I have a hp photosmart C5550, when I try to scan to start the scan of the computer says, how can I do?

That article and the instructions are for a different printer and software. You should see 'Manage Scan to Computer' under the 'Actions of Scaner. If you get an error or messages let me know. I noticed you did another post where you mention Windows 7 which is your operating system?

Most often when a device does not work, it is because the driver is damaged. Re-install a new copy should help -
Can't scan from the computer/6500 a Plus Officejet
My Officejet 6500 has more cannot see my computer (via USB) to scan to it. I ran the scan HP Diagnostics and it says that the TWAIN software is used by another process and restart my computer. In fact, the scan feature never worked to my computer. Or has the computer/Telec. However, I can print from my computer if the connection is good. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled several times now. No one knows what is the TWAIN software and how I can maybe that it is used by another program?
I'm having the same problem and if you want to help HP you pay for it. They must wear these problems on purpose to get extra fees. Some wouild call this flight! Are there out there who have founjd one alternative, then the scanner in pitching in the gargage and never buy HP again?

Scan from the computer, not the Printer Wizard
I reinstalled the drivers for full features. I can't use the printer to scan to my office, I am only able to use the Printer Wizard. I was able to scan like this before and for some reason any during the last six months, I can't do it from the printer. It's annoying not to have two options.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that it will be a lot of time. I don't think that the printer is the cause. To test the feature, you are able to make a copy? If so, the problem is corruption in the computer as a suspect. If all else fails, you should be able to go back using the HP9800 driver for printing.
Use this message as a guideline:
- To assign another driver to print in Windows 8 (Windows 8 and 10 are similar)

I try to use the scan to computer option. The scanner sends me this turn on my computer and I don't have the software and it can not find anywhere...
This site has me fired everwhere and in circles. The assistance Center has only notified me that I am not under warranty... I know that! How can I get the software? That's all I want.../cry

You can download and install the software COMPLETE features of HP printing for your operating system:Please select your correct printer model, Win 10 people system and FULL of features before you download and install software.
Once you have downloaded and installed the software, FULL of features, you will be able to print and scan.How to scan to computer
To scan from printer to computer, you need to install the printing software full of features first.
Once you have installed the software,
1. click the printer (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP printer Assistant.
2. in the menu analyze, there is a 'manage Scan to Computer', click on that.
3. make sure that 'enable' the Scan of the computer. Also check the tab "Automatically start Scan of the computer when I connect Windows" is to check if you want to have this feature permanently. (an example is shown below)Hope that helps.

HP Deskjet 6700 Premium: Scan of the computer no longer works
When I run a scan of my printer to the computer, I get an error message that says that there is no connection, or that the application of scanning the computer is currently in use.
I can Scanner normally when you use the HP Scan SW initiated from my computer. I can Scanner normally the printer to a memory device to the printer.
The HP Print & Scan Doctor SW says that everything is OK and day.
Any ideas?

Thank you for using the HP Forums.YUO must ensure that you have the FULL features software installed first and then turn on computer scanning.
If you have not installed the software FULL of features, the following resources will help you:

Once you have installed the software:
1. click the printer (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP printer Assistant.
2. in the menu analyze, there is a 'manage Scan to Computer', click on that.
3 make sure you have "Enable" Scan of the computer. Also, make sure that the tab "automatically start Scan of the computer when I connect Windows" is checked if you want to perpetuate this feature. (the following video will show you how)
Scan to computerIf it does not, we suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the software features FULL.

Office Jet 7612: Scan of the computer does not work after you win 10 improvement
One of my clients has an officejet 7612 and has improved to win 10 to win 8 and lost the "Scan to PC" features themselves the printer he used for years to create his PDF files.
Print and scan drivers seem to work to scan and print from the computer to the printer, but the printer software that was authorized to create PDF and JPEG of the scanner and send them to the computer doesn't seem to work.
Is there any solution for this?
Y at - it another way easy to make PDF files or is this feature lost with the upgrade?

In the new screen tick the Automatic start scan of the computer...

Printer all-in-one Photosmart D110A. Printer works OK to computer when printing black and white or in color. But when using the scan or copy feature the printer does a solid black page. This just started recently. If I try to scan a document from the computer, the analysis that results is black Uni. I guess that it is a hardware problem. If this is correct, how can I get it fixed. Who should I call at HP for parts? Can I fix it myself or the printer fatally broken and that I should buy a new printer?

It sounds like the scanner lamp turns off. You can't really repair or replace just the scanner lamp. The way to resolve this would be to replace the entire printer. Check your warranty here. Win 7 x 64-OfficeJet 7500 a - Scan of the computer disappeared from the HP utility
I noticed recently that the Scan of the computer, as well as the other options are passed from the HP utility screen. The screen was black with options of 10 or more. Now it's gray with only 4 options. I uninstalled, reinstalled and restarted my computer and it won't.
I have two 7500 s in office and both do the same thing on several machines Win 7 64. It used to work perfectly.
Anyone know what's happened and how to recover all the features?

The problem occurs because of the use of the outdated software.
Uninstall folder on the start menu of the printer software.
Download and install the latest version of the software below and your must retrieve all the features:

I have a new 6700 Officejet connected with the USB cable to the computer. (Windows XP) Printing from the computer works perfectly. Sannen works onl + y from time to time. I think I know where banhien is trying to guide you. I'll explain his instructions in more detail below.
1. make sure you are on the desktop view.
2. double-click on the icon on your desktop that resembles your printer.
3. under the section titled scan, you should see "Manage Scan to Computer".
4. click on "Manage the Scan to Computer" and a window that's going to Enable.
5. click on activate to activate computer scanning.
If the icon is not on the desktop, or does not work, you may uninstall and reinstall the printer. If you need to do this, be sure to use the latest version of the software following the link. Hope this helps to clear things up a bit.

I see that Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is not compatible with Windows 7 which could be the cause of this problem:

Not able to scan from the printer to my computer control panel using the HP Photosmart 5510

I recently bought the new HP Photosmart 5510 all in one - and I am not able to scan from my printer to my computer.
I am however able to scan by launching the scan of the computer. I talked to HP customer earlier this evening and we ran printing + scan doctor and can't find any problems.
I am running Windows 7-64 bit and that you have installed my wireless printer using the Installation CD supplied with the printer today.
I could not finish troubleshooting with the technician that I talked to because I had to go to work. The person that I spoke with proposed possibly the full functionality of software downloaded from the hp.com site, which I'm happy to do, but I think that it is useless, because I have the CD of installation here. (The rep that I talked to was very nice, but I prefer not to have to uninstall and reinstall if it is not necessary)
Because as I mentioned above, everything works perfectly and I am able to scan - but not directly from the printer itself.
When I try to scan from my printer to my computer an error message appears on the control panel of the printer indicating that: there is no scan destination options of analysis chosen / no..
However, I can't find anywhere with my HP software where I could add / make sure that the destinations were there. (As I could on my other printers. (IE. By the solution Center)
This printer does not appear to be a solution center that I could find and the scanner installed with the CD icon doesn't give me any options regarding changing the settings of the parser
I wonder:
1. the Hp Photosmart 5510 does not have the capacity to scan from the printer control panel?
2 OR the CD installation provided with my printer only has the base drivers as the agent of tech support suggested? Which means to scan from my printer I need to download drivers for your hp Web site?
3. or is the problem because of something else entirely?

Follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall the printer.
1. open Control Panel
2. click on uninstall a program
3 uninstall the Photosmart 6510 in the list
4 restart your computer
5. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

6 download the drivers and full software functionality, and then reinstall the printer.

Scanning from the Office Jet 8500 Pro-Computer not connected
When I try to scan from my printer Office Jet 8500 Pro first to the computer, I get a message that "no computer found", even though I am able to print from the computer to the printer. Before that, I was getting a different error message when it DOES not recognize the printer, LCD list needs to be updated. I have tried everything I know to update this list, but who has never worked or the other. Help!

What is the brand and model of the scanner?
Do you get any error messages? If Yes, what is the full error message?
This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:
Corrupted driver.
Hardware problem.
Method 1:
I suggest you to run hardware store and check if it helps.(a) press the Windows keyboard.
(b) Troubleshooting type in the search box and press enter.
(c) click on material and audio.(d) click on hardware and devices and follow the on-screen instructions.
Method 2:
