Start the option "Repair your computer" leads to a black screen

Hi, my OS is upward, and I need help. I did no hardware or software changes to the computer at all. I stopped him one night and you wake up the next morning to start up, it brings me to a screen "Failed to start. Two options are available, 'Launch Startup Repair' and 'Start Windows normally'.

Launch Windows normally brings me to an earring, blue screen, which reads, "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME".

Choose the second option starts normal with loading files and such, and then a black screen with a mouse pointer from windows.

Yet once, I did nothing to the hardware or software, so if someone could help me, it would be well appreciated.

Thank you.

If it's a desktop pc, replace battery MB, manual reading. In addition, on pc start-up, press the F8 key,

Select normal-safe-mode or cmd. Open Windows cmd, type: Sfc/scannow once thru, type:

  • Satellite L500 - how to restore the menu "repair your computer"?

    Hello world

I have a laptop Toshiba L500, Yestaday I tried to restore the system to the factory settings (by pressing F8 at startup high and choose "repair your computer"). In the system has been installed almost, but at a stage of installation drivers to read memory cards and similar - there was a failure (the blue screen and need down) - after that - Windows 7 is not loaded. parsing errors (by means using a floppy disk to another Windows 7 install) says that the registry is damaged, cannot repair.

but the main problem - when you press F8 at startup upward - there is no MORE menu 'Repair your computer' (!) . It is impossible to start Windows 7 predefined. So there's the hidden sector containing Windows predefined (I saw when loading a disc of hatch - Total order could start - and hidden sector was visible). All files in drive recovery HARD necessary are also available.

How to restore the menu "repair your computer"? or how it is possible to start Windows predefined without pressing F8?

    > Hidden article exists, I saw it, there are all the files recovery HARD drive (which was in the laptop after buying), but I can't begin to recover Windows because I don't have menu not 'repair your computer' to start the laptop. He disappeared...
Of course, the flag in the Advanced Start menu seems to be deleted and therefore drive recovery HARD option isn't available anymore.
    Probably the partition has changed.

But in case of HARD drive recovery files are still available on the recovery partition, you can try to create the USB support of own recovery using of workaround:

  • Pavilion dv6 i3 with Window 7 64-bit. To start the HP logo appears, then I get a black screen

I have a Pavilion dv6 i3 with Window 7 64-bit. To start the HP logo appears, then I get a black screen with a blinking cursor. I ran all the tests start and everything this past. I tried all F8, F9, F10, F11, recovery options with no luck. I tried to start with the ERD Window 7 64 bit I created when I install the laptop. Nothing... I did it with all the disconnected device. No luck. I'm looking for all the options until I re - install windows. I started with the Windows 7 recovery DVD and it reads, but I cancelled the process because it will reformat the hard drive and I expect to work around all the hassels of having settings to reinstall the software, etc.. Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks for the reply. I already tried these steps. I created a bootable floppy that I can get the data on the hard drive and am trying to restore windows to the recpvery of the DVD system that I ordered with the computer. Thank you

  • Cannot perform a system recovery option "repair your computer".

I have an ADVENT PC with preinstalled vista. I had problems with my computer and it won't start in safe mode. I really want to do a destructive recovery of the entire system, but my computer won't let me even do.

I start my computer and press F8. I select "repair your computer". At this point, according to my vista manual, I should get a selection menu language and the "Microsoft Windows start repair Environment. Instead, I get the windows logo, and then the log in screen. But instead of the usual choice of two user accounts, I have one option "Other user" very boring, with user name and password required. I tried my regular username and password, but it does not work. It says invalid or unable to connect at this time.

So what's happening? Is there a way I can get into the system recovery options?

Thank you, but finally I solved this problem by using a DVD I had been recommended to do when I got the recovery computer.

  • Satellite L300 - no option 'repair your computer' after pressing F8

    Hi all

I started my Satellite L300, press F8 and it brings up the menu "Advanced Boot Options",

    Help, please.

  • "Repair your computer" option missing

    Hello

I recently bought an Inspiron notebook. It came with four partitions on the disk:

    -Small utility Dell (hidden)

    -10 GB Dell Recovery

-Main OS Partition (NTFS - OS drive)

    -2.5 GB Partition (hidden) MediaDirect

As soon as I got my hands in the system, I copied the recovery on an external hard drive partition and delete the original from the hard drive of the laptop. When I rebooted, vista bootloader shows now two startup options:

-The first boots into Windows normally

-The second gives a «winload.exe» error message missing

So I inserted vista dvd in the drive and used the recovery option to repair the boot loader. This deleted the entry of falty, but as a result, removed the "Repair your computer" option in the F8 boot menu. Now I can't restore factory settings even place after regaining the recovery partition is original.

How to restore the F8 menu so that it shows the option "repair your computer"?

I had a problem with my Satellite L655 (PSK1JE). I need to restore my factory settings (http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm), but F8 does not work.
Where can I find the option "repair my computer"?

How to find this option is clearly described in the document of Toshiba.

Question is: what have you changed on your laptop? Please note: this option works on laptops with factory settings ONLY.

If you have own OS this option no longer available.

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

You can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    Hello

I have an Inspiron 531 desktop computer. I'm looking to restore the hard drive to the factory installed state. However,.
the option that you get when you press F8 to 'Repair your computer' access Dell recovery partition is missing.  The recovery partition is still on the hard drive, but I have no way to access it without this option.

  • 'Repair your computer' won't work on Satellite L30 - 101

When I press F8 togo in this menu which gives the safe mode and other things, when I click on repair your computer, it won't work, it just asks me to power off the computer.
    How can I fix it.

The problem started after I installed Winutilities that eventually delete all my photos but also installed programs showing as empty when I click on start at the bottom left. If I try to open Windows Media for example, it says its empty (since Winutilities deleted my stuff) so I tried to use repair your computer and that no longer works

    Help as im desperate

    Hello

Maybe your system is confusing upward. You said, you have installed some software stuff (Winutilities) and possibly this affected your system.

If you have a Vista disc (not the recovery disk Toshiba), you can start Notepad using this disc. During initialization, you should be able to choose a repair console providing an option that might help to fix and repair the system.

If this is not enough, then you will need to install the new system :(
