    Hello everyone!
I bought the Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra M3-581TG i3 - 2377M mobile and I have a huge doubt, because in all the sites I check and also in the web official acer I bought my laptop says that the battery lasts up to 8 hours, but when I use the laptop with full battery charge between 0% and with the laptop turned off completely. I start the laptop and the battery last only from 2.30hrs. To 3 hours. I would like to know which is a battery problem or normal battery sucks at this time here.

It seems that your common use does not use nVidea and is similar to mine.

Your model is also quoted as ~ 8 hours so if I were you, I would contact Acer - (I'd be happy to get about 3 hours).

  • The warranty will be void if I upgrade the RAM on the Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra M3-581?

The warranty will be void if I upgrade the RAM on the Acer Aspire Timeline Ultra M3-581? I read that one of the slots of RAM is expandable to 8 GB. Also some of the models M3 have SSDS, according to my specifications mine is not, is it possible to put my own in?

    Thank you.

    Nice day

    1. regarding upgrading to SSD and memory size max, please send me the part number of your machine or your serial number and I will advise you with accurate information.

    2. with regard to upgrading the ram, you can do it, BUT if damage you no matter which component while improving the security, then the warranty is voided. Also note that if you upgrade the ram, Acer will only cover its own warranty parts. If the ram you add becomes faulty, you will need to return the ram to the person / reseller you buy.

Then this model does support SATA III? I am interested in the hard drive WD3200BEKX.

    Hello.

You can use your laptop hard drive because it has a SATA interface and the HARD drive is 2.5 mm. Just keep in mind that the transfer speed will be limited by the bandwidth of SATA II, which is 3 Gb/s.

    I hope this helps.

  • M5-581TG: fan control

    Hello

I have a m5-581TG, and when I use it, for example, at the beginning, or only when opening IE, or by using Windows update, fan's quickier. Even if the computer is cold.

    Is this normal?

After the installation of the computer, it was most of the time at high speed. But after the installation of software on the acer site, it goes more slowly.

    Someone has an idea?

    Kind regards.

"Even when the laptop is not under load, the system fan never stops running. With the active energy saving profile, we measured an average of 34 DB(a) - is acceptable. The minimum is 32 DB(a). When the GPU and the CPU is idling, but the maximum performance profile is activated, the fan turns and reached 36.3 dB (A). The system is now quite audible and may not be suitable for quiet environments. Under load, the cooling system of the M5-581TG gets pushed further - a powerful GPU requires a decent cooling - and reached 40.7 dB (A). During our test (FurMark + Prime95) stress, the system is not much stronger: we measured 41.6 DB(a). »

    Hello

Have you checked the BIOS for the SATA mode option settings?

Some BIOS supports a SATA mode: AHCI and compatible.
In case you want to use the SATA performance, you must use the AHCI parameter.

AFAIK the external eSATA port supports the 300 MB/s and in the BIOS must be set to serial ATA (default) port4.

The interface of the host load max 300 MB/s but sustained data read would be max 100 MB/s and 40 MB/s max sustained data write

  • Second SSD dies after only 13 months

    Hello

I read the topic of the 'death of SSD on Aspire S7' on this forum.

Having posted the following comments on it I thought that I would do better to start a new and share my progress with you.

    ----

I read with interest the previous comments on the early failure rate, but what are the chances to get a reliable drive before the warranty runs out?

I had the SSD on my M5 fail after about 7 months. Acer it replaced under warranty, but it has just failed again one month out of warranty. So 2 doesn't have a SSD in 13 months. Tech support said there is nothing they can do, but take care to have a replacement mounted. This doesn't seem fair to me. Not all happy.

  • MacBook Pro and SanDisk Ultra II 960 GB does not

I bought two SSDs to 960GB SanDisk Ultra II for installation in a Late 2009 27 inch iMac and a MacBook Pro mid-2012. I could absolutely not anything other than a white screen on the 27-inch. I could get the external computer to boot via USB, but when it is plugged in SATA, it wouldn't start. OWC had a few caveats on the NVidia SATA bargaining chips down to a 1.5GBs of speed when you try to bind to a 6 G drive. I replaced it with an Electra OWC 3 G Reader (which worked perfectly). I returned the unopened SSD.

My next goal is to enter the SSD in the MBP. He chips Intel SATA and is not supposed to have bizarre problems. Once again, I have installed the operating system and started via the USB port, no problems. It does not start when installed internally via SATA. If I drill the old HD, it starts immediately. The SSD makes a folder with one? in the middle.

I have repartioned the reader for Mac. I also tried to clone with all disk utility, same result. I guess I could try SuperDuper or clone of carbon. I just installed another OWC drive in an other iMac and used disk cloning utility, and it worked perfectly.

I wish that I had bought the OWC drive now, but I'm stuck with this open disk and I would like to make it work. Has anyone else had problems? I think that the drive is bad, but when in a dock player, it works very well and will start the computer via USB.

When the SSDS was to the iMac 27 inches, she would not even allow the target disk mode, ot any source of start-up. I really thought that the video card was defective at first, but this player has been creating chaos.

All the words of wisdom are welcome.

To make a long story short, it's the SATA cable. The computer would boot from a classic HD so I thouhgt the SATA cable was OK.  Apparently, when these cables fail, they can operate at low speed, but there still may not work at all in trying to negotiate a connection with a 6 G SSD speeds. I also noticed that with the wrong cable, the link negotiated with the convnetional reader speed was 1.5 Gbit/s which was lower than expected. I replaced the cable of a reputable vendor and I got another job of SSD. I think the SanDisk that I ended up returning was really beautiful AND compatible.

I was clued in after a brand that I know with certainty was compatible would not work either. PowerBookMedic sells relaible cables. "cheap" replacements are not recommended.

    Hope this helps someone else.

Recently upgrade my SSD configuration. So I still have to check in my projects I've been working on and put the media files and all

    for the new SSD.

My thought on the hard drive setup.

    (C) Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD (OS and programs)

(E :) WD Black 1 TB for storage

    (F) SSD 480 GB Sandisk Ultra II for Media Files folder of the project

(G),SSD 480 GB Sandisk Ultra II for the Cache previews

Here is an image showing the readers:

    New Drives.jpg

Firstly a bit of my workflow.

I do my correction of color and most of the effects in the first.
I work mainly in first with dynamic link to 2015 after effects CC (audio mix in Audition with video export not dynamic link).

I work in After Effects alone is that for some intensive 3D editing, intros, outros.

When in Premiere Pro... I do the dynamic link to After Effects to replace After Effects Composition and to render in Place (can always come back to make changes later).

I do all my titles in After Effects with dynamic link as well. Yet once, make and replace it as always.

If it's something intense, I work in After Effects only and import that into first separately.

My projects are not huge. Never really more than 50 GB. Usually short videos upward at 10 minutes.

Now, I read in the manual on some of what I'm about to ask, but some is still not clear.

    Here are some shots:

First my global memory configuration (upgraded to 32 GB of RAM soon)

    Global Memory.jpg

First screenshots and issues: Please see at the beginning of this thread and the structure of the unit.

It is where I have my Cache of media and data base: G:\ which is a Sandisk Ultra II SSD 480 GB
    Premiere Cache.jpg

Now, my question is about the capture video and Audio captured. Type to get what it is...

but it also refers to all of my media files? Where are my media files and project files?

Don't forget, I have not checked my projects, I work on and moved in the new SSD.
My project files and media are going to go on the F: drive, which is a card Sandisk Ultra II 480 GB SSD.

Future projects will make their way.
As you can see I put my video Previews and Audio previews the G: drive, which is the other

SSD 480 GB SanDisk Ultra II.

Auto backup project, I guess that would be fine in the future as well as project.

    Scratch Disk.jpg

Now After Effects: Should which drive I set my Cache Disk too given my configuration?

    After Effects.jpg

Last part of this equation is export of Final project: when I export final, I manually select where I want. Which

Drive would give me the faster export? Size of exports nor more than 2 GB of the file. (mainly goes on youtube)

So I know that it is a wall of text and images, just try to give all the information.
If anyone has any input of the best configuration, it would be great.

I have two SSD Sandisk Plus 120 GB drives, with a slow writing of about 180 MB/s speed
Those that would be used in RAID0 of my Sandisk Ultra II died.

I was the same person who responded to your other post. I'll add my 2cents, but I hope others will come along to give their advice as well.

Another option of disk configuration, if your motherboard allows, is to make 2 raids.

    (C) Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD (OS and programs)

    (D) DVD player

    (D) 2xSandisk more SSD 120 GB raid-0 (total 240 gb) (cache and previews)

    (E :)) 2xSandisk Ultra II 480 GB raid-0 (960 GB total) (media and projects))

    (F) external usb case or dock to hold the WD Black 1 TB (backups and storage)

There should always be a backup of the project and the media on any drive, but raid 0 can add more risk, it must be ensured that these backups are fact/available.

any project car record must be recorded in a different drive ongoing projects are being recorded. This is part of the idea of auto-enregistre is an automatic backup. its also been recommended to save the project as a copy, manually to another drive at least once a day, that auto-enregistre may fail or become corrupted (bugs).

After that the effects disk cache setting should go to the cache drive, that we call cache & previews. disk cache should be used in dynamic link when you render and replace in the first, after that, if you need space, you can empty the cache in AE to release this space.

the parameter memory in first: I don't think it means a lot, but I've seen people have to experiment only when getting poor performance. Looks like some had to put to memory or half of what was the total system, for first to work well. You may notice a difference in changing its settings.

the captured video and audio areas captured that I think are only for new media captured/recorded directly in the first. I don't think that it applies to as rendered files and replace the video or audio.

exports, your processor is only 4 core and depending on the amount of work the cpu must do during export, the performance of readers may not have any effect. If its export quickly, you can export to any drive other than the drive media/projects. If you're looking at the windows task manager and see cpu at 50-75% and think it's a disk it slows down, chances are his righteous inefficiencies in the low usage of the processor responsible for adobe software.
