Standard USB Host Controller 43 error code

Original title: Code 43, w/PnP problems? Microsoft has disabled my backup storage device (he called unknown device) because these problems have been detected. Standard USB host controller. I need to access the files stored there.

How can I access files stored on the device, if Microsoft does not detect?  My documents are lost?  What can I do else?  Thank you!

Hey anewme,

What is the number and model of your computer and the storage device?

In addition to the above suggestion, try these too.

1. check if the device works in another computer to see if you encounter the same problem. If you have the same problem, there could be a problem with the unit. If you believe that your device is defective, contact the manufacturer.

2. before Windows can find and install a driver for your USB device, it must be able to correctly identify the device. Sometimes, you might have a USB device that Windows does not recognize and which came with a disc containing a driver. In this case, you can look for a driver on the device manufacturer's Web site. You can often download drivers from the support of these sites section. Reference: update drivers: recommended links

3. download and install all the drivers for your motherboard. See how it goes.

This should be it.

Kind regards

Improved my Standard PCI to USB Host Controllers & Standard OpenHCD USB host controller drivers are no longer works. My USB ports have stopped working completely.

I did not anything out of the ordinary except for an update of the computer, but I tried the system restore and it still does not fix my problem. I suggested either a new reinstall of Windows or to "press F11 on startup to restore my computer to factory settings.

I tried deactivating and reactivating. That did not work. The only thing I have not tried also the factory reset setting is reinstall my chipset, but I don't know how or what chipset I have, I just know it's AMD and ATI.

My computer is a HP Compaq Presario CQ61-420US with 3 GB of RAM, AMD Athlon II Dual Core processor, I have Windows 7 Home Premum 64-bit.

I have tried everything that I could, even went in safe mode, uninstall and re-install my drivers, but it didn't work. I really need to get this problem solved, I really need my USB ports and I don't know what to do.

    Try the following:

Start by creating a System Restore Point.

Double click on the UpperFilters and remove usbfilter > OK

    Then, restart the computer.

The reference to the usbfilter is probably not valid and removing wil restore the default UpperFilters which is empty.

    Hi, Imac_T-dot,

Exactly what is the problem with the driver?

In Device Manager, is there a yellow question mark, or an exclamation point?  Code error message?

This is a new issue, or there is since childbirth?

If it occurred recently, I suggest you try going back to a restore point before the show.

This "might" be a power problem, even if it's not the most common cause.

9F is probably a driver issue. Antivirus/antispyware/security programs can also cause these problems.
Have you added the recent devices or the updated drivers - do not forget to check in Windows updates of

or cable and even a weak power supply.

This error means that a driver does not properly support the power state. Check in Control Panel-

Try it now. If the computer still blue screens thinks that video driver. Otherwise think the card NETWORK, Wifi, sound, or...

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on
Driver update (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right
Click on - uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    Hi Drake,

Review the devices USB connected to your PC and make sure that there is not a USB 1.x device connected to the same USB HUB (front or rear).  USB 1.x devices will cause the USB HUB at the bottom shift to 1.x speeds.

You have an old PC (2002), it is possible that your PC does not have a USB HUB 2.0.  In this case, you need to install a USB PCI adapter card.
