    Hello

I recently bought a model of p-045tx Pavilion from HP with processor intel core i7-4510u. In internet, it is mentioned, it must turbo boost up to 3.1 ghz. But when I open the Task Manager, it shows the maximum speed of only 2.6 ghz. Something is wrong, if this is not how to change it to 3.1 ghz? Answer please...

You will not see the speed of 3.1 ghz. It is a theoretical ability to burst and will happen if fast you will not see.

  • HP t3720: motherboard and ahci mode

Hello. I need to install a new SSD, but I can't find the ahci mode in the BIOS (I've already put 0 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetServicesMsahci\\\)

The motherboard A8M2N-(NodusM3) support ahci mode?

    Thank you.

Yes, I see that (I do not understand because this chipset does not support the AHCI), but the controller cannot be changed on AHCI, nor a BIOS update that will change.

If your PC has a disk RAID controller in the BIOS, which can give you slightly better performance on IDE mode so you can run with active RAID.

AHCI will simply not happen on your model.

  • What connectors SATA speed do I have on my motherboard?

    Hello

This is my first time on this forum posting.

I would like to find on what SATA connector should I "plug" a new HARD drive on my motherboard.

What SATA connector is best to have the primary/boot HARD drive connected to?

The PC I have is quite old now, and I don't even know if the motherboard has SATA II or even SATA III (speed) connections.

    The motherboard is:
    MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E)

Here is the link to the HP specifications page.
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02014355

On the list of specifications for the storage, it lists just x 4 SATA connectors.

I have reason to believe that this means that they are all only SATA I (speed) connectors?

It would be great if someone could let me know.

    Thank you very much

You are the very welcome, Ian.

Yes, it's the correct way to get the disks attached.

  • Negotiated SATA speed

    O.P.

    Hello.

Try to establish if the optical SATA connection on an iMac in early 2009 will achieve 2 SATA speed of 3 GB with a 500 GB SSD crucial MX200. Have already tried a Sandisk ultra 2 with controller Marvell and only got a negotiated speed of SATA 1 which is 1.5 GB.

Speculation on the Internet is the optical connector is limited to 1 SATA but when I go into system report that it shows that the port is capable is SATA2, but negotiated to SATA1. Don't want to destroy this iMac again until I am sure that it will work to speed SATA 2.

    Thank you

The SATA connection in optical Bay is SATA 3.0 Gb/s. It is likely that your iMac is a Nvidia MCP79 SATA controller that will limit some SSD speeds 6 GB/s SATA 1 speed. The conflict focuses on Sandforce technology and the Marvell controller apparently uses Sandforce. Your is the second instance of the problem with a Marvell controller that I answered last week. Return the SSD for a refund and get a Samsung or go to OWC and get one of their 3Gb http://eshop.macsales.com/ SSD

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop-n096ea - SATA speed?

    HI guys,.

Hoping for a little help, I searched here and google but can't find the answer if nobody knows the SATA speed for this laptop ((SATA I II III))

    Thanks for the help

    Rich

    Hi, rich:

Starting with the Mobile Intel 6 Series chipsets, support SATA III on at least two of the ports there.

Your model has a chipset Mobile Intel 8 series, so a hard drive SATA III would go to the full 6.0 Gbit/s spec.

    Hello:

Run this little program, I compressed upwards and attached below.  Conclusion of the available update.  It is the latest non-beta version which I enclose.

Conclusion of the report screen which shows to the top and on the left side of the window, click to expand the report to readers.

Click to expand the report of atapi sata drives, then select your hard drive.

This report will give you the current speed of the disk sata hard and the speed of disk controller.

You are interested in the speed of disk controller.

For example, my report shows Serial ATA 6 GB/s @ sense 6 GB/s, I have a drive sata hard 3 running on a sata controller 3.

If you have a SATA 3 and a sata controller 2, it will notify if you Serial ATA 6 GB/s @ 3GBPS.

If I set the speed SATA 3 GB/s in the BIOS then it works properly.

    My questions are:

    1. in the event that the secondary Bay be able to support SATA 6 GB/s speeds

    2. If I change the speed 3 GB/s SATA in the BIOS, will also reduce the speed of my primary SSD SATA 3 GB/s.

Thanks in advance for your help.

No and Yes. I have long tried to persuade people not to make the caddy optical drive without good thing understand what is happening. The interface is SATA-i: an optical drive has more than that. If you set the SATA mode in the BIOS to 300 Mbps which will Crown all SATA transfers. Having said that, in the reality of exploitation, SATA-II does not give much against SATA-III, the only difference is theoretical maximum burst that is rarely achieved in any case speed. Just updated to SATA-II in the BIOS and use it this way would be my advice or get a SSD for the main drive. A SATA-II SSD is still much faster than any HDD.

  • Pavilion a1620e: Athlon 64 X 2 does not not with Mo A8M2N-(Nodus3) in the a1620e Pavilion

    Hello

Pavilion a1620e (MB A8M2N-(NodusM3) with the following improvements:)

    RAM - 3 GB

    POWER 600 watt PSU

    GeForce 8800GTS

Works well with WIN 7 64 bit.

I want to upgrade the processor and like HP saying the Council is good for an Athlon 64 X 2 5000 + I tried one, but the computer refused to start - just constant high-speed fan and no other answer.

My bios version is the 3.07 original. I would try 3.10 or 5.02, but it does not seem possible to download them.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    OK
It took a while, but now I have an AMD Athlon 64 x 2 5000 + to work in my HP Pavilion a1620e computer. After having no success with the original Windsor ((ADA5000IAA5CS) I bought a Brisbane (ADO5000IAA5DO) on Ebay for 5 euros and phenomena inside.

All the research I did suggested the Brisbane does not work on the MB A8M2N-(Nodus3), but to my surprise the machine has started AND has been recognized by the BIOS. To test, I had just reinstalled the original 3500 + HSF and it was not long before that Core Temp indicated that the CPU became powerful hot so I turned off and order an ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 HSF from Amazon. It is significantly larger than the stock of 3500 + HSF and I wasn't sure if it would fit in the case of a1620e, but it doesn't - come.

It is easier to adjust by first removing the power supply (I found that it was possible to slide over the body in the way which rather than loose all their components wiring caps), then loosely tying the two tiny hold the SH screw brackets before attempting to fix in position. Once the heatsink in place the fan simply clips on it. Fan socket on the MB is three-pin, the Arctic Freezer 7 fan is four pins, but it fits the correct MB decision-making. The extra pin is for PWM speed control, but MB controls the speed of the fan very well without it.

The new HSF runs much quieter than the original and control the temperature of 5000 + perfectly. I'm writing this Core Temp shows #0 27 C Core and Core #1 34 C, with a max since the start (an hour earlier) 41 & 50 respectively.

Obviously, the new processor is faster than the old single 3500 + and worth it, if a power supply upgrade is, I think, required. The stock power supply was sorely lacking and I exchanged for a Watt ATX 630, which seems to do good with my Geforce 8800GTS and the new processor graphics card.

I noticed that the computer CPU assembling start-up can freeze occasionally and need to be restarted. Once restarted it works fine. Usually only happens once, if at all and so far I have not found a problem.

Also, I had the opportunity to examine under a glass strong mag Windsor 5000 + who did not later. One of the external pins had broken. It was almost impossible to see with the naked eye. He could well the reason why it did not work, so don't give up on Windsor if you have the A8M2N-(Nodus3), just avoid the Brisbane either. There are loads of Brisbane ADO5000IAA5DO go cheap over there and we could work just for you.

A final remark on another subject: I do not know if a member of the staff of HP take the trouble to read these forums (probably not!) but since the beginning of my research, many of the useful pages of HP customer service have disappeared from their website and redirected to a page of "Welcome to HP customer support" useless. In fact, for those of us with older computers HP does no service the customer at all. I have two HP computers: a Pavilion a1620e (the subject of this post) and a workstation XW4600. They will be the latest products from HP that I will buy. The XW4600 is still supported, probably because it has been sold for commercial application. Small vintage, produced for the individual products are not. I can understand HP did not want to spend money on the updates to the bios, etc. of these older products, but to remove all references to them shows a cynical disregard for a customer who, if they make sense, now will never buy an HP product again. Shame on you HP!

  • Qosmio X 500 does support SATA III controller?

    Hello

I think of one of my drives hard X500s replace with an SSD.
So now I'm wondering whether to buy a SATA II (3 Gbps) or SATA III (6 Gbps).

I understand that both standards will work on any SATA controller, but it the X 500 has a controller SATA III, so that I can take advantage of the extra speed of SSD? Because if not, I'd settle for the SATA II slower (and cheaper).

Is this speed mode supported by the bios, motherboard and sata controller of this laptop?

I just want to be sure that the hard drive works at its maximum speed capability and the sata and the mobo will not be a bottleneck...

If Yes, the sata controller driver whichsis?... I want this wake in my own vista installation disc.

    Hello!

Yes, you can use a disk with SATA300 mode but it only works in normal mode SATA no more at maximum speed. The Satellite A200 supports only SATA 1.0 mode (SATA150).

You can use a HARD drive with 7200 RPM, this isn't a problem.

What HARD drive capacities are supported, that you can see in the user manual. Look in Chapter 1.

The SATA driver is in the Intel Storage Manager package.

  • Maximum speed and the amount of RAM for m7664x

I have a m7664x that I will be upgrading to Windows 7 64 bit and I want to upgrade the RAM.

According to the specifications of the product, there the mother of A8M2N-(NodusM3) with 4 DIMMS.  On this page, it says that it supports up to 4 GB of RAM to 667 MHz.

Now, I came across a few posts here and elsewhere that suggest it can handle more (up to 8 GB) and more RAM speeds (PC6400 / 800 MHz) and recognized him and used.

Can anyone confirm that it can support up to 8 GB of RAM and with higher speeds?

    Wow, what an old thread!

To answer your question and update this thread, I bit the bullet and bought 8 GB of 800 MHz RAM and worked for almost a year now.  I seem to remember that I ran MemTest on it and it shows that he is indeed running at 800 MHz, but that's a long time I would have done, if I did.

I also thought about upgrading the processor, but already at that time, I installed the RAM (close to a year ago), compatible processors were hard to find and expensive.  In addition, the machine was not used for anything else than to the General functions and has also been hampered by graphics shipped to start.  At the end of the day, spend the extra money on a pretty old computer RAM was the limit for me.

blueeclipse86, you can try to upgrade the RAM on your machine, as I have done, but, of course, I can't guarantee that it'll work for you.

  • SATA - SATA2 or SATA3 card?

    Hello HP,.

I have a laptop of HP 630 and want to install an SSD in the machine.

However, I do not exactly know what version of the SATA it supported.

The product number is A3N44PA #ABG.

I read the other posts on this forum on issues simillar.

Therefore, I installed and ran PC Wizard 2013 and can provide the following details:

    NorthBridge: Intel Sandy Bridge
    SouthBridge: Intel HM65

    General information:
Disk controller: Intel 6 Series Chipset Family 6 port SATA AHCI Controller

    Features of disk controller:
    Mode: SATA

    AHCI: Yes

    Legacy IDE: Yes

    NCQ: Yes

    Port multiplier: No.

    eSATA: No.

    I/o ports: 1 o available
    AHCI Version: 1.30

    Bandwidth: 6 Gb/s

    Port #0: Det ATA Device
    Port #1: No device-
    Port #2: No device-
    Port #3: No device-
    Port #4: No device-
    Port #5: No device-

According to the recording, the bandwidth is 6 GB/s so in theory drive a SATA3 would operate at full speed -?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Hi Anand

SATA III drives will give you only the 6 GB/s speeds in laptops which have motherboards that support, otherwise only default to 3 Gb/s drive. But it will certainly work with a slight increase in performance for your laptop. WD Black you have chosen is a good.
