SSD in Satellite P300-175

Hello

I'll buy a car of State solite for my P300-175. My motherboard supports now the problem is that I do not know which kind of SATA. Does anyone know if the P300-175 a SATA150 and SATA300? If it is SATA150 and my ssd is a SATA300 (like the Intel X 25 M G2), should be much slower that it is used in SATA300? If anyone has some experience with this, please respond.

Thanks in advance, Jefferson

Not the answer but can give you some advice. I have a P500 with a Toshiba MK5055GSX drive. The specification of that which is a Serial ATA revision 2.6 / ATA - 8 material interface and a maximum data transfer rate of 3 GB/s. However, the rate of transfer via the PCI Express bus is the important factor, and for my laptop, it is reported that 2.5 Gb/s, BUT I don't know if it's real or theoretical maximum - if you want to know, then this is the rate reported by a program of PC Wizard 2010 (free download from cpuid.com) as the speed of PCI Express bus connection

    Hello!

I don't really have an idea, but it would be interesting if you have the same problem with an external keyboard (USB).

Maybe it's a hardware problem and the keyboard is defective but for this contact the local ASP and ask for help. These technicians will help you solve this problem.

  • Satellite P300 - 13 X (PSPC4E-02E00JG3) - supports the SSD?

    Hello

I want to buy an SSD for my Toshiba Satellite P300 - 13 X (PSPC4E-02E00JG3). I opened the back panel and saw that he has a blank for a second hard drive.
I want to put a SSD in this space. My laptop is supports the SSDS?

    Do you think that the Kingston SSD now 100 - SV100S2N / 64G is compatible? (http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/PartsInfo.asp?root=uk&LinkBack=http :// www.kingston.com/ukroot&ktcpartno=SV100S2N/64G)

    Thank you.

    Sorin

    Hey Sorin,

Satellite P300 supports already SATA interface t so I see a problem for SSDS. They have the same normal hard drives SATA interface and the same size, if you buy a 2.5.

As you can see in other threads, many users already did a SSD upgrade on different laptops models and it always worked correctly.

The Kingston drive you mentioned that you should work fine. Generally all brands SSD and HDD works there is no compatibility issues, or you must buy a certain brand. So just buy your favorite one ;)

  • How to restore Vista on old Satellite P300?

    Sorry it's a long.

I bought a new P70 to replace my old P300 that came with Vista and I now want to give it a new facility for the children to use. The problem is that I had partitioned the disk and had tested the betta and the version RC1 of Windows 7 before its release and he also had XP, now I can't get on the recovery drive holding the 0 key and did not have the repair option on the splash screen advanced when using the F12 key. I know that the Recovery partition is still there because I saw it when using a disk partitioning tool before you make changes and I'm deleting it.

After what I read I think that drive hidden (EISA Configuration) that holds the BCD, stored options for the 0 key and the menu key F12. I made backup discs when I arrived at the origin of the laptop and checked well records, but when I went to use it, they have been declared as corrupt so the only other option I had was the images I made with another program but cannot boot from the disc I made and I guess it's because of SATA drivers Win 7 could not be started or until what I injected drivers, just do not remember how I got them in the disk imaging.

So, if anyone knows where the option for the 0 key is stored, and I assume it's in the BCD himself, someone know how to recover it or re - write? The other option I can think is how the recovery partition is enabled and try to do otherwise. My oldest son has a more recent P300, is it possible to copy the BCD and its player hidden files to start mine? The other thing is when you restore from the recovery partition you need a Windows product key or is already stored on the recovery partition because I can never remember having seen one and I'm not one for my new P70.

    Any ideas?

After these modifications and tests with your P300, you will not be able to use the HARD drive recovery facility more. This works if the laptop has only factory settings.

Now, there's only one way to install the original use of Vista recovery disks. I m afraid you didn't create these disks, right?

Anyway, Satellite P300 is well known to me and my brother has the same machine. We updated with new SSD and installed Win7 on it. It works like a rocket. So my advice to you is to install Win7 on this machine. All the necessary drivers, the tools and the utilities that you can find on the download page of Toshiba - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

If you need help with it let me know.
One more thing: the product key at the bottom belongs to the original version of Vista and it cannot be used for activation Win7.

  • Cannot start from the CD in my Satellite P300-23F

    Hello

I'm trying to fix the old laptop from my brother. It's a Toshiba satellite p300-23f. The laptop did not work well, so he bought another. I think he might have a problem with the HARD drive, but I'm not sure about this and want to try to format the HARD drive and reinstall the operating system.

When I start from the disc HARD I have no problem, insiders of OS normally, and I can 'use' laptop. The problem is when I try to boot from the OS CD. I get this message "Media test failure, check cable". I know the CD works, because recently I have instaled the operating system with this CD on another computer. I know that the CD player (not sure if it is called like this, but I think you understand what I mean) also works very well, because I tried different CD and it worked.

I've tried pressing F12 and boot from CD it and also tried to change the BIOS and put the CD in the first place, but it does not work.

No idea what's going on? Is it possible to make it work?

    Stand by.
When Windows is completely loaded, you can use the optical disk drive and it reads all CDs and DVDs?
When you put your Windows Windows installation disc can see the contents of the disc in Windows Explorer?

Maybe you can use the CD but not DVD. check it out please.

  • My Satellite P300 forget sometimes load the video driver

My laptop (Satellite P300) sometimes "forget" to start to load the videodriver.
If the resolution is by default in the Windows startup screen.
No matter what version of Windows I have, all the drivers are up to date.

When I restart for the most part, the problem is solved...

To be honest I never heard of something like that. in recent years, my brother has P300. In the beginning he used with original Vista and 2 years its P300 works with Win7. No problem at all.

I don't know which OS you are using now, but have you tried reinstalling the video driver (display)?
I also hope that you are using driver on Toshiba download page.

  • Install Windows 8 on Satellite P300

As usual rushed in and installed Windows 8 on satellite P300. What error - slow, loss of functionality. How to get back to Vista was preinstalled or is there a way I can fix it to run windows 8.
Processor Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU [email protected] 2.4 GHz, 4.00 (2.99 usable) GB RAM 32-bit system, x 64-based processor.

Satellite P300 is plu laptop comes with Vista, but also supported for Win7. Unfortunately, it is not supported for Win8 so, in my opinion, there is no sense to install Win8 on it.

Win7 works perfectly on this machine so if possible use Win7 on it. in case you want to use original Vista, you must install recovery using recovery DVD image. This way only to s to have factory settings once again.

The question is: do you have the recovery disk?

  • Satellite P300-161 - graphic upgrade

Hello. The graphics maintains not on my Toshiba Satellite P300-161 of the same after a clean reinstall of Windows. I'm looking to replace the graphics card from ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3470 (which is not soldered on the motherboard).

Can I rather upgrade or get a new card?

I'm asking this is because I had trouble finding exactly the same everywhere! Thanks in advance.

GPU upgrade is not supported so either you exchange the card or you have to search entire motherboard.

  • Satellite P300 - Drive necessary explanations

    Hello

Just trying to understand what is on my records. I have Satellite P300-150 with 500 GB. It has 4 partitions (I think) with a hidden.

C: drive is (Vista 117 GB capacity) however its filled up quite quickly so I started saving drive D (232 GB of local disk capacity) which had nothing about it. There is no drive E (but under Advanced System properties, I found a labeled disc WINRE... is this drive E?) Then walk F (data capacity 113 gb with 5 GB used) it's enigmatic whats me... If the mysterious E Drive is the WINRE so what are data on the F drive?

Why have I not 4 discs? The reason I ask, this is drive C is high filling... so I do the right thing to save on drive D instead?

When the D drive is full does that mean I can't use Drive F because there are 5 GB of mysterious data out there?

When I bought the laptop with 500 GB... I thought there would be a drive with Vista and one for all my things. Instead I have not the slightest idea what drives to use and not use.

On a separate issue... the Fn cards flash not working properly I have to start their manually whenever I want to show them on the screen. I used to be able to connect the laptop to TV, and then click HDMI icon and the output on the TV screen. Now I have to restart flash cards before you plug into TV or HDMI out icon does not work. I tried to disable at startup flash cards and then by restarting, but they still won't turn on automatically.

  • How to replace the keyboard on Satellite P300 - 20H

    Hello!

I just bought a replacemant for my Toshiba Satellite P300 - 20H keyboard and I was wondering how to actually replace it?

Any response would be greatly apreciated,

    Thank you, Sophie x

Video on [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQaBRJoH-M0] (2mins in) you "lever" off the coast of the plastic band that runs across the top of the keyboard and remove the 2 screws. I expect that the connector of the ribbon cable must be of the type where a hinged band (diff color to the body of the connector) holds the cable in place. It appears if the cable is fired and you push it when the cable is inserted. There is normally a line on the cable to show that you have completely inserted the cable and the cable is inserted instead. -Examine the original cable until you remove

  • Satellite P300 with XP hangs at the screen "starting windows."

I recently bought the Satellite P300 - 01 and had XP installed on it. I have fixed all the problems except for the question, that I'm going to start.

When I turn on the laptop it loads everything flashes on the login screen and then hangs at 'starting windows' screen If I turn it off and then again about three times this issue finally arrives with the login screen. There was an ASP.NET account, and after the BIOS update that he disappeared, but the problem is still there? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    > There was an ASP.NET account, and he disappeared after the update of the BIOS
The whole story is really strange

I put t know how you installed XP on this laptop and why an ASP.NET account was created or exist, but in your case I would recommend doing so again.
Then install all service packs, hotfixes and patches of the XP!

Simply show words on XP on P300.
A friend of mine has installed XP on a P300 yesterday too and the XP works well
    Everything works fine!
