stand workstation Z1

my workstation z1 stand lays flat monitor for maintenance, or extends a bit for the display of the monitor, but while until it does'nt seem to block in an upright position. It will quickly return to the level of the table because the wight of the monitor it grows downwards. I wouldn't be able to set the height of the screen and switch to my prefereences and make them hold? I don't see any use for this purpose in textbooks of service or how videos.

Hello proznik

The z1 HP workstation is a commercial product. I suggest asking your question on the Forum Commercial from HP for a better chance to find an answer.

  • The stand of the icon is gray

What can I do to get the Stand-By icon is displayed so I can select? I have a Dell E520, but recently he had an accident and I always try to do all of this work to the right. I tried to update my video drivers, but nothing works. I have an another dell that it works as it should. I checked the powercfg on this file and it shows hibernation & stand by works. It is difficult to determine which driver is the video player, if I could I'd copy on the computer I have a problem with a copy on a CD. If no on knows how to know which driver is for that please let me know.

Lets try to uninstall the driver completely and reinstall. I see the MiniToolBox report that is registered in Add or remove programs like Intel(r) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver. Double-click it to uninstall. Reset. Install again. Maybe let this update of the driver of Dell do?
Try to activate the two graphics cards and see if code 10 goes and standby is is more gray.
If you still have problems, the only other thing I can think is that pilots really need to be installed in any particular order. I never believed it but it's worth a shot. You must uninstall all the drivers Microsoft not in Device Manager, or if there is an entry for some in Add or remove programs, this is the best way.
Do not remove the following or you may not be able to start!
Intel (r) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller
It is under SCSI and RAID controllers.
You will have not an internet connection once you have deleted the driver for the CARD, so make sure that you have the Dell Drivers CD or download all of Product Support for Dimension E520. Reference Dell U.S. and reinstall in the correct order.
Be sure to let me know how it goes. Maybe my belief was wrong.
I have no other ideas so if you need help, I suggest you post in the Dell forums. They have Dell specialists there. I'm far from a. The link is below.
  • I just bought a HP Win 7 (unfortunately) workstation running. My previous computer ran HP XP. Windows will not let me install my fonts.

Don't get me wrong, the HP workstation is great, it's Windows, I just can't stand.

I tried to double click on the fonts to install and Windows returns an error message. I tried dragging the fonts in Windows 7 fonts folder and it gives me an error message. I downloaded AFM to PFM because Windows says I need the PFM files, but when I run the AFM to PFM, it returns the message that the PFM files are already there.

I bought a laptop Sony a couple of years ago with Vista and fell on this problem. I despised Vista so I sold the Sony and remained with XP on my HP Workstation. In fact, I was so p - o'ed on Vista, I went out and bought a Mac Pro and Mac Book Pro, as I intend to dump Windows altogether. Unfortunately, the vast majority of my work required of Windows programs.

Given that, I decided to go for the new HP workstation because I had heard horror stories less on Win 7. I was then going to sell both of my Macs.

Unfortunately, it was a BIG mistake because now I'm stuck with a work station $3,400 that I can't use to work on my documents InDesign, Illustrator and Word that have all of the fonts I was running XP (and which run WITHOUT problem on my Mac).

It is a problem of Windows, and when I tried to contact MS supports, I was directed to HP since Win 7 is pre-installed on my workstation.

I just got the phone with HP Technology Support and they say they can't help because even if it IS a WINDOWS PROBLEM, they do not support software related issues.

I even tried to copy the font files to the Directory Windows on my old PC, nothing helps.

I'm willing to put this thing on eBay so I can't empty MS FOR GOOD!

Any help would be LARGELY APPRECIATED1

  • Install ESXi/ESX/Vsphere on a single isolated standalone workstation

In the hardware compatibility list, I noticed that the HP Z840 workstation is compatible with ESXi/ESX/Vsphere. In fact, the HP Z840 is the only HP computer that is not a server and still included in this list of compatibility.

For the moment, I have a unique stand-alone HP Z820 workstation.

If I decide to upgrade to a new computer HP Z840 independent, I will be able to install, configure and use ESXi/ESX/Vsphere on it and install top one, two or more systems of guest OS designed to run simultaneously, without having to connect this workstation Z840 even temporarily on another computer, separate console or network?

There are two types of virtualization-

    1 bare Metal virtualization-

ESXi is a virtualization software, have you install directly on the physical server from bare metal hardware. ESXi is very compact.

Then to manage ESXi host and create the virtual machine on ESXi host, you need a system more to run vSphere Client or use client Host.

ESXi directly access physical resources, which improve the performance of virtual machines.

    2 hosted virtualization-

VMware workstation is a hosted type virtualization software, install you it on any system Windows or Linux and then create virtual machine on it.

Windows underlying system provides material resources to virtual machines created in workstation that's why you get no good performance of the VM as compare to ESXi

Today VMware workstation 12 perform as well, if you simply create VMS to test or purpose LAB VMware workstation will also work.

For good performance, then you must ESXi host at least a Client system to manage ESXi and VMs.

  • Network card for ESXi 5.5 on 10 Workstation

I have a comments 5.5 ESXi hypervisor running on a 5.5 ESXi hypervisor host. I used vCenter Standalone Converter 5.5.2 to convert the hypervisor of comments to a VMWare Workstation VM (v10).

Now the network card is not recognized by the hypervisor of comments ESXI 5.5 running in workstation 10. Specifically, the error is "no compatible network adapter found. For a list of the cards taken in charge, please consult the Hardware Compatibility Guide (HCG) products'. Networking on the hypervisor of comments on the ESXi 5.5 running hypervisor host works very well.

I tried to remove the adapter and recreate in my computer, and it didn't is not that many settings in VMWare Workstation for network cards so I don't know what I could do wrong.

    Notes:

    • I was originally the guest ESXi works normally on 10 Workstation (put in a network all worked) and I actually used the stand-alone converter to implement on the ESXi host in the first place. So from my point of view I basically just downloaded and then downloaded again and the network card has stopped working - but I'm sure it's more complicated than that.
    • I added vhv.enable = "true" in the vmx file twice after the conversion of the virtual machine.
    • I enabled 'Virtualiser EPT-x/Intel VT or AMD-V/IVR' in the settings of the processor.
    • The prompt that is running on the ESXi ESXi host, I had the network configured to be promiscuous, but I don't think I can do it again on my computer one because the ESXi guest cannot yet see the NIC at this stage.

I believe that the default ethernet to guestOS adapter type 'other' is vLance.  Open the settings of the virtual machine and try to change the operating system invited to 'ESXi 5.x.

  • P2V in VMware workstation 10

I am on Windows 8 and have installed VMware workstation 10 and have several virtual machines.

I need low grade of the PC to windows 7 and thought I could make a VM to install windows 8, so I still have a copy (a virtual machine) my data and existing installed programs.

But thought I might have a problem doing a P2V on PC Windows 8 which is also where VMware Workstation is installed. VMware workstation in the virtual P2V machine would be uninstall because it does not need the virtual machine.

Is it possible to do a P2V to the PC running VMware workstation?

I install VMware Vcenter Converter Standalone or I have a backup, Acronis that I could use.

    What are my options.

    Thanks Rainey

Is it possible to do a P2V to the PC running VMware workstation?

Yes, it's possible... you will need to install VMware vCenter Converter Standalone.

  • VMWare Workstation 10.0.1 Crash/Hang up

Have a situation where VMWare Workstation 10.0.1 crashes all virtual machines and can not even then stop my physical machine itself

Seems pretty consistent that he does whenever I start a couple of virtual machines.  Can't even kill the process - start another instance of the workstation and that crashes too

My machine is running Server 2008 R2 Enterprise.  I created a dump file, but it is 446 MB so don't think that I will be uploading it not anytime soon!

    Help!

Had similar problems in 10.0, but 10.0.1 looks even worse :-(  Think I'm going to be downgraded - perhaps even to 9.0.2 which was strong on the same machine.  Really hope that I didn't not lose my money upgrading to 10

OK, final update on this - in the end it came down to problem of disk on the host controller.  After a little research I found that many people have problems with Marvell SATA controllers (9230 in my case) where the SSD is attached.  It seems that there are problems with power management features that cause SSDS hang effectively making you into a kind of energy saving mode.

After many changes of configuration and test in an attempt to move things forward the Marvell controller, I ended up spending my SSD (which hosts the VM readers) works at an Intel controller - in fact, I removed all the RAID config, including standard hard drives of the Marvell controller and run just stand-alone drives off as now (that I ended up having to rebuild RAID1 arrays often enough).

So now everything works smoothly and no hanging of VMWare Workstation, no matter how many VMS are run/updated... Happy Days!

So I would say that if you see (Reset of the device, \Device\RaidPort1, has been issued) or similar in your event logs (obviously for Windows only) and then check if you use a Marvell SATA controller - if you are away from your drives (especially the SSDs) to another controller

  • Inside the VM, determine if it is ESX or workstation

    Hello

Is it possible by program within a virtual machine if it runs from WMWare Workstation or ESX?

I'm not really familiar with Visual Studio, and I understand that only the 32-bit Windows C compiler supports inline assembly.  If you use the Windows 64-bit compiler, you may need to use a stand-alone assembler.  The basic idea is:

load the register eax with 0x564D5868%

    load with 10% ecx register

    load the registry % edx with 0 x 5658

Run the statement 'in %EAX, dx.

Then watch % ecx register.  A value of 2 indicates ESX and a value of 4 indicates the workstation.

  • If I install 9 Workstation on a host W7U 64-bit... (Solved)

And install VMware Workstation 9 on my E:\ By car (apps), I lose access to the workstation help documentation?

When I installed VMware Player 5 on my E:\ By car (apps), I did.  Help button did nothing when I clicked it.  No documentation of aid and no error message. Helped my friend, Player 5 button works but the product has installed in its default location on the C:\ drive.

I think try Workstation 9 (trial version) because she seems to have several disk management tools than Player 5 does.  And if all goes well, the Player 5 9 Workstation will work better than the stand-alone version.

Can someone confirm that Workstation 9 works correctly when installed in places that are not on its default C:\ drive?

    Thank you...

    Jack

P.S. I find myself being one of these people who believes that the OS volume/partition/disk should contain only the operating system and drivers.  It takes work to remove most of the crap of MS (Code released as Production) of my Windows folder, but my OS works better, a little faster and rarely (if ever) BSOD.

OTOH, every now and then I find a software that does not know how to install correctly when installed at any place other than its default value.  I think VMware Player 5 is one of those products.  So rather than the stroke of face or curse, I'll use the publicly accepted euphemism, "How primitive!" and let him go to that...

Solution: It turns out that the culprit was NOT a Player 5 but an add-on Firefox named «Ad-Block 2.1.2»  The latter blocked as potential VMware help screens 'malware '.  Solve you the problem in if the option 'allow non intrusive advertisements' is enabled.  It is under the Preferences of the filter button.

And thank you to everyone for their help... I was looking for this disk manager program, continuum.  Looks like I'll be forced to purchase workstation because Player 5 has not.  Naturally, this does not encourage me to buy more VMware products.

    > And if all goes well, the Player 5 9 Workstation will work better than the stand-alone version.

I doubt so - Workstation and VMplayer are the same product.
With all of the files, it was released as workstation - with a subset of the same files, it is released under VMplayer.

All the files that have been selected for the release of VMplayer is debatable – IMHO vmware - vdiskmanager.exe and vmnetcfg.exe are a must have and should also be included in VMplayer.
That would also prevent the user from running Workstation without license as VMplayer pro

    > Can anyone confirm that Workstation 9 works correctly when installed in places that are not on its default C:\ drive? »

Yes - I often install paths like R:\vm\vmware and my Windows LiveCD running in workstation to use paths like that.

So far I have seen no problems with that. Only problem is the USB stuff because it goes into "common program files" without offering a choice.
If you want to change that - prepare for manual labor...

For the question of aid... inside the installation dir aid lies in a searchable collection of html files - to see - just doubleclick the file index.html

  • Storage model - ESX - workstation use

    Hello

After a few tips of knowledge in the following area.

We have a half of our people by using the ESX v4 based VMs and about half using Workstation v7.1.

The idea for us strategy, it's if they could share common templates.

One idea would be to have an ESX storage area which is also a normal network file share.

Now, I know that VMware Workstation can import machines virtual/templates and stand-alone converter can do similar.

    Both involve the network copy.

Now the ESX for workstation path seems clear, what a virtual machine or a template created on a workstation?

I did not see an ESX import, although there is import export of the data store.

The ESX will manage a model/VM Workstation v7.1 if it were on its data store?

Anyone else had this experience trying to maximum benefits between and Dept. of pain?

Part of the difficulties in this configuration "datastore" mixture is thin issues / think commissioning, IDE / SCSI disks and expand the shrinkage.

(that is, FDI is treated different from SCSI, but images SCSI are not very good for cloning of images of physical computers)

Ideally, you would like your store of "templates" and must be size min then expanded when used as real VMs.

I have not found any article a Ko or help with success and simply covering options and roadblocks in these areas.

    Thank you

    I do not recommend thick...

Thin and drop thick are supported.

But on both workstation thin and drop thick can also be a single file, or split in two on several files... THIS latest version does not work on ESX/ESXi

I think the answer is that you cannot import SUSE 11 VM to ESX 3.5 but I hope that this is NOT the case that I really really really need this virtual machine published in our ESX infrastructure. If this method will not work is there other options?

Do not use the plugin.  It does not yet support Linux.  Although this error may occur, the import process should work again as the previous system was a virtual machine.

If you are using the standalone version, treat the source like other / workstation, point to the VMX.  You can get an error, that's fine.  It must still allow you to process the import of ESX.

Last solution... Turn on the virtual machine and use the stand-alone converter to target IP address of the SUSE operating system inside the guest.  It treats like physics (step 1) and imports to ESX as usual.

    Kind regards

  • Workstation 7, nested VM and ESX 4

    Hi new to communities.

I have read a load of articles here and google about it, but is seeking clarification on this issue.

I've set up a test to study for my VCP 4 lab.

I have install 2 x 4 ESX servers, installed on the workstation 7, they work fine, but VMware won't let me set Virtulisation here at equipment and always new chages software if I change the settings within parameters of workstations or in the Config file.

This causes the problem I can not run a VM nested inside the ESX Server.

I have Virtulisation enabled in bios and the ESX servers work perfectly and the two start very quickly.

Is there a work around / difficulty of obtaining external VM to use hardware Virtulisation? This is only a test lab and purley to test. So am just looking for a blow dry / patch that could get this to work.

I tried many changes for both interiors and external VM files including the line back door of the monitor in the config file, but without success.
