Start Up disk is full

I have a problem that my book mac 2012 mid air 4g memory / 1.7 GHz / Intel Core i5 which is limited in space. When I review the color bar which occupies more space on my pc, it shows that 'other' is using 60 GB. I'm guessing that these are files on my hard drive. Does anyone have a recommendation on the other drive on my macbook, I can look to move my files without transferring all the files on my mac to an external hard drive? Also, I don't know if there is an easier way to find what files on my mac would cause the problem of too much space. I have deleted many files already on my list of files icloud and made sure my bin file downloads and basket are empty, but does not the same color bar still says I use 60 GB under the heading of 'other '. What could be "another"? It would be a good reason to have my mac connected?

Although there are things you can do, plan on creating a archive you want to keep

You can erase or trash copies original once you've done the duplicates.

There are locked items that will not leave you empty the trash to get rid of, because they can

• OS X Tips: where's my disk space?

http://www.pondini.org/OSX/diskspace.html

To see what is using the space & where it, you can use a utility such as OmiDiskSweeper.

That said, he worked with as old an OS X like Mt Lion 10.8. + I see there is a link to download here:

https://www.OmniGroup.com/more/

There used to be a free version of what size (on an older OS X I have a version later) but

now it would cost you. Be wary of 'cleaning up' by the use of any application to help performance

given that the use of these can kill your OS X and make it difficult, if not impossible to recover lost data.

Do not use an application or a cleanup utility to make your OS X works better. You could see what

size and where the files are then choosing to back up items that are just what you have installed.

The elements that you need to run an installer to put in the system, usually require their uninstall program

to remove all of the hidden parts. An element that you dragged in the Applications folder may be partially

be removed by dragging it to the trash. Later, when you are sure you want that he disappeared, empty garbage.

Backup your computer system and your files in one archive computer, not only of Time Machine,

before changing the content and character of the creature you've built. He may not like you after.

I would try starting from OS X Recovery and have OS X utilities/utility disk, repair disk and repair

• With the help of disk utility to check or repair disks - Apple Support

If you are near a store Apple with Genius (official store) you can call in advance

or use the online booking method, to fix an appointment for their staff to help solve this problem.

Always backup, in addition to an archive, it's not on the original OS X boot volume in your Mac.

{However, my unit drive external HDD attached double backup is sitting in a box in a cupboard.}

Maybe someone will see your thread & offer other ideas. When I started this, no one else is.

Good luck & happy computing!

Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full"and displays the error code: 0 x 80007114.  (I have a new drive hard with enough space) Outlook Express always open well and functioning normally.  The message mentions and how to fix the problem?  Thank you, Rick

Jump here (nothing Bruce suggested is false), I did a search and found this old article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/245419), which indicates that there is a bad entry under the identity key in the registry (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for background).  So if it's a big problem, you can do the steps suggested in this article and that will fix it.  Or if you have just one account, then backup your settings and the identity key and then delete the identity key and then start OE and it will establish a new, and you can then set up your account again, and then import the messages from the older directory.  But it does not indicate the major corruption, so you can just ignore it.

  • iMac won't turn. Startup disk is full. TDM won't let me edit.

iMac won't turn. Startup disk is full. TDM won't let me edit.

My iMac turns off 10 seconds after the start to the top. I tried repair disk running, to no avail. What is happening is because my boot drive is full, off the 500 GB I partitioned in mac, 493,63 GB is taken up. I bought a thunderbolt cable to access the TOC on my mac book, and I have access to my files now. The problem is that I can only copy files. Authorities say I read and write permissions. When I start my host computer, it says "you can still open or copy the files on the disk, but you cannot save changes to the files on the disc. Back up the disk and reformat it as soon as you can. "I'm trying to copy all my files on this computer and remove what I don't want copies, then reinstall OSX on my iMac. The problem is that some files are native to all OSX, so it would prevent me from copying the files. For example, if I want to copy my applications folder, it stops to copy once it reached the app store, because it cannot copy that. It is a problem because when it comes to the library, there are small files in there that I don't know if I can copy, then it stops at the copy and I end up with half of my files and I don't know what I need and what I have.

Everything you need to copy the disk, then start the iMac in recovery (command-R) mode. Wipe the drive and reinstall OS X from the recovery console.

Then download and run Omni DiskSweeper. It can show you the exact size and location of all your files. It will be the inventory of your disc from files that occupy more space. • Impossible to initialize photoshop zero disks are full

So I just got a new PC with Windows 8.1.  I get this message that says: unable to initialize photoshop because "scratch disks" is full.  Can someone throw some step-by-step guides on how to solve this problem.  I guess that's because I have a 2 TB drive.  But I'm not clear on the fix for this and do not want to lose all my data.

Try the following. Hold Down CTRL + ALT + keys a whild them hold start Photoshop. Which should cause Photoshop to make appear the Scratch Disk dialog box.  Be sure to set some discs which has free space.

  • Photoshop does not open because it says that the scratch disk is full

How can I fix it?  The program will not open when I start it.  I start to open and said so immediately scratch disk is full and then closes the program.  How can I fix it?

Without information system, we cannot tell you what exactly is going on. Usuall means what it says - your disks are full or at least not accessible to Photoshop. You could try holding down Ctrl + Alt + shift when you start the program to reset prerequisite information and to define a new location, you should really look into your cleaning system and make room for otehrwise. There are a few tips interspersed here:

  • Scratch / startup disk is full?

I am new to Mac and Psalm please forgive my ignoring.

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of cores: 2

(By heart) L2 Cache: 256 KB

    L3 Cache: 3 MB

    Memory: 4 GB

    Photoshop CS5

PS always tells me that my startup disk is full or my drive to work is complete. I have two ext HD, one for TM and other media. There is no music, photos or music on my internal hard drive. I checked my memory using Omnidisksweeper and it says I have 3 GB of data in my file drag? What I read on the messageboards I don't think clear the drag performs a righteous Act? Nervous about what whether the erasure. I read that I could make scripts using the Terminal app? But I need some clarification first, don't know if it will do something? Should I still point zero PS to my other post HD?

I've been obsessed on it for 3 days now. I can't work until I have fix this. Any help is so appreciated.

Once you got this message, have you checked to see how much space was left on the disk of your work?

What was the specific message?  The operating system can also give you warnings on the diskette of starting being full (and it means that it - MacOS blocks easily when the startup disk is full)

And, once again, * exactly * where were you doing?  Which tool? (is not a tool of "square")  What size paper?  What bit depth? How many layers?

If you have used the size of file incorrect or wrong settings on something like the crop tool - it is easy to create huge documents that fill the disk to work without realizing it.

  • If time machine is incremental how it removes previous versions when the disk is full, without breaking the chain, so do not be able to restore all changes since the first full file

If time machine is incremental how it removes previous versions when the disk is full, without breaking the chain, so do not be able to restore the file with any changes made since the full backup first file...

If the TM drive storage is full TM automatically deletes the version the oldest files for the new incremental backups can be made. Thus, in this case you cannot restore the versions that TM deleted because it takes more storage.

My Mac Book Air continuously shows a message that the boot disk is full.  I checked and I don't have a lot of pictures or files, I use iCloud for almost everything and so I don't know what I should delete to free up space.  Has anyone else had a similar message?

In case you're not already aware, if you have the Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud drive turned on, everything you add to iCloud reader will have a local copy on your Mac.
