Sprout J4W72AA: Destruction of HP

HP have invaded my computer and updated the workspace softare Sprout. The 'new' software seems to be less easy to use. I say ppears, because despite the mulgtiple reboots it up the first time that I try to scan a document. I called support and after answering questions for the auto attendant, told me they couldn't take my and I have to call back later, click. Thanks for the useless scanner.

HP does support the shoot or not?

Jim96, this is a Forum based on a user.  We are all volunteers especially sitting at home, volunteering our time to try and help other users.

This is not an official point of contact to get help from HP.  There are a few HP representatives who come here, but they do on their time.

  • Revised Sprout material?

Has anyone else noticed that there are two seeds listed on the site of HP?  One is Nr J4X03AA and the other is Nr J4W72AA.  They are also described as the 23-sO20 Sprout Immersive computer and computer 23-sO10 Sprout Immersive, respectively.  Wonder what is the difference?

Looking at the specs for both models, the only difference I can spot is that a (s010) model comes with two Antivirus McAfee applications.

    Maybe it's the "USA-centric" model...?

  • Choose scanner or scanner officejet Sprout

Sprout scan KO from win10 update. OfficeJet 6500 has more unusable scanner. Is it possible to choose?

Hey @SergeB1and welcome to the Forums of HP!

It seems that you have computer Sprout and want to still use your 6500 a scanner Officjeet. Software for your installed Officejet still? You can choose which method of scanning want it.

If you experience a problem using the Officejet, I suggest to use printing HP and doctor Scan.

HP printing and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly resolve problems printing, scanning and connectivity, including but not limited to:

    • Connectivity:

USB: Check that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product works properly.

Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working properly.

    • Device Status Test: checks the errors of the device, such as paper, paper jams, stands transport and paper issues and provides instructions to resolve the error.
    • Driver: checks the driver missing or corrupt files.
    • Device Manager: check the problems in Device Manager that could prevent printing.
    • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.
    • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).
    • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.
    • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.
    • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.
    • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.
    • Test print: print a test page for the assessment of the print quality and provides options for cleaning and if necessary print head alignment.
    • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

Source: www.hp.com/go/tools < click here to download and run the print and Scan doctor.

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to find that the key and the box are both in a green circle.

    • If you see only the Green checkmarks, the tool has not found no problem.
    • If you see Green key, the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.
    • If you see yellow exclamation points, the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.
    • If you see a red X, follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing back on your part.

  • Germinate by HP: bought a sprout of HP and the microphone does not work

I bought a HP pushes about five months ago. I recently discovered that the microphone is not working when I tried to use it on an application that I have. It's windows 10 and always up to date. I tried to download the audio drivers from the HP site, but that did not help. I've also given to plant affecting several times, but this has not fixed the problem. Any suggestion on why a microphone may not work? Any input would be appreciated with thanks a lot.

  • SPROUT of HP: HP SPROUT and PAPERPORT 14 PRO

I just bought the HP GERMER and regularly use Paperport Professional 14 but Paperport can't see the Scanner from internal documents of the shoot

Has anyone else had the same problem and found a solution pilot, landmark or work around

I suffer from Alzheimer's so strongly depend on Paperport for storage of documents and retrieval

Any help or advice much appreiated

"Digitizer" of germs is actually the camera high resolution. Therefore, it seems the system as a camera (and not as a scanner). Do not know how Paperport manages the cameras as sources of document... Or if external analysis can be imported (IE if you scanned by using the workspace). In the case of sprout Pro it seems to be a dedicated HP scanning application that performs the scan, do not know if this is (or will be) available on the market.

  • Can I update windows 10 on Sprout?

If I update windows 10, can I also use sprout function? (Scan, projector, sprout apps, etc.).
    No probpem?

I agree with ray1204 on this: HP must assess and update or do say us that it is impossible.

I have not run Windows 10 on Sprout; However, I've been running on a laptop, and I've done it since the Insider program began.  I'm now up to build 10130.  I would not risk running Windows 10 on Sprout, so if someone else did, I'm interested.

Windows 10 previews in stability and utilization have improved, but the user interface is different in Windows 8.  Windows 8 has a desk and a splash screen that seem quite distinct.  Windows 10 looks like a desktop and applications, the functions file, etc. appear on a screen separated when you click on the Windows button.  Which is kinda the same, but now modern applications and heritage applications all play together.  The store and the browser are new and very different, etc.

Shoot, we all discovered, is his own strange beast.  The use of the desktop screen and start with the germination environment is quite strange.  Manual of the developer makes more mysterious, in my opinion.

I think that HP has got to do some work on Windows 10 and probably change Sprout.  Which may not happen until the release of the "final" Windows 10.

    Patience is my suggestion.

  • Sprout will not start

    Hello

I have a problem with my computer Sprout: it does not start when it is off.

The only time wherever it worked properly was the first time that I started it. The two other times I had to reset the BIOS, and finally, he worked after leaving it unplugged for a few dozen hours approximately.

    Interestingly, he

has no problem restart, for example to install upgrades.

I suspect the whole to be a bios problem, if it is not not a hardware problem. Pointers?

    Thank you!

After the most comprehensive test, I determined that the problem was the power supply or the mother/processor board. I described the problem with the customer service and HP will change them both, which is cool.

Marked as resolved, but in a kind of poorly... Wished I could do something myself.

  • Sprout projector

It's probably too obvious if it's a snake it would bite me, but is there a way to turn off the projector/camera when I use the germ for a basic PC task?    I don't have as much time as I would like to play with him for other things again and I don't want the camera when I'm not actually use.

    Thank you
    Tracy

As DavidPK pointed out, it's the button more right on the Matt connection area.  Pressure will turn off the matte touch sensor, a longer shuts down the projector too.  (The User Guide labels page as "Getting to know your Sprout" - Chapter 1, Page 2).  You can also simply disconnect the carpet to turn off the projector.

Given that the carpet is soft, malleable, and can be damaged if accidentally stabbed or folded, I would recommend removing when not necessary!

Also be aware of the function "desk lamp!  Typed on the front controls round metal LED.  (Low/POWER).

I thought that the projector had gone down on the first time I used a shoot!  (I suggested since an icon added to the Tower!)

  • 90% of the time I'm redirected to a destructive (according to WOT) site when I click on a search result.

will you bug with this problem because it's bad. I DO NOT WANT to BE REDIRECTED to DESTRUCTIVE SITES. But lately that seems to be what is happening when I click on a regular search item. How can I avoid this. The search item has a good website mentioned and if I cut and paste it works. I never had this trouble before. It has to do with the latest updates? Help. Thank you.

Some of the following items may be covered by bandages, but...

Search engine results links going to the wrong site may indicate that the Google redirect Virus. Because it's so widespread, there is a lot of bugs summaries posted, so try to use a reputable company/site.

In the latest discussions - for example, I have a Google redirect virus that redirects every time I click on every search engine, in all browsers, on a completely different site. • Pavilion 500-314: Reinstall not destructive

I am trying to perform a non-destructive reinstall of Win Home 64 bit on my 500-314 Pavilion 8.1.

Since HP does not provide Windows installation floppies, and this procedure can be done recovery disc, I did a USB bootable Microsoft support Web site.

The problem is that, once started, it tends to cling on one screen. I had the process works correctly once but be cause that I stupidly tried to do something else at the same time, I had to take off to the resettlement. Since I had to restart, I have not the option reinstall back screen.  Now when I start again from the USB key, reinstall it starts but clings to the screen "Ensuring you are ready to install" instead of the option on which screen reinstall to perform. I tried waiting for that step to continue, but after 6 hours, I decided it was certainly stuck (it happened several times). I tried several reboots, but that doesn't seem to help. It gets to the screen of tht and then stops.

I ran the installer as an administrator, so this isn't it. I made the media twice so this isn't it.  Any ideas why installation does not now (same thoough it once)?

PS no, I buy the installation diskettes not factory win 8.1, since I will be upgrading to Windows 10 once the bugs are developed in a few months.

You are of course, right, on the difference between a repair installation and update - and I wish MS had done it much clearer to people because their general information leads people to assume these are the same, and when they do a refresh and lose their applications, they are very angry!

  • Can you perform a destructive restore using a disc to upgrade to windows 7 when you run windows xp pro?

Hello! I want to perform a destructive restore, but I lost my WIindows XP pro installation CD. At the same time, I want to upgrade to Windows 7 and I was wondering if I can just buy a Windows 7 upgrade disk and took the opportunity to do a full restore, I want to erase everything from my computer and put everything to factory settings, as if she was completely new.

What do you mean exactly by "destructive recovery? I take from your post, it means that you want to format the system drive and perform a new installation of Windows 7. In other words, start with a clean hard drive.

If this is correct, then YES; Indeed, during the upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 there is no actual "upgrade path" as the upgrade requires a custom (clean) installation of Windows 7.

Before the upgrade, if you haven't already done so, it is highly recommended to run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to make sure that your computer is capable of running Windows 7. Windows 7 was designed to use the latest technology and equipment and many older machines are not able to run the new operating system.

You should also visit the windows Compatibility Center 7 to determine if all of the devices (printers, scanners, cameras, etc.) and the programs on your computer are compatible with Windows 7. For printers and other devices, you will need the name of the manufacturer and exact model number.

    Windows 7 Compatibility Center
     http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

The upgrade to Windows 7 will also require that you will find and install the Windows 7 drivers (32-bit or 64-bit based on what you are upgrading to) for all you hardware and devices. This includes the BIOS (if any), the motherboard (chipset), audio, video, LAN, mouse and keyboard, printers, scanners, cameras, etc. In the case of printers, scanners and devices, you also need the software associated with your version of Windows 7 in addition to new drivers.

Creation of new drivers is the manufacturer of the device; in other words the computer manufacturer or the manufacturer of material or actual device. If your computer is a great brand (Dell, HP, etc) visit of the machine to support the site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific computer model. In the case of printers and others, visit the support from their manufacturer, still looking for new Windows 7 drivers for your specific camera model. Google is your friend.

Before you begin the upgrade process, you must back up all your files and data, including pictures, movies, music, contact lists and anything else that you do not want to lose; Yet once, this upgrade requires the disk formatted as either hard erase everything on the drive. Ideally, this backup should be on external media such as an external hard drive or a (of a sufficient diameter) flash drive.
