Speed of Windows Media Player settings

Hi, I use Windows Media Player, version11.0.5721.5280 and I try to resolve (but not save) the speed of the files that I play. I click on "improvements" and "cruise control" which supposedly allows me to change the speed settings. However, the "cursor" which supposedly allows me to do so does not.  I am trying to transcribe something as soon as POSSIBLE, so your help is very appreciated!

Hello

I suggest following steps and check if you do not have:

a. launch Windows Media Player 11.

b. open the menu improvements. Click view > enhancements > play speed settings.

(c) or right click on the Now Playing > enhancements > play speed settings.

d. now, you can see a sign "play speed settings. Click Normal slow or fast to adjust the speed. Or move the slider to adjust the speed.

e. If you are having problems moving the slider, uncheck "Snap sider to common speeds.

f. now you can adjust the playback speed in Windows Media Player 11.

  • The Windows Media Player settings

I have Media Player set up to automatically copy the music cd when I place the cd in the dvd/cd drive.  Before you begin to rip the cd, a pop up screen appears which says:

"So that this application is running correctly, your display settings should be changed to 1024 x 768 in 32-bit color.

Click OK to continue, or Cancel to exit. »

If I shot all right, everything is displayed great expremely.   When I cliché Cncel, he goes ahead and rip the Cd.  However, when the next CD is inserted, the same screen comes up again.

    Issues related to the:

    1. what should I do to keep the screen from popping up and always rip the CD?

    2. that means the display settings have to do with rip a music CD?

This isn't the media player that appears.  The CD is an 'active' CD that has a program loaded on it, in addition to music. These types of CD were popular years, although I thought they went largely to the style.

You can prove it by going to 'My computer' and see the CD drive. Right click and go to "Explore" and notice that the CD has real computer files on it, not just music.

It is this program that is "autorun" and asking to change your resolution.  I would simply decline the message.

You can also go to your AutoPlay settings and disable the option to automatically launch the CD with active content.

  • Windows Media Player playback speed problem - static...

I play an MP3 to an audio book on WMP file and when I go on it 2 X normal playback speed, suddenly the sound produces a static noise. The audio is always readable, but static electricity is super annoying.

Do you know what causes this and how to fix it?

    Thank you very much

Thanks for the tips... I found actually an ideal solution that completely eliminated the problem...

I previously converted the audio book in MP3 format, and as I said, I had that static when going above 2 X the playback speed.

Well, what I did to solve the problem is the following:

I used RealPlayer (which is a 100% free tool) to convert the MP3 to a Windows Media Audio file. Just click convert to button in RealPlayer and change the settings and press convert...

    AND'RE YOU READY TO GO...

The audio is excellent... zero static... and now I can listen to the audio book of more than 2 X the normal speed in Windows Media Player and do with it in less time that I would otherwise...

    It's a beautiful thing!

Wanted to leave instructions because other people have noticed that they have had this problem and I am sure that there will be more who need a solution in the future...

  • How always show the toolbar of the improvements in the latest version of Windows Media Player?

I made the switch from XP to Win7 64 bit and I would like to get WMP to behave like the previous version where the playback speed settings were still visible after the opening of WMP. I can't figure out how to activate this visibility option in the latest version. In the current version, I have to open the menu of upgrades, select the toolbar, and then rearrange on the screen to make it visible, and then set the speed.

Clues on how to solve this problem so that I see the toolbar automatically everytime I open the program? Thank you.

    Hi usp.

I'm afraid to say that you shouldn't find this option open by default as it was in previous versions of Windows Media Player. And there is no work around to get its default opening because it's by the architecture of the software.

However there is an improvement in the same, instead of the default toolbar that we had previously we an arrow below the now playing tab where you can navigate in the development option.
    Here's how:
    1. start the playback of a file.
    2. click on the arrow on the tab playing, point to enhancements, and then click play speed settings.
    3. move the speed slider play on the speed at which you want to read the content, or click the slow, Normal or fast.
    4. to select speeds between the speeds of game marked, in the enhancements pane, clear the cursor Snap box common speeds.
    5. to hide the settings, click Close in the enhancements pane.
