SSD on MPB early 2011 (13 inches) slow write speed

Hey all,.

I installed an SSD Crucial of MX300 in my MPB 2011 (13 inches). I get that I have probably will not hit the read/write 510/510, said the player, but right now I get only a writing speed of 240 vs a reading of 470.

Any ideas on why it's so slow?

Thank you.

What is it connected to internally? If we replace the optical drive, then it may be because it's a 3 Gb/s bus rather than the primary drive SATA 6 GB/s bus connects to.

Do you have your repartition and reformat the SSD drive before using it? It is not unusual to see some write speeds slower than reading speeds. The MX300 is a new economic model that may be slower than expected in real use.

  • MBP early 2011 start running slow

    Hello

I use MBP early 2011, i7 2.2 Ghz, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB HDD (573 GB free). Its pretty slow operation and initialize the time is more than 3 minutes. I ran EtreCheck and the result is the following.

Several times in a day, MBP stops responding for a few minutes. It was everything beautiful, until it has been upgraded to El Capitan.

Battery back up also seems to be about 2 hours with WiFi on and charging takes about 8 to 9 hours for a full charge. I use the genuine Apple magsafe adapter.

    Help, please. Thanks in advance.

  • MPB early 2011 and Windows 10 perfect work!

    Dear all,

I would like to inform you all that I own a MBP E2011 and Windows 10 running with no problems. I have my MBP for 2011 and start with a Boot Camp Partition with Windows 7... After a few years, it has been improved to 8.1 and even 10 windows worked. Recently, my HARD drive has been damaged and it seemed that it was impossible to reinstall Windwos 10.

Over the years, I have replaced a malfunctioning optical drive with a hard drive, and very recently I bought a second SSD and installed Windows 10 as a second operating system (SSD1: El Capitan;) SSD2: Windows 10).

    It took me almost 1 week solving together unnecessary complex method, because I met a number of errors by setting up a Bootcamp partition that is appropriate;

-due to the missing optical drive, bootcamp should be changed to allow you to boot from USB. (I needed to do this because I used a bootable USB key, but if you have the work of optical drive, you can

The original Bootcamp in El Capitan is unable to create a partition on the disk (Windows cannot be installed due to the wrong table formatting of disk and partition. Windows 10 requires of TPG, and it is not performed correctly. After fixing the price at the end of the windows 10 installation, an error has occurred: Windows cannot change the boot configuration "I tried referred questions on the forums and nothing worked.»

    -

So I would like to share my solution to avoid that your productivity is affected in the same way as mine...

    -Download the original Win10.iso

-Download the drivers from bootcamp support (I used the boot camp for this wizard, you need this because the wifi does not work after bootin in windows, the first time).

I forgot all of the Bootcamp Assistant program. I put my new SSD in a computer windows laptop, downloaded WIndows 10 ISO original key and activation. I made a bootable USB key which is containing an EFI bootloader. I installed Windows on the SSD and after 10 (before making any personal changes in the installation of Windows 10 I turned off the laptop and put the SSD in my MBP.)

-J' I started directly in Windows and finalized the installation and settings of Windows

-J' installed the bootcamp drivers (the only driver who did not was the audio drivers realtek; via the Task Manager, you can close it and the rest of the drivers will be installed correctly.) (audio working properly).

-After, I activated my Windows 10

-Everything works perfectly... keyboard, brightness... and put into operation in about 8 seconds...

So... to avoid a lot of problems with the new Windows on your Mac. .. Instead, above. I took me more then 35 hours to install everything the official way and to be honest, I can't really fond way that this process has become so terrible complicated...

Good luck with the creation of your 'Boot Camp'

  • MBP Pro early 2011 starts after reset of the SCM

So for the last two days my MBP early 2011 has abnormally slow fonctionnee. I use it mainly for music production with logic. For the last few days it has been slow and the sound was clipping out of my mbox in the smallest size of buffer when it the value never done before. I'm running el Capitan with a processor 2 GHz and 16 GB of RAM. I'm still about 134 left Go of the 500 original, it came with. So I decided today to restart it since he turned slowly and while doing that I have reset the SMC and since then it won't restart. It stays on the screen with the loading bar almost full load and just gets stuck. I hear the hard drive by clicking on, but I don't know what to do. I fix a genius bar appointment for Thursday but I need my MBP now so far here and I'm afraid of what they tell me. Any Suggestions guy? Thanks in advance.

Got it working guys. Did a check and found some malware on it. Remove malware and all works well.

  • These SSD options would be compatible with my Early 2011 13 inch Macbook pro?

    Hello

My mac I'm really slow so I decided to buy an SSD, but I can't be sure if it is compatible with my mac. SSDS are super expensive in my country, I just have to be sure before buying.

    TECHNICAL DATA:

Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5

    RAM: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 3000

    13-inch, early 2011

    My SSD options:

    MX300 crucial 250 GB

    Samsung 750 EVO 250 GB

    Samsung 750 EVO 120 GB

If you want a definitive answer, contact the technical support from the manufacturer.  The general rule is, if the SSD is identical to a HARD SATA 2.5 form factor ", it will work in your MBP.

  • Early 2011 MBP 15 "dual SSD - lost with boot camp edition

    Hello community!

I lost my mind with boot camp troubleshooting during the last week. This is going to be confused reading, but I'm afraid I got worse... So please try to face me.

Starting point - of course I can install Windows 10 on my MBP 2011 early!

    Material

Early 2011 MBP 15 "with Intel HD 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6750M

and the optical drive, replaced by an other SSD with a caddy

Of course, I didn't have an optical drive on the spot so I realized that I need to install to get the option to boot from USB - I did find. I managed to make a bootable USB from. ISO with UNETBOOTIN. First of all, I got score of huge problems with that I finally managed to Dodge with diskpart - software on Windows Installer USB after NVRAM reset before each attempt to install with CMD + Option + P + R, I had to also remove the OSX SSD during the installation of VICTORY for everything the world some boring as Windows could not update the configuration to start the computer. Unable to continue installation -problem.

    After all:

-> I managed to install WIN10 on my MBP education

    -> A lot of festivities fun! < 3

-> After installing the bootcamp drivers all active windows went to "invisible desktop on the left" (I closed the other workstations...) where I managed to lift one of the windows on the central office with lucky and "move" action (I have no idea...)

-> after reboot apparently drivers Intel HD 3000 went haywire and I got black screen on black with details in black (black screen Uni)

Conclusion: I try Windows 8.1 (pro) because at least he is supported by my Mac AND it has same installation and should work.

At one point I tried to use my old drive via USB to install Windows 7 and 8.1 pro

-> PROBLEM CDBOOT: couldn't find the BOOTMGR

-> I moved along back USB and WIN8.1

8.1 Windows Pro was installed easily, with the same procedure. When running boot camp display drivers turns black during the "Intel - graphic" installation period. I can confirmed that starting mode safe mode when the screen works, but I can't install Catalyst drivers-> so I can not play games that was the only reason for dual boot. In addition, there is no sound. So lack of drivers: no picture, no sound.

There... I think I forgot to say something. I was hoping just that if someone could help me with this problem. I lose my head here. I have not really direction where to go next, but I have a few options I can try after that I understand my morale of my troops.

    1. Remove my boot OS X SSD, switch my SSD Windows instead of him and put my Superdrive. So I would basically just install windows. Earlier, I had 8 windows work via the DVD and bootcamp.
    2. Try to play with the drivers on Win8.1 more
    3. Reinstall windows. There may be something wrong with my. ISO or USB?
    4. Delete the EFI to correct CDBOOT?

    Thank you in advance!

You must use Bootcamp Assistant for everything, including the form/partitioning implementation and the removal of partitions...

I would like to reformat the second SSD (on which should be installed W10) with diskUtility. Then start bootcampassistant on SSD1 and do all this.

  • My MacBook Pro early 2011 startup is extremely slow

My Macbook Pro has now become very slow in recent years to the point that it takes about 2-3 minutes at the start and another 3 minutes for the Finder to start and bar + apps become available and be able to use (otherwise fury beach ball!).

I always held up-to-date and think that the issue could have begun with a patch somewhere that might be too heavy on such a machine in (?) "old". I don't remember not to what update started... probably just after Snow Leopard or Lion.

I did everything advised on the web, disk check, PRAM reset, remove and free on the hard disk, the cache of the system of cleaning with Terminal... I then used EtreCheck and the result was "below average", emphasizing 17 errors on the disk. What does that mean?? Should I reinstall the OS or should I replace the HDD and redo the whole machine? If one of these, how do I go about it for this laptop, if that's possible?

    Thank you!!!

Make a backup, best 2 separated on 2 discs. Start of recovery volume (command - R on a restart, or hold down the option/Alt during a restart and select the Volume of recovery). Run disk utility, then select first aid. Reformat the hard disk using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS extended (journaled), then click on the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the operating system. Use Wizard settings to restore your backup.

  • Heating - slow and freezing macbook pro early 2011 el capitan

Hello! I have a 2011 mac book pro, a few months from now on, he started to over heat a lot (it burns) and it is SUPER slow... sometimes it gets frozen (most with safari)

MacBook Pro (13 inch, early 2011)

    2.3 GHz Intel Core i5

    RAM 8GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

    El capitan 10.11.3 IOS (15 d 21)

disk storage 168 GB free (320 GB SATA drive)

I run clean my mac and repair disk permissions

    It only worsens.

    An advise please?

    Thank you very much!!

'CleanMyMac' is a scam and a frequent cause of instability and poor performance. Depending on which version you have, the developer's instructions may not completely uninstall. Please follow these instructions, then do as below.

Back up all data before proceeding.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select this option:

    /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac3.Agent.plist

Right-click or Ctrl-click on the highlighted line and select

Services ▹ reveal in Finder (or just to reveal)

the contextual menu.*, a file can open with a selected item. If so, move the selected item to the trash. You may be prompted for administrator login password.

    Repeat with this line:

    /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac3.Agent

Restart the computer and empty the trash.

You may also delete one or more of these elements in the same way:

    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac.helperTool.plist
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac.volumeWatcher.plist
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac3.Scheduler.plist

Never install "CleanMyMac" or something like that.

    * If you do not see the item context menu copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

  • I want to update my HDD sata SSD? XPS 15 (L502X, early 2011)

    Hi people

I want to update my HDD sata SSD in Dell XPS 15 (L502X, Early 2011, computer laptop). Please suggest which SSD support my laptop.

Please check attached picture of the HARD drive.

    Thank you

    Hi Rajdel,

    New SSD should work fine.

  • updated my mac pro early 2011 book now really running hot

I wanted from the upgrade of my mac book pro early 2011 I7 quad core 8 G ram 2T HDD

So I finally did. I like it, but now my mac runs hot 116 degrees. the fans are running.

boot time has also more he takes more time.

I used my mac pro for dj book I also do a video mixer.

run final cut pro x no problem

I also do recording on a DAW. never had any problems so far.

I understand is difficult to test on all models is a solution for this.

I thought he was going to improve performance, I don't see it seems to take more time during startup.

How about this circle just turn around.

I know that you guys try.

I hope hear from you soon.

    Thank you

Run programs of type DJ on an Early 2011 MacBook Pro, while also on El Capitan put quite a strain on the machine. Programs of DJ using just the music will pull a use much more memory and CPU than normal, not to mention video mixing as well. That being said, you use a USB jack in a box/audio mixer (like SL3 or Pioneer DJM900) or you use a DJ controller?

I do not think that 116 degrees is too abnormally warm for the type of stress you put on the machine. I would possibly consider a SSD drive. Not only will improve performance, but because you will have parts in SSD, as you would in a standard hard drive, the machine should run cooler.

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Run the Console application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages

in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

List of newspapers seen ▹ display

in the menu at the top of the screen bar.

Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Highlight date back to the time you noted above.

Select the messages entered since then until the end of the episode, or until they begin to repeat, whichever comes first.

Copy messages to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.

The journal contains a large amount of information, almost all this is useless to solve any particular problem. When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

  • My MacBookPro early 2011 screen 13inch goes black

I am having trouble with my early 2011 MacBook Pro.  It does a few things.  When I open files or Chrome applications, the window becomes black for a bit before loading of the real thing, that I open.  In addition, sometimes the whole screen just disappears and becomes completely black.  I turned off the screen saver and sleep out to ensure that it is not that.  I will work on things and then boom, it's all black.  So I try to hit enter/return and nothing or I try to hit the power button to see if that would help and nothing.  He can go black for a few seconds up to about a minute, and he then turns back to normal.  I recently downloaded CleanMyMac own upward things 3 because I had only 8 GB of space left.  I'm now 50GB available.  But the black screen started before that.  My computer is also running very slow.  CleanMyMac shows he turns at about 8 to 17%.  I don't know how to solve either.  I moved as much as I can on my external hard drive.  I really need help, to know why he's not black.  If she's dying how can I save it to my external hard drive?  Time Machine does not work on my hard drive because he says that it is not logged.  But I can log the external HD because I already have stuff on it.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  I can't buy a new computer right now so I need to figure out how to fix it.

    Thanks for the help.

  • Install El Capitan on MacBook Pro early 2011 OS 10.7.5

    Hello!

My friend has a MacBook Pro running OS 10.7.5 (early 2011). The computer is awfully slow, far worse than my laptop with similar specs that has had upgrades of the OS of the routine.

Apple says you can upgrade directly to El Capitan of 10.7, but my question to you is, do you think it would be better to:

    (a) to keep the computer as-is and upgrade to El Capitan via the App Store

    (b) factory restore the original OS and then move on to El Capitan via the App Store

    (c) charge El Capitan on an external drive and then install El Capitan to the laptop from the external drive

    (d) another method

    Thanks a ton!

(I should have noted - there is not any number of files or applications on the computer that must be kept - just a few photos, music and documents that are already stored on an external drive)
