  • The value of VM to restart automatically after a power failure

    Hello world

I'm under vSphere Client 4.1.0 and VMware ESXi 4.1.0. I'm having a problem to find my vSphere client where to change the VM to restart automatically after a power failure. When we have a failure someone must manually start the virtual machine. I want that it automatically starts up on its own. Where can I change this to? I looked around the client with little success...

  • Virtual MACHINE starts automatically after a power outage of the entire site?

    Hello

    We use ESXi 5.5.

If there is a power for the datacenter failure, ESXi hosts must be restarted when power is resumed.

We wonder if VMs will be launched automatically to the top?   If not, this means that we must allow the "starting the Virtual Machine / stop option.

If we put a number of virtual machines in "automatically start", such as VM1, VM2, VM3 on ESXi Server one, VM4 VM5 ESXi Server b.   Virtual machines are migrated between ESXi servers and how they can keep the boot sequence?

  • No network after a power failure and only works in safe mode with network. Operating system is Vista SP2.

The latest patch to update this system was .net framework 4

This behavior has occurred on several machines after a power failure in our factory caused all systems restart.

    I have run chkdsk

    I ran sfc

    SafeMode internet works fine.

Clean boot does not solve the problem.

Cannot remove .net framework 4 because I can't get windows installation service to work properly.

X red on the connection in normal mode

I run with the reset.cmd file subinacl to reset all the registry settings. It gave no results.

I looked at all of the services that are running successfully in normal mode and those that are run in mode safe and that services to start. This got me internet again in normal mode, but we are far from finished there are a lot of services is still needed. I'll make one by an approach to see what will begin and what doesn't.

System Restore was successful, but had no bearing on the issue. Here's the solution that worked.

    Safe Mode boot

on computers that are running Windows live onecar I ran as administrator onecare removal tool

Remove the Adobe Flash 10 utility

    Open msconfig and services.msc

enable all services that are running in safe mode to run msconfig on the next reboot. Also enable required services for Windows updates and windows install

    Enable

BITS, com +, Windows udpate, workstation and service server and all dependent services. If you miss some that is good because you and individual services and start them from services.msc when the next restart.

    Restart the machine.

I found that after this reboot a few updates have been posted in the update list installed in the control panel that had not been previously listed.

Remove all instances of Java (cannot be done in safe mode)

Reinstall Java and flash player from their respective Web sites

I installed Microsoft Security Essentials www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Run windows update and install the updates.

run msconfig and select normal startup

    Restart and ensure normal operation.

It takes about 1/2 hour, 1 hour per machine which was much lower than a full reinstall.

  • This virtual machine to become protected vsphere HA and HA can not try to restart after a power failure

I got a 5.1 cluster with some problems HA.

This virtual machine to become protected vsphere HA and HA can not try to restart after a power failure.

When I try to reconfigure HA on the host. It times out and fails.

    any idea?

Instead of reconfiguring HA on the concerned host, have you tried to disable HA on the cluster and enable again? See: VMware KB: State of the virtual machine changes from protected to Unprotected

    Problem:

I've had enough material resources, in fact, I had twice the disk space and memory to four times more in the reception of news

When migrating virtual machines in ESXI 4 server and get Vcentener turn it on the message "this VM could not become vSphere protected HA and HA cannot attempt to restart after a power failure.  "

I do not understand because the servers have resources, I can't find what is wrong.

Should I use another method of migration?

Once that you have migrated, can solve this problem without re-migration of computers?

I found this post, but it's no imformation. This VM could not become vSphere protected HA and HA cannot attempt to restart after failure of.

    Hi Bjarn

Have you tried to create a new site, and see if it crashes too when opening. If it works fine, your file may be damaged .muse.  In addition, where was located, as the network drive or local file drive?

Please share your with us .muse file to study? Please send it to [email protected]. If your file is larger than 20 MB, you can use something like Adobe SendNow SendThisFile or Dropbox. Don't forget to mention the link to this forum thread in your email so that we can identify the file.

In the Apple Menu, select "restart." A window will appear as shown below. Clear to re - open the windows when you log in. You can now cancel the reboot, unless you want to check that the system works as you would when you restart.

  • Slow start, "Frozen Desktop", MS C++ Runtime Library - all after a power failure fast

Our House had a short cut (2 seconds), and immediately after that the computer has restarted, the computer was a moment very unusually long to restart. When its many programs spinning if clicked on, and in some cases, the computer would freeze (for example, I need to click on "start" and it would freeze on the screen) or get the runtime error above (device trying to open firefox). And 'My Computer' is simply not open. I tried to restart in 'safe mode' but that did not work or the other. The computer is managed by a surge protector and have us get out before without any problem, so I hope it didn't fry the computer completely. Firefox and Norton won't work (they turn). "Freezes" the taskbar and the start menu opens, but with no icons (view through the desktop). 'My computer' opens but then charge (green bar through the movements of the top of the page), but then will 'freeze '. I don't seem to be able to start in "Safe Mode", but it will try again.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, the problem was not resolved. The computer still load at a snails pace (close to 40 minutes) and programs spin when I try to open at least 60 seconds, or that they no longer answer. Now, I hear a real hard drive clicking sound, so I guess that some how the hard drive is physically damaged (if I have a surge protector - so I don't know how it happened). I plan to completely reload Vista (wipe everything) as a last ditch effort, but I'm guessing that won't matter either, like her that perhaps the HD is made.

  • How to make the virtual machine starts automatically after power is declining for all ESX host?

We meet just power down and lost electricity ESX host.

When we start the ESX host, we can on each individual virtual machine.

Y at - it a setting that we can put in place for these VMs critics may start se?

    Your opinion is requested.

Thanks for your advice. He agrees with your saying that the start / stop sems to be buggy.

It's only disable it every time that you enable VMware HA.

But it works (if enabled) and may be useful to define how the system starts up.

As soon as I take laptop sleep extended with lid closed in my hands to put it in a bag - it starts by itself with closed lid...

Anyone had similar problem and solution for this?

    Thank you

    > Is there any setting for laptop, or Windows 7 which not is not notebook on the State of Standby/Hibernate when the lid is closed?

First of all this is not serious if the lid is closed or not a fact is important: notebook is set into hibernation mode and wakes up if USB mouse is moved

Is the BIOS contains a few options Wake Up, you should check the settings of the BIOS as Wake Up on LAN, Wake up on keyboard etc. turn off these options, save changes and check how it works
