Spinning BeachBall on Mac

I have a ridiculously fast computer. 12-core MacPro with 32 GB of RAM.

Yet, when I'm in the Adobe cloud applications I get a lot of spinning beachball when I try and do things. This seems to have happened since the last update. It happens only with Adobe products. I mainly work in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver.

I guess it has something to do with the tender hand to Adobe on the web to make sure that my apps are purchased and what not. Anyone else encounter this?

I talked to a couple of my friends and they too seem to be a lot of rotation. They thought that they need more ram or CPU. As my machine has a lot of CPU and RAM and I have internet 75MBps, I think it's something else.

Not a question of Adobe. A Mac OS problem. It all happens in working as well in Safari. Disregard this question

    Could be my problem?

    Hi, Goldenbill.

    Please visit Apple support communities.

I understand that your computer stops responding when waking from sleep.  Be sure to quit all open applications that are not in use before placing your iMac in mode 'sleep'.  The article below describes how to leave applications for Yosemite, but the measures also apply to the 10.6.8.

    OS X Yosemite: Quit apps

The next step would be to go through the following troubleshooting information.

If your Mac does not wake up when you plan

Your Mac can to pause a few seconds before he wakes up. If she does not wake up at all, check these possibilities:

    • The brightness of your screen may be refused.
    • If you use an external monitor, your screen can be disabled.
    • Your Mac may be safe sleep. For to wake up the safe sleep, press the power button.
    • Find a light sleep, if any, and make sure that your Mac is not turned off.

If the previous steps do not work

These additional steps can help identify or resolve the problem:

    • Reset the SMC.
    • Reset the NVRAM.
    • Disconnect external devices other than your Apple keyboard, mouse, and screen. If that solves the problem, gradually reconnect your devices, testing each time until you find the device that interferes with sleep. And then check the documentation that came with the device or contact the manufacturer of the device.
    • Start in Safe Mode to see if the problem is related to startup items not Apple, login items or kernel extensions.
    • Try to isolate the problem by using a different user account.

If your Mac does not sleep or wake up when expected

    See you soon

  • iMac hangs after connecting with the interminable spinning beachball, but works in safe mode.

    Plug

    iMac 27 "(mid-2010) running Os X El Capitan 10.11.4"

Processor: 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3

    Memory: 16 GB at 1333 MHz DDR3

    Problem

With a normal startup, iMac will start properly and I can successfully connect. Once connected, I immediately get a popup window stating "To open"CS5ServiceManager", you need to install the runtime Java SE 6 legacy." I have the opportunity to click on 'Détails' or 'OK', if I click on what anyone, I immediately get the spinning beachball. I'm sure that he ran the updates at night, because the next morning was when problems began to occur.

With a sure start, I can connect properly, everything is and I can open applications, it's just very slow.

What I have done (in no particular order)

1 Ran first aid utility disk

2 reinstalled OS X El Capitan

    3 reset the NVRAM

    4. the elements of disabled opening (Dropbox and Google Drive)

4 Ran correctly in Safe Mode, but when I rebooted the problem still occurred.

Recently I also upgraded my RAM from 8 GB to 16 GB, it has greatly improved the performance of the machine, and I don't have any problems so far.

I'm almost to the point of wiping the device to its factory settings, because it is so frustrating me. I really don't store anything on site, everything is in the cloud, or on an external hard drive.

  • Update to iTunes 12.2 and beyond features spinning beachball

Version of the SCM (System): 2.19f12

Since the upgrade to iTunes 12.2 (currently using 12.3.1.23), I get the spinning beachball whenever I try to edit a mp3 tag (for example, editing track info).  The beachball runs for 1 to 2 minutes, during which, I can't use iTunes.  During this time, playing music will continue until the trail ends, but don't skip to the next track until the spinning beachball resolves.

The beachball also appears while I rip CDs, a process that is now extremely long, as the beachball spins for several minutes while the song is to complete its importation in the iTunes library.  Meanwhile, iTunes is also unusable.

There are no other problems with my MacBook Pro, and it's the only problem I've had since the upgrade.  As a heavy iTunes user, this problem is extremely frustrating.  I tried to download and reinstall iTunes, but this action has not resolved the problem.

I noticed that whenever I open a pdf file (any file, any size or complexity) I get a spinning beachball for about 30 seconds before allowing to do almost anything.

  • S-L-O-O-O-W! If this problem has been resolved? Spinning Beachball every time I change anything!

Hi all - I have the latest version of Dreamweaver CC 2014 (6733 Build). It is desperately slow. I searched and found a lot of discussions about it, tried a few recommendations, but have not found a solution to this problem - and I need to get this working ASAP because I spend too much time waiting and waiting and waiting. I even started a new site, with only one html page. Something as simple as applying an h1 tag, and then editing the text attributes: Color - wait, wait, wait (spinning beachball), wait, wait... changed. Then change the size - wait, wait, wait (spinning beachball), wait, wait... changed. Change police - wait, wait, wait (spinning beachball), wait, wait... changed. I'm sure you get the point. This is a completely unacceptable way to work! The same thing happens on my desktop and my laptop. Any advice would be really appreciated.

FOLLOW-UP: I must say that Adobe Support treats this very good question - Preran and Sonam thanks for you help! They tried to communicate with me the day after my post, but I was not available - make us an appointment for today and she called earlier. We did about troubleshooting an hour and found out it was a police problem. I use a police utility that had some sort of conflict with my system fonts. Once it has been resolved, Dreamweaver is now very fast. My advice to anyone having this problem would be to stop all non-system fonts and see if that helps. Keep the excellent work and support Adobe... this user absolutely appreciate it!

  • Spinning beachball in indesign

Hi there, it seems to have just started since the addition of CC, but I also just got new font software, so I don't know if it's a problem link or fonts. Seems to happen on any task, every 5 min or so 10 seconds of beachball. Y at - it sort of difficulty, or reinstall I can do? I like to keep my prefs if possible. Thank you!

    Hi rjrabba,

You can certainly reset preferences and check. Re install should be the last option.

To reset the preferences, you must:

    1. (Windows) Start InDesign and press Shift + Ctrl + Alt to a click of compounds Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
    2. (Mac OS) While pressing Shift + Option + command + control, start InDesign. When asked if you want to delete preference files, click Yes.

In re installation, make sure you remove old preferences (you will get this option during the uninstall of the product)

    Kind regards

  • 6.1.6 spinning wheel on Mac 10.7.5 Safari

Again, my computer knows the dreaded spinning wheel Safari! I have had this a year or two ago and so switched to Google Chrome and Firefox but apple told me that Safari has been so much more secure so I went back to Safari without problems for at least 3 months, so far! This is the material I have:

MacBook Pro; 10.7.5 OSX; 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo;  4 GB

    Version of Safari 6.1.6

Can someone help me solve this problem?

I am unlikely to upgrade the operating system apple better advised engineering leave as it.

Why the genius he said you do not upgrade?

Safari/Preferences/Advanced - activate the menu to develop it, then go ahead and empty Caches. Quit/relaunch Safari and test. • InDesign CS4 slow. Spinning beachball headaches

Can someone help me solve this problem? InDesign CS4 document with a few pages and about 24 images on a page. With CMYK images imported the rendering and re-tearing is very slow. The process shows 99% of use of InDesign. Makes it almost impossible to work on a document.

    Any ideas to fix this?

    I use a 27 "iMac with 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 - memory: 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

EPS files are not required for cmyk printing, try to use the psd files, which is recommended in any case for a number of reasons, see the comments of Peter Spier here.

Indeed, with the right settings, you can use a huge amount of files to png and jpeg RGB as well and as long as they're high enough resolution very good results.

  • Safari crashes when you visit some Web sites.

Safari freezes when I visit certain websites. The sites include espn.go.com and www.nytimes.com. I think it might have something to do with the graphics on the page. I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed. The gel causes me to restart the computer by using the toggle switch, as my mouse pointer can move, but can't click on anything. Thanks for the help.

This seems to be the same problem that has affected particularly other Mac and PC users for the past two months, all over the world. Amazon sites especially behave badly in this regard, giving rise to not only the phenomenon of gel, but also the appearance of spinning beachball dreaded Mac. There has been lengthy discussions within these forums about this. Almost all browsers and all platforms are affected by this. Flash doesn't seem to be a factor, and the last three versions of Mac OS x - Mavericks and El Capitan, Yosemite - are also affected.

The problem seems to be caused by Javascript has changed to some Web sites, which now makes these sites less compatible with browsers. My own investigations have shown that, in the case of Safari, the problem was sensitive to the fontsize. Certainly, in the case of the iMac, if you went in the settings of Safari preferences, to the Advanced tab and set the browser fontsize on 14 or less, he avoided the question and subsequently, the site was stable. In your case, you use a MacBook, but nevertheless it might be useful to try the same thing.

This problem is widespread, but it will never be fixed unless and until Apple is enough complaints from users. So, complain! http://www.apple.com/feedback. Web sites have to say so, but it is not so easy to communicate with their developers, I found.

This question has become huge in its importance. Apple seems insensitive to this (or selfless), even after a few months.

My personal opinion is that, regardless of the implementation "upset" JavaScript on the Web sites, Safari itself has a few bugs in this area. I found the beachball appearing momentarily (with no adverse effect after) when switching back to using the Web to an embedded application or the GUI of my router, for example.

  • help-problems with Mac book since the upgrade to Yosemite

I have a 13 "Macbook, end of 2010. It is used to run perfectly until I installed Yosemite in late 2014 when he started to run slowly and Safari would crash. The problems have got worse with each update. Now when I boot, I get a white screen with a progress downstairs bar and it may take between 1-3 minutes before I get the logon screen. Programs also take a long time to load and I constantly get the rotation beach ball.  I don't have any external hardware attached and am does not have any software that needs to use a lot of RAM. I ran an EtreCheck - results below. Can someone help me understand?
