Starter DSLR

I'm looking to move to a digital SLR. Keep in mind, I'm NEW... be easy on me hehe =) I am crossed between some T3, T3i and SL1. The t3 are a few years older, so I don't know if I would be wise to buy an older model of the camera. For the money, I would like something that I will be able to keep for a few years with it being obsolete. That's where I am interested in the SL1 for newer technology/hardware. Also would you buy a refurbished unit? Canon site had some very good deals on the t3 and the t3i with standard lens 18-55.

I shoot mainly landscapes, portraits and nature.

I certainly would not hesitate to buy a reconditioned gun unit.

The T3 (without the "i" suffix) is the lowest price-point Canon entry-level DSLR.  It is the most basic.  They have now the T5 (also without the "i") replaces the T3 to the entry level of the entry level.

The T3i (with the suffix "i") was the body of entry-level high-end Canon in the year when it was introduced... then replaced the T4i, and finally the T5i.   But the T3i, T5i, and T4i using what is essentially the same Canon 18 MP sensor.  Also... the SL1 uses the Canon 18 MP sensor as well.

Don't expect a huge difference in picture between the T3i, T4i (which is stopped because she was almost identical to the T5i), T5i and SL1.    The differences will be in-camera features body.

The 60 d and now the new 70 d are mid range bodies, but since the 70 d is released, you can get a pretty good price on the 60 d (if it's in your budget).  The body is much more pleasant than the bodies of the rebels.  The 60 d also uses this same Canon 18 MP sensor.  The mid range body are slightly larger and have a somewhat more similar to the pro bodies control layout because they have a top LCD (in addition to the back screen) that displays more information and also has several instant access buttons to change the most commonly used parameters (ISO, focus, drive mode mode, etc.) and in addition to the control wheel main on the front (near the shutter button) There is also a large rear dial that can be controlled through your thumb (very comfortably).  The mid range bodies have certain characteristics of pro cameras while removing yet the characteristics of the entry level bodies (for example 'scene' modes of shooting are still there - so that on a pro body, those who are left.)

  • Question about an A500 Sony DSLR

I recently bought a used Sony A500 DSLR. With the three my lens and camera are in optical viewfinder mode. When you move the camera the lens focuses while you move. It is not my finger on the shutter button. The minute I put it in mode live view, it stops. Is this normal?

    Carl

Carl: What you describe is probably because the Eye-Start autofocus (AF) option is enabled in the device menu. This option uses the sensors of the eyepiece located just below the viewfinder. It is designed to automatically activate the viewfinder and start implementing autofocus as soon as you put your eyes up to her the viewfinder. If you hold the camera quite close to your body, however, the sensors of the eyepiece can be detect your body and causing the viewfinder and the AF to activate. Rotation of the Eye-Start AF in the menu will prevent this.

  • I have a Sony DSLR-A300 and I can't get an external flash to work on the shoe mount.

My problem started when I realized that I had a seated old flash Achiever TZ250 around that I used to use on my old film camera Ricoh KR-5 DSLR. Obviously, the mount was different, so I bought a hot shoe adapter, but the flash does not fire. I thought that even if he was still working very well on the old SLR, that he was probably too old an era Flash to work on the new system of claw so I ordered TT520 Speedlite Flash online that I thought would be more consistent on the claw adapter. As soon as it arrived I unpacked and tried, but to my great disappointment I do nothing that can make the fire upwards. It tests fine, but it doesn't fire at all. Is there something I don't? Is it something with this camera I'm missing? Help, please.

    Kind regards

    Andrew

Amanda, that I had a look that link and not found very relevant because it is not related to my model. I got from a claw of replacement adapter and I still can't get the flash fires. It's as if there is no power going to the Mount of the brand at all. The camera would be defective?

  • First DSLR to shoot

    Hey everybody,

I am looking for a DSLR for filming purposes. I recently looked at reviews and video footages to see what is best for me. Obviously a 5 d mark II or III would be the best choice but unfrtunately I can't afford it.

I also checked the 60 d that seems incredible because of the LCD that is adjustable, but it has a lower image quality, the 6 d which also has a full frame like the 5 d sensor. But the 60 d is cheaper.

    What one do you?

I used the 5 d Mark II, 5 d Mark III and T3i for professional productions. I have not used the 60 d or 7 d.  But, to start, you can not go wrong with the T3i, T5i. The video is more than acceptable, and most of the viewers can't really tell the difference between the 5 d Mark II and the T5i, not to mention the 60 d. Now, the 5 D Mark III is in another category altogether! The 5 d Mark III is by far the best for DSLR video, but it's a bit expensive for your first camera.

I would acquire the T5i (don't remember the number of non-US model) and a few glasses of good. You can make the difference between the T5i, 60 d and 7 d on some good non-goals that you can use as you upgrade the instances in the future. Spend your money on lenses first, then bodies.  Your lenses will serve you much longer than your body!

Once you know that a DSLR meet your shooting requirements (they are second cameras first fixed-frame cameras and video), you can sell your T5i or use it as a backup/second camera when you buy a 5 d Mark III or another Canon DSLR. Keep in mind that there are significant limitations with all DSLRs when it comes to the video and make sure you can live with these limitations.

The main advantage for the T5i video is the folding LCD. You will be shooting from different angles (up or down), and you can set the screen to compose your shot. Otherwise, you will need to an external monitor, platform or other gear relatively expensive to properly compose your shots.

A previous poster mentioned Panasonic GH3 and is a great camera for video, but the range of products is not as broad or deep as Canon. I think that your decision to say with the range of Canon products is good. Good luck in your shot!

  • Canon EOS Rebel DSLR t5 Record Time

I found several sites Web says that the device must record up to 30 minutes of video footage before cutting. I also found that it depends on the memory card.

In my camera, I have a 32 GB card, but my camera record of 11-12 minutes (time weird I know, but I have timed to make sure that... He usually cuts around 11.54 or 11.58). I was wondering if there was a way for me to get my camera to record the appropriate amount of time. The memory card is empty, no photos or videos.

    Any help is appritiated.

Oh... is also questionable. Does anyone know if this particular model can autofocus WHILE shooting video (hold something up to the camera and the lens focuses on this point, then when you delete the item it focuses on you), and is there a way to make the background of blurry video, once more, during the filming?

    Thank you once again.

A single video clip would be limited by three things:

    (1) the card is formatted with FAT32 file system so that it can be widely read by any PC, Mac, Linux, computer etc.  But this file system has a size limit of 4 GB.  No single file cannot be larger than that.  You would stop and start a new recording so that it records to a second file.

    (2) if the card is 4 GB of free space on it... It stops as soon as possible (of course).

    (3) even if you set a very low video resolution so that she will not fill 4 GB in 30 minutes, it stops always at 30 minutes.  This is because in some countries, 'video' cameras are charged at a different rate from that of the photographic cameras.  By an international treaty, cameras are allowed to record video clips... and will not be tariffed as of the cameras 'video' as long as these clips may not exceed 30 minutes.  It is the purpose of the CAP of 30 minutes.

    Autofocus:

Regarding the autofocus during video... the 70 D (and I think that now the 7 d II) have special technology on the sensor that allows the continuous autofocus while shooting video.  This feature is available in some Canon models that have "Dual Pixel CMOS AF".

For other cameras, the sensor must use a different method of focus and it's some "guess".  It's "contrast AF detection.  Imagine taking a picture of a code bar... white background with strong black stripes.  In theory, so focused with precision, each pixel should be 'black' or 'white '.  And on the edge of a stripe, you should have a 'black' pixel adjacent to a 'white' pixel (this is a difference of extremely high contrast between adjacent pixels).  Now imagine you deliberately focus the camera.   You now have a pixel 'black', followed by several pixels that are progressively more light and lighter shades of gray... until you arrive finally at the pixel 'white '.  It's a "low contrast" difference between adjacent pixels, and it is low because the image is blurry.

This means that if you can maximize the difference in contrast between adjacent pixels in some areas of the framework, you nailed focus.

The "problem" with this system, it's that if it's blurred, he has no idea what to do to improve the development.  He can try mobile focus outward, re - sample the image and see if things improved.  Otherwise, it can run the focus inward and try again.  Once it is on the direction in which is better, it can start then refine the focus until he nails finally update the point.   But this system causes what is called "hunting at home" where you see visually the camera tries to focus while you record video - not good.

Pro videographers determine before their major focus.  For example if they want to go to the theme 1 theme 2 in a scene, imagine putting a piece of tape around the ring with a felt market and development to mark the position of development for question 1 and another brand for about 2.  When THEY move the focus, they go directly between positions and no one watches the video sees everything "hunt."

To avoid the 'hunting', the camera does not have auto-focus during video recording continuously.  You can press the button in focus on the back (it's usually the asterisk (*) key but I do not have a T5) and this will require the camera to auto-focus at this time (but you'll see this.)

If you need real continuous AF during video then you would like to use a real camcorder OR you want a model that supports the feature as D 70.

    Do blurred backgrounds:

This is determined by the "depth of field" which is derived from a combination of (1) the focal length of the lens, (2) the current aperture setting, (3) the distance between the subject and (4) the physical size of the sensor of the camera.

    (1) the longer focal length will reduce the total depth of the field.  For example, a 200mm lens will have a depth of field than a 20mm lens.  This means that longer lenses can generate a greater amount of background blur as wide lenses (and do not generate very large lenses almost no blur either.)

    (2) using the values low f-stop (the aperture value) creates a narrow depth of field.  f stops such as f/2.8, f/2, f/1.4 work well... high f-stops as f/11, f/16, f/22 generate very large depth of field, which means that they do not have much that would be blurry or off discussion.

    (3) the depth of field is naturally broader if the distance between the subject is far away.  Close subjects get very shallow depth of field.  In other words, if you focus on a subject that is actually very close... While the background is very far away, "narrow" depth of field on your narrow topic will mean that the background is well outside the update and will be very blurred.

    (4) finally (and this isn't anything you can change), the size of the sensor of the effects on the technical level also the depth of field.  Have your camera, a sensor of APS - C size, is big enough and will have no problem producing the blur you want... given the right report low-f / d and long focal length.  Only, I mention this because the smaller sensors (for example those on point & shoot cameras or camera-phones) must have their crop factor multiplied by the ratio f / d to determine a ratio f / d effective.  When she the crop factor is huge (very small sensors), this means that, even with a 'real' focal extremely low, the report f / d 'effective' is so high that the camera cannot generate the background blur.  Don't worry-I only speak because one of the reasons people like the look of DSLR images is due to this background blur this point & devices and phones cannot generate and that they are unable to generate the effect is because their sensors are too small.

When you put all this together, you want to:

    (a) a long focal length (e.g. 85mm... ... of 100 mm or greater) with (b) a low f-ratio / d (for example f/2.8 or less... a telephoto lens like a 55-250 mm f/3.5-5.6 reached f/5.6 as this is the lowest possible report f / d when it is simply of to halfway across the range.)  f/5.6 is very low so you won't get a background blur hard.)  And (c) you'd want your subject to be located close to the camera and you would be wan further background.  You do not see what effect (or certainly not a lot of it) If you put your right subject against a background such as a brick wall... Pull the topics forward and in the background.

The "quality" of the blur (not only the force) is described as its "bokeh".  Some lenses produce a quality much more beautiful than the others.  Multiple aperture blades is an important factor, as well as the way "rounded up" the aperture of the lens is due to the shape of the blades.  But the final appearance so influence other optical qualities.  Usually more expensive than glass... more look.

  • Custom creation read for DSLR (i.e. Canon 70 d) for use w/Lumetri?

Does anyone have any advice or experiences on the tools used, or how to create custom LUTs for Canon turned 70 d w/relatively neutral picture style or similar? For me, it is not so much that I want to reinvent a wheel as much as simply understand how to play with the experience of the creation of such a LUT to see not only how can I do, but what kind of results/comfort I can achieve.

A little history: I'm relatively new to images of DSLR shooting (no photos but video). I use a Canon 70 d.

I recently learned a little about some of the popular photo there models which allow to draw in relatively neutral sequences which apparently has some advantages in post (but not always). My understanding is that the output of 8 bits in many DSLRs, including the 70 d restrict the dynamic range that can be represented for some types of shooting, more specifically producing jpg files in the device, as well as. MOV, which requires treatment with loss in camera, where the style of photo (in terms of Canon) allows to define what color ranges to focus on and other minutiae, all designed to describe what is important to remember in the limited space of a DSLR. I guess this allows video capture in camera more effectively use space of 8 bits for color definitions. I guess lut helps solve some of this use when ingestion.

I have learned quite a bit of this with quick searches some time ago, but have a very general understanding, enough to produce correct results without even using a LUT in the post, but it would be nice to know more, or at least be pointed in some good directions.

Oh, after looking on the net and learning a few styles of popular image and LUTs etc, I read a very interesting post useful somewhere I think that in this forum... someone with extensive experience in this area pointed to someone who shot so-called video diary on a DSLR is not true newspaper and that the amateur filmmakers who consider it are often something cinema that is not all he did to be... who, for example, reduce the saturation at the time of the shooting on a DSLR can produce apparently-looking pictures on the newspaper, but it certainly loses 'chroma', which cannot be recovered despite what the hype on such people. I found it instructive but is also puzzled by how many are apparently very happy shooting more neutral DSLR footage benefits w / apparent in post... the final essential I found myself with: it really depends on all the situation where if we know the style for the scene, and the post READ or whatnot and it works, great... but what a style shooting time (w/post LUT) is no guarantee not any kind of cinematic look (or any another look) for all scenes/situations and some or many of the cases, can guarantee that you will be without color because you have loaded the camera so that he too gives up while thinking about a correction station can recovery that has lost... and he can't.

So it's kind of image w/REFLEX designs, taken from neutral view (fake log), where I'm posting corrections including LUTs... curious to hear the thoughts or create discussion.

    SHOOTING

First thing to know about shooting with most all current & past DSLR, is that you are working with 8-bit codecs. Essentially, 4:2:0 and you can look for a more detailed explanation elsewhere. There are a few that can make 10 bits (4:2:2) and of course, high platforms range pro sometimes shoot 16 bits (4:4:4). GH4 Panny for example has a 10-bit mode. IF you have an external recorder that can handle the work, it can turn off the 10-bit files. But it will not save them on the internal drive.

Well... I worked with a little media GH4 Panny, photographed myself... and it's a bit "thicker" than the 8 bits of the camera (as much as the maneuverability), but... not as much as I expected. There are differences between the actual quality of the files from different cameras that do not appear to be explained by any details of the specifications. (And I do not work with the GH4.) I wanted more than 10 bits of the GH4, actually. I'm hoping to get the eventual GH5.

Example... of the images fixed cameras. My D200 was a 'generation' earlier that my D3... and that D3 is only a 12.2 megapixels, compared to the 10.2 of the D200. Do just a bit of 'post processing' by changing the contrast, saturation/color changes and the bad 'broken' file of the D200. Artifacts, banding, macro - blocking it's RAW files. Go above ISO 1600? Oh my... No.

The D3? Same 'depth' of files, just a little more pixels, right? VERY different files... mangle these things in all directions, practically bend them backwards... no signs of damage. BEAUTIFUL images. It is not just the bit depth or even just the codec. Those who were far better image... and perfectly manipulated elements in the processor of the camera, preparing the record of the image. ISO 6400? No problem. Higher? Well... maybe need a little shade in position and a bit of noise reduction. But still... usable for a picky fool like me.

The D600 is a generation later than the D3 and a LOT more pixels. Greatly improved, it should be even better, right? Well... we still use the D3 when passing over 3200 ISO and much... Although the D600 has many more pixels, to print a 30 x 40 inches? I prefer the D3, the D600 is quite credible to 30 x 40 and a little more.

Is the same in video, especially in DSLRs. Not all equal camera specifications... are equal in the real world work. And your comment about to realize that some people, trying to mimic the shooting journal styles of spendy cameras 'pro', go so flat that they cannot recover properly... is dead on. You must study the camera (s) that you are handling, test the. Test the media. Break it. Until you know all the ways to break, you can't push it as far as you can without breaking. You can't make the most of it.

Then... shooting DSLR in order to get as much as you can in this media probably 8-bit, you must...

Choose to start with a fairly neutral 'profile'. You don't want to do anything 'jumped '.

Reduce the contrast until you keep the MOST dynamic that the camera can record. It varies between cameras. That's why you reduce contrast... just to draw a greater number of pixels as this camera can provide. Do not pull the contrast more far. You don't win anything it. It is NOT a spendy video-built platform with 12-bit capacity.

Sharpness... most of the cameras were execrable sharpening "routines". Some cameras can operate very well left a few ticks from the bottom of their sharpness setting, some need to be so low that it goes all the way down. TEST. Any editing software has better sharpening than this camera.

Saturation... a lot of DSLR overcook red, especially in midrange/highlights. Some can do with green or blue, but it is almost always red. Decline by saturation, so you don't get too saturated is a good thing. That's the only reason to back your saturation. Depending on the camera, you will be typically halfway between the middle position "0" and the lowest setting before you get "there". Safe. And that of all you want, is the TV broadcast good saturation in the reds. You can set all the rest if necessary.

Hue... When you do a good white balance in a controlled lighting situation, with all the lights in the same type of quality 'bulb', and he still had to pull secondary on a particular shade or quadrant all the time, you might be able to adjust the hue of your camera and get a 'normal' a little better out of it.

Some devices have other controls... "pedestal" and others. In most of the DSLR, those who are of limited utility. I did not talk about any camera in the DSLR group who had really wonderful abilities unlocked to use these controls. In the test, you could get help in some circumstances.

Then... the final result, is you shoot as neutral as possible, using the controls of the camera to get a broad dynamic range on possible chip, protect your media oversaturation in the reds in particular and... one more thing.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE EXHIBITION AND THE IN-CAMERA WHITE BALANCE.

Figure out what 'works' for you for the white balance and use wisely. I tend to use the most recent ExpoDiscs for general things, and of course, it should be used to the position that you are shooting at (where your subject will be)... underlined the primary light source. Nail the exposure setting in the histogram on the camera while the ExpoDisc is on the lens (spike exhibition in this dead histo), THEN do with the ExpoDisc white balance. At other times, I do a simple adjustment of kelvin. It's one or the other. Some use things of auditor of passport, some do other things. Do SOMETHING that gives you consistent and predictable results.

You don't have the number of colors to do much 'corrective' color-balancing in post. And considering that you also have to allow a little 'margin' to creative coloring, you need to pretty much nails "neutral"-cam.

I STRONGLY recommend getting an external monitor to your camera that shows the false colors and set your exposure according to this monitor. Use of the indicator for whites, especially set your exposure protecting the salient facts necessary. Know where your black and set the lights for them if necessary... but drop where they are going. The ISO and exposure for whites.

In available darkness shooting, worry less do everything Mount ISO underexpose. Exposure necessary darks is BAD... When you 'lift' them you can get the hang of macros.  A small reduction of extra noise at an ISO setting higher is much better to handle in position to try to eliminate the blocking of macros.

JOURNAL of shooting... Some cameras now do have a sort of "journal", as saying that the Panny GH4 East and several others. In the GH4, it was more of a public relations thing, is my estimate. The log parameter does not well outdoors in bright situations... MANY problems of banding... but it helps me to some in the studio lighting. This is a very nice addition to studio shooting, but when even... correctly set footage 'normal' from the studio of GH4 works pretty well. A GH5... maybe this will be a huge advantage. Maybe not.

Some other devices, in the Canon and Sony especially, get some additional benefits of their journal parameters. However, to open an exhibition and other parameters of the camera are rather crucial and difficult to "verify" during the filming, he must test and know your cold gear. They are not a panacea.

Follow the above, and you will get more constantly out of the camera that you can make the most of post. And Yes, a few very good colorists know I tell stories wonderful to get Arri media and such... which is total crap that the camera or the DP operator did not really know what they were doing. Or he just blew. And now, of course, they want the colorist to fix what is about... truncated of mush. Mutilated mush of a back is not much better than porridge mutilated to a Canon MkIV. But beautifully and technically perfect media of any camera... worth to work with.

  • Multicam edit sequence synchronized DSLR meadow creation questions

    Hi all

I'm new to Premiere Pro CC, having moved just of FCPX. I did a little research on multicam editing in PP these days, but are not yet able to start my project.

As you can see on the screenshot, I have a sequence of clips of DSLR that I have synced on my calendar. The problem is that no matter what method I use I can't seem to create a multicam editing that works. I always find myself with only a camera in the multicam window and the audio is not synchronized remote upward with him.

    What I am doing wrong?

  • Is "DSLR édition" truly native CS5?

I could finally try the presets "DSLR édition" after that save my copy of Production Premium CS5... and I'm pretty impressed with the ease with which it handles the 5 d Mark II MOV files.  I wrote up to five layers of 1080/24 p clips and had time reading real (as long as the monitor is set to 1/2 resolution... no CUDA here material), so I'm really happy with how much better it is than CS4.  I was also impressed that coding is actually faster than reading.  The two wins in my book.

However, I wonder if yes or no preset sequences will truly "Native" when the images have not been altered.

The State of documents as a yellow bar on the timeline "indicates that a clip does not match the sequence settings, but can usually still."
read real time without rendering. "The original MOV files created by my 5 clips of 5 d Mark II have this bar yellow when matched with their respective screening (1080 p 24 fps).  If I am primarily a right the original MOV file export (using the "Match sequence settings"), I noticed that the selected video encoder is MPEG-I no settings or options.  The resulting file is a. MPEG container and is considerably smaller than the source (low flow too), another sign of warning that the file has been recompressed.  Inspect the file suggests that the video is now MPEG-PS... Heck, even the audio has been compressed.

This does not fit my definition of native.  Mean to me, the native Premiere Pro must pass just a sequence unprocessed without recompression (.h264 / audio uncompressed).  The container format can change... I have no problem with that.

What is the resulting. MPEG file turn it on for a timeline "DSLR édition" has no bar color on it... which makes me think that MPEG-I is the native format for this sequence.

I'm doing something wrong?  What is so "DSLR édition" presets are supposed to work?

This does not fit my definition of native.  Mean to me, the native Premiere Pro must pass just a sequence unprocessed without recompression (.h264 / audio uncompressed).  The container format can change... I have no problem with that.

Next, you will need to redefine "native" for purposes of CS5. 'Native' edition means that you don't need to transcode your files source to something else in order to import and edit. What you're talking about is generally referred to as "smart encoding" or "smart rendering", which means that images that are not altered / "performed" / edition is able to be transmitted from a source, through machines of the NLE file in an output file, unfazed and unhurt. Premiere Pro is not able to do it, at least not with assets MPEG. Given that most people will not return to the same format where they came, and given that most people also change their sequences although it is in the chronology of the Publisher (for example, color correction, effects, titles, etc.), it comes to pos.

If you have to make it back in the same format/codec that you started with, then you must accept first reprocessing of images. I know there are at least a plug-in (MainConcept, I think) which allows assets MPEG smart rendering, but I don't know if it is available for CS5, or never will be.

Ultimately, a predefined sequence / setting has no effect on your export format is or will be. For example, I edit DVCPROHD in a DV sequence all the time, with a perpetual red bar, but that images are never rendered as DV. I export to MPEG-2 for DVD, or H.264 for web or something else, but the film is never rendered as DV. It's always a native, because I am able to work with DVCPRO HD files perfectly fine, even if the program is down them as incompatible with the sequence that I use. The fact that you can bring your 5 d files, edit them, stack them five deep and have an otherwise enjoyable experience told me that, Yes, Virginia, there is a native workflow.

If the problem comes back after a reboot, you may have an extension conflict. Disable all extensions via system preferences. To isolate which extension is at fault, turn on an extension at the same time, restart in the meantime, until you find bad.

  • Problem starting el capitan (sierra) - built-in keyboard and the mouse do not respond

    Hello

I have a 2015 macbook pro (SSD 256, 16 GB of RAM last el capitan updated) with a wired problem.

I use it mainly to a cinema monitor and I use wireless keyboard and mouse (office installation program), and of course as a stand-alone laptop when I'm not at my desk.

When I put the laptop to sleep, everything works fine when I wake up.

but, if I'm away from the office and I have to restart my laptop, here is the problem.

The boot process is very very slow, there is no edge, and when I finally have the screen to unlock the safe, the keyboard and the touchpad do not react. Actually, that's not exactly true, they are so slow that they are unusable and get caught quickly, all gel. So I can't unlock and complete the boot. My laptop is unusable ;-(

At this point, I get a message that if I forgot my password I just need to reboot by pressing the power button, and I'll be able to reset it.

When I do this and aprΦs the dΘmarrage that more slowly than usual but ok, I get another screen with several options of problem solving. One of them is "keyboard not responding do not. When choosing this one, it asks if you want to remove safe. I tried and everything was back to normal.

later, I delivered safe and I had the same problem again. I did the thing to be able to restart again and improved to sierra in the hope that it would disappear. However, the problem is still there.

I thought I could try to restart my office to see if my keyboard and wireless mouse would still work. Indeed, even if responsiveness was not normal, I could unlock and fill the chest.

I have the impression that my laptop always "believe" it is on my desk, linked to my screen (probably the reason why I don't hear the Bell) and to my wireless K & M.

It's really annoying and I hope someone has a solution.

    Thank you very much

    best,

    Alex

I'm having a similar problem with macOS Sierra which I didn't have with El Capitan.  I can possibly move the cursor on the power button and turn off (no), but I must be patient because the keyboard and trackpad are only for a fraction of a second, which only allows me to move the mouse slightly.  After he stop and start back up, everything is perfect until I tried another reboot, and then I'm back to the beginning.

I tried to reinstall the operating system, reset the SMC, resetting the NVRAM, reboot in SafeMode... nothing worked so far.

  • iMessage hangs when starting

My iMessage application crashes on my Macbook Pro 15 inch (last El Capitan), immediately after it starts. Error message is:

    Hello

There is an app Messages having an iMessages account.

In fact, it may have a Hello 'Account' AIM, Jabber and Yahoo, not to mention the many you can have.

One of them could be the cause rather than the iMessages one.

    These: -.

    NSInvalidArgumentException

See if the data of one kind or another in the past between the app and other places he works with.

In some cases, the 'reason' may include a reference to something being 'null '.

In these cases, this may mean that the Contacts App has no listed correct My map, in some cases, this means that Mac user account name and my card Contacts do not seem to match.

Can you be specific about which .plists you deleted.

Some with ichat in the name refers to the functions most basic application which have been there since the app was called iChat.

For example, it might be the sort of friend order if you have AIM, Yahoo or Jabber accounts.

This Yahoo have released a new version of their Messenger which seems incompatible with what they had before.

It seems to stop the Messages application entering this account.

I don't think that is the question here because I don't have this problem myself.

Can you remember if you changed anything in the Messages recently?

Present themselves as one or more individual items contact lists?

Changed a State Message to a buddy list?

Changed the "conversations of beginning of" setting on the iMessages account?

Deselected an alternative email or number of iPhone?

  • After Malware that my login is disabled cannot start in safe mode

    Hi if anyone can help.

A friend tried to watch movies online, I'm not sure of the site they visited, but were asked to install MacKeeper and I believe that they did, as I noticed it was to download and installed the following day and I asked them why they did this and they said it was the only way to watch movies!

Anyway to cut a long story short my friend then called me to say they received a "pop" window to say that my computer has a virus and call a number of 1800... I told them to do nothing certainly not call the number and I would like to sort.

So basically since then that then I can not connect to my main account at the start, the section where you type your password won't let me type into it and there is a symbol of the brand of 'question' next to it. If I hold my mouse over the question mark I get a dialog box stating "Please enter your password to iCloud as... as well as the date. I can only login as a guest and I cannot connect in 'safe' mode by holding down the SHIFT key.

I deleted the MacKeeper Application (and also another OS player application that is newly installed the same day!) and empty the memory cache of my browsers and also now upgraded to 10.11.6

I also run disk utilities, but still I'm getting this problem trying to connect to my main user account!

I think that it is some kind of malware, does anyone have ideas how to solve at least the connection problem?

If I could stamp out to see if there is any malware stuff going on behind the scenes it would be too great!

    All suggestions welcome.

    Thanks, Ciaran

How did you uninstall the MacKeeper application? Please be as specific as possible, unless you have followed the steps, I suspect that your system has installed to uninstall. If this is the case then you will need to re-install and uninstall immediately by following the instructions of developers. Otherwise, the best thing to do is to do a wipe and installing OS X and then manually install your applications and restore your data from your Time Machine backup.

I'm sure you probably learned to not let this 'friend' enter the 100' of your computer.

  • Something is wrong! Start in safe mode, but it turns out that for Normal mode.

    Mac Mini (late 2014)

Processor 3 GHz Intel Core i7

    16GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory

    Start drive Macintosh HD

Iris 1536 MB Intel graphics card

Monitor: DELL U2713HM, use the Apple adapter to connect to the Mac Mini

I upgraded from Capitan in Sierra and got the problem that after I pressed the power button, the screen is full white. This problem has occurred on the Sierra, never happened in Capitan.

I went to the Apple store today, they made a few diagnostic and found no problem. Everything is good. System is fine too. In the Apple store, they showed me to press SHIFT after I press the power button and it will start up the Mac in safe mode. They told me this can sometimes help fixing the boot issue. My Mac actually works very well in the Apple store. I tried the power and turned off twice in the store, and there is no problem. I am happy and come home.

After I go home, I turn on my Mac, it always has the same problem before you go to the Apple store, after I pressed the power button, the screen is completely blank. So I tried to boot mode safe by pressing Shift and taking until I saw the Apple logo on the screen.

After I log in, I checked my Mac mode, this is actually Normal mode!

If I intended to power to the top of my Mac in safe mode but it turns out to be normal.

If I do not press SHIFT and hold it pressed down after I turn on the power, I'll have just a white screen!

It works very well in Apple store, but not in my own House.

    Anyone know what is happening?

What is different between your system and the store? Have you taken your own keyboard & they were they that? If you use a bluetooth keyboard try using a wired USB one instead. Is this an original Apple keyboard?

Do you have other devices connected? If you delete them.

Please see the article below from Apple, it has information about starting in safe mode without keyboard (by setting a NVRAM variable). If you enter a work boot, you can put the mini in safe mode from there, via the command appears on this page...

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

I would like to start trying to make another bootable OS disc - either an installation disc or a complete operating system to see if the Mac can be started OK to a different installation of OS - which indicates if the operating system or disk are part of your question, or if the material is simply unable to work correctly at all.
