for the first time, straight out of the box. In addition, I did not drive when I bought over 5 years ago, do not judge me. Help please!

    Hello Andy.L.C

    No one will judge you.

Your PC must have a hidden partition which contains an image of the Windows operating system.

Take a look at this link (especially step 3 "restore the software from the computer to the original state")

HOW CAN I RESET MY LAPTOP BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS

    Hello

Judgment of the laptop.  Start typing away at f11 as soon as you press the power button to start the Recovery Manager that you can then use to reinstall the operating system.

Alternatively, if you have created a set of recovery disks, insert the first disc and restart the computer to start the process.

    Either way is fine.

But I don't know if it matters at this point.  My laptop does not recognize my hard drive, webcam, location of the backup file, scroll bar, does not allow me to run programs troubleshooting etc... the list is long. Hello

by HP, I hope you mean that Hewlett Packard is the manufacturer, because the manufacturers have different ways to do

If you don't have a recovery disc as it never came with it, press F11 at startup to start the process of recovery back to factory settings

all data will be wiped from the hard drive during the process

Here are the two ways to do:

Restore the PC to its original state with the HP Recovery Manager of in Windows Vista

If the PC can be started and opens on the Windows desktop, you can use the HP recovery disk to restore the PC to original factory State by following the steps below.
    1. Click Start and enter the recovery in the field of research. Select Recovery Manager in the list, when it becomes available. Allow the action to proceed, if you are prompted. The HP Recovery Manager opens.
Alternatively, click Start , all programs , Recovery Manager , and then Recovery Manager . Allow the action to proceed, if you are prompted. The HP Recovery Manager opens.
    2. Click Advanced options , System Recovery , and then click Next . The PC will restart and reopen the Recovery Manager.
Alternatively, if the advanced options is disabled, click Next , and then System Recovery . The PC will restart.
    3. When the PC restarts, select the System Recovery option and click Next .
    4. If you are prompted to use the Microsoft System Restore , click No and then click Next .
    5. When you are prompted, select back up your files first (recommended) , and then click Next . Follow the on-screen instructions.
    6. When you are prompted to recover without backing up your files , please STOP before you click Next .
CAUTION: It's the last chance to change your mind recovery PC and delete all the files and programs. Once you click Next , the restore process cannot be stopped
    7. If you are convinced that you want to start the recovery process, click Next . The PC immediately starts formatting the disk hard drive and destroy all data.
The recovery process may take up to several hours and will return the PC to its original state. All custom, settings drivers, software and upgrades or hardware updates are lost and must be reinstalled.
Restore the PC to its original state with the HP Recovery Manager if Windows Vista is not accessible

If the PC does not start under Windows, it may still be possible to use the HP recovery disk to restore the computer to its original state. The Recovery Manager can be started during the boot process by following the steps below.
    1. Press on the button / stop to start the PC and press the f11 key when the standard BIOS guests appear on the black screen.
NOTE:  By pressing the f11 key at startup on a computer with an image factory HP will start the system recovery process, even if the message is not displayed.
      • If the HP Recovery Manager can access the hard disk recovery partition, a prompt to back up user files before you start the recovery
    . Follow the instructions.
    • If the HP Recovery Manager cannot access the hard disk to resolve system errors, you need to use the recovery disk custom that you created to recover the hard disk to its original state.
    • If you have not created the custom recovery disk, or disks are damaged, you can order a replacement of HP recovery CD.

  • When the Recovery Manager starts, follow the instructions of recovery step by step , shown above.

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Reinstallation of microsoft office home and student 2010 once laptop back to factory settings

We will have our laptop sent through for repairs in which technicians will be restore to its factory settings.

I currently have a MS Office Home and Student 2010 installed & activated after the purchase of a product key and download & install the software. I've save a backup of the installation file and, of course, will ensure that I don't lose my product key.

I just want to ensure that I can reinstall MS Office in my laptop after that she is undergoing a complete restoration of the system. My license only allows me to install/activate MS Office on a single computer. I ask because I have no idea how the activation process will know that I am simply reinstall on the same computer or if a full restore of the system would make my laptop be "recognized" as another.

All the signs are pointing me to be able to do this. But I don't want to not ask. Please confirm that I have nothing to do except save my product key and the installation file.

    Thanks in advance.

As long as the repair does not have to replace the motherboard in the laptop, you should be able to reinstall the Office product without any problem.  Just ensure that your Win XP operating system is upgraded to SP3 before trying to install, as well as to remove any office trial programs that may have been resettled when the restoration was done.
  • Laptop computer shows BOOTMGR missing after running system back to factory State

I have a HP Pavilion Entertainment notebook model #dv7 cl 3163. First of all, I must say that I am a beginner user. My problem started with a low battery problem. Then, using recovery mgr. I first ran to the top of disks and then tried system restore. During which it stops. When I tried to restart it initially said something about starting like new from the factory. Then it said could not load the windows program. I contacted hp and tech had me buy a phone holder 1 year plan. Had me then go th the Recovery Manager and select restore to the original image. During which he gave this message. Recovery Manager cannot restore computer using the fzctory image. Please contact HP support. 0xe0ef0003 error code. He said that meant, that I need a new hard drive. Now when I turn it on it says BOOTMGR missing. Use ctrl del apt at the beginning but who doesn't. It doesn't do anything. The technology would be good? Is there a way I can check my drive first? Or another way to tell? It was not the original problem so I am not confident in its determination. Should I be?

Immediately after turning the power on, press the ESC key. This should bring up a menu which F2 is what you choose. Use Diagnostics to test your hard drive.

  • How can I get my HP Pavilion g7 laptop back to factory settings?

  • How can I reset my laptop to DVD factory State?

Hi, I recently bought a Levono Thinkpad W530 and recovery media creation/test gives me a world of hurt.

I really wish they had just sent me a recovery DVD (s) with the laptop, as Fujitsu made when I bought my laptop from them years ago.

in any case, I saw that there was no way to recovery with the laptop, but then when I started, I spotted the partition to "restore" and discovered by clicking on it that it would create recovery media.

Brilliant, I thought... This means I can create recovery 2-3 media in the case first case... Yes, it was a little naïve.

So anyway, I made my first (and as I discovered later, only) backup of factory restore using some recordable DVD at low price (Hey, they must wrote that you could only do one somewhere in prints) and now, I don't know which worked.

I mean, he tried to write to DVD 4 and 1 of them turned out not to be false (I have DVD0, DVD1 and DVD2, don't know if it was supposed to be a DVD3 or DVD to boot... I searched but did not find the answer).

I explored most of the BIOS menu and has not found a way to restore the system to factory since the DVD State (I tried all 3, I hope I'm not out 1).

I managed to do a cover of the plant, but only using the recovery disk partition hard (he doesn't use any DVD).

Could someone let me know how you get to factory of a DVD recovery state so that I can determine if my recovery DVDs work?

And assuming that recovery will not work the DVD I did, it means I'm stuck without a recovery media (which means that if the hard drive is corrupted somehow, here is Windows 7 Professional)?

Is it possible I can get Levono to send me a recovery disk or reset my recovery partition so that I can try again to make a backup of recovery on a more robust support?

And if it's the latter, that means I have to send my laptop in China, to pay for shipping and wait a month to get it back ?

Needless to say, I feel very frustrated right now.

Good day and welcome to the community.

New machines, I had much luck calling Service and asking a recovery factory set. So far, I think because I called in the first week or 2 to get the machine, I did have to pay for all. Others indicate that they have been charged a tax, though, so YMMV. To be clear, I also do my a copy allowed recovery of the value of the mechanism on the disc.

In case you haven't, here are the details of the Service:

Country or region Product Language Phone number Opening hours
Canada THINK brand products English, French 1-800-565-3344 24 hours/day
    7 days a week

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards.

I take a lot of Windows 7, but some of the features and programs that came on the laptop went (QuickPlay, Lightscribe, etc.).  Anyway, is to download and install the default programs without going back to Vista?

    @bigphilly08,.

    Hello

If you have somewhere copy c:\swsetup folder then here you have all the software vista pre-installed for your model.

You can find and install HP QuickPlay. This software also runs on Win7.

When there's some sort of problems with installing and then try to run in Vista compatibility mode.
