  I have a table 'region' in my schema called dss.
  

  SQL > desc region
  R_REGIONKEY
  R_NAME
  R_COMMENT

  I want to LOAD the data into this table of the region in a file called "region.tbl" located at d:\tpch\region.tbl, using a CONTROL file that is also on the the same place is to say d:\tpch\region.ctl.
  
  Region.tbl file contains few records. Recording of a SAMPLE of region.tbl is as follows:
  
  * 1 | AMERICA | HS ironic use, same request. s | *
  
  Region.CTL file contains the following lines to load data using sql loader:
  
  DOWNLOAD THE DATA
  INFILE'd:\tpch\region.tbl'
  IN THE REGION OF THE TABLE
  FIELDS TERMINATED BY ' |'
  * (R_REGIONKEY, R_NAME, R_COMMENT) *.
  
  so I go to the command prompt, navigate to the location of the above files and run the command:
  

  D:\TPCH > sqlldr control = region.ctl dss/dss = userid

  and get the following error:
  
  SQL * Loader-128: unable to start session
  ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused
  
  I have the same table under the "system" user creation, but I get a different error with this that is:
  
  SQL * Loader-941: error when the table REGION describe statement
  ORA-04043: object REGION does not exist
  
  Using Oracle 11 g on my Windows XP.

  You can connect with dss/dss? For example, what

  sqlplus dss/dss
  

  If no, and you are sure that the name of username/password combination is correct, have you checked things like $ORACLE_SID - i.e. it points to the right database?

• Explorer.EXE error after the restoration of the ERD Commander

  Windows XP Service Pack 2

  Recently performed a HD format and new installation of XP SP2. After I installed all the drivers and others, I checked that the system was operating normally. After a few days of use, Windows Update downloaded Service Pack 3 and asked me to install. I started to install SP3, but at about 50%, the laptop battery is dead at Midway through the installation. I plugged the laptop on the power source and power. I restarted the laptop and XP started only a completely black screen and the white slider. No ALT + CTRL + DEL, desktop icons, etc.

  I rebooted the laptop of ERD Commander, ran the restore system and selected the first available Restore Point. Point of restoration chosen was recorded a few days before, and was the first recorded point after the clean installed XP. I rebooted the XP system. Wallpaper loaded with white cursor, but NO start menu or desktop icon. A message appears saying "Explorer.EXE Application error, press OK to exit the application" or something very similar. Did not write the error code, but can get if necessary. If I press the OK button (which is my only option), there is still no icons on the desktop or the start menu. Only the cursor. No access ALT + CTRL + DELETE or something like that.

  Thinking about completely wipe the system and reinstalls the operating system. Any suggestions before I jump in this solution?

  Explorer.EXE error after the Restore Point of ERD Commander. Dell Inspiron B130. Recently clean installed XP SP2 on laptop. Installation of SP3, to 50%, battery dies the laptop right in the middle of the installation of the SP3 update. Restarted, XP starts with black screen with cursor only. ERD restart order and restore XP to the last known good config (I choose point immediately after XP clean install). Reboot to XP. Now the wallpaper shows as well as the error message saying "Explorer.exe Application error, click OK to exit Explorer" dialog and then I can't access anything. Any ideas?

  Step 1: Check if you are able to boot into safe mode without any problem. If you are able to boot into safe mode without any problems then try to perform the clean boot to safe mode. Also disconnect any external devices connected to the computer.

  I am running Oracle 10 g on my machine. I have create an ER diagram in Toad Data Modeler, which includes all the keys, constraints etc..
  I generated a DDL script that I want to biuld my tables with Oracle.
  
  I loaded the script using SQL DDL * more calculation sheet and there is no problem.
  I then tried to insert test data in my tables and I get an error code:
  
  ORA-00942 table or view does not exist.
  
  
  Now, I know that the tables have been created and also check with the dictionary of data using

  We have a process BPEL has been deployed and working for a while. This process is defined to query a table in every 5 seconds and set the State on BPEL_POLLED once found. It was working fine until I dropped and re - recreates the table that was questioned. (No changes have been made to the structure of the table - I was mearly testing a build script).
  
  This table was recreated, the BPEL process stopped polling. I have re-deployed service, stopped and started the server and it is not the voting table.
  
  May I take it that drop and recreate the table being queried have an impact on the electoral process and I looked through the forums, but I don't really know what I'm looking for?
  
  I'm not a developer, BPEL, however I was left the task of working through this, any help would be appreciated.

  Hi James,
  This is an expected default behavior (in 10.1.3.4 MLR #7 from at least). The State of the process is set to 'stop' if the vote fails with a SQL error. If you look at the log file, after you turn on debugging, you'd be able to see an explicit message that indicates that the process is currently disabled.

  If you simply change the status of the process to 'On' even once, it would begin returning.
  Or to be on the safer side, if you want to change the structure etc. of the voting table, its best to withdraw from the process, modify the table and then activate the process.

  But when I recompiled the package after you recreate these synonyms, I get a plethora of error messages, 2784 including 2696, 2749, 2750, 2761, 2777, 2778, etc. They all seem to point to code that references the synonyms.
  But when I run a select using these synonyms, it works.
  So what could be wrong here? Why does compilation fail if names are working?

• White loading bar appears after the splash screen. TAKES FOREVER TO FILL!

  I recently formatted my windows xp because it was slowing down. I do this once a year and its good because my newly formatted computer takes 30 sec or less to load. However this time I formatted, after the screen intel and BIOS, a black scren appears for 1 minute, then an alternating black and white bar appears at the bottom. no text, nothing. This bar fills up until halfway, then the "xp" logo appears and the computer loads normally. the problem is that the loading bar takes 7 min + join to halfway. so my newly formatted computer load in 8-9 minutes rather than 30 seconds like its supposed to!

  Thanks for posting. Please, try the following.

  1. place your Windows XP installation CD and start to her...
  2. Press any button to start the Windows installation (don't worry... we do not actually use the installer at this point)
  3. wait a few moments for the installation program starts, when you see repair an installation of Windows XP using the Recovery Console, and then press the R key
  4. wait until you see this screen, enter the number of your master installation. (Typically 1 to C:\Windows)
  5. press ENTER.
  6. If you are prompted to do so, enter your administrator password. If you don't have one, leave the field blank and press to enter.
  7. from the command prompt, type: chkdsk/r (note the space between chkdsk and / r)
  Allow it to complete undisturbed.
  8. remove the disc, then restart.

  I get the error WindowsUpdate_80200053. Also now I can't download active x controls, updated maleware deleting files (Spy bot s & D gives check sum errors), any web site, including the Microsoft Update download (I get warnings of the author is unknown and corrupted file warning.)
